Would absolutely love for the core dev team to get on-board with bigger blocks and I'm sure most other people would too. Now that their bluff has been called, maybe we'll see them implement something.
There is no need for bigger block size. There is no need to increase the size of blocks every time we get near the limit. There is no need for free money transfers for everyone. Everything that is free for the users but not free for the manufacturers will be abused in every possible way. That is a basic rule for every economy!!! Blockchain will be cluttered with spam and bitcoin will become worthless. Everyone should get accustomed to the idea that they have to compete with higher fees to get included in a block. XT altcoin gives no solution to this at all. It just kicks the can down the road in the most irresponsible way! So want a bitcoin only for those rich enough to be able to get their tx's on the chain? How libertarian. Such altruism. You are a perfect fit for the blockstream dream of a bitcoin solely accessible from a private sidechain. No direct access to the non-monied proletariat. I think that is a seismic shift from satoshis original plan. How do you reconcile that? it's to early to decide a grow of the blocklimit. in the future the block reward will decrease and the fees have to increase. thats the vision of satoshi. but we have to handle it with calm. What do you think will happen to the millions of lost bitcoins ?

EDIT: it's true. slush's pool mined the first XT block! such a shame! Slush was the first pool ever, first to implement Stratum and now the first pool implementing XT as an option. All will be fine quite soon (see above), so it's not a shame, but just another first for Slush. I don't want to be a part of these which mine XT blocks but I did not have a choice! Such a shame!

I'm not sure that block is really an XT block. It was mined by Slush pool, which is still creating all version 3 blocks. That particular block has a bizarre version field for some reason. That's true. It could be a BIP 101 block... I don't really think it's either - the version in that block is "536870919", where the version field in a normal block (up to now) has been 1, 2, or 3. I don't think any of the current BIP proposals or XT client creates weird versions like that, do they? I would have expected maybe "4". I confess that I have not looked at the XT code to see what it puts in the version field, but I would not expect what appears to be a large random number. I think maybe the version field just got corrupted in that block somehow. Try looking at that number in hex, and then referring to the specs. i cannot find it in the code. currently i'm looking in block.h anyone able to identifiy it within the code? EDIT: was blind like a chicken. it is there. /** Blocks with version fields that have these bits set activate the bigger-block fork */ const unsigned int SIZE_FORK_VERSION = 0x20000007;

For those who inexplicably missed it: that's the first, and so far only, block that has its version number set to 536870919 (or 0x20000007 in hex) [1]. That number, in binary, sets a specific set of bits that signals to Bitcoin XT [2] that the block should count as vote in favor of a block size increase [3] as specified in BIP101 [4]. Slush announced on facebook that they will be supporting both Bitcoin Core and Bitcoin XT as choices for miners [5]. BS so far and nothing like a prove. where is the hex in the code? EDIT: it's true. slush's pool mined the first XT block! such a shame! /** Blocks with version fields that have these bits set activate the bigger-block fork */ const unsigned int SIZE_FORK_VERSION = 0x20000007;

I'm not sure that block is really an XT block. It was mined by Slush pool, which is still creating all version 3 blocks. That particular block has a bizarre version field for some reason. It is an XT block. Sadly. Slush confirmed it, saying they allowing miners to choose and using v3 for core blocks and 536870919 for XT blocks. Version: 536870919(10) = 0x20000007 (hex) source?

234 on Stamp now. Did we see the bottom a number of hours ago? I think the day opened at 224 so have we found the bottom? I'd really like it if we didn't go any lower than 220. Anybody got an opinion? Could we go any lower than 220?
don't modify the result with the answer to your question dude! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schrödinger%27s_cat
