There is a way to cut losing streaks in gambling games??  Shocked Huh I wasn't aware of that. Could you tell me how skilled gamblers are doing that please?
Psychology is very important in gambling but I wasn't only talking about that, I was talking about the overall edge those players have against beginners.

I answer you with respect to what I know about poker. If you are a regular poker player it makes no sense to cut losing streaks simply because you are losing. Winning players have short term losing streaks, but if you keep playing without losing affecting you emotionally, you will get on a winning streak again sooner. It is better to schedule one or two hour playing sessions, for example, and play that long regardless of whether you win or lose.

It's key that it doesn't affect you emotionally. Experienced players are not usually affected but you can always have a bad day. At that moment it is better to leave the table and come back another day when you are fresher.
Yes I agree with you, leaving the game/the table will be beneficial on a psychological level, which is important in skilled games like poker but it doesn't cut a losing streak in a probabilistic/statistical way. That is to say, if you are playing at a pure gambling game like roulette or a dice game, it won't really change the outcomes at the end. It can help newbies to not quickly dry up their bankroll by trying to chase their losses though.
4342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 21, 2021, 11:31:37 PM

I think the ban was warranted given how some streamers were using illegal and fake balance to trick viewers. There is no way these streamers are always coming up with a $100k balance and losing it for fun while shouting after they win. Banning affiliate links isn't going to solve the problem totally though because they can still stream with these illegal balances and nothing is done about them.

I prefer reading reviews here in Bitcointalk than watching streams on the streaming platforms and Youtube, here in Bitcointalk you can question, support, and ask for more relevant materials about certain gambling sites, because I know that reviews here are genuine and fair these streamers are shilling the gambling sites to high heavens because they are going to make money or been paid for promoting.
You're right but a review will never show you how the game is in reality and how to play it. When you watch the streams on Twitch or Youtube you get a live demonstration of the game, moreover streamers like Eddie from Stake are giving several bonus/give away codes during their streams.

When will Messi join the squad? Donnarumma and Navas, one is going to be a big loser this season or they share the games like one plays in the Champions league and the other guy the Ligue 1. Both will be unsatisfied with such a solution though.

Could also be that it will still take some time before Messi joins as he got some extra time off I believe. It's time to see him join, not so much fun to watch without him playing.
I am not aware of any specific information regarding when Messi will join the squad in the field but I suppose he might play a part of the next game vs Reims then I am pretty sure he will play vs Clermont and Lyon! He has to get used a bit with the squad and the gameplay of PSG. They have just to announce that Messi is playing and electricity will shut during that game in France Tongue
Messi will certainly play during the match against Reims next week but it's very unlikely that he will play against Clermont in 3 weeks because his national team Argentina has several matches scheduled at the beginning of September and it's the same for Neymar and Brazil, they will meet each other BTW.
4344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Wagerr - No limit, non-custodial betting on: August 21, 2021, 10:52:15 PM
I think the biggest thing people need to understand that it's not a 3rd party paying bookie just taking bets in wagerr.  No other coins can be offered because you are directly betting against the wagerr blockchain.  If you lose coins get burned, if you win coins get minted.  Overall due to gaming theory the house (blockchain) will win over time.  So the blockchain will continue to burn circulating (and therefore max) supply.
"Due to gaming theory the house will win over time" : what do you mean by that precisely please? Why would the house win over time if there is no House Edge (vigorish)? Moreover I have a question, who is fixing the odds of the bets? Can anyone offer lay bets like on betting exchanges?

There is a house Edge, it is just very small. Comparable to the likes of pinnacle.

The blockchain is who is 'taking the other side of the bet'. The odds are set by taking an average of feeds and then using an algorithm to help balance the book. As more volume comes to Wagerr the plan is to not use any feeds at all.

Users cannot lay bets currently.
I don't fully understand what you mean, is it a human or a bot who is setting the odds currently? How odds will be set when feeds will not be used anymore? It would be more interesting and more decentralized if the sportsbook was also offering some mutual bets IMO.
For the margin you're right it seems to be pretty low (about 3% from what I see)
4345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 21, 2021, 09:55:35 PM
Messi has been with Barcelona for a long time, he will have trouble adapting to the new team. There are many differences between the strategy of Barcelona and the strategy of PSG. However, since Messi has played with Neymar before, I believe it will not take long for Messi to adapt to PSG. Moreover, all the players of PSG are experienced enough. It shouldn't be too much of a problem to adapt to such an experienced squad.
It will not be hard for a good player to get adaped, if Messi adapt, it is not because he has played with Neymar before in Barcelona, it is normal for players to adapt, players like Messi should give up to standard, but what I am thinking about is that he has never played before in any league or any club, he has been in Barcelona still his childhood, but I know he should be professional and good enough to play better in PSG or any other strong club, all I can say is for us to expect the best of Messi this season, we should expect the best of PSG.
Brest is a small team and this match is not really important for PSG so I think that Mauricio Pochettino doesn't need to use his super star players for this match. Moreover Lionel Messi would certainly want to make his debut with a good performance therefore he needs to be as trained as possible.

The match is definitely important. But Brest is the easy opponent. So even if PSG forms a slightly weaker squad, they will win. Because even though the squad is a bit weak, but this squad is capable of defeating any strong team. It is certain that Mbappe will be on the team. He alone can knock down Brest's defense.
Why do you say this match was important for PSG? I don't understand. As I said above Brest is small team and PSG doesn't care about them. They easily won the first half 2-1 with one goal from Ander Herrera and another from Kylian Mbappe and another time 2-1 the second half with one goal from Idrissa Gueye and one from Angel di Maria. It had been a very easy victory.
4346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The houses always win, are you the house or the gambler? on: August 20, 2021, 11:19:04 PM
The houses always win, are you the house or the gambler?

Do houses always win? No! Homes almost never lose.
We've had countless cases of lucky players who have won big prizes and them withdraw money from the house to their wallet (if not a scam).
The fact is that when you win a good prize, most of the times peoples continue to bet, giving the house the chance to recover from the loss it had.

The solution is simple, plan with a limit on spending and maximum bets, the house will continue to win, but at least you won't leave grumbling.
No it's wrong house loses very oftentimes, for example at the roulette, the house loses almost half of the time, when the player bet on odd or even, red or black, high or low... So the house loses against many players, but it wins against most of them.
The house will still win from many gamblers and even if they lose because of one or two gamblers, they still got the biggest money from the other. Many gamblers will spend their money playing gambling and many of them losing the money for playing for a long time. And that can be a benefit for the gamblers, especially if the gamblers can not control themselves and use more money to gamble. If the casino has many favorite gambling games that can attract many gamblers to play, many gamblers will lose their money.
I don't understand why you say that can be a benefit for the gamblers if they can not control themselves and if they use more money to gamble. I think the opposite actually, if a gambler can't control himself and spend more and more money in a game, he will empty his bankroll and will get rekt at the end. It's usually better to take care of the management of the bankroll.

Today I heard another piece of news on a similar topic: OnlyFans plans to exclude adult content from its platform due to scandals related to child pornography. To be honest, I do not see any logic in this - the one who broke the law should be held accountable, but why interfere in the relations of adults who comply with the law on the basis of this? This is all very similar to censorship under the pretext of "care".
I agree but all this censorship on social networks and anywhere else on internet is good for us, because it leads to the rise of decentralized and uncensored solutions in more and more areas and the rise of cryptocurrencies accordingly.

FUN Token Price Betting - $0.05 on the Horizon?

FUN Token rallied by over 20% yesterday as excitement, anticipation, and enthusiasm around upcoming developments build higher.

With a dual asset deflationary ecosystem on the horizon via XFUN - the new Layer-2 token on Polygon - and something BIG coming in the next few days, $FUN is set for an exciting end to the month of August.

What will be the price of FUN Token by 31st August?

Predict $FUN price movement; wager on the Betting page at FreeBitco.in and win BTC!

Betting expires on 23rd August.

I think even $0.1 could be on the cards the way fun has been going the last couple of days
You really think FUN can reach $0.1 before the end of the month, in 10 days? In this case I highly recommend you to put a small stake at least on this outcome, because "More than - $0.060000" is currently worth @48.00. But I don't think it's undervalued honestly, because IMHO there is not any chance to reach this price in the coming days. The FUN token cashbacks are not locked then many people will sell their bonus after the end of the promotion IMO.

Le btc risque de piétiner dans la zone 45k-48k.

En particulier, les 47k qui étaient un support en avril sont à présent une résistance.

Sans parler des considérations fibonaciennes. Wink

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-08-20/bitcoin-s-technical-challenges-pile-up-after-63-jump-chart

edit: cela dit, dans un ultime effort, je le verrais bien monter jusqu'à 50k. Ce weekend par exemple...
Fibonacci c'est plus vendeur, pour faire bander les ATistes maintenant il faut parler d'Ichimoku

Quote
Bitcoin’s Technical Challenges Pile Up After 63% Jump
Bitcoin’s rally of about 63% from a July trough now faces a rare confluence of technical obstacles. An April low of about $47,000 is now acting as something of a barrier, as is a Fibonacci and Ichimoku cluster between $47,000 and $48,000, while the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement of the April to June downtrend -- at $51,000 -- could be an obstacle too. Edward Moya, senior market analyst for North America at Oanda Corp., expects Bitcoin to consolidate between $45,000 and $48,000.

Roll Eyes

I remember Wagerr. The project used to be very hyped in 2017 during the ICO frenzy but like many projects it felt into anonymity after that unfortunately...

No Betting Limits
Bettors on the Wagerr platform are capable of betting as much as they wish. There is no need to find a counterparty either, the Wagerr blockchain will accept any size bet you make.
Could you explain us how you are able to do that? How a bettor will be paid, if he has bet a very large amount on an outcome and nobody has bet on the other side?

Sportsbet.io rating and review.

Opened: 2016
License: Curacao 1668/JAZ sub-license.
Currencies: Crypto and Fiat.
Banned countries: USA, UK, Australia, Estonia, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Afghanistan, Korea, Iran, Iraq, Myanmar, Trinidad and Tobago, Yemen.

Sportsbet is a big book with sponsorships of major soccer clubs. There are many betting options both pregame and live. Sportsbet is very popular here at bitcointalk.

The betting margins at Sportsbet are high. You won't find the best line on either side. There have been many complaints against Sportsbet but that comes with the territory of any good sized sportsbook. Most of the time that comes from disgruntled players but there may have been times where Sportsbet was incorrect. Many complaints have been posted where it was a he said, she said situation. A sportsbook needs to have solid proof of any infractions claimed. There are times when Sportsbet has provided no proof which makes it difficult to determine right or wrong. Sportsbet has confiscated both deposits and winnings. At other times they have just confiscated deposits. KYC has been asked for before these confiscations. Playing from a banned country will lead to a confiscation.

There are some other worrisome things concerning Sportsbet. It's a normal practice to require a one time rollover on deposits but Sportsbet has a rule of a 5x rollover if they suspect money laundering. If an account is inactive for 3 months, Sportsbet will send out a letter informing the player. One month after the letter, Sportsbet can charge a fee of 15% per month fee for administrative costs. In one section it states that Sportsbet may confiscate the balance after 180 days of inactivity. In another section it states one year. I don't know if the rules above have been invoked.

For the purposes of ratings, "A" and "B" books are recommended. There normally isn't any problems playing at a "C" book. "D" and "F" books should be avoided at all costs.

Sportsbet opens with a rating of "C".
It's a very interesting review, thank you for writing it but unfortunately you didn't put the links toward your other reviews in the topic. I'm looking for the review on Stake. Where can I find it please?

You seem to forget one thing arallmuus : freebitcoin has a faucet. Then nobody needs to make any deposit to use the platform, you can earn free satoshis by claiming them from the faucet and the Wheel of Fortune spin

I dont forget that and currently I think it is less than 10 satoshi on average for every free claim, you will need around 28k satoshi to purchase the minimum of 500 FUN Token right now so that means it would take 2800 free claims to get the bare minimum and that is 2800 hours Tongue. At some point, some user that is interested with this might need to deposit in order to purchase it so yeah my point stands
As uneng seems to say, most of regular freebitcoin users have certainly already been able to earn more than 28k satoshis from the faucet and the Wheel of Fortune game without making any deposit. It's sad but according to what I see there and to what I read here, I think that most of regular users are strict claimers who don't make any deposits actually. So if you think the goal of this promotion is only to get more deposits you are wrong IMHO.

If you are mastering the probabilities of the game, you are already ahead of most of noobs taking part in the game even if you're in a bad luck day.

You have a point and I agree with that.

It's what can we also call, having a big gambling experience. Even on the worst day, these gamblers with more experience can still think of a way how to cut that losing streak or survive the worst rounds because they have already been in the worst situation several times already throughout their gambling history.

They already felt the pressure, struggle, and difficulties whenever they are in that situation.
There is a way to cut losing streaks in gambling games??  Shocked Huh I wasn't aware of that. Could you tell me how skilled gamblers are doing that please?

4357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do poker and sports betting skills correlate? on: August 19, 2021, 09:18:05 PM
The reason may be that they do dedicate lots of time to follow the sports and the cards tournaments and they are able to find opportunities hidden in the sand. Perhaps rather than a direct correlation, which could also be possible as everything in betting entails a certain ability to assess the chances and probabilities of events happening, is more about being in the "profession" of predicting and making money out of it. I would say that, in general, skills are specific for the prediction and generalist in the calculation abilities.
You have a big point here "dedication" towards both games which will help you develop strategies that might play out most times. But there are no correlations between both because both are two different games entirely. Probability remains the underlying element that can bring both games under the same atmosphere that would make one feel both correlate.
In gambling, probability is not just a small underlying element like you said. It's the key of the success in gambling. If you are mastering the probabilities of the game, you are already ahead of most of noobs taking part in the game even if you're in a bad luck day.

All the websites that I review will be tested with a real deposit. I will show you all the nuances related to bonuses, KYC, and other important stuff.
I will also be performing some gambling experiments while playing slots and placing bets on sports.

4359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch introduces restrictions on gambling-related links - deadline 17 Aug on: August 19, 2021, 07:46:00 PM
Another thing that baffles me is how is twitch gonna differentiate between gambling links and normal links? I mean the streamer can always come and give shortened links to the audience.
That is what I thought. Twitch isn't the first platform to ban referral links and as far as I know this approach isn't efficient. A good example of that is facebook which didn't succeed in doing so, as people just mask their links through third party sites and keep promoting any kinds of services, investments, activities, even the most shady ones without any difficult at all.
There are a lot of content on these platforms that it's nearly to impossible to track everything and remove what they consider inappropriate. In fact I think nothing is going to change in twitch platform. Gambling will keep being advertised anyway.
I'm not sure about that, the amount of available content on twitch has nothing to do with what you can find on Facebook, and Twitch is very efficient to spot and ban any non-compliant content. You will still maybe find some gambling links in chat rooms but I don't think any streamer will still be able to share this kind of link unfortunately.

Tomorrow evening, PSG are going to play an away match against Brest. And it will be Messi's and Neymar's first match this season. I guess that there will be many people who are watching this match. It's about Messi of course. Otherwise Brest are not a tough opponent. Many people are curious about Messi's first performance. I've no doubt that PSG will win this match.
Until now there is no single official source indicating that Messi or Neymar will play that game against Brest. Pochettino already indicated that he is studying whether to include Messi or not in that game. Comparing to the previous match and for the moment, only Di Maria, Verratti, Donnarumma, Marquinhos will be additionall ypresent with the team in Brest.
Yes you're right, it has even been confirmed officially that they won't participate to this match unfortunately Undecided
But according to the french newspaper Le Parisien, they might play sunday 29th august against Reims Smiley
