Nice!  We need to try it, where will it be hosted?
I have a host as long as the files will not be changing...

      Okay, its liiiivveeeeee!

Biblepay Paper Wallet - Last Minute Gifts for XMAS!

      Biblepay Paper Wallet

I have spent a lot of love and care on it.
I have been using it for my addresses. No warranty implied!
You may download the source in the zip file.

      Feedback appreciated Smiley

      Merry X-mas Everyone!

Well done sir!

Great job sir... Merry Christmas to all

Wow, nice!! This adds great value, makes it easier for people with zero competence to get started!

WARNING:

Webster sent me a PM explaining this paper wallet was not tested yet.  So please, use with caution, and test it with a small amount of BBP in prod and ensure you can spend it.

We could use a volunteer to work directly with him to verify the parameters in the program.

This really should not have been released to Prod yet, until someone actually tests it, so please provide feedback when done testing.

Thanks,
Rob

Rob - I did test it! I have been sending and receiving from addresses it creates for a while with no problem.

Anyone is welcome to test it with small amounts. The best way to test it is

  • Create an address and import it with the command show
  • Use the validate address command to test the address
  • Send small amount of coins to it. And from it, etc.

The source is available for inspection.

I have spent over 2-3 weeks on it btw.

Ok, Thanks a lot dude!

Its been unit tested.

Just tested it. Works like a charm. I haven't checked the source btw, since I'm not skilled enough to do so, but it's there to download if you want Smiley

Generated an address and sent 50 BBP to it:

https://biblepay-explorer.org/address/BRpSTf7Qa2Ygteeh7pnVQAvBT2UBDoz9tL

Imported the private key in another wallet:

Sent the 50 BBP back to the wallet I sent the original BBP from:

Thanks a lot, this helps!

Man I wish I had this a couple weeks ago, I could have printed some Christmas presents, but Im behind....

Pool code has been adjusted to be more careful with the solutions (this primarily affected miners through the night who had less than two shares) and it was a completely random issue.

It should be more stable now and has been deployed to prod.

Once we get our 2nd pool up, this issue should go away completely.

I have the same problem. A few workers do not show up at the pool.

This morning (at 9:00 am ct) the Worker List and Leaderboard show that approx 17% of my servers were dropped from the pool during the night. However getmininginfo says they are all still mining at pool.biblepay.org.

I downloaded the Transaction History, it shows that roughly half of those "dropped" workers are not being included in the distribution (10% of the total workers).

Do you have an example minername that is mining against the pool that is not in the leaderboard?
4306  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: December 26, 2017, 04:03:12 PM
mine too ...

 Angry

again problems with pool ...

and hashes again dropped

neverending story began again

Its working for 1700 other people.  You just constantly complain (your complaint to praise ratio is 99:1).  Can you please go and find another coin or write your own pool?

Why should I maintain your account on the pool if you dont like the service?

I don't think its a win win to have your account with my pool.

4307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BiblePay - New Coin Launch - Official Thread on: December 26, 2017, 02:16:19 PM
thanks  Wink

was anything changin on pool? hashes changed jump again  Huh

Not really, will have to see the logs...

I didnt find too much through the night that looks horrible, just a few deadlocks causing some delays but everything looks to be intact.
The work is being solved on time right now and no deadlocks on the server.

I just ran the database maintenance program and we had some fragmentation, that is cleared up now, so please try now...

I this faucet paying? or not? I requested but not see any transaction in my wallet

Update on the faucet:

The faucet will eventually be back up.  I'm working on a rewrite for that.

In the mean time, if anyone wants to run a real faucet, please find one and compile it and run it and you can enter a proposal occasionally to refill the faucet with BBP from the PR or P2P budget.

Thanks.

Sorry about that, looks like Rob is currently rebuilding it

Im still working on rebuilding it, but we are also looking for someone to run a faucet.  We can vote for the faucet funds from the PR budget....

Workers getting disconnected from the pool at a high rate the past 2 hours or so ... no HPS showing for those workers on the Worker List and they are not on the Leaderboard ... however
getmininginfo" shows the workers as connected to the pool and mining ..

I can confirm. Everything is down to 1-3 shares.

Workers are still being disconnected from the pool, some have reconnected after 2 to 4 hours off, other workers are still not connected (although "getmininginfo" shows that they are.)  BBP production dropped by more than 50% within an hour.

I have restarted biblepayd for quite a few workers. Some of them connected to the pool quickly, others that were restarted are still waiting to connect (getmininginfo shows them connected). While working on the restarts and checking dropped workers, other workers were dropped.

At times during the past 6 hours between 10 and 20% of my miners were/are disconnected.  Most of the workers are running 1071, some still running 1069/1070 yet to be upgraded before the 23000 block. The drop issue has occurred to workers running each of those versions. In the past I've seen one or two workers drop their connection to the pool during the course of a day or two, but I haven't seen anything like this before. It seems to have improved a bit during the past hour.

I have the same problem. A few workers do not show up at the pool.

May I know if second pool minersofmen still operating? Pool wallet did not update for some days...
I e-mailed the owner over the last 10 days as we had the upgrades and have not heard back.  Alex said the funds are still in the account.
Me too, funds still in account. Maybe pool owner celebrates Christmas earlier  Grin
Yes... and this means we will need a new volunteer for a second pool soon, as we have over 150 new miners this week and we are reaching all time high activity on pool.biblepay.org.  This pool will be overloaded soon, most likely when we hit about 2000 concurrent users.
What would be the hardware requirements for setting up a pool?
Win 2012 r2 server, 4 processors, static IP, IIS 7, SQL Server 2016, 8 gig ram, 100 gig drive, anti-ddos enabled.
The vultr option is about $60 a month.

I assume the current pool is overloaded, it looks like we definitely need a 2nd pool to be built.

https://github.com/biblepay/BiblePayPool

We have picked up a second pool, she has 15 years database experience and strong programming skills, so this should work out for us very well.  I will let her introduce herself on the forum when she has time....  Second pool is in baby configuration mode and being code reviewed now...

Or it has charity purpose?

C-CEX not allowing to withdraw(Maintenance showing)...... BBP should be recommend to C-CEX for this stupid things, Who will trust then???
10% of our chain tithes to charities for orphans...  and we are going to be a technological pioneer in some blockchain area within a year...

EDIT: C-cex is on vacation til Jan 20.  Im going to be asking him to take us out of maintenance by Jan 15th.

is there a way to track all the history of MN winners from the very beginning?
Dash has an excellent site for this purpose : https://www.dashninja.pl/
do we plan to have a similar service ?
Btw, Alex is working on everything the Dash Masternode has for Sanctuaries!

Awesome! What does this entail?

6 million dollar budget O_O

Dash Ninja is open source on GitHub, so this maybe means it could be ported to BiblePay? It would be great to have a site like that.

Alex is working on similar features to ninja in our block explorer - hes writing it from scratch.

Ive been working with him in slack on atteming to plug anything we are missing for the next 30 days (IE after the budget is approved).

Today Im adding features to the proposal list to chart funding levels by expense type.

Regarding the pool, I just woke up so I havent looked at it yet... Checking...

an interesting project, is algo asic and gpu resistant? are there any independent miners workers anywhere without wallets? hmmm

just calling your hash bible hash does not make the hash special ...
are y'all really claiming to use an original hash?
can anybody (smarter than me at understanding all this) verify that it is an entirely unique algorithm? thanks!

Ive been asked a similar question in another thread,
I know the White Paper and Source Code is what youd want to look at,
but I do not know enough about cryptocurrency algorithms to answer:

BiblePay White Paper: http://pool.biblepay.org/Docs/BiblePay_White_Paper.pdf

BiblePay Source Code: https://github.com/biblepay/biblepay

With my limited understanding BiblePay is ASIC Resistant with Proof of Biblehash Algorithm (POBh),
How could we go about verifying this through a 3rd party? Ive seen at least 3 people skeptical so far.

Why don't we offer a 250,000 BBP reward to hack it?  If one can port proof-of-biblehash to a GPU or an ASIC, and obtain a mining "edge" of more than 20% over a CPU, they win the 250,000 BBP reward.

EDIT: The proof-of-biblehash is unique, its the only one that uses the bible verses to create a hash.  Additionally, our blockhash is unique in the sense that Groestl has been ported to "biblepay.c", which is a transmuted algorithm (it no longer shares the seeds of groestl).

Love it! Great idea! What would be a good way to go about this?

===

I guess it depends on who digs into this, I assume some people out there have probably already tried to analyze the algorithm to break it.
If I were more blackhat vs whitehat, If I found an exploit, Id keep it to myself and take advantage of it.

(My limited understanding, not sure if its true, reminds me of one the mega Bitcoin mining companies,
that didnt want to update with SegWit because they had ASICBoost, which gave them 20% gains, I think they even patented it)

===

I remember reading about Monero's (XMR) bug/hack bounty:

https://hackerone.com/monero
https://github.com/monero-project/meta/blob/master/VULNERABILITY_RESPONSE_PROCESS.md

===

Ill make a Reddit post about this with some quick research and add it to TODO list and sidebar

Thanks for the Monero links- I like the vulnerability response process page.  One valuable thing we can port from that is creating our own vulnerability process- and creating a security response team with PGP fingerprints.  I created a task to do that.  Do you want to be on the security response alert list?

So I think for now just offer a bounty on a new reddit topic for us and let people come after us.  Hopefully we will attract whitehat hackers, being Christian based, hopefully they will either feel guilty or work to hack it for the public good.

I believe we can wait to be hacked before entering the proposal, since this budget is almost full.

Greetings, and Merry Christmas Eve, on this Eve of a Pagan Holiday.

Try to remember Jesus while you are with your families, and mention him to some atheist and/or lukewarm relatives.

Have a safe Christmas Eve.

Guys,

I really need help on how to recover my balance:

So i updated to the latest version and my balance is showing 0 now after being synced or reindexing.

i used my backup wallet.dat and writed over the new wallet.dat. and Loaded BiblePay again and reindex it. Tools >> Wallet Repair >> Rebuild index and still nothing

I also i noticed that my wallet adress has changed.
The last 3 versions were mandatories, but did not create a breaking change for your prior balance.
The only way you could have lost coins is either: a) you lost your wallet, or b) you mined on a fork.

Please tell us, did you obtain this balance through mining between 1.0.6.5 and 1.0.7.1 or did you have it prior?

If your address changed you probably restored the wrong wallet.  You will have to find the original wallet or keys and restore from that backup.

Thanks for the replay.

I started mining at 1.0.6.5 and updated to 1.0.6.8 without any problem.
But the moment i updated 1.0.7.1 and did the CLEAN UP AFTER INSTALL procedure.

    File Explorer: %appdata%/BiblePayCore
Delete blocks and chainstate folders, delete banlist, fee_estimates, governance, mncache, netfulfiled and peers
Add this line to biblepay.conf: addnode=node.biblepay-explorer.org
In Wallet do Tools >> Wallet Repair >> Rebuild index

My wallet never restored my balance. I replaced backups folder  and wallet.dat with the one i backed up and nothing.
when i replace wallet.dat and restart the app, i have this message (Wallet.dat corrupt, salvage failed.)

Sad

First see if you have a wallet backup in:
%appdata%\biblepaycore\backups

There are wallet files kept in there named wallet.dat.mmddyyyy

Try to copy your original wallet.dat to a new name then restore an old one and report back.

If you dont have a backup:
On your original wallet try booting from biblepay-qt with the -salvagewallet flag again.
