4301  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you believe history repeat itself? Economic wise. on: June 02, 2021, 07:33:31 AM
Food price is surely soaring. Some items in the online store soaring in price too, can’t you ignore it wouldn’t impact your daily routine, the inflation drag everybody down into the rabbit hole, no one can escape this chaos.
At some point this will definitely be the reality of the human race. As population grows, there is bound to be food shortage. Shortage will increase scarcity, expectedly. And scarcity will highten demand and this invariably will kick price up. However, those that will be majorly hit are going to be those with fixed earnings. Their salaries/earnings remain stagnant losing its value as prices of goods and services skyrocket out of their reach. Those in business will nothwithstanding sell according to how they bought, except if they foolishly fail to utilize their business training.

...the inflation drag everybody down into the rabbit hole, no one can escape this chaos.
This isn't true. Those with investment acumen, especially those investing in Bitcoin and other cryptos won't be caught in this. A $2,000 invested in Bitcoin today will yield more in the future while the $2,000 not invested will have lost its value. So, it's advisable to put your investment in Bitcoin. It's inflation resistant.

4303  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Scalping even viable in Cryptocurrencies? on: May 30, 2021, 07:51:16 PM
Of course, scalping is highly possible. Even from your description in the OP, you're already doing it. So, why do you still doubt it? I trade but I'm more of a swinger. The issue you're going to have with scalping is that you will constantly have to be on your app or system monitoring trades. It takes more of your time than day trading or swing trading. Another defect is that a lot of bots are structured to also trade the way you trade. Once an order doesn't get quickly filled to hit a TP, it could easily revert to take one out by hitting the SL nor continue to run in loss. It will be a better choice to go into swing trading if I were you.
4304  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC become the world central currency? on: May 30, 2021, 05:54:24 PM
At the height of these challenges, came a pseudo human called Satoshi...
I believe it's more appropriate to say a human with a  pseudo name than a pseudo human. Satoshi's numerous fans may raise eyebrows for that malapropism. That said.

Well, on the issue of Bitcoin becoming the world central currency - this won't be possible. I don't see the possibility of that now or even in the future. My reason for saying that is based on the technicalities surrounding Bitcoin. It's not a tech for illiterate folks. It's workings make it so. Again, Bitcoin requires electricity to function. To be able to send or receive BTC one must have access to the internet and electricity. This, a lot of countries don't have.
4305  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop the FUD! Enough is enough! on: May 30, 2021, 02:28:06 PM
People selling now to the FUD are going to regret it later. Will it be in 1 month, 3 months, 1 year or 4 years? I don't know but I know they will regret it because they sell it to the big guys and they will remain poor for all their lives.
Nah! There are some smart dudes selling to buy back cheap. I think only those who don't buy back will be the ones to regret it once Bitcoin begins a fresh rally. Every shrewd businessman wants to always do a double on their investment and I believe that's what some of the smart traders are doing. As for anyone thinking that this momentary correction signals the end of bull runs, they're mistaken.

Again, just as FOMO is welcomed so also should FUD be. Both are necessary ingredients in this crypto industry. We shouldn't condemn FUD while hyping FOMO.

OP, you can seek what you ask for here through this link https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5121680.0 It's a handout thread for Nigerians. Area! I hail thee. Oya, shift come that corner for ogbenge yarns.
4307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How i define scam project? on: May 30, 2021, 08:39:07 AM
Welcome to the world of disappointment with bounties reneging on payments to hunters. It's a common thing in the crypto space. Here isn't an exception. However, your first step to avoiding such from happening to you, is to stay clear of bounties whose managers you don't trust. Don't trust what you read from BM's threads here without verifying their trust. Also, avoid bounties run by newbie accounts without proof of escrow. Read reviews on managers for past bounties they managed. You can get genuine reviews by visiting the telegram channels and groups of BMs. If members therein complain of unpaid rewards for bounties which were concluded several months ago, then you know you should avoid such managers and the bounties they run.
4308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All the crypto industry is running by shills on: May 30, 2021, 07:18:33 AM
In the way you explained it OP, I don't think there's anything wrong for someone to shill a token. Even those who hodl Bitcoin also do that (I wonder why you left Bitcoin out of it). For me, I see it as a form of advertisement. Before DYOR, one must've heard about the token in question. It's the way that a token is talked about that can draw one's attention to it and then one goes to research it. The only place I can find shilling offensive is if it's put in someone's place or space constantly. Otherwise, I see it as the regular traditional kind of advertisement made modern. Shilling is advertisement, simply put. Again no one can force anyone to buy what they don't want. Your consent is required in such issue.
4309  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we live without btc? on: May 30, 2021, 05:42:35 AM
To start with, Bitcoin is not oxygen. So, why not. The only thing we can't live without on this earth is Oxygen! Again, we had our life and led it well before Bitcoin or the idea of cryptocurrency was introduced. I don't see why we can't live without it now. Quite alright, the concept and tech of Bitcoin is phenomenal but we can't say it's indispensable. Who knows, may be another tech may displace it completely a decade or more from now just the same way Fiat displaced cowries, and cowries displaced Barter.
4310  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BNB price on: May 29, 2021, 05:52:01 PM
It’s easy for everyone to say this is a purchasing opportunity, but BNB is a bit of a victim of it’s own success. Early holders are getting massive returns on a daily basis and that creates a lot of sustained downward pressure. In times of cashing out, it will no doubt be hit harder than some other comparable coins, but this is also why it will have potentially greater longer period returns in a healthy market.
The scenario you painted here cuts across every coin that's having a great run from a low price. Investors will always take profit when it suits them. However, some of them will sell now and won't be able to get back in. It's the nature of the market. Even those who bought when BNB got to $600 also thought that at that point they were buying that they were buying into profit (of course, it will become profit if they tarry and don't panic sell )

Well I don’t think BNB will hit the $1k mark anytime soon,
This is where I get amused that even those who think BNB will get to $1000 may not even be buying at this opportunity that this crash is affording them. Skepticism and fear whenever the market flies the red flag.
4311  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of your first contact with BTC? on: May 29, 2021, 10:24:17 AM
What's great about it is, people can transact using BTC whether their governments are for it, or against it. Tongue That's the power of having an actual decentralized asset. They can illegalize it, but they can't technically ban it.
It's this feature that is preventing those governments banning BTC from crippling the finances of their citizens. The worse any dictotarial country can do is ban but can't prevent it's people from using it.

It's this same advantage that saved Nigerians at the time when the country's government banned Bitcoin because it wanted to prevent any future demonstration or rebellion after the stauch #endsars protest that rocked the country and gave the government more than what it bargained for. I believe in the next few years from now, any announcement of countries banning Bitcoin or cryptocurrency won't be shaking anyone again as people would've have got used to the fact that government can't destroy Bitcoin.
4312  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Many got REKT :( on: May 28, 2021, 03:36:25 PM
Fortunately for my I trade futures strictly. Whenever I notice a change in the trend or a slow-down in the uptrend. I switch from trading Inverse perpetual futures contracts to USDT perpetual futures contracts.

So no matter how deep the market goes, my initial margin never gets affected whether I am shorting or not. I also usually use reasonably tight stop losses
You must be really vast in trading cryptos, the way you explained it makes it look easy. I just stick to trading spot and don't do margin trading. It surprises me when people say dey got rekt trading. The only thing that can explain this situation happening within a short time is if traders trigger trades without stoploss and then allow the trades run with the belief it will revert to profit. I think as traders, caution should be exercised knowing well that trading is a profession and should be handled as a serious business. It's just the way we believe now that Bitcoin will rebound and head north, and then someone throws in all their life savings into buying it. This is a speculative business. Nothing is certain that it must happen the way we think it. Bitcoin could dip even from here for days before going up again. If that begins to happen that's where panic sets in for the trader and massive loss could ensue. The simple thing is that all should trade with caution, at all time.
4313  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: looking for a active trading companion on: May 28, 2021, 12:23:58 PM

Things I advise you to stay away from:

 - Opinions of famous people: 90% of them are FUD or SCAM.
 - Twitter/Telegram Analytics: 99% of them are managed by an AI group.
 - Headlines: Most of them are inaccurate.

The solution to all of these problems lies in learning and further learning.

This is not investment advice.
A lot of you guys here advise users to stay away from the above, especially Twitter/Facebook/Telegram. My question then is this — If people stay away from those, how are they going to learn? Aren't Twitter and Telegram a part of the social media like this forum and YouTube? Just like we have peeps saying thrash and trying to scam others on the above mentioned supposed "no-go-areas", so do we also have them here and on YouTube. The world is a terrible place. No place is a saint zone. Even in religious circles, people still get scammed and all nonsense stuff.

OP, it's not enough to get a trading partner if you can't pull the trigger yourself. I'm sure when that partner calls for a trade you may be hesitant hitting the buy or sell button yourself because of fright. Work on your emotion. That's what is inhibiting you.
4314  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trader took his own life after the recent huge dump on: May 28, 2021, 08:41:06 AM
We get to see stuff like this from losers who think life is a bed of roses and wouldn't want to take loss at any time. Commonsense should tell anyone that even among roses there are torns. Come to think of it, why don't we have people committing suicide during bull rally? You know why? It's simply because people like to win always. That's a wrong mindset.

Come to think of it, there's always that caveat of trading being highly speculative and that people stand to lose their capital in it. Sadly, those who go into trading tend to overlook all that warning and think that trading is a shortcut to getting rich. It's not. Life doesn't work that way. And to anyone who takes their own life because of failure or hardship, I don't have any sympathy for you. Sorry about my stand (if it offends you) but that's the way I see it.
4315  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will Trump be indicted ? on: May 27, 2021, 04:19:15 PM
Of all Trump's grifts, this one is one of my favorites:

https://time.com/5607302/donald-trump-state-park/

Bought some land for $3 million, tried to build a golf course but couldn't, then donated the land to the state and valued it at $26 million -
Wow! What a rip-off! Honestly, I thought this type of human greed only happens with leaders in the African continent. Now I know better. Going forward, I'm still amused as to why Donald Trump is yet to be charged with inciting his supporters to disrupt the Capitol while Congress was sitting on that said day of Jan 6, 2021 in his allegation of electoral malfeasance. It goes to show that even in the supposed sane societies laws are also bent to serve certain interest. In this case, it would seem that Americans may want to prevent a record from being set — of an indicted and imprisoned ex-president. I'm sure if the case is perused properly, Donald Trump will be found wanting to have broken a law or two.
4316  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 21 million bitcoins is the same as 21 trillion bitcoins (for us now) on: May 27, 2021, 01:28:34 PM
Snip>
Nah! Both supplies don't mean the same thing, whether in figures or in market interpretation. Bitcoin is able to pull up to this price level because of its limited supply. Remember that scarcity gives a thing its price value through demand. Anyday Bitcoin is increased to even as little as 50 million in max supply it will amaze you how fast the price will plummet. So you know that it isn't about inflation anything. It's the scarcity (apart from its pathfinder status) that gives Bitcoin an edge.

First things I do before picking a project is to find out its total supply and then its utility or use-case. I believe a lot of people also do that. Investors don't blindly throw away their money.
4317  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iran bans Bitcoin too on: May 27, 2021, 12:10:03 PM
AFAIK Iran bans Bitcoin mining not bans Bitcoin itself...
Yeah, sorry it escaped me. You're right.

It would be better to share the reference when posting topics like this.
Of course. The news was on several sites (I read from)  and I didn't think it would be in doubt or difficult for anyone who wanted to verify it. That was why I left that out. But I will make it a duty to include links for similar articles next time. Thanks.
4318  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Iran bans Bitcoin too on: May 27, 2021, 10:28:13 AM
Iran bans Bitcoin a few days after China did. This is coming after what seemed like an aftereffect of the Chinese action that saw Bitcoin dip severely (it still hasn't recovered from it).

I'm wondering if there are going to be any side effects or consequences for the Bitcoin community with the action taken by the Iranian government or is it just another case of "the snail shouldn't talk where animals with horns are asked for opinions"? Iran isn't such a big name in the crypto space, by the way.

According to report, the ban is a temporary one which will last only four months to enable the country correct its power blackout.

Do you think this ban from Iran is another FUD?
4319  Economy / Services / Re: 1xbit.com honest review campaign (open) on: May 27, 2021, 03:22:58 AM
I'm not a gambling person but I have a few words to say here in general perspective. I hope my view doesn't get deleted since this is a self moderated thread. What I see from 1xbit is a business/site trying too hard to right a wrong but sadly doing it the wrong way. The right way would be to sort out the numerous scam accusations against it and pay up those owed. Then watch how its publicity will understandably become positive. Without that, no amount of money spent on image laundering will bring it a positive tick.
