4321  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-2-13]Can we Expect a Bull Run in the Cryptocurrency Market any time Soon? on: February 13, 2019, 09:54:11 PM
Why are these reporters saying that bitcoin is struggling to survive. The bear market is a normal thing that hits every asset at some point and bitcoin is coping with it very well. It did not correct below the 2013 all time high so it still has big gains. We will have a bull run and who cares if it happens next month or in 2 years. It's supposed to be a store of value not a get rich quick scheme.
4322  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-2-10]Historical Perspective: Why Blockchain is more Advantageous than the on: February 10, 2019, 10:46:14 PM
How does one invest in the blockchain? I'm really tired of this blockchain this blockchain that talk and I doubt there will be blockchain without bitcoin. Blockchain is only the platform on which Bitcoin functions and  Bitcoin is the real product that we should focus on. Also, putting the word bubble with blockchain or bitcoin in the same sentence is annoying enough.
4323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is that GREEN? BTC BULL RUN V2019? on: February 10, 2019, 10:23:10 PM
It is impossible to make conclusions at present because the market is still unstable after a long time. The market will come back when Bitcoin reaches the price of $ 4000 which is my own opinion based on discussions from other people on this forum.
4000 is not much. We'd need to go back to 6000 which was the previous stable low. Between 3000 and 6000 there's not much the price could hold onto. We could see it in that fast slide down when we broke below 6000 that there was no support on the way down.
This small pump doesn't look like anything healthy. More like a bot buying to sell in a few days.
4324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Real Solution to Dumping on: February 10, 2019, 10:13:12 PM
That would be even better for both parties if people were paid in BTC or ETH for promoting altcoins. Bounty hunters wouldn't be afraid of getting scammed with worthless shitcoin and devs would expect less tokens to be dumped early. They won't do it though because they prefer people to work for credit and be paid with their tokens. Tokens that devs have in abundance.
4325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin matured as a currency? on: February 10, 2019, 10:05:13 PM
I think there are still a lot of people who are not here because of technology, but because they are waiting for the right moment to speculate. Therefore, I believe that it is too early to talk about bitcoin as a currency and its stability.

And what do you think are people for in fiat money? Some of them treat it as currencies and some are trading on forex. Does it mean it's too early to talk about fiat money in terms of currencies? Don't be silly!
Bitcoin is mature enough to be a currency but it will take a lot of time before people start treating it like one.
4326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First seastead is now in international waters. Only currencies accepted..฿ & BTC on: February 10, 2019, 07:46:30 PM
This thing looks like a floating bunker. During World War II there were similar floating anti air platforms with guns on them and there were also floating radio masts and other contraptions. Any pictures from the inside? Does this thing vibrate much at high winds? I'd expect it to work like a drum at least as long as it's empty.
4327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't fell for FUD. Stand your ground bitcoiners! on: February 10, 2019, 07:37:51 PM
Scarcity is not the only factor that gives value to metals. Cobalt is very scarce and widely used. It's estimated that there's not enough of it to satisfy the industry and it has almost no value if put against gold.

I don't care about Bitcoin FUD. There are many smart people who see the value in it and when I listen to the haters I don't see anything worth repeating in their rambling.
Bitcoin is working as a store of value for me and it's doing even more: gaining value. I wasn't expecting that when I bought my coins.
4328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Questions to BTC Holders 2011 And Before on: February 10, 2019, 07:19:38 PM
I know a guy who mined BTC at work. He was working night shifts in 2011 and brought a pc from home that mined for free while he was working. In 2011 with a decent setup you were able to mine several bitcoins every month. Not many people were buying their coins but since you could mine on your normal gaming PC there was no reason not to.
4329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF Available Eventually on: February 09, 2019, 09:34:19 PM
It's inevitable. People will be getting more compliant exchanges and custody solutions with full kyc that will report their every move to the authorities and at that point there won't be much the SEC or anybody else will be able to do. They will have to approve it. I don't think the ETF will change much. It will get more people into Bitcoin but it won't be such a huge number to suddenly make Bitcoin double in price.
4330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple vs Bitcoin on: February 09, 2019, 09:29:55 PM
I think Bitcoin is much more promising than Ripple. Ripple is very dependent on banks, and Bitcoin is their opposite. If the banks give up Ripple, he will die. I'm not sure that the banks are betting on Ripple.

They aren't really doing much with it. The protocol has been around for years and this year we're getting first real news that XRP might finally be used for something. Compare it to Bitcoin. People have been transaction in it 9 years ago, but who is using XRP? Ever heard of people who were doing anything with it besides trading?
This centralized bank coin will still be the same thing 5 years from now, when even less people will trust banks.
4331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin in 2019 on: February 09, 2019, 09:14:40 PM
Buy the rumor sell the news. You can see that people are expecting LTC to go up and buying it just so that they can sell it later, when the upgrade is finally in. It's sad because not many people really stand by their coins. The majority jumps from one to the other if they're forking or getting some upgrades. The good part is that it's moving the market towards the green but that's all it does.
4332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the 1st thing you'll do if you win Megah Moolah's jackpot? on: February 09, 2019, 08:05:04 PM
I wouldn't know what to do with such money. A lot of it would definitely be stolen by taxes so I'd be happy if I ended up with 10 million in hand after all the fees and taxes.
I'd make sure to invest a large part of it in real estate and maybe buy myself a boat to sail around the world. I'm sure I wouldn't gamble it all away. That would be a waste.
4333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A cryptocurrency entirely dedicated to GAMBLING? on: February 09, 2019, 07:40:34 PM
I don't see a reason to be making cryptos that serve only one purpose. It's better to integrate existing ones into casinos.
An existing crypto with a lot of holders and developers is already free of bugs and is popular/ It has a brand. A new crypto will have to fight an uphill battle on the market where there's hundreds of cryptos already. We should decrease the number of shitcoins not increase it.
4334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has this year be favourable to you? on: February 09, 2019, 07:36:29 PM
I don't think many people were successful in 2018. Even if you won anything by gambling if you haven't bought anything with your money it became less and less valuable.
The last year was really bad for me but I'm still positive that this one will be better. Nothing is lost as long as you're alive and have some money to invest.
4335  Economy / Economics / Re: Can a new crypto exchange take a place in the market? on: February 08, 2019, 10:51:13 PM
It can especially if you want to start on a local market. It's easy to buy Bitcoin with USD or EUR but not so much if you're in Africa or the Middle East and have only local currency at your disposal. If  there are no big exchanges operating in your country and the laws aren't working against you it should be easy to start a new exchange. If you want a global exchange you better have a lot of money for advertising.
4336  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-2-6]People are Losing Interest in Cryptocurrency and Blockchain Technology on: February 08, 2019, 10:43:12 PM
Quote
As the crypto market lives through a bloody bearish movement, which has been continuing for approximately 12 months

More like 14 months now. They can't even count properly.

The interest isn't decreasing at all and a loss of 80% is called a market cycle. Bitcoin is losing 80 or more every cycle and there were at least 3 that I can think of. None of them stopped people from being interested. Losing money doesn't equal losing interest. When your business runs out of money you don't stop and give up but start another business.
4337  Economy / Speculation / Re: new bullish run on: February 08, 2019, 10:34:32 PM
It's not going to go anywhere because there were no big news and we are not recovering from any sharp fall. For this to be a bull run we would have to go above 5000 dollars. For now it's the same thing we saw on Dec 29. A small pump that failed to achieve anything besides giving people false hopes.
4338  Economy / Speculation / Re: 🔴 🔴 It's happening! It's happening! It's happening! ⭕ ⭕ on: February 08, 2019, 10:29:27 PM
It looks like one of those bart simpson patterns in the making. A bot buys BTC, price goes sideways for a week, bot sells all.
All this while the owner of this bot is shorting with x5 leverage Cheesy I give it 5 days before we land hard back on 3400.
4339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why are most bounties managed by New accounts? on: February 07, 2019, 06:47:36 PM
Because new accounts are cheap to make and can be discarded if anything goes wrong. New accounts don't have to be scammers but usually if someone appears on the forum and tries to offer you a deal he's planning to take advantage of you.

Start asking them to escrow deals and you'll be safe.
4340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if designer handbags were 80% off? Your gf would... on: February 07, 2019, 06:40:27 PM
Most of those bags are made in China and there's so many fakes out there it's getting very difficult to spot a real one. I'm not buying everything out there because it has a -80% tag on it.
I'm also not buying Bitcoin now because I have enough of it and not much fiat in my wallet. I'm ready to wait another year for a bull market but what if I buy with all my fiat money and have to beg for food while waiting for high prices?
