4341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Quiet Bounty Time on: February 14, 2020, 06:04:37 AM
Less ICO/IEO == Less bounty, it's not a rocket science dude...
The previous (2017) bull run scammed many of newbies and made available capital for investment significantly less. I don't think it (free capital) would recover in 2020. Therefore, the bounty would still quiet as well.

I'll be surprised if a bull run (like in 2017) would occur in 2020.
4342  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Random coin picks experiment on: February 14, 2020, 05:33:26 AM
I've seen many of this experiment in the stock market, and it often outperforms managed funds (lol). However, in the crypto market you should define the pool more carefully since 100m+ market cap might not be sufficient. I mean random picks in stock market arguably safer because all stocks listed on the same exchange and have passed proper due diligence.

Perhaps you should add a few more criteria:
- listed on x primary global market;
- not a stablecoin (obviously); and
- x daily trading volume.
4343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins so fragile compared to Bitcoin? on: February 14, 2020, 03:47:54 AM
IMO it's because of the network effect. Bitcoin has the largest user base in the entire crypto market; in other words, the Bitcoin community is very strong. Let's see with altcoins (except stable coins), the altcoins holders always have Bitcoin, but not vice versa. With the small user base, the market becomes highly inefficient, therefore more prone to pump and dump or market manipulation in general.
4344  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🐺WOLF.BET - Provably fair dice game 🎲 $1,000 Daily Race💰7-day streak bonus🔥 on: February 14, 2020, 12:49:26 AM
^^Yea, no methods can satisfy users about this leaderboard thingy. Even if usernames are transparent, there is no way to check the legitimacy of the mentioned accounts.
Wolfbet already here for a year without any serious complaints so that it can be assumed fair. I've seen casinos doing shady things and got caught pretty quick here.
4345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Is The Avalanche Consensus and How Does It Work on: February 13, 2020, 01:41:40 PM
Your title and your OP seem misleading dude! Where is the explanation about how it works?

CMIIW, Avalanche can be sybiled with enough nodes (more than 50%), and the attacker can "permanently" gain control in the network. Therefore, it's not useful for open/permissionless blockchain.
4346  Economy / Economics / Re: Blockchain Game Economics on: February 13, 2020, 04:26:12 AM
I think it would be more straightforward if you just use a fixed rate. For example:

- 1 USD (worth of crypto) -> 1,000 Tetra
- 1,100 Tetra -> 1 USD (worth of crypto)
100 Tetra is your profit as the market maker.

This way, people won't speculate on the in-game currency and focus on the game itself. You can reward players, create contests, etc., using the mentioned profit as well. You can also sell items (weapons, perks, etc.) to earn money.
4347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is bigger than the rest of the crypto market combined on: February 11, 2020, 12:51:25 PM
That's true. Currently, BTC is the king.

By the way, what "full-time" crypto even means? Full-time trading, full-time shilling, or full-time developers? A lot of altcoin developers care about their system.

Crypto is a new "industry" that may be more unpredictable than you think. Let's wait and see what will happen with all the entertainment (dramas) provided in this space.
4348  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold vs. U.S. dollar on: February 11, 2020, 12:02:51 PM
As Stompix said, OP, you can't compare those two without some metric, like one dollar compared to one gram (sorry I'm using SI) of gold. Let's say you talk about a general sense that one dollar will be more valuable than one gram of gold.

Is it possible? Yes, in theory, or just a mere thought experiment. Let's say we find a humongous deposit of gold that makes gold no longer scarce. The gold value will crash. Remember the "law" of supply and demand?

Is it probable in the real world? Hell no.
4349  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Blender.io - Advanced privacy for Bitcoin transactions (mixer) on: February 11, 2020, 11:49:20 AM
Yea, I'm disappointed as well. Since it is not a lot of money, I have a suspicion that something bad happens to the administrator. I hope it's not serious though, like coronavirus infection or whatever else.

I'll give them one more week since I'm a cool guy Smiley
4350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is easier, stop when you are winning or stop when you are losing? on: February 11, 2020, 11:38:44 AM
Here you are wrong actually because you actually stop when you win big and and you loose then you don't mind loosing all of it, right?

I mean just re-think about what you are saying once, you loose all $25 and then you would stop or you would stop after you have lost say around $12 from 25 .. you will obviously say you stop at loosing it all so it's actually the fact that you can't stop when you are losing.
Yeah, but I never withdrew more money with the hope of winning in the next round to recoup whatever losses I made.

Haha, I know that feeling I too make such purchases which I don't mean to actually buy when I have some extra funds from either gambling or anything else and I don't mind this habit 1 bit because I have so many more items now which i won't have if I acted miserly.
That's hilarious! Smiley ... and also pretty much correct, at the same time.

When I say that I enjoy gambling regardless of whether I'm winning or losing, people often ask, "How can you enjoy losing?". Well, because I often buy stupid stuff with the won money, the stuff I regret buying, and that feeling of regret is not what I want to experience in the nearest future. How about that? )
LOL, I still remember I have spent a lot to buy winemaking kits, with all the high-quality yeast to make the best wine ever. Only used twice.
Or when I bought quite expensive latex -allergen-free- pillow. The most expensive night ever! Only used once, and I never use it again since it hurts my neck.

Anyway, which one is easier, stop loss or take profits, depends on your playing style. However, in behavioral finance, traders tend not to cut short their losses, but hold their assets down with the market (or it is easier to stop when they win). Hence, I place a hard limit every time I play because it's a lot harder to stop when you lose. I hope that "science" makes sense.
4351  Economy / Speculation / Re: One satoshi for $1 dollar will occur someday on: February 11, 2020, 03:57:47 AM
OP, this topic is about speculation, not economics. People could speculate whatever price level they want; however, it is important to write about how you come up with the conclusion. Why? What's the reason? What has to happen?

I think 1 Satoshi equal to 1 USD can only happen if the USD becomes worthless.

I've reported this thread. Let's see what happens.
4352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Leave gambling, if it destroys you. on: February 10, 2020, 06:30:23 PM
Why a lot of threads here were like this, bad-mouthing gambling? Come on man, we are all adults here, intelligent, and have good self-control. As long as it legal and licensed, people could choose freely whether they want to gamble or not.

Is gambling morally wrong? Go here https://www.debate.org/opinions/is-gambling-morally-wrong

Not all people will become gambling addicts.
4353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2020 on: February 10, 2020, 06:19:38 PM
For those who are not familiar with this contest, you could read this:
https://eurovision.tv/about/how-it-works

2019 winner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiIjuLRyinM

My current basket, "Fai rumore & Shaj." >> I wish for the English version so bad tho. I'll visit this thread occasionally and update my basket Grin

I think this kind of contest would be a bit biased since people like English-language songs more.
4354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Teofimo Lopez Lightweight Unification fight on: February 10, 2020, 05:30:52 PM
The fight hasn't been scheduled right? The news says it will take place in May or June.

In my opinion, since this is a 135-pound fight, Lomachenko could still handle the match comfortably. He has beaten four lightweight division boxers and only down one time versus Linares (CMIIW).

I'm a fan of Loma before he was cool since his technique is so far superior compared to other boxers I've ever seen. As long as he is not getting too cocky about his superiority, I'm pretty sure he will win all titles up to 135 pounds or maybe a bit heavier.
4355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is easier, stop when you are winning or stop when you are losing? on: February 10, 2020, 04:55:31 PM
As a casual gambler, it is easier for me to stop when I lose since my strategy is simple, "go big or go home." I mean, I always play with a planned budget, let's say $25 at the weekend. This $25 is money that often goes to zero when I play lol.

When I won, I used the money to buy stupid stuff, then regret why I bought that stuff. Well, that's how I enjoy my simple life.
4356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 10, 2020, 03:46:57 AM
I was not going to watch this match as for me this is one sided story in favour of Inter but as I came back and check score card its very strange for me Milan is leading by 0 - 2 and second goal is scored by Ibrahimovic look like we are going to have another big upset this week as already have many on card.
As I said mate, the GOAT alone cannot carry the whole team. However, I'm quite surprised about the score, 4-2, much tighter than predicted.

As for how this season progressed, I think Inter has a higher probability of winning the league, especially after they add Moses, Ashley Young, and Christian Eriksen. These are very good players. Not only they strengthen the current squad, but also there will be less fatigue and injury problems overall.

4358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Site's Investing (Is it worth it?) on: February 09, 2020, 07:13:29 PM
Back when just-dice had a BTC option, and fees weren't as expensive, I was invested in the bankroll for a while.
To be honest, it's far from a standard investment. There's no guarantee it'll remain profitable in the long run. A luck strike by a whale could sweep months of earnings in a single day and vice versa also though. Usually the "tax" from site owners is on withdrawing funds from the balance.
This is part of the risk even we do invest and believe too much on "house always win" , not all the time and as said which a certain whale on a particular day will easily sweep out big wins if lucky enough.
Of course it would really have negative effect into its investors and the fact these kind of situations are mostly hated by Casinos or gambling sites.Imagine on waiting up for an entire month for making profits
but ending up none because the house is negative? It would be much worth if we do find for other investment alternatives.I wont even recommend this one.
The house will always win in the long run because of HE, and this is proven mathematically. However, it doesn't mean that investors won't carry business risks just like what @TheUltraElite said, mainly about mismanagement and embezzlement.

If you really (repeat it 99x) trust the casino, then perhaps this kind of investment is for you.
4359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 09, 2020, 06:40:46 PM
Milan derby would be exciting to watch, especially with The GOAT, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, now in Milan. However, in my opinion, Inter is still too strong for AC Milan. I also don't think even Zlatan could carry the team alone because he is not prime anymore. Inter should win 2-0 comfortably in this match.

Anyway, you'll get 2x odds if you bet on sportsbet/stake, pretty tempting?
4360  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲EarnBet.io - The First Player-Owned Casino 🎲Provably Fair 🎲BTC ₿ on: February 09, 2020, 05:15:21 PM
Actually, I think marketing should pivot a little. The games offered are pretty good, but the devs need to lower its HE since the token no longer attracts "investors" to bet. In my opinion, no one wants to collect a WAX token (or a token that needs three years to ROI).

It would be best to treat the BET as the side selling point, not the main one.

I'm pretty surprised that game-protect is still here tho, It shows perseverance Grin
