4321  Other / Meta / Re: Why my "$2 to be paid in $1 + $0.5 + $0.5 format offer" thread removed? on: December 05, 2015, 09:58:37 AM
Why has my topic been removed w/o me being given any kind of explanation or anything?
https://i.imgur.com/WkkL2IP.png

Sure, I am New here but it does not mean I am a scammer!

Scams are not moderated. Most common reasons to remove a topic: offtopic to crypto (e.g. you dont accept bitcoin or any other alt coin), double threads (you already have an existing thread).

Everyone has to start from scratch. Even the most trusted member of this forum was a newbie on the day s/he registered here. If you guys keep deleting my thread(s) & keep posting shit that I am scammer (just because I am newbie) even w/o dealing with me then how on Earth can I gain trust ?

I have openly posted my profile links to other forums. If even that's not a good enough proof then I am ready to give anything you guys want to deal with me or start having trust in me.

I am already getting sick of this forum. This forum DOES NOT have ANY set RULES for accessing Market Place & then scammers come, create New accounts & scam users which results in users like me getting punished for things which we'll NEVER EVER do i.e. scamming!

Why on Earth administrator of this forum not apply rules to access Market Place? Something to keep away scammers? I assume he gets incentives from number of scams happening here. More scams, more money for him. He is himself encouraging scams here & then so called senior members fuck up every newbie here.

Scams are not moderated because:

#1 mods cant know all scams
#2 mods dont have the time to check all services/sites/etc. for possible scams
#3 mods could misuse the power to decide what is a scam and what not, so there would be an extra layer of mod moderation needed
#4 if mods remove known scams, users might feel secure where they cant "it cant be a scam because it would have been removed"

Why NOT implementing a rule of account being at least one month old with 50 quality posts (each of these posts has be at least 10 words or more) and no change in IP (unless proven legal) should be there in the account in order to access Market Place?Huh?

What would that do? What is a "legal" IP change anyway?

I am pretty sure even thread will be deleted or wil make some seniors fume at me BUT I am really pissed off here & would like to understand everyone's opinion & willing to debate here.

Another pissed off user,
Sagar

Can I get a signed message from 1KB4tsU3e2SdbbPRrDeg6AHsHPYkqDCdDx for that? Any other address tied to aakashsangwan is also fine.

I even prewrite it for you.

Code:
this is aakashsangwan (UID: 496523) from bitcointalk and today is 2015.12.05.
I sell the bitcointalk account equator (UID: 530039) to the person named Premlatha N. on facebook.
The agreed price is 0.038 btc. The price is not tied to the BTC value in other currencies.
The amount has to be paid as soon as possible by earnings via signature campaigns or other means.
I am aware that this can take a long time and will not try to regain access to the account or try to reclaim for any reasons.
Payment is to be done to my bitcoin address: <insert address here>

Keep in mind that the rating will not be removed, but changed to neutral. I think anyone should be able to inform themselfs easily about this.
i can not provide the signed message from that address, but can give you the private key for it, as i have stated the reason for that in the op. Please reply if that is fine to you, i can pm ~sho the bitcoin addy and the private key of that addy

If you have the private key you can sign a message, educate yourself[1]. Its your deal, not mine, you dont let a stranger from the streets sign your contracts for you do you? Its bad enough that you have not done this properly the first time. I will change the rating for equator to neutral so they can start right away. If you want yours removed, sign the message with the payment address.

how much for 1tigerfree ??

A rough estimate for it without exact case is 3 BTC. Im not near the machine with the GPU though, so its just based on the difficulty.

Edit: Slight miscalculation would cost 5.947 BTC, would take a few years.

Maybe 1tigerf with exact case for 0.0087 btc?

Hello BitAurum how i can update my bitcoind by command line in centOs without affect the wallet and transactions was made before ?

The same way you installed the old version[1]. Make a backup of your wallet.dat just in case. In includes your transaction history as well as all your private keys.

[1] AFAIK there is no rpm for CentOS, so I assume you did it with the tarball

How hard is it for you to understand you help the bad guy.
-snip-

It is very hard for me to understand you. I dont know if thats a language issue or you are just not trying to answer my questions.

You claimed you have a signed message, where is it?
You claimed you got the very signed message that is in the OP. I asked you to clarify this, because it makes no sense to get a signed message that asks for a reset in an account deal. You failed to do so.
You claim to be playing some game (PM) here, some bluff. I dont know why, unless you have nothing to show for your side of the story. If you indeed have nothing, take it as a lesson. If you have something, spit it out.
The above points no longer matter, but they added greatly to my confusion, well done, make it harder to help you.
You claimed to have bought the account, yet have shown nothing, not even a transaction.

Here is the last PM I got, maybe someone can help me understand it. All I understood was that Oceriw has no signed message. So the "bluff" was indeed an empty hand, not sure what you tried to accomplish with this.

Hi Shorena,

I played some bluf poker to this scammer. If he would reacted first he would probably say it's wasn't him and that the account was hacked.

Which can't be possible because the pass was changed once.

?? Can you rephrase that

Sure.
This guy sold me his account, claiming that i had hacked him.

Yes, but do you have a signed message? You ignored this question in the thread.

But as you can see in the log's the password was only changed once.

Yes.

If I say you sent me this signed message when yousold it to me

this? which signed message, you have not posted a single signed message. Or havargas your account as well?

(he would think i shit).

I dont understand that.

So then he would say> No someone hacked me and sent you the password.

Yes, you claim you bought the account and that the person in the thread tries to get the account back now. I get that.

Which makes it impossible since the password was only changed once (after i bought it).

I know I am newbie so trust level is quite low. But tell me

1) If i hacked this account. Would i take the risk to get it banned and myself be banned or life, or would i sell it and take profit?

I dont know, sometimes hacked accounts (sr.+) are used to spam the forum.

2) If you got hacked would you post a topic only or would you alert the admin? And the admin he can check the logs + will contact me. Then i sent him the PM i got from the seller and it would prove my purchase right?

If I lost control over my account I would create a thread and write BadBear & theymos. Are you saying you have a signed message but you wait for the admins to contact you?

Nothing of the above however explains:
Quote

Whats the bluff here?

I have a feeling you make this more complicated than it needs to be. Due to english not being your first language its already complicated enough. If you continue like this I would not be surprised if this just dies down without a resolution. The admins dont have much time. If you make this a game of hide and seek, they will just not play it.

-Sho

Let's make it an example of How I think it would have been played out.

This scammer fake a scam accusation by me with an mention of a signed message.
>> I did not get it but i bluff that he sent it to me. He is confused if he sent it or not. Confused since I said i had it and he also had it.

The scammer knows that the only way to stand by his story is to claim that another guy hacked the account and sent me a (not the) signed message. (I just googled the signed message and I got a better understanding of it).
>> I react to him, it's not possible that his account was hacked and sold, since a password was only changed once...

P.S. Don't you think it is weird that even today Havargas has come online and not 1 reaction to my message has been posted. Not 1?
Almost 5 days has past and not 1 reply at all. Don't you think his plan is done? To make this account unusable with the negative trust. Again if it was your account. Would you just open a thread with a new account, then log in and don't react in your own thread?
4329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unconfirmed transaction with a fee for more than 4 hrs ? on: December 04, 2015, 08:38:28 PM
I have a transaction that never got confirmed, even tho there are more than 4 hrs passed:

89148a3e5a97567b8a5226df6580fa543205f692835613d649d7656e002c0fd5

is this transaction real ?
Why doesn't it get at least 1 confirmation ?

Its "real" and it will get a confirmation. Its just that there are many others waiting for a confirmation currently.

4330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transactions take very long WHY? on: December 04, 2015, 08:31:21 PM
You mean this https://blockchain.info/tx/55ad22cc23dd04b5654caad77634c79ced9505f2471566e9a79707eaba66a67b ?
I see that the fees here are too low tho: 0.00000226 BTC..
Besides, for your other transaction sent today, this is also true
Based on shorena's node, the mempool size is relatively big right now, [ img]http://213.165.91.169/pic/mempool24h_v2.png[/img] Most of the recent blocks are quite big as well.

I used Bitcoin-QT wallet and set the fee through there, setting it on "fast" which was the highest setting available. Never really used manual fee setting, but as I understand the network is on overflow at the moment.

Most of the time the fastest setting is actually not the best. Open bitcoin core, let it run for a while and see for yourself. Currently I have

fastest - fee: 0.00001 btc/kb (Smart fee not initialized yet. This usually takes a few blocks...)
1 lower - fee: 0.00019988 btc/kb Estimated to begin confirmation within 2 blocks.
lowest - fee: 0.00007789 btc/kb

As you can see the 2nd fastest option is 20 times higher than the fastest. Even the lowest setting is higher than the fastest. It matches your TX perfectly (fee in satoshi = size in bytes). The TX itself is fine, its just that there are so many transactions that bitcoin core cant determine how high a fee should be for your transaction to be in the next block. Since it cant work out a value it falls back to the default fee. Sadly, this is currently too low. Im afraid you have to wait a bit. Keep bitcoin core open it will rebroadcast your transaction to make sure the network does not forget about it. You send spend a relativly high amount (~0.44 btc) chances are you will get a confirmation within the next 1-2 days. This is because higher value inputs get higher priority over time.

Thanks for the info, sadly still not through, but I guess i'll have to be patient.

Looks like its a bad time to have a pending TX with low fee.

There is something you can try though. You can remove the transaction from your wallet. It will forget about it and stop to broadcast it. If the rest of the network also forgets about it you can resend it with a higher fee. You can do this by

#1 close bitcoin core
#2 start bitcoin core with -zapwallettxes
#3 wait

To start bitcoin core with -zapwallettxes is different depending on your operation system, for windows you:

#1 hit win + r (to open "run")
#2 enter: c:\Program Files\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe -zapwallettxes
#3 confirm with "ok"
#4 bitcoin core will start normally (checking blocks) and rescan all transaction data, this can take a bit depending on your disk/cpu speed

Hi, Obits signature campaign lowered minimum post count become 50 posts per month.

Owner messaged me and i have a treat for you guys. Minimum post count for the month has been lowered to 50 posts. I will still expect to see a few days  a week of posting form users though. If i notice you logging in 1 day a week you will most likely be kicked from the campaign

Therefore, it wouldn't make much sense to send the change to the sending address.

true, but when they designing software that will send change to 'old' addresses it would make much much much more sense that sending address is used instead of second key in the wallet, i mean, come on

IMHO both versions make not much sense, I suspect it was a limitation of Multibit Classic to keep the number of generated keys low. MultibitHD uses a new address for change as it should.

If you checked all backups you might want to search the disks of the computer(s) you use. Data stored is commonly not really deleted until its overwritten. Maybe some of the lost keys can still be found. Its something I would let an expert do though.
4333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Wallets and (un)compressed keys on: December 04, 2015, 12:32:17 PM
Hello everyone,

Can someone list me what (desktop) wallets use uncompressed private keys (and which ones use compressed pk's)?
If I'm correct, a client that uses uncompressed keys (Electrum) can't import compressed keys, right? because you will end up with a different bitcoin address.

Thanks ;-)

Most wallets should now generate compressed keys. If the wallet can export the private key in WIF (Wallet Import Format) you can see by the prefix whether the public key should be hashed compressed or not. Prefixes starting with 5 are for uncompressed keys while L and K are for compressed keys.

Generally speaking all wallets should be able to handle both compressed and uncompressed pubkeys.

Edit: words

i am posting the screen shot of the convesation between me and aakash sangwan in facebook selling the equator account to me (premlatha)

http://imgur.com/gallery/jqyAmkn/new

please help me out of this scam, and get removed the negative trust so that i can join signature campaign,

So you have not paid what you promissed to have paid on 26th of november (1 week as agreed). Its also only a part of the communication.

Currently I think the best thing to do is to summarize this, rephrase the ratings and be done with it.

So Summary:

#1 aakashsangwan[1] farmed the account equator[2]. (unconfirmed)
#2 aakashsangwan tries to auction the equator account[3], but the auction fails[4]
#3 aakashsangwan gives the account to "Premlatha N." via facebook[5] they agree on 0.038 BTC payment within a week to 1MEv8g6PZYcBeYknbosQzB1YY16iP41Aqv
#4 still unclear, but the above address has not received payment.
#5 aakashsangwan creaste the alt "hacked account"[6] to reclaim equator.
#6 "hacked account" posts several lies, about the suposed hack of equator
#7 aakashsangwan denies to be involved

Suppose I was a hacker and I find all his posts with the btc adress replace it and I can pretend i am the owner.

No, edited posts are not accepted. If you modified all message and there is no address quoted by someone else the account has no legit address to sign with.

After a week weeks google will reindex it and I am good to go. To me that sounds  not like a certaintly that a signed message is 100% security.

For me an escrow is a 100% security now, but the signed message not, maybe I don't understand it yet.

There is no 100% anyway.

@Madwica
You are right too, it was too cheap and that's why I fastened the deal, not asking for an escrow (just .049 BTC at risk) or a signed message. Never I will do this again...

However havargas
1 Also you came online today and didn't even in your own Hacked thread? I have contact the admin also.
2 Buying an account is allowed, but scamming people is not. They got the tools to check your login history/ip and believe me banning scammings from bitcointalk and the bitcoin scene is one their main goals.

Scamming is not against the rules. Scammers will not get banned.

To answer your last PM: I dont get it and I dont care anymore. Get this sorted out here, publicly, stop sending me messages. If its sorted out I will remove my rating.
4338  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Private Key on: December 03, 2015, 10:53:10 PM
how's is it still revealing my private key? if I show you my key as

5hutyAewDs9BsUqVh1Nivythf49VvEzGXpDYj37ZLtDxdDyXN7D

how would you even decode this to my real key?
Because that is the real private key. That is in what is known as Wallet Import Format. You enter this type of string into a wallet in order to import a private key, so it stands to reason that the private key can be derived from this string, and it can. That is actually the private key, just encoded into a certain format. That is the private key encoded in Bitcoin's base58CheckEncoding. Since the actual private key that is encoded is not hashed, it can thus be decoded into the actual key. So sharing your private key like this is actually sharing your private key and will result in your Bitcoin being stolen.

This is not my Actual Private Key!  I wanted a way to generate a Private Key like

5BitcoinwDs9BsUqVh1Nivythf49VvEzGXpDYj37ZLtDxdDyXN7D

so I can print it out on paper as

5hutyAewDs9BsUqVh1Nivythf49VvEzGXpDYj37ZLtDxdDyXN7D

Yes, I realize that, I misunderstood your question there.

As others pointed out. Those 7 characters is not much protection. It will not take terribly long to brute force what those seven characters are.

those are just a sample

i can replace those 7 letters with 13 letters, or start at the middle

5wDs9BsUh1NivythGuessBitcoinf49VvEzGXpD7ZLtDxdDyXN7D

and have it display as

5wDs9BsUh1NivythjeEsdVnt35saf49VvEzGXpD7ZLtDxdDyXN7D

If you want to print it encrypted use BIP38. If you think your idea will protect your coins, by all means do it. Just dont use that for the coins of others.
4339  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanity Private Key on: December 03, 2015, 09:45:32 PM

To be honest, I don't want it to look good, I wanted to be easily remember.

take the private key I wanted to generate

5BitcoinDs9BsUqVh1Nivythf49VvEzGXpDYj37ZLtDxdDyXN7D

I want to store this in plain sight but instead I posted it as

5hutyAewDs9BsUqVh1Nivythf49VvEzGXpDYj37ZLtDxdDyXN7D

Since I only know to Change the 7 Letters back when I need to use my Private key, I can plainly put this on my computer or email me a copy without worrying about people getting hold of my Actual Key

It's similar to breaking down your private key into two parts, but this way, one part is easily remembered and recovered.

If you did this (replace the 7 actual characters "Bitcoin" with the junk characters "hutyAew" and you gave me the string 5hutyAewDs9BsUqVh1Nivythf49VvEzGXpDYj37ZLtDxdDyXN7D then I could easily write a program to very easily recover the original string "Bitcoin" within a few seconds (just by checking the checksum), crack your private key, and take all of your Bitcoins.

You really do not want to mess with this!

Considering you only need to do sha256d for the check which can be done by old mining GPUs ~500 million times per second (500 MH/s) you probably need longer to write the code than to execute it. If we assume 361 billion englisch words[1] it would take ~12 minutes to try all of them. Keep in mind that we could also eliminate all words with non base58 symbols. The estimate is probably too high, as we cant just "count up" and reloading data takes time.

if you compare for example the deaths casued by Adolf Hitler/WW2 and compare deaths per year each year (around 6 million) as a result of poverty you will start to realise that the economy is the problem and not the unit of transaction.

You earned a godwin point.
