4281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in India on: September 12, 2020, 03:10:44 PM
Recently I hired some virtual assistants on Upwork to help me grow my website, however, for some reason they tried to destroy my search engine rankings.
Did they do it on purpose? you should report it to Upwork then.

Do we know if the country of India has something against bitcoin or anything recent in the news that would suggest this?
There are news and hot issue about bitcoin between RBI. They have lifted the ban on bitcoin last March-May 2020 but there's another speculation that they were interested again on banning it.

With a law, India plans lasting ban on cryptos, the article was published just this June 2020.

In March 2020, the ban on cryptocurrency in India was lifted. I haven’t encountered this article from June 2020, so I’ll check it out. With the large number of people working in IT and content creation in India, it feels like they would be in support of bitcoin somewhat.

I’ve been working on correcting this for months now. Upwork has been giving me hazy responses every time I write a ticket or call them over the phone.
I am an Indian guy working in IT myself and I love crypto. Crypto situation is not that bad here as the media reports.
Though the RBI is against crypto, we the people are supporting crypto. I am sorry you had to face the issue with your SEO.
But are you sure that those guys deliberately do it with the intention to mess with your SEO rankings ?

Indian guys generally offer less prices for the same work offered by another guy. May be you hired people who actually didn't knew what they are doing.
You could have hired professionals instead. We don't have anything against bitcoin brother.
Either the developers are not so experienced or they must have done it unintentionally.

You should try contacting those developers and ask them why they did it.
4282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Stimulus Bill Rejected- Good News For Bitcoin.. on: September 12, 2020, 03:02:24 PM
It's going to be a disaster really in a matter of months or years at last. And if that isn't bad enough, the entire world's economy will be affected by it. On the other hand, I guess it's great that at least we're some of the few who've locked in a quite safe position.. safer than fiat anyway, considering all the events.

I'm no economics expert, but I think the effects would be felt years and years down the road, while some people are sort of "celebrating" right now due to the "free"(at least some of them think it is) money. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.

And yea, I also think I might be in a safe position(at least safer than the people who doesn't have assets) due to my holdings, but damn a lot of people are screwed.
Damn, the US government is printing huge amount of money out of thin air. I wonder how much inflation this would bring in the upcoming years.
I guess this is why people are investing more in bitcoin so that they can tackle the inflation as the price of bitcoin grows over the years.
4283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy Startup Nym Will Pay You in Bitcoin to Run Its Mixnet on: September 11, 2020, 02:48:18 PM
https://www.coindesk.com/privacy-nym-pay-bitcoin-mixnet
Incentives paid in bitcoin
Nym has largely been focusing on its testnet, with node operators hosting them as a labor of love. Now, Nym will compensate operators using bitcoin. One way it offers rewards is through L-BTC on the Liquid sidechain using the Blockstream Green wallet. Liquid offers on-chain privacy using confidential transactions, which obscure the amounts being paid. For those who don’t have or want a Blockstream Green wallet, Nym will reward operators with BTC because Nym doesn’t want to force anyone to adopt a particular wallet. It will also be launching an incentivized bounty program to test the network’s strength.
Thanks for sharing this post. I didn't knew such a thing existed. I found it pretty cool. Although the concept is little similar to TOR they are conveying it as a step forward. This will be on my watchlist from now.

Also, for people who are interested in the bitcoin incentives NYM are offering should know that they have already received the 100 nodes they wanted.
No more nodes will be accepted to receive bitcoin rewards. But they are offering NYMPH tokens for people who are still willing to setup a node on their testnet and these people might get considered to receive the BTC rewards in the next round of their incentive program.
4284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Millennial Generation Investors Prefer Bitcoin Over Gold on: September 11, 2020, 02:28:38 PM
It's because more number of people are getting aware of the situation as each day is passed.
Governments printing fiat in huge amounts and thefts/crimes related to gold are increasing every year.
Bitcoin on the other hand is being more stable every year and the demand for it has been increasing rapidly on yearly basis.
There are many other reasons but these are the main reason why this generation is more into crypto than gold.
This is just my perspective and not on proven facts.

Hackers Are Trying To Break Into This Bitcoin Wallet Holding $690 Million
https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/bv8k4v/hackers-are-trying-to-break-into-this-bitcoin-wallet-holding-dollar690-million

https://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/address/1HQ3Go3ggs8pFnXuHVHRytPCq5fGG8Hbhx

I'm not sure if this is a real wallet or if this article is an advertisement for RaidForums.
It can't be more silly. I think those people should not even be called as hackers since even an average bitcoin holder knows that brute forcing a wallet is a complete waste. If it were to be a real hackers then they would rather try finding and compromising the device on which the wallet was previously used and then decrypting the private key from the device. Anyway, articles like these have been previously posted on this forum but nobody actually got anywhere with brute forcing.
4286  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the crypto market saturated? on: September 10, 2020, 04:08:49 PM
Saturated ? I guess NO.
The crypto market still has plenty of room to grow. With the blockchain technology evolving and many people getting started to identify it's true abilities there are new potential projects which comes every few years. I am not talking about shitcoins and dead projects but potential projects which are still there in the crypto community and growing every year. If such new projects are coming up every few years how can the crypto market be saturated.
Every project takes time to grow. There's a long road ahead.
4287  Local / India / Re: [ANN] Coinfeed.in - The Indian alternative for coinmarketcap on: September 10, 2020, 02:16:17 PM
The site looks great and I really liked the animation stuff. The fact that it is only tracked by indian exchanges makes it even better.
But yeah I do think that the site is slow when loading the prices. As Heisenberg said that the site is fetching real time prices from 5 exchanges but I guess it should not take that much time anyway. It's longer than usual since API calls fetch the prices almost instantly.
But yeah I do know that things will improve quickly and this site will turn come out really great  Smiley
4288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Greedy crypto developers on: September 09, 2020, 03:06:11 PM
It's not totally the developers fault for this because they are just doing their job.
People generally hire developers for their projects and so we can't blame them for their job.
It's the guys who hire those developers just to create a hyped up project to earn profits.
Those are the people to be blamed.
4289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: History will be repeating itself, invest wisely. on: September 09, 2020, 02:35:25 PM
Just like ICO, proof of stake, masternode, IEO and DEFi. The trend will come and go but few survive the jungle. The recent spike in price and are all sold off with - 50% and still counting as bitcoin plunge continues.
Sushi developer left the project but I was surprised how the price bounce back when FTX founder renowned his self to continue the project. Invest wisely, most of this project will cost you nothing but loss.
You are damn right at this point. I already knew that the DeFi hype will soon come to an end and the recent dump is like a signal for the people who think that DeFi is the next big thing. Well it might be but it's not that all the DeFi tokens will skyrocket out of nowhere.
People will have to understand that only the potential coins will stay while the rest will rest in peace.
Stay awake, be aware and keep doing researches on how good the coins you want to invest are.
4290  Local / India / Re: What are the easy ways to store your bitcoins and alt-crypto in a offline mode on: September 09, 2020, 12:58:58 PM
It's obvious that the best method to store your bitcoins is to store it in a hardware wallet but not everybody can afford it.
Also, if you are not holding a huge amount of bitcoins then it's not wise to BUY a hardware wallet just for that.
I hold a decent amount of coins and it's not much but yeah, I don't own a hardware wallet.
We can use a paper wallet and it's very easy to make one and use it but keeping it securely is the tough task.
Another option is to store the coins in an offline computer and never connect it to the internet.
Also we can use a virtual machine(VMware/Virtualbox) and then store the coins in it disabling the access to internet but we have to be cautious about what we are doing.

In my opinion the best thing would be
1. Hold your bitcoins in a hardware wallet if the amount is huge
2. Hold your bitcoins in paper wallet/offline computer if its not a huge amount

P.S: We all are wise enough to decide what's a huge amount so no debates on the speculation
4291  Local / Alt Coins (India) / Is it worth Staking TRX on WazirX ? on: September 09, 2020, 12:50:14 PM
Hello guys,

I have been searching for some good coin to stake when TRX grabbed my attention. I digged up a little and found out that WazirX is offering 4% - 9% for staking WazirX. We have to hold a minimum of 500 TRX which is approximately 0.0017 worth BTC. The rewards are distributed monthly which is cool.
Also the price of Tron has increased lately. Do any of you guys have staked TRX ?
Could you describe your experience with it and if it is actually worth it ?
4292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What does the Lightning Network need to become mainstream? on: September 08, 2020, 05:19:33 PM
I guess it is too soon to comment anything on the Lightning network because it is not yet a fully operational payment system.
Bitcoin itself is still at it's early stage and so Lightning network is still far from going mainstream.
Consider another 10 years at least for Lightning network to be used by the global community.
4293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff son buys more bitcoin against his advise on: September 08, 2020, 05:07:28 PM
LOL  Grin Grin  Is this some kind of joke or what ? It's funny though, seeing your own son getting more attention than yourself.
It's kind of free promotion for bitcoin. I guess he would have bought it now since the price has decreased recently.
Must be hard for Peter to digest this. Sometimes we must just accept what the harsh reality is.
4294  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your keys, your bitcoin? on: September 08, 2020, 05:04:10 PM
If they have really made it as a law then I think it's great because this will make many people aware of how bitcoin should be used.
There are many people who buy bitcoin and store it on exchanges and later complaint when the exchanges get hacked.
This kind of law will encourage people to hold the private keys of their bitcoin addresses.

Like I said, we can sign a message with private key and that is considered enough, no other evidence needed. But what if someone generated the exact private key or, more realistically, have stolen it, how would it possible to prove that victim is the real possesor of private key? What would California court say in this case? If they both can sign a message, do they both have a right to these coins? Are there any other methods to prove the ownership besides signing a message?
One can only sign a message if he has the private key to that address.
Owning the private key pretty much declares the address as yours and there is nothing that can be done if you own the private key of any address.

4296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Scam victims on: September 06, 2020, 12:14:53 PM
The thing about crytpo is that once you send your money to someone there is no chance for your money to come back.
There is nobody you can complaint to because the scammers would have already received your money and they are not gonna return it to you.
Consider it as once the money is gone it's gone. But yeah if it is a company that is scamming many people or a hacker that has scammed millions of money then "May be" the cyber crime cell can catch them but even that does not guarantee to receive the money back.
4297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Early members, give us an insight on: September 06, 2020, 11:59:44 AM
  • Never fall for Pump and Dump coins as it is not the right way to earn profits and most probably you will end up losing all your money.
  • Don't borrow money or take a loan to invest money in cryptocurrency. Consider it as a hobby and only invest the extra money you have and you think won't  stress you even if you lose it.
  • Practice trading with dummy accounts or with the least capital until you think you are ready to for professional trading.
  • Dont panic sell when the market is down because the market will recover sooner or later. Be patient and change your strategy as per the trend
4298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Fees on: September 06, 2020, 11:47:06 AM
Fees will normalize only after eth 2.0 release or after defi death. I dont know what will be sooner

These two factors could be the cost recovery of expensive ETH gas, but maybe this is the business game of the big miners. They are still hungry for profit, all will be done when they reach their goal.
May be the above reason is the cause of the spike in ETH gas price but that doesn't mean that the transaction cost will only reduce after ETH 2.0
I don't think we will have to wait that long for the transaction cost to reduce. Things will get back normal soon as the pending transactions in the ETH blockchain are validated in the upcoming weeks. I think the transaction cost will reduce in less than a month.
4299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do not fall for all DeFi HYPES on: September 06, 2020, 11:38:37 AM
I think the DeFi hype is quite similar to the ICO hype. When ICOs were getting launched in 2017 it gained the investors attention and people started throwing their money in every ICOs. Many scammers used this as an opportunity to scam people in the name of ICO.
I think DeFi projects are going through the same trend but with lesser attention than ICOs back in those days.
But still there are many investors who are throwing their money in DeFi projects blindly.
Stay awake guys. Not all the DeFi projects will turn out to be a huge success.
So invest your money wisely and only after researching the project thoroughly.
4300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Downfall of dia data (DeFi) on: September 05, 2020, 02:56:06 PM
Rather than calling it as a downfall we can call it as a major correction in Dia's price. It was quite expected since the coin increased a lot in price in a short span of time. It's not only with Dia but any coin which increases in price too soon has to fall back a little in order to give an opportunity to other investors to join in. It has also happened with bitcoin when the price increased to $20k and then dumped to $3k.
Corrections are expected in crypto. There's nothing to worry about since the price will increase again in future.
