4321  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: November 23, 2017, 10:26:50 PM
Hi guys, quick question, do I need to post every single day to rank up? (I didnt post anything on the  17th so not sure if it had any effect). Thanks

No, but you need to make sure you make at least one post in each activity period. If you don't you will lose that activity for ever. As long as you make at least one post in each period you can then accumulate activity and collect it at a later date by making the required posts.
4322  Other / Meta / Re: How to Unbanned Bitcoin Forum Account? on: November 23, 2017, 09:51:25 PM

I totally agree with you but it was not all I did I did read
Other posts but did not comment on them as I did not
Have knowledge to comment on them, I said I joined to learn
Not for rank you should rethink you views not all are
So well versed as you, newbie new instead of being arrogant
You should guide and assist, than why have these sections of post on YOUR forum

If you join to learn then just read and don't post. Why would you post nonsense if not just for the sake of rank as it gets you nowhere and contributes nothing to the forum in the process. It's obvious you were just quickly and lazily posting nonsense just to try rank up as fast as you can. Are you telling me you have no intention of joining a signature campaign at some point? And we have an off topic board for any other discussion threads that don't belong anywhere else, but that doesn't mean people can abuse it by spamming one/two/three word answers in largely pointless threads. You broke several rules by making unsubstantial posts like the following and they contribute nothing at all other than helping the degradation of the forum:

Looks promising

Will do well, and go up in value.

Your post history doesn't look that bad (i have seen worser), but you did break the rules.

His post history is almost entirely terrible and it got much worse very fast.
4323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk English Premier League pool betting Discussion Thread on: November 23, 2017, 09:32:46 PM
I wonder if anyone outside of the top five or six can win it? It's obviously not impossible and the top five are very consistent so it's very hard to catch them but there's a couple of users that have shot up from pretty far down the table like g-spot and rickbig (still waiting for him to tell us whether he's making his own predictions or using a tipster Grin).

Actually I am comparing some of the predictions and weigh if they really has a point with their explanations...  Grin Looks like I am lucky this past weeks, I've been scoring higher than before... If I hit another 120 this week, I will have a 4 digit score(I really wish)...  Cheesy

Hmmm... Playing your cards close to your chest I presume   Grin. Care to tell us which of these tipsters you weigh up before you make a decision?
4324  Other / Meta / Re: How to Unbanned Bitcoin Forum Account? on: November 23, 2017, 08:40:05 PM
Just sincere replying, mostly in off topic general post like apple or samsung

Well there you go. You should have read the sticky in off topic: Low quality topics and posts are not allowed https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1334019.0

This is a bitcoin forum and off topic is not just a sub board for you to quickly try spam your way through activity and ranks. If you haven't got anything constructive to offer then you're really not welcome here.

4325  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: November 23, 2017, 08:37:05 PM
I don't know which fcking planet you morons live on but I'm construction worker/trucker and insults and obscenities are mandatory, they are an art form.

That would explain why lower intelligence people flock to those jobs...

Profanity is a sign of a weak mind.

Completely agreed - hence why there is sooo much of this going on at this time

I thoroughly disagree. Just throwing in a random f-bomb or some other such profanity every other word for the hell of it is usually unnecessary and puerile, but a well placed 'fuck' or even some other extreme expletives can be a sign of true comedic genius. People can get very inventive with their cursing. George Carlin, for example, who was a master of both comedy and the English language, in my opinion.

Good idea. But won't it be misused as well ? Will there is a proof for the Trust + and Trust - that someone gets.
I get this is a good system. Just want to be sure that it is scam proof.
I mean, I will blindly trust someone who has some good + ratings but then it should be legit.

Yes, it is misused and abused as are all feedback systems, so not sure why would you blindly trust someone based on this. That's exactly why people get fooled and scammed. The feedback system is there as a guide to help you make up your mind about a user based on the information provided. Somebody could have 100 green feedbacks but all just for being a helpful and knowledgeable user, but that doesn't mean they won't run off with the first bit of money they are entrusted with. It's a well known fact that some people here just do cheap trades with certain people just to get a 'green trusted' feedback so they can then appear trusted when in fact all they've done is spent $5-20 dollars on something they almost certainly didn't even want or need.
4326  Other / Meta / Re: Images in posts disabled for newbies on: November 23, 2017, 07:55:03 PM
Due to abuse, newbie-posted embedded images are now disabled on these pages:
- Topic display
- Recent posts / patrol
- Previews
They're not currently hidden in PMs or on some other pages (like a user's "show posts" page), though I might change that later if it seems necessary.

Disabled images get transformed into links automatically. When the poster becomes a Jr member, the images that he tried to post previously will automatically be re-enabled (though there might be a few minutes of delay).

This extends to all past posts as well as future ones.

I upgraded to copper member, but images not converting. Any info why its happening??

Did you post the thread? Apparently it's a bug and they just don't show up in the preview but will when you post the actual thread.

Edit:

This shows up fine to me:

I am upgraded to Copper member, but still cant post an image

4327  Other / Meta / Re: Why I can't post image?? on: November 23, 2017, 07:46:02 PM
A newbie rank is not allowed to post pictures. Your best bet is to ask somebody to post it for you.

Thanks for the reply. When I'll be able to post image? After how much days or how many post do I have before join member?

You need 30 activity & posts and you can get 14 activity every two week period so you will have to wait at least another two weeks to be able to achieve that. Alternatively, you can purchase the Copper rank which will allow you to post images and remove some other restrictions:

Lol he messaged me earlier:

Hello sir,
I'm a Vietnamese translator.
So
Can i post ANN and Bounty thread in  Other languages/locations ?

"I NOT SPAM"

Not sure what he doesn't get when I say it's not even allowed in the first place.

Definitely confirmed this sure is bringing a shame and affecting the image of those businesses in the interest it is the very reasons why people are afraid to take a risks to made investment decisions in the internet which is one of the core reasons people are still denying the legitimate existence of bitcoin because they are afraid of these fraudsters and scammers affecting our cryptocurrency.

Campaigns don't care. They pay people in money they've created for free. I think there should be some sort of verified list of translators though because scammers are just getting away with this far too easy with no sorts of checks. It's probably first come first served and the cheapest will often get the contract and when you buy cheap you usually get what you pay for.
4329  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images on: November 23, 2017, 05:44:20 PM
I hope there is an alternative payment like ETH payment because transaction fee in bitcoin is much higher than the amount you need to pay.

The forum is unlikely to start accepting alt coins. Bitcoin will be the only option unless there's a real interesting project coming up but theymos has never really indicated he supports the alt coin market. You could always send a very small transaction fee and get it accelerated by a pool you might have to wait a little longer than usual but it could work that way.

Exactly, this is a bitcoin forum and only takes in payment via bitcoins.

Though newbies are new in bitcoin but they are also a user of bitcoin. As a user of bitcoin like other high level user they have a right to use image. By paying a small fee to enable their images is a divided system may be.

They don't according to the admin. The decision to remove the ability for newbs to post images was removed due to abuse by a certain individual spamming the forum with pornographic images by bots. This put a stop to that. It might be annoying for newbies and is a shame it happened but you only have to wait to become a Junior Member which isn't long (or just pay the fee if you can't or don't want to wait).
4330  Other / Meta / Re: What if Me and My wife use Same Internet Connection Same IP address. on: November 23, 2017, 05:32:18 PM
What I realize is you both cant participate in the same campaign. Otherwise there is no issues in using the same internet as few friends using the modem one internet connection in one room so it is not a issue at all.

Then why isn't them being on the same campaign allowed? The campaign rules are generally that you can't have more than one of your own accounts on them, but if they're different people (arguable/debatable) then there would be no issue. Besides, it would be down to the campaigns to enforce and unless they slip up and are found out or grassed up by someone it would be very difficult for them to police effectively.

It's hard for me to get a handle on how popular signature spamming is among these 3rd world country shitposters.

How's it hard to grasp? It's pretty logical. They're a country where poverty and low wages are rife, so this forum is a godsend to them. Doesn't matter if they can't speak English, they just want to earn in whatever way they can (can't really blame them though but that doesn't justify their actions or excuse their behaviour and the way they will try cheat campaigns in any way they can etc).

We've now got entire fucking families (birth control, anyone?) coming here with the sole purpose of squatting out garbage.  Probably even the little runt shitbags who can't even write in their own language come here.  Join the fun!

That's exactly what is happening and it's only going to get worse as time goes on if we don't start clamping down on it. Ways have been proposed but ignored by theymos sadly.

Thread title: Is your husband or wife a worthless sack of shit?

Wife account: Yes.
Husband account: Hey fuck you bitch. Why u no anal?

Are these hilariousandco words really!! Shocked
Never thought he could speak such words, anyways this world is hard.

So is my dick....  Grin. Couldn't resist. Sorry.
4331  Other / Meta / Re: Q: Should hilariousandco *really* be a moderator of bitcointalk A: no on: November 23, 2017, 05:26:34 PM
In light of recent additional information revealed about Lauda, I would like to know:
Does hilariousandco believe Lauda when she says she was only trying to "pad posts" when he tried to buy forum accounts?
Does hilariousandco believe Lauda when she says she only owned/controlled two accounts ever?
Does hilariousandco believe that Lauda has never bought nor sold any bitcointalk.org accounts?
Does hilariousandco have any information to suggest that any of the above may not be true?

The answers (or lack thereof) may very well be an indication of the judgment of hilariousandco.

Can you answer me this:

QS, can you answer me this: Do you think you should still be on default trust? Do you think I should add you? Would you lose respect or gain respect for me if I added you? Would be interesting to know.

The answers (or lack thereof) may very well be an indication of the judgment of Quickseller.

Post from your main account pest. Your actions are so predictable.

I'm waiting for your alt Gorgonzolla to complain about this. Roll Eyes

I love how he carries on like he thinks nobody knows who this account belongs to for sure and insists on this good cop bad cop thing. It's almost like e-schizophrenia.
4332  Other / Meta / Re: Sending a message to a lot of users on: November 23, 2017, 05:18:41 PM
Hello,

How can I send a message to a lot of users at a time? Let's say 100 users for example
I need it to contact our Bounty participants

Regards,
eduinvestor

You can't send messages to that many people. It's capped at about 15 or so (can't remember the exact limit). You'll just have to try send them in the maximum allowed batches whether manually or with some bot, but as above, if people report your PM as spam you could face repercussions of a temp/permaban because of it. It might be best emailing them if you have their addresses or look at other ways of contacting them (did they sign up via an external site etc?). You could also maybe just update your bounty thread or title with the message/note alerting them to whatever it is you want them to be made aware of.

4334  Other / Meta / Re: New design of profile in bitcointalk.org on: November 23, 2017, 05:12:22 PM
I'm not sure what you mean by a new league so if you could expand on that more clearly that would be great. Also the photo you speak of I assume if the avatar which is available once you become a certain rank which is called full time member.

I think he just means another member rank or unlocking some soft of achievement with a badge or something like they have on some other forums. There are certain little unique 'badges you can get like these ones:

Badges

I added a system of badges to SMF a while ago, though only two are defined now. Here are the current badges:

Bitcoin expertDev&Tech only. People with this badge know enough about the Bitcoin network to reimplement something very like it from scratch. They are capable of intelligently discussing the Bitcoin network: current protocol, possible attacks, proposed changes, etc. Criteria: Recommendation by an existing Bitcoin expert or core dev and approval by a forum administrator.
Bitcoin-Qt core developer Dev&Tech only. These are the core developers of Satoshi's Bitcoin client. They are listed here. Core developers are among the top contributors to Bitcoin-Qt, and they are all bitcoin experts, though they don't also get that badge.
The Glider(hacker symbol) Awarded for people who have responsibly disclosed forum security flaws.

A core dev does not "outrank" a bitcoin expert (or vice-versa), and it's possible for someone without a badge to contribute meaningfully to a discussion with experts and core devs.

I think there should be another rank added after (or before) Legendary which is at 1550 activity though, because so many people are now legendary and it will just become more common as time goes on if no new ranks are added.
4335  Other / Meta / Re: Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images on: November 23, 2017, 06:03:14 AM
To what rank will the Cooper Member be equated if you participate in the Bounty?

How will the forum have any bearing on that decision? What or if at all campaigns or bounties decide to pay for it is entirely up to them but they will probably still go by whatever your existing rank is unless they state othetwise.
4336  Other / Meta / Re: Account stolen on: November 21, 2017, 01:15:58 PM
I sent a PM
but I do not have a bitcoin wallet

Have you ever sent one via PM to someone or posted any other sort of crypto address anywhere? If not, then you'll have to try convince cyrus some other way that the account belongs to you, but I wouldn't hold your breath because there's a backlog of cases and if you can't easily prove the account is yours you might be out of luck or waiting a very long time.
4337  Other / Meta / Re: Delete Older Posts on: November 21, 2017, 01:12:57 PM
i have 2 questions :
1. can i delete my older posts ?
2. and if it possible to delete older posts how about the rank if there are many posts that i delete ?
thank you

One: Yes, you can delete older posts (as long as they're not in auctions and staff wont delete them for you)
Two: It is possible you could lose rank if you delete all the posts you made in an activity period.
4338  Other / Meta / Re: Account stolen on: November 21, 2017, 12:54:08 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

Then you need to follow the instructions above and pm Cyrus with the signed message so he can restore it to you.
4339  Other / Meta / Re: What if Me and My wife use Same Internet Connection Same IP address. on: November 21, 2017, 12:08:25 PM
"Wife". Though as I've been saying for years it's not going to be long before the only people posting here are shitposters and their entire families on multiple accounts. Well, that's obviously already happened if you see the number of threads asking why their "wife" and/or brother/mother/cousins account was banned.

Dude, this forum has jumped the shark.  Officially.

You've only just realised this? Jumping the shark isn't the right term. More like finally sucked down the drain in a torrent of shite that it has been dangerously circling for so many years.

Actually I have a doubt that me and my wife using the same internet connection in my home.

I think IP address will be the same. I want to know any technical issue in the signature campaign will raise if yes please advise for the solution.

Perhaps you wouldn't mind letting us know the account your wife has? Since it belongs to different people, you might let us know about it.

Lol. Nice try.

AFAIK, even mod's don't have the privilege to look at the ip logs... Only Theymos and Cyrus can look at those (AFAIK).

Correct.

However, if a sig campaign manager suspects you and your wife are alt's, and he/she asks Theymos to look at the ip logs (altough i seriously doubt Theymos has enough time to honour such requests to begin with), chances are you'll be kicked from the campaign and end up on the SMAS blacklist.

This wouldn't happen. The admins aren't going to get involved with someone cheating a signature campaign with a couple of alts accounts especially since it isn't against the forum rules. However, if you're shitposting en mass on 200 accounts that's a different matter and may or may not be looked into (but they rarely do these days due to the workload and lack or time the available admins have, sadly).

Bumping each other's threads could get you into trouble. Also you should keep your arguments off the boards. Smiley

Haha. It's only a matter of time before someone creates such a thread to air out their domestic disputes. Why wouldn't they when they can get paid to do it?

Thread title: Is your husband or wife a worthless sack of shit?

Wife account: Yes.
Husband account: Hey fuck you bitch. Why u no anal?
4340  Other / Meta / Re: proxy ban on: November 20, 2017, 06:08:34 PM
Try the WiFi in a McDonalds or somewhere like that. There is less chance of Bitcoin users being there.

Probably not if you're in the Philippines or Indonesia haha. Doubt you'd be able to find a public wifi connection on the continent of South East Asia that wasn't proxy banned already  Grin. I can just imagine them all camped outside McDonals or Starbucks leeching the free wifi and shitposting away noon until night.
