4322  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bullrun Done? on: May 23, 2021, 06:09:58 PM
Nope, the market isn't done yet with the bull run. What we see now is a correction occasioned by the FUD from Elon Musk and China. Even without the FUD, the correction would still have come. Well, may be not as heavy as it's with the FUD anyway. Nevertheless, I for one, believe that 2021 is a thorough bull year. The market will bounce back soonest despite the knocks it's getting at the moment. If this correction had happened in November or December of this year, may be I would've drawn conclusion that the bull run had come to an end. But this is far from it as we are still in May. Panic sellers will regret their actions. The diamond hands will be the happier for this dip as it affords them the opportunity to accumulate more.
4323  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traders Don't easily lend out money. on: May 23, 2021, 03:26:15 PM
It boils down to the fact that those asking a trader friend for cash may have refused to learn how to trade from the friend who is a trader. So, it raises the question of "If you don't want to learn how to fish yourself, why ask me for fish?" Another thing can be that no one easily gives out what they fought hard to earn or get. Trading isn't easy but outsiders don't know this. They think traders easily pluck off winnings on trades like they do mangoes. Besides all that, every businessman tends to calculate every loose cash as a capital they should reinvest and may not see a need to lend it out. The advice will be — If you have a trader as a friend, beg him to teach you the trading tricks and not give you loan.
4324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's never too late to start on: May 23, 2021, 01:52:41 PM
Long story short I want to start from scratch I want to ask the seniors who are here.
I want to start trading again. Could you please give me some advice so that I don't go through things like a few years ago.
You're welcome back, OP. Glad you didn't eventually get totally scared off this industry. Though it's fraught with ups and downs, there are still much positive outcome from it as many are daily making headway in cryptocurrency. However, I would like to let you know that trading is a more technical stuff than hodling. If you're insistent on trading, then I advise that you get to learn the required skill sets for it. Otherwise, you will likely end up losing whatever capital you put in. Follow the YouTube links put up here by posters above me and peruse them with seriousness. I believe you will be able to grasp something therein.
4325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This isn't the first time the dip has happened on: May 23, 2021, 06:36:34 AM
Truth remains that this isn't even going to be the last time the market will dip after an enviable rally. Also, it isn't going to be the last where those who regretted not buying before the last rally will still not buy at a time of a dip. Humans are like that. They will wish they were already in before the take off and then become skeptical buying in during a crash, believing it's a falling knife situation. Of course, those who trade will tell you of the need for Bitcoin to have built up support momentarily as it journeys up. No support with a major push up is a recipe for a huge crash. This is what is being experienced fuelled by Elon's tweets and the FUD from China. TA (Technical Analysis) needs FA (Fundamental Analysis/News) to achieve its reach.

Bitcoin will be fine after this. It's just a passing phase.
4326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Tweeting Power gone on: May 23, 2021, 05:21:36 AM
look at the current price: $38,000 and is struggling to stay above $38,000, so why didn't the price fall below $30,000? because more people are buying each time the price drops a lot. this means that elon musk no longer has that great power to cause the price to fall below what it is, because people will be buying whenever the price drops a lot
You can say that because you aren't affected in that onslaught on Bitcoin which Elon's tweet caused. Ask those who got liquidated in that action (or you think people didn't get wrecked in that?) and they will beg to disagree with you. We can only be certain his tweets won't have any effect when he tweets again and we guage the reaction of the market to it. Sadly, from my observation, if Elon tweets today again a lot of people will react to it. It's such a powerful thing to hold financial power and that's what Elon holds. We can't deny or jettison that fact.
4327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Binance too big to fail? on: May 22, 2021, 07:47:41 PM
What are your thoughts? Is Binance too big to fail? If not, why? Do you think Binance has too much power/influence over the crypto/Blockchain industry? How will it affect crypto (either positively or negatively) in the long term? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
Nothing stays up forever. There are times and seasons for everything. It will take just two major hacks or an incident of the arrest of CZ Binance by SEC or his death or rumour of corruption among the top echelon of Binance staff to possibly rattle Binance. What I'm trying to say is that no exchange is infallible, Binance inclusive. Before 2017, there were strong and robust exchanges like Bittrex, Poloniex, Yobit and Coinexchange. Today, those exchanges aren't reckoned with. In fact, Coinexchange has shut down. So, Binance isn't that too big not to crumble. Though I don't wish bad for it to happen. If it happens, the world world come to an end because of that. Another alternative will spring up.

4329  Other / Meta / Re: Don't you think some people in the forum are giving too much importance to Elon? on: May 22, 2021, 11:41:07 AM
To be frank, it's not even what we do here that pushes Elon Musk's influence or feeds his perceived trolling behaviour. It goes beyond this forum. There are much more many people who aren't on this forum (who may not even have heard about this forum) that trust and take everything Elon says hook, line and sinker. Of course, everyone likes to listen to someone of influence. Elon is a man of influence, whether we admit it or not. To be the wealthiest man on the globe is not an easy achievement in a world where riches is more valuable than good name. In the current day happenings, not many will want to listen to a Bill Gates over an Elon Musk. Power has changed hands and quite understandably, people will want to queue behind he who has the magic wand. So, I don't think it's out of place talking about Elon. It's his time. Let him enjoy the moment.
4330  Other / Politics & Society / Re: THE INEVITABLE GUEST (DEATH) on: May 22, 2021, 10:45:35 AM
Life and death they say it’s in our hands and I disagree there’s no point in that phrase...
The right expression is found in Proverbs 18:21 — Life and death lies in the tongue. There are variations of course, depending on what Bible version one is reading from. Often times certain issues that would've been amicably settled have resulted in altercations that have led to murder or other deadly repercussions. Just imagine coming back at night and being stopped by a team of military men on patrol and they ask "where are you coming from?" and one's response is, "why are you asking (tongue). Can't you see am returning from work?" Your guess is as good as mine of the action that will follow it. But a simple polite response of "Sirs, I'm just returning late from work." will turn away the team and let one go in peace. Again, sin (death) cripped into this world through Eve's interaction (tongue) with the serpent at the garden of Eden.

However, on the inevitability of death — it shows that man is a mere mortal. From dust was man formed according to the biblical account of Genesis 2:7 and to dust will man return. What should matter to man while on earth is the legacy he leaves behind at his demise. Sadly, most people don't give a hoot about legacy. They want riches at all cost while neglecting humanity.
4331  Other / Meta / Re: Inserting image? on: May 22, 2021, 09:31:28 AM
Trying to figure out how to insert an image into this forum?
I've done this before on other forums, but can't find the proper way to do it here.
The easiest way to do it is to view how other posters succeeded posting theirs by trying to quote them. That way you get to see the HTML text.

.

Simply replace that which I struck out with the link from your Imgur picture you want to share and it will appear here. But of course, you can only get to see my text if you tried to quote me. Mind you, I distorted that link and that means the picture I tried to upload won't show. That was the simple way I learnt to do it when I started out
4332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Happens After Widespread Crackdowns and Bans? on: May 21, 2021, 09:09:11 PM
I guess the price would fall precipitously, probably under 5000 USD or more likely 1000.
It's really hilarious to ever think that will be possible. It didn't drop to $1000 during the last severe dump in 2018/19 when it was patronised mainly by individuals let alone now that institutions are fans of it. No matter whatever ban Bitcoin witnesses, it won't drop to that level.

Are people still going to want to hold it when the government can always come after them?
Bitcoin is a community coin. The people own it, not a few selected sect in government. Also, we have to factor in the sentiment now with the people that Bitcoin/cryptocurrency is their way of getting out of poverty. So, they tend to see anything against Bitcoin as something against their own progress. The government in this case, is tagged public enemy. People aren't even going to bleak not to continue to hodl Bitcoin.
4333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day 2021 on: May 21, 2021, 04:41:56 PM
Firstly to correct you it was not 10k or $10k but he was offering 10,000 bitcoins for two large pizzas.
Of course, yes. 10k stands for 10,000. That was the sense I used it in shortened form. Sorry, if it caused any confusion. Again, about Laszlo, I don't expect him to make an open declaration of his regrets before I know he feels it. He's a man who owned up his action and didn't sob over spilt milk. I like his courage for the fact that he chose history over wealth and posterity will ever be kind to him.
4334  Economy / Economics / Re: Africa needs to fix continent, richest people are politicians on: May 21, 2021, 12:16:06 PM
Forget Dangote and the rest of the billionaires, the richest people in Africa are politicians. Africans need to reevaluate and rethink their system, so much power is given to the politicians and without any checks or balances. How can an ex-governor not be tried in court for his mischievous activities because there is a written document that said so who signed the documents is it the populace? They loot millions of dollars and stack them up for their families whereas the masses are suffering.
This categorically speaks to Nigeria. It's not because Dangote is mentioned there but because the scenario described aptly captures the whole thing. The looting political class are the real money bags in Nigeria. These people don't have business acumen and can't do any logical investment apart from indulging their flamboyant lifestyles. They suddenly become rich overnight once they get into political offices and this easily explains why Nigeria and the rest of Africa are where they're - in poverty and underdevelopment. A governor in one of the eastern states in Nigeria, during a public gathering laughed to himself when the speaker of that occasion mentioned Aliko Dangote as the richest man in Africa. It was a sinister act. The undertone of his laughter meant that the speaker was wrong by that fact and that him, the governor, was richer than Dangote even though he had no seen businesses he ran. The need to fight corruption was one major key points why people voted for the Buhari led administration which has now turned worse than its predecessors. This is highly regretable to say the least.
4335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day 2021 on: May 21, 2021, 10:03:38 AM
I bet that any time there is a mention of the 10k for two pizza stuff, that dude who actually did that transaction will feel sad and remorseful, expectedly. I don't even want to do the calculation with the current BTC value to know what he should be worth. No matter how anyone wants to argue it that such an incident with the Bitcoin pizza dude patriotically kicked off the first transaction on the Blockchain, I believe there will always be an element of regret for that seller.

On the other hand, I like the idea of people trying to recreate places and businesses that accept Bitcoin and spread the message around. We need this awareness at a time such as this day when fudders are trying to push Bitcoin down and crash its price.
4336  Economy / Services / Re: Help me to approve a project | Reward: $50 pool for each project on: May 21, 2021, 08:35:15 AM

4337  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Failed in trade it's not joke. on: May 20, 2021, 05:56:58 PM
One of my friend traders tell me more about trading and he just said to me that I must read more the sequences of trading and observe the graphic.
Trading is far beyond reading and observing charts. It's more of practical than theory because being in a trade tests one's patience. This is where the real emotions of anger (while losing) or joy (while winning) comes to play. Quite alright, one needs to acquire the set skills for trading through reading but putting it to practice should be a priority here.

Again, OP should know that any trader who has the mindset of not wanting to lose will eventually end up a loser. It's a psychology thing. Place your trade and define your lose with a stoploss. Let the trade roll. So, always kill that spirit of fear while trading or quit trading.
4338  Economy / Speculation / Re: Too late? on: May 20, 2021, 04:29:02 PM
Question for the experts here....
No one is an expert here. We are all speculators at best.

Is it too late to jump on the bitcoin-trend? Im considering investing in miners and potentially buying 1 or 2 bitcoins.
No! It isn't too late to hop in. The market even afforded everyone an easy opportunity yesterday and the day before it. However, I know most people are always skeptical buying the dip because they think it's catching a falling knife. We should know that Bitcoin is a phoenix. It has several lives and won't die no matter how badly it crashes. So, buy in; even now.

Especially considering it has plummeted after regulators in China announced a clampdown on crypto.
Let the news from China not bother you or anyone. Bitcoin will definitely come out stronger after it and hit a new ATH. We had similar news about the Chinese ban of Bitcoin in 2017 and we all know how Bitcoin turned up after that. Just shake it off.
4339  Economy / Services / Re: Royse777🧢 Campaign Management and Translation 💹Agency📈💪🔥 on: May 20, 2021, 03:26:52 PM
Royse777, I acknowledge your effort at trying to sanitize and clean up the bounty process so as to prevent cheats from having their way. However, it will be awesome to also extend such action of policing to cover cheating bounty projects and their teams. Most hunters labour for weeks advertising new projects only for such projects to deny them their due rewards once the bounty ends. I think something drastic should be done about this too. A labourer deserves his wages.
4340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This is heartbreaking on: May 20, 2021, 10:19:25 AM
But the question I want to ask here is, I understand it takes a couple of processes to get listed on a platform like coinmarketcap.com so how do these shit coins get listed easily like that?
You're right with your observation. I have often wondered how that came to be too, knowing that in the past part of the Coinmarketcap (CMC) requirement was that the proposed token/coin would first get listed on two exchanges and with a certain trading volume of not less than $50,000 or so (I ain't sure any more now) before the CMC would consider a project. Then the CMC dominated this industry like a lord until Coingecko came on board. That isn't so any more. Projects now get easily listed on CMC as fast as the speed of light because CMC has to soft pedal to woo projects for patronage. Otherwise, it would lose that project to Coingecko's listing. I believe this is what makes every new project (shit projects inclusive) get easily listed on CMC now.
