4281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: COVID-19 a reason for Bitcoin adoption? on: June 26, 2020, 05:33:22 AM
Well said, it is also good to avoid some contacts on other people. If there are things that can be done through online transactions, let us choose it so we don't need to go outside and do the transactions.
That's definitely the purpose of the contactless payment systems. The situation now made it sound a lot better and it's the actual time to do it, IMO. You will never know what the other person has been with or something. It's best to stay safe.

You can't eliminate the use of physical money easily, especially that not all of the people can afford smartphones, computers, and etc., to access digital currencies. There are a lot of people who are still unable to use digital money due to ignorance about the use of technology. I voted YES, because this is a big opportunity to use bitcoin in many transactions.
The best goal is to eliminate it but it's not realistic, I know. I hope it's going to be a preferred way of payment or something like that. I know that even basic cellphones now can transact through texts, IIRC.
4282  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for help to start funding a livestock project on: June 26, 2020, 02:19:31 AM
There are different websites for asking for fundings like
  • Kickstarter
  • GoFundMe
  • Indiegogo
And many more for sure. Try it there first.

It will be helpful for your project if you get up all the facts and figures on the website already. It's easier to visualize rather than reading a bunch of text. I know utilizing Bitcoins could be an easy way to send and get funds from all over the world with a minimal fee, but you still need to provide the important stuff first before asking for anything as well.

4283  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe in crypto ratings? on: June 25, 2020, 01:39:50 PM
I didn't know there were those kinds of ratings. If it were very respectable people who rate this, I would be into it just because of their credentials, not directly believe it, but make it seem plausible at first. It's best to be skeptical at first. If it's just a random site just to shill a type of coin, it's probably not going to be a great idea to believe in that rating.

So it would depend on the reputation of the site for me to "believe" in those kinds of ratings. It's not right away, but I will check the facts for sure. And yeah, Bitcoin is number 1, always.
4284  Economy / Gambling / Re: pubg mobile tdm VS bitcoin on: June 25, 2020, 11:52:41 AM
This competition would be exciting. I suggest that in order for this to be fair with the payments, there should be a referee to oversee and monitor everything. Additionally, an escrow would be nice to deposit all the BTC, and when the winner is decided, transfer it to the winner.

I bet the OP is a Pro in PUBG, just look at his username.  Shocked
4285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Venezuelan can now renew their Passport with Bitcoin as payment. on: June 25, 2020, 08:37:47 AM
So this means that their government is ultimately supporting cryptocurrency payments, And you could also say that they support Cryptocurrency in general. Hopefully, if this results in getting more people involved, I hope that every country would accept this type of payment for any kind of transaction.

For different countries watching the Venezuelan government, it’s the start for sure.
4286  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginner's needs directives from seniors. on: June 25, 2020, 07:30:10 AM
When I was just starting here in bitcointalk I just read a lot of topics on how The forum works. I also had a couple of posts with questions that are supposed to be asked to veterans, in which I did, and they answered because I was curious.

It’s not all about how the lack of Encouragement that is within the forum but it’s with the member it’s self that registered here if they want to improve and get higher ranks.
4287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Couple was forcibly ask by IRS to sell their crypto to pay their liabilities on: June 25, 2020, 04:11:16 AM
They were able to withdraw $19000 a month with no economic hardships, according to the T.C. Memo and they still didn't do it? I think that's the problem we are facing now with cryptocurrencies. According to the memo as well, they can pay but still didn't pay the liabilities. They chose not to do so; that's the start of the problem. What they did is that they skipped the part where the government collects the tax, and the government wants that piece of the pie.
4288  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Blockchain wallet shows innsufficient funds when trynig to send btc on: June 25, 2020, 03:55:45 AM
You don't have to worry about having your BTC there. There may be some problems with the browser or something. Maybe you could use another browser and relog your details there and check if there are some changes. Or maybe re-logging in with your current browser could work as well.
4289  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTB] Two wechat accounts on: June 25, 2020, 01:26:06 AM
Why buy an account? I think you could just register your number that you are going to use in WeChat and then let someone else verify you to activate your account. I remember because I needed to register my WeChat again (I lost my sim card to the first number that I was using) and just needed someone's activation. Something close to that IIRC.
4290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi Projects on: June 25, 2020, 01:11:20 AM
It looks to me that you are shill-ing this BiDao thing. I did a Google search on it and it seems everyone is hyping it or something. Anyways, I think it's just the way they market different projects.

It seems that the guys involved in the project are good with what they are doing and I watched the CTO present in TEDx and it's a great presentation as well. He said that there are things that we need to impart to make the blockchain trustless. Something in that sense.

They are founded by Bastian Aigner who is young guy with a solid tech background and strong education. He reminds me a bit of Vitalik, some people are so smart it's like they are operating on a different level to everyone else and he is like that.
With a guy like that background, 3x Apple Scholar, it seems he has it all already. Good job for him.
4291  Economy / Economics / Re: Roubini Warns about the Incoming Stagflation on: June 25, 2020, 12:26:26 AM
With all the uncertainty with regards to the consequences of the action of today, the specific thing would be the catching up of the inflation crisis part. I think you cannot entirely escape the fact that it's inevitable, we don't have it yet, but it's everywhere. Remember it's not just the US but the whole world is "solving" the problem in that kind of way, printing money out of thin air. I think we cannot blame them entirely but it's the responsibility of the government. These hard times, it's hard to get focused on the infrastructures and school systems. Focusing on one aspect would be good enough right now, the health-care system.

It's not pessimistic, IMO. It's realistic.  Roll Eyes
4292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: COVID-19 a reason for Bitcoin adoption? on: June 25, 2020, 12:15:53 AM
Since we are still new to the current normal and with this pandemic in our hands, it's quite realistic to see and understand that it's the time to leave physical money behind. That's the critical part of the proposed contactless payments and anything related to that. So I voted in the poll, realistic since it's the ideal time to do this and shift everything into digital. We have the technology already, and we just have to implement it.
4293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Geotagging on: June 24, 2020, 03:29:50 PM
This would be a fun idea if I understood what you are trying to point out, OP.

So what I thought about this topic is like regular treasure hunting but only with Bitcoin. Someone would “plant” a QR code of some sort that requires you to be there, hence the geotagging, then unlocking it by scanning as well.

Could it be close to that?
4294  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcointalk Charity Program Signature Campaign - Give Hope To Everyone... on: June 24, 2020, 02:23:54 PM
There special flights for OFW and other people who are trap in Metro Manila that lives in the province.
I know someone but the other way around. I have a friend who works in Palawan and was stuck there during the ECQ phase and GCQ phase and he is still there. He is upset because he wasn't with his family during the crucial times that he is needed. It's really sad. I asked him how he was and told me that he is going to back in Metro Manila in July. It was expensive but that was his only choice.

People are not waiting inside the airport/port but outside the perimeter.
I want to check this out, maybe there's something that could be done even in a little way. It could be the next project but it's going to be more challenging.
4295  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hashrate is dropping on: June 24, 2020, 06:44:42 AM
Maybe it is the current situation that we are in now or some personal issues around themselves. But thinking about their investments towards the mining gears that they have, they could have changed into another coin and mine more than what they could if it is compared to bitcoin right now. At the end of the day, it is getting a profit is the priority over all.
4296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John Cantrell revealed how he successfully hacked bitcoin wallet on: June 24, 2020, 05:09:41 AM
Bruteforce is a sure way to hack anything but it's another task how many devices and centuries you'll need to hack it.
Well, luck plays a major role in brute-forcing stuff. I don’t know. You could unlock a couple of wallets and maybe stumble upon a wallet that has crypto in it. It’s not ideal, but it could happen. Certainly not in our lifetime, though. People should be aware of that kind of possibility, but the chances are minuscule.
4297  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A trading chart does not play out to 100% on: June 24, 2020, 02:59:50 AM
One of the problems with many traders is that they want a trading system that is highly accurate and that is very difficult to achieve, it seems traders cannot simply accept that they are going to be wrong on their predictions and worry more about that than about their stated goal of making money from the markets.
It is not just traders that want an accurate system but also the investors where they could make money out of it. It’s impossible to have a 100% Accuracy, and no one will ever achieve it just because of the unpredictability of the market.

This is where backtesting enters the stage, since it can allow you to test your strategy against hundreds of markets at different points in history and see how your strategy will perform, if it performs positively then it should be expected that it performs positively over the long term as well if you implemented it, but as you may guess the only way to backtest your strategy in such a way will be to be able to get the necessary data and create some code to do it for you, otherwise the backtest will be incomplete and full of biases.
Even if you backed tested a couple of times or even 1 million times, it’s not a guarantee that you could get that same success rate due to previous times. Something could occur almost the same way, but it’s not 100% the same. Pine scripts are being made for those kinds of testing, but it’s still not perfect.
4298  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-06-23] Bitcoin name and logo patented in Spain on: June 24, 2020, 01:46:50 AM
In the article, it seems like he is a hero. He said that if ever someone uses the logo or the name for a scam, he will try and defend the title of Bitcoin. From my Google search about scams relating to Bitcoin in Spain, it seems there were a lot of people that were affected by this.

The title is wrong - it was trademarked, not patented.
The writer may have not known the difference between the two just because of the title. Additionally, the author might have confused it since the office that granted the Trademark is called "Spanish Patent and Trademark Office"
4299  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade by yourself on: June 24, 2020, 01:12:21 AM
I do not think that subscribing to signal groups is terrible, but it’s kind of trial and error method in which where you could just see other people's analysis instead of creating your own. It’s better to understand that to learn something, you need to have experience with it, and a great trading tool would be efficient in learning IMO.

I learned trading with the assistance of Gunbot and how you could simulate different start and what you need to do to adapt to the current market.

4300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Now BTC Price will drop or up? on: June 23, 2020, 11:13:15 PM
Personally, I would like to see a price going up to $10500 Just because of the recent movements. I saw the latest news about PayPal wanting and boosting the image of bitcoin, saying that it could go around $12,000. Maybe it could provide a boost in people's interest to get Cryptos or something knowing the reputation of PayPal is well known to many people around the world.
