4301  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: December 04, 2016, 09:22:08 PM
I'm also pretty sure you can redeem hashrate for miners once they become 100% on hashnest. I've snagged cheap S5s and S3's on the site a year or so ago, and you can even make quite a good amount just reselling them. The big factor is shipping costs, else the miners they ship come in fair condition- not all of em are in good condition, but they're good enough.
4302  Economy / Services / Re: Get 0.0035 BTC for This Task! on: December 04, 2016, 09:12:19 PM
Just saying, you're either going to have to raise the asking price a lot as very few people even have that many sim cards, or you're going to have to lower the amount of numbers needed to maybe one or five. Good luck though. I don't see why you're asking for 25 at once, though- that's an awfully difficult task.
4303  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC got sent back to Bitmixer.io... where will the money go to? on: December 04, 2016, 03:38:21 PM
I'd say your best hope is to contact Bitmixer and see if they can find that missing BTC. I hope it wasn't a huge amount of Bitcoin, though- you could be facing a total loss if they claim to be as anonymous and as thorough with their mixing as they claim. Good luck in getting your bitcoin back, you'll need all that you can get.
4304  Economy / Speculation / Re: cryptocurrency on: December 04, 2016, 03:35:39 PM
Small tip for ya- altcoin prices, especially ones with low volume, will and can change on you at any point, whether for good or for the worse. You can make quite a lot on these or lose a lot, so make sure to diversify trading to more than one pair. Crypto trading is difficult stuff to learn- you can find plenty of resources online and even on this forum pertaining to the subject. Make sure to use multiple sites checking BTC price, as some sites have much lower volume than others and are sometimes unreliable.
4305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If a person has millions of Bitcoin and he dies one day................. on: December 04, 2016, 03:33:31 PM
I have a question about the amount of bitcoin there are. How many BTC are available now all around the world? And how many BTC can there maximum exist, or is there no limit?
It is hard to tell that how much Btc are available in all around the world, But maximum 21 millions bitcoins can be generated so Bitcoin is limited in numbers.

So, there can never be more than 21 million BTC. When will the maximum be reached? If you can count good, there is not 1 BTC available for every person in the world? If there are only 21 million, is it not so that it will never be a good kind of money to pay with? There can only be a very small % of people in the world who can have 1BTC.
The maximum will likely be reached around the 22nd century, as the last true block will be mined and it'll become transaction fees from there on out. I doubt we'll have many supporters on Bitcoin as it'll likely have fallen to some other more superior coin by then, believe it or not, but one can always hope Smiley
4306  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Is Solar mining really profitable? on: December 04, 2016, 03:28:57 PM
The initial cost and setup can be in the ten's of thousands so if you plan on mining just alt coins then it is not profitable. But if you are able to sell off the hashpower then you could possibly make your investment back but it will take a while to see any profit if any.
Since mining by the most common methods is impracticable these days, I was planning to build a solar-powered mining farm. But the cost, as you said, is quite high. Also there is no accurate information about it on the internet. I will continue the research anyway, this is probably the future of mining.
It'll definitely take some time, but with enough research and manufacturing improvements, it's definitely possible that mining will be heading the direction of renewable resources in the future. It's environmentally friendly and all, but it's really not sustainable for a large scale. Fyi I power a few USB miners off of a solar panel just for fun- they've been going for around 3 months now.
4307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: zcash soon 0.2 btc! on: December 04, 2016, 11:42:30 AM
zcash price down trend , this now zcash price 0.07665500
i think until in end year, zcash price can down until reach 0.05bitcoin/zcash
I'd have to agree with you, Zcash will probably get to 0.01 bt next year and lower if nothing is done about it and if nobody decides to adopt the coin. It was a nice GPU coin, yes, but nothing else was really done with it. Unless somebody decides to pump the coin, that is, which is possible and relatively easy to do with Zcash's small volume.
4308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Want to buy a new minner on: December 04, 2016, 11:39:33 AM
it's better if you buy a gpu rig miner than asic, more profit less cost and you will roi eventually, and in any case it has a much better resale value

Plus it isn't limited to specific algorithms for mining so you can mine a bit of everything.

That is right. You can also sell it if you do not want to mine. The ASIC will have no resale value after a year.
Well, still not entirely true. Don't hate on ASICs that much, guys! A miner can still have nice resale after ROI is reached as people with free electricity or just resellers start to buy them up- this has been true with the S7. GPU rigs do have better resale, durability, and more uses than an ASIC, though, so it's a relatively clear path to gpu mining for now.
4309  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Expected life of GPU mining in zcash and ethereum? on: December 04, 2016, 11:35:06 AM
There is just way too many people getting involved with mining these days....
It was bound to happen anyways. We always have coins to mine, that has been something true for as long as crypto has been alive, so profit and such will not be an issue. Besides, one can always sell their rig for cash again as components are used elsewhere other than mining, so you get a nice cash injection even if you don't reach ROI. Nothing wrong with it, everything profitable will eventually become somewhat saturated.
4310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can I use my small amount for GAMBLING? on: December 04, 2016, 11:30:26 AM
You must remember that you won't make much if you don't have much, and what you make is just an illusion due to house edge. Wins are just a little bonus in gambling, so don't expect wins after wins. Small amounts can be used to gamble, and they can be fun to use as well- nothing is more satisfying than hitting a nice multiplier with a small amount of btc.
4311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: December 04, 2016, 11:04:11 AM
Honestly, the safest method of gambling is to invest in a casino or two. Neither gambling nor investing guarantees profit, but investing gives you a better shot at getting profit. Neither is safe, either- there is a good chance you will lose your money. Most of all, YOU NEED TO LEARN TO CUT AND KEEP LOSSES LOW. I myself only gamble a certain amount a week and I gamble all of that and stop for the whole week. It helps me keep my balances in check and so I don't lose very much at all.
4312  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S2 upgrade kit? EDIT: BITMAIN WHERE ARE YOU?!?! on: December 04, 2016, 10:53:41 AM
Wow! The topic still continues..... I thought it was 2014-15 again.  Still have 1 which I just stole the fans and grills to encase my gpu miner/heater.

Yeah the PSU+Fans and that Ethernet extender plug are all used in my GPUs now.

Really crazy those cost $4000 when new. Talk about depreciation.
Just yet another reason why we all switched to mainly GPU mining. Smiley They don't depreciate nearly as fast as ASICs, and remain useful after they stop making you anything. They were the best miners at the time, and back then people saw the successes of the people who bought the S1, so naturally the S2 sales were huge.
4313  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Would you consider starting to mine for BTC right now? on: December 04, 2016, 10:49:29 AM
I think that in a country with very cheap electricity (or somehow free for you) you can buy around 4 miners and get your money back in 6-8 months. However, you are very lucky if your miners are still working, because they have a tendency to die. Oh, and they are too loud, so you need a space where nobody lives. I wouldn't start mining, because it's risky, loud and taking a lot of your time.
Come on, now. Miners aren't too difficult to keep running, and they rarely die unless you have the S9 or a bad S7 batch and you take good care of them, like dusting and occasionally checking on them to make sure they run well. Most aren't incredibly loud, I keep mine in my basement and one S3 in my living room with a modified fan, so noise isn't that bad. Electricity is the true part, and that's where most people don't meet the criteria for mining, but the rest is generally easy stuff.

if we have that s9 or s7, because as far as i know, the price of s9 is really expensive and if we want to break the ROI, its need almost 1 year to get ROI and its too long to wait beside that, we should consider about electricity fee for at least in a year. i don't know how much exactly the cost depend on the profit, but i think it would be better if we mine using vga card and trying to mining the other coins than mining bitcoin.
That is true, but there are also people that do have cheaper electricity and ROI will be much shorter for them than it is for us. GPUs can be profitable and is in most cases, but then again if you have high electrical costs it won't work and no mining will work for you.
4314  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: SELLING CHEAP COMPUTERS FOR THE HOLIDAYS TO GOOD HOMES!!!! on: December 04, 2016, 01:45:38 AM
So the item is 0.5BTC or $100 shipped like stated in post? little confusing...because 100$ is like 0.13BTC atm...
Would be nice if you clarify and maybe post some photos...and use escrow...just sayin'
cheers

Sorry the desktops on the other post are for the around $100 price. These laptops are .5 BTC the desktops were .125
Would you mind linking me to that other post, then? Didn't see it on here, may be interested in a desktop depending on the specifications of the desktop. Was a bit confusing to talk about the desktop when you didn't even list the specs on this thread. :/

4316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Want to mine monero with gaming rig. on: December 04, 2016, 01:01:25 AM
First thing, AMD is superior to Nvidia in the mining world for the most part. Second, that rig won't do you much good mining, if you buy a pc to game don't mine with it. You'll risk valuable components and lots of money using it. The 970 is also not a particularly good card to mine with, Monero mining won't get you anywhere fast, let alone ETH or even Zcash.
4317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which currency are you mining? Lyra2, Cryptonight, Zcash, Quark on: December 04, 2016, 12:57:30 AM
Any one would think Dash is wrothable to mine, a new guy here.
!
after read some artical of dash, looks like it is pretty potiental coin, and its price is not bad. Smiley

If you do not have the ASIC, it is better not to mine the Dash. It is not GPU mineable for long time. You will lose money.
Pretty much any x-series based coin and quark as well- these all have asics on em and they won't do you any good. Sticking with ETH or Zcash is the safe way to go as of yet, most other coins won't net you a penny in profit. Many other coins are also risky, and you can lose a days worth of profit in them. I like to go safe instead of risking it all.
4318  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The World’s 1st Graphics Card Integrated Miner Is Shipping in November, 2016 on: December 04, 2016, 12:48:52 AM
From what I read on first page, price is about 3 BTC for installation with capacity of 1200 h/s. Approximately the same is the usual farm and performance at same level. What power consumption of this device? Where it can be applied in addition to mining of same coins?

The price is less than 3btc, 15000CNY with capacity of 1400H/S in the most updated ZEC mining version. About 1100 W for the power consumption.
It can be applied to Altcoins, like eth. etc. xmr. zec.

I mean, where it can be applied in life. Unlike similar devices, cards, motherboards and other components can be sold for gamers or for other purposes.
I mean, in this case if the miner doesn't break it'll have a nice resell price comparable to that of a full pc being sold, and if one algorithm dies you'd probably be able to switch the rig to another algo. Not a bad miner, supposing this can be done. It's a nice compact miner that does the job.
4319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Want to buy a new minner on: December 04, 2016, 12:41:23 AM
Baikal miner will have pretty long term roi, but it's a nice new miner to use and buying direct, the sellers have great communication. With lots of algorithms available to use on the miners roi is nearly but not completely guaranteed, although note that it will likely take more than a year to make your money back. I'd go check it out if I were you.

Pinidea makes great miners, but cost is high compared to the baikal ones and the other miner they offer doesn't do much.
4320  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: GekkoScience is now dabbling with 16nm ASICs for new designs on: December 04, 2016, 12:39:24 AM
The short-term projects are

2-chip stick using BM1384, wholesale price about $30, estimated 15GH/5WDC
10-chip BM1385 pod, wholesale price about $70, estimated 250GH/60WDC

Longer-term projects are

2-chip stick using BF16, wholesale price around $40, estimated 60GH/5WDC
11-chip BF16 pod, wholesale price around $125, estimated 650GH/75WDC
33-chip BF16 S1/3/5 refit board, wholesale price unknown, estimated 2TH/200W

I have PCB layouts of all of these things already. The short-terms will probably have prototype PCBs ordered on Monday and code is being developed right now for them.

I have a working-model PCB for the 2-chip BF16 which is heavily designed for unit testing, but which on the whole is functionally identical to the final version stick (circuit-wise). The 11-chip BF16 pod will need to be revised both physically (form-factor changes) and, probably, electrically once I've gotten the 2-chip working and ironed out any kinks.

Everything on this list will have adjustable core voltage for both undervolting and overvolting. Undervolting means a longer viable lifetime due to increased efficiency. This is a mandatory feature and I will never release a miner without it.
All miners will use USB interface for ease of control - no proprietary controllers or IO boards are necessary. This is a mandatory feature and I will never release a miner without it.
Definitely interested in both the short term projects now- stick looks like it won't have much room to overclock on 5w as most usb ports can only manage that much, but more efficiency is always welcome. Pod looks very interesting to me as it uses much less electricity as most other miners out today, cost is a lot lower than I would have thought on both miners. Smiley
