43081  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner Batch 4, Price changes daily, now 2309 USD for 1TH/s on: May 25, 2014, 05:27:55 PM
Looks like I will never buy a S2 if Bitmain keeps raising prices. I don't play these games.
The price is coming down.  4.033 BTC today, 4.277 BTC yesterday.  Looks like it's coming down to me.

If you are coin flush and holding the coins it dropped.  If you are going to buy coins with fiat it is more fiat.

What has happened is the s-2 is getting to be a little better then it was and the s-1 is getting worse then it was.

Kind of put me in a funny place to decide what to do.

 I can buy 1 s-2  or  2 s-1's.

Not quite sure If I want the s-2 just yet.. Decisions.
43082  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner Batch 4, Price changes daily, now 2309 USD for 1TH/s on: May 25, 2014, 04:29:25 PM
Looks like I will never buy a S2 if Bitmain keeps raising prices. I don't play these games.

yeah  both the s-1 and the s-2 have gone up……

I got 3 s-1's for  1.167 btc  520 usd on the day of the purchase  may 19th   with coupons

 If I buy 3 today with coupons  .372 x 3 = 1.116 btc       but that is 636    usd

so from may 19 to may 25  s-1's went from 173 to 212  usd

my purchase on the   5th of may was  .482 btc for 1 that was 209 at the time of purchase

I have to go back to  april 29th  when i paid .5 btc or 225   to be  at a higher price then today

makes the purchase harder to do
43083  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner Batch 4, Price changes daily, now 2309 USD for 1TH/s on: May 25, 2014, 02:02:38 PM
New price for AntMiner S2 1 TH/s Miner Batch 4: 2309 USD each one, shipping cost included.
Raising the price is not the best reaction to an exploding diff  Wink

To have a chance to get a ROI the price may not be much higher than 1500...

well since this is a usd price based not btc based like the s-1.  you need  btc fiat price to go to 850usd it would then make roi in usd fiat

maybe
43084  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Custom Built Mining Shed on: May 25, 2014, 11:45:18 AM
So you have 8 antminers right now (~3.2kW) and he 15,000 BTU ac unit doesnt quite cut it? (15000 BTC should suffice for ~3.5kW). How do you intend to add more miners?

Im faced with a similar problem with the coming canadian summer (still hot enough that there will be a few 30C heatwaves), and am unsure whether to go with an air conditioned location (that will require a 100,000BTC A/C if not larger) or to form enough ventilation that i might just have to deal with 30C intake temperatures and a crontab log to underclock everything during the heat of the day.

If you were doing the shed over again, what would you change?

would you make it smaller / would you triple the number of ventilation holes and run on pure airflow  /  would a window-mount AC be more efficient?
and, would having the ac on an inline airflow with all the wasteheat dumped outside prove more efficient than cooling the entire cold side of the shed?

I need a good plan to handle 10kW (if not 25kW) of heat

No, we have 26 currently. Adding 6 more tomorrow. Doing it over, I would make the cold side smaller and the hot side bigger. I just spent 2 hours today moving the middle wall up another foot and a half to do just that. This will make the area the AC is trying to cool smaller, put the ac closer to the miners, and give more room in the hot side to trap hot air and expel it. They key is to funnel as much hot air into the hot side and evacuate it quickly. Shields on the antminers might help. We might play with that next. I dont know... I dont want to spend too much more time on this. These dont need to have lives of years as they wont be worth it in a while.

From what I read, split AC systems like the one I got are more efficient than window units. I might upgrade the second exhaust fan to another 1350 cfm one over the 650.

Im not sure I understand what you are asking here "would having the ac on an inline airflow with all the wasteheat dumped outside prove more efficient than cooling the entire cold side of the shed?"

my guess is the ac blows its cold air directly at the intake fans.

I do have this suggestion  buy these

http://www.ebay.com/itm/151276722479?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

assuming the seller has more of them.  he charged me 107 usd for the 14.  add them like this.  this will really help pull the hot air out.

also if the oem push fan fails on any ant these will protect that ant from over heat.

these move air like a mofo

if you do not mind the noise  these work great.  these are delta 38mm fans  loud but 160 cfm. I got them on ebay used 14 for around 110 bucks.

my gear is running at 45 c in a 84 f degree  garage

they run push pull

they attach with 4 pipe cleaners and 4 nylon nuts

they power off the miner's power

It's sad that this campaign has come to an end.

This has been one of the best options for frequent posters since a long time.

I hope you guys get an opportunity to start this campaign again when the market for signatures gets better Smiley

Yeah I am retired and I post 200 to 300 posts a month.  this was a nice deal for me.  oh well.

I still like them so much I will leave my signature the same for 2 or 3 extra days.

Then on june 3rd or 4th d a new sig.

They deserve a give back.  My 3100 posts since I joined in 2012 will carry the sig for free.
43086  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAWMiners.com - NEXT GEN ASIC on: May 25, 2014, 12:11:31 AM
okay I am a bit lost but here goes.  Lets say I go to the website and order 3 fury units. week 3  order  .

 they cost 150 each x 3 = 450 usd.

I get a Zeus pi for free?

I plug the 3 fury units into an ATX  power supply .

I plug them into a usb hub
I plug the pi into same usb hub.

I plug the pi into an ethernet switch.

I log onto the pi   say the address is 192.162.x.x

like an ant minter   and drop my code in and I am mining at the Zues site?

so  first question is    can I run my grid seed blade on this? or is the blade locked out.

not knocking this just sounds like a lot of work  if my grid seeds are shut out this does not help much.

I need to decide if I want to let you host or if I want to run.

6 or 7 mining setups between all of my gear.

43087  Economy / Services / Re: WE PAY FOR SIGNATURE EVEN MORE. UP TO 0.0016 BTCs PER POST. WEEKLY PAYOUTS. on: May 24, 2014, 05:57:36 PM
well I am committed to ritz for now.  I see what is going on in June when I have been freed .  I do like 1 week payouts.
43088  Economy / Services / Re: ★★★ HIGHEST SIGNATURE PAYMENT ON THE BOARD - UPDATED - RitzGrandCasino.com ★★★ on: May 24, 2014, 05:43:06 PM
Important News:

As from May 31st 2014 we will cease with this signature campaign.
The reasons are as follows:
1) It simply isn't viable to continue with these high prices. The ROI is just not there.
2) It doesn't help, when the price of the btc is on the rise.

The Ritz Grand Casino does very well without the need of a signature program. In fact, the return visitors we get are incredible.  So we are here to stay.

Everyone will still be paid up until May 31st. You must remain with the program until payout day, (1st june) to be paid. We will still check on the posts

We would like to thank every one who has participated in our signature campaign.

Good luck to you all and thanks for your support.

Ritz Grand Casino

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I want to thank you for the campaign. It was a nice way to pick up some extra coin.  Thanks again.  In fact I will keep your signature for at least 2 or 3 days in June on me.
43089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question about Gridseed G-Blade PSU on: May 24, 2014, 04:55:19 PM
I have a bunch of nice atx power supplies laying around from gpu mining, is there any way I can leverage those?

yes   you need this

this tricks the psu into turning on.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261302980079?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

  then go to this guy

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=74397.msg6783806#msg6783806

you will be far better off and you will spend  less then70 bucks.    you will be able to power 3 blades.

as cablez has 3 plugs  2 sets have 6 plugs.

I have all the gear you have and I have the better gear.  night and day difference.

by the way your gear will pull 10 to 20 watts more as the psu you picked is under 80% more like 70%

you should reall get the cables by cablez

43090  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Lee group host miner]1800$! 1T bitcoin miner start to work for you within 24H on: May 24, 2014, 01:46:58 PM
still at 750 gh.

if you want to keep it at 750gh  and give me a price break send me a pm.

 we can negotiate something.

  thanks phil
43091  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner Batch 4, Price changes daily, now 2259 USD for 1TH/s on: May 24, 2014, 01:45:47 PM
Even with the coupon these S2s are still over 3.5 BTC. For 1TH/s that's over the top.

We need a step change again here bitmain (like you did with the S1). Bring these down to 2.5 BTC and start selling a pile of them.

My guess is they are waiting for the coupons to run out at the end of the month before doing a big price drop. They don't want to drop the price to say $1650 and then have people asking for $400 off that.

yeah that could be,

but I have june 2 coupons.

If you order a pair of  s-1's he gives  2 new s-2 coupons.
43092  Other / Off-topic / Re: In what sports do men and women compete at the closest to the same level? on: May 24, 2014, 01:30:12 PM
I was thinking tennis.
The top female pros are great, but they rarely get a chance to play the males.

Tennis? Definitely not. The female players will be destroyed by the male ones. The hard fought victory by Billie Jean King against the 55-year old Bobby Riggs can't be taken as an evidence to claim that the female players might be able to compete with the males.

Yeah.   tennis would be a no go.

 I like my 3  picks :

1) pool/billards/8ball/9ball
2) bowling
3) horse racing jockeys

In all of the above women have defeated men in world class events.

car racing is a good pick
shooting guns is also good

And one more :

there was a women fast toss softball pitcher  she would beat mens teams. pitch no hitters etc.

43093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Question about Gridseed G-Blade PSU on: May 24, 2014, 01:10:37 PM
I just bought 2 G-Blades, but didn't realize they didn't come with a power supply. Zoomhash is charging $25 per PSUs, with 2 PSUs per unit. Instead of spending a hundred dollars to power these blades, I decided to look online for a cheaper alternative. I found http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1811261 in a quick google search. With 2 of these PSUs, I could power both for only ~$70. I was trigger happy and bought the parts listed below, thinking I would just make my own cables. I realized after I checked out from amazon that the hardforum post was for the pods, not the blades.

My question: Is the barrel jack the same connector between the pods and blades?

Barrel Connectors: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0058RLD9C
Power Supply: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D7CWSCG
Wire: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003ZX8NX0

return it all.  then go to this guy

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=74397.msg6783806#msg6783806

buy from him  cost about  35 bucks  his are highest quality.   then  let me know you ordered them.

I will sell you this for 35 shipped.

do they price drop on the weekends? or should I wait until monday.

They dropped the price on a Sunday here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=417159.msg6667972;topicseen#msg6667972

Thanks.  I will look for a drop and order again. I was able to set up some at my friends office.

I think I can run 4 at his place   with under volt and down clock .  I can get 600 gh and 800 watts.

He shares a building 4 ways and splits the power bill 4 ways.

so I am getting power at 4 cents a k watt in his place vs 16 cents in my home.

my limit would be 4 units in his office but at 4 cents a k watt I smell roi.

That's a nice price for electricity if you can get it. What would be even better would be if the S2 came down to a more realistic price of 2 to 2.5 BTC - then we could all save on elecricity bills...

well diff jumped to  10.455 from 8.853   that is 18% jump  maybe they will do a good price adjustment.

43097  Other / Off-topic / Re: In what sports do men and women compete at the closest to the same level? on: May 24, 2014, 11:29:59 AM
Well there are always girls which are better than men. I think that depends from person to person. I will say gymnastics is for sure very close sport if you compare. But girls have for sure better moves in there if you ask me Smiley

how do you compare gymnastics?

what women can do the rings?  have you ever seen a woman do this:

http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=gymnast+doing+iron+cross&qpvt=gymnast+doing+iron+cross&FORM=IGRE#a

most events are just not the same.

But I do agree that I prefer watching the women.
43098  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: GAWMiners.com - NEXT GEN ASIC on: May 24, 2014, 11:22:07 AM
It's always a pleasure doing business with GAW, extremely decent of you guys to sort out the rusty 5-chip issue despite it being in no way your fault, this is why I don't buy from anywhere else.  Cool

Hey Josh, I'd like to throw out an idea for you. IF GAW could put out a photo(s) of the day (during these next few crazy weeks). Maybe a behind the scenes, maybe hardware....everybody likes pictures.  Smiley

Agreed! Some photos would be awesome to help us through the last remaining few days anticipation before we get our hands on our new GAW miners.  Grin

yeah they squared me away on the 'old' five chip gridseeds.

I now have a credit and can't make up my mind on what gear to get with it.

GAW has been spectacular fixing any and all problems I have had with gridseed orders.
