4341  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What happened to preev.com? on: July 11, 2022, 10:29:57 PM
There are threads similar to this,

I must admit that I also used preev and I think majority of us at one time in their crypto journey.

Specially in the Currency exchange, preev has been the go rate for their trade. Perhaps people need to find alternatives like CMC or https://bitsusd.com/.
4342  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 11, 2022, 10:06:17 PM
So Teo Lopez is back, after the humiliating lost against George Kambosos, he is making his comeback, but this time he has move up in weight. He will be fighting a dangerous and experience boxer in Campa next month.

Quote
“I’m thankful to be back August 13. I’ve been looking forward to this since my last fight,” Lopez said. “I’ve had a lot of complications, but we’re looking towards the future and are on to bigger and better things. I’m here to take over the 140-pound division just like I did at 135. Like always, I’m going to bring excitement to the sport of boxing. The Takeover is still in full effect. You don’t want to miss it.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/teofimo-lopez-pedro-campa-full-undercard-set-august-13-las-vegas--167578

Another good match making on the part of Top Rank, in paper it appears that Campa is a good match against Lopez. True, but I think Lopez will beat him convincingly at 140 lbs and then Teo making some noise in this 140 lbs division. Unified champion Josh Taylor has relinquished some of the belts he have, and there will be elimination and interim fights and maybe Lopez will figure in one of those to have a belt in this division.
4343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 11, 2022, 03:18:54 PM
It looks like Ja Morant went overboard with his statement, hehehe

Ja Morant says he'd beat Michael Jordan in his era

Well I guess who have been following basketball for years and see Michael Jordan plays will not agree with Morant here.

He needs to get a ring, not just 1 or 2 or 3, he need to get 7, be a two way player, MVP's and beat everyone in his generation. So far he has none of that.
4344  Economy / Economics / Re: Thoughts on CBDC's and long-term effect on the cryptomarket on: July 11, 2022, 12:00:43 PM
I don't know if we can take this as a bullish sign, those who says "Yes", don't know what CBCD is. It's just fiat per se, in digital form, but worst. Because the government can track you down when you used it. Of course they are going to force or become a mandatory for their people to be on CBCD, specially if you are going to transaction with government agencies. I don't think it will have an impact to crypto though, I guess we are still going to used coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum more if possible. And if government are going to force CBCD's then so be it, but it doesn't mean the death of crypto, we will have to take advantage of both of them.
4345  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: July 11, 2022, 11:00:55 AM
Chet Holmgren kaya bang maging Giannis Giannis Antetokounmpo?

4346  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for July on: July 11, 2022, 10:34:45 AM
A 2nd retest under 20k is at least 50% likely I think.   If we only test the lows it would be quite calm by comparison to the extremes in prospect, I was expecting worse with this great upset in two main components to dollar.  Its an external shock this time is how I see it as Euro and YEN weakness at the same time and yet the FED raises rates and other events, all adds up

Or more likely a retest to the previous all time low of $17,500 will be met in the following months. I'm not sure but is there a FED rate announcement this month? If there is then definitely, this kind of scenario (testing all time high), is likely going to happen.

We've seen one government already being affected by the war and the oil price and the pandemic that it can't sustain, and they declared bankruptcy and the government falling, and that is Sri Lanka.
4347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Merit For Signature Campaign !!! on: July 11, 2022, 10:00:58 AM
The signature campaign is one of the interesting campaigns in a bounty campaign that not only gives additional knowledge about crypto but also gives more rewards to a campaign. but only certain levels can follow it. How can we go to class??

It should be the other way around, before joining any bounty campaign, it's better if you have knowledge already. Because if you are in a campaign, usually you have to post x numbers in a given week to be able to get paid. So how can you post quality in this community if you don't have any knowledge of crypto topics in the first place. So I would advise you to get knowledge first, just go around the community, get a feel of the discussions, maybe ask a few questions yourself and interact. And then after you are confident and familiarized of the topics then maybe you can try to join campaigns and see if the manager are going to accept you base on your previous posting habits.
4348  Economy / Gambling / Re: Macaw.casino ⚡ Powered by the lightning network ⚡ Instant withdrawals ⚡ No KYC on: July 11, 2022, 09:39:20 AM
⚡ The maintenance work is complete, the website is back up ⚡

Now I cant find the privacy policy and terms page after the maintenance, did you remove them? If you did remove these pages, means that you have no terms and policy at all now? One more question, how about the fairness of your game? I do not see any information related to the fairness of your games, does it mean that your games are not provably fair?

Yeah, I thought that they are going to update them with the new TOS specially about the provably fair of their casinos.

Unfortunately, I can't find them despite the update. Anyhow, we can still gave them time to do that. I mean they are here for constructive criticism so let's hope it will be included in their next maintenance phase.

And it's better if they are going to inform us prior to the maintenance so that there will be no surprises. That's how most of the services are going, not just gambling sites per se.
4349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 11, 2022, 09:15:26 AM
in terms of Crawford, he will have now that chance after moving partway from Arum, if this negotiation
materialized the money that at stake will give him a decent amount of earnings.

I'm pretty sure that this fight between Terence Crawford and Errol Spence will be a blockbuster fight and expect more money to flow here. No need for any hype honestly as these fight takes several years in the making and most boxing fans waited for this. Aside from that, Spence Jr.'s PPV and ticket sales are impressive and always sold out early right away when his fights were just officially announced.

Money is not a problem here. Legacy is the most and being an undisputed welterweight champion is a great achievement.

Errol Spence on Terence Crawford fight: “It’s closer now than it’s ever been”

Yep, I read this article as well, so definitely a lot of things have been going on in the background and it seems that it is really closer more than ever and hopefully this can be made this year.

Otherwise, if negotiation falls apart then definitely this fight might not be made again. Crawford has been very vocal about it, severing his tie with Bob Arum and then maybe accepting the lesser purse. But if that is not enough to make this happen, then I don't know what will be the hindrance.
4350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: People are not only gambling to win but they are buying entertainment on: July 11, 2022, 08:44:15 AM
Many of us here will say that we are gambling for entertainment but this is the same reason why compulsive gamblers put in more money they want to feel high, so if you say I gamble for fun does this mean you admit you are buying entertainment to produce adrenalin and endorphins, so you keep on putting more money to get that feeling regardless if you win or lose.

That is part of it I guess, there is no entertainment if you don't spend money. And casino's are the perfect example of it. You play let's say in a land base casino, the moment you step it, adrenaline is already rushing, you see lots of people playing winning big and then some live bands performing, drinks everywhere. And so you are suckered into that energy, you lost control of everything, endorphins shoot up in your body and you are 'high' and wanted to gamble your money.
4351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 11, 2022, 08:18:25 AM
Just finished watching this documentary for Steph Curry titled "Silenced" by Trice High.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZuWSiWQLN0
If you are a Curry fan this will touch your heart and will feel the enormous weight that was lifted in Steph Curry's shoulder after being bashed and criticized about how he won't be back to the championship and how he cannot bring a team to the top.
The title was spot on. That's the correct word to define it all. Inspiring for NBA players that are aiming for the same goal.
"What are they going to say now?"

Thanks for the link, I will watch it later though.

But if you see Curry's emotional outburst after game 6, you will feel that something has been lifted in his shoulder winning the NBA this season when there have been a lot of chatters and noise behind team. He is not that vocal though, it as Green but they have walk the talk and so they silence all their critics with this huge win. For sure they will have to find another one just to bash or harsh critic them at the start of the new season, specially if they started on a bad note because the supporting cast has all gone now.
4352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 16 on: July 11, 2022, 07:53:41 AM
I try to look at the ticket sales and it seems that there are a lot of tickets available.

Not saying that Garcia doesn't have the crowd draw, but it seems his dancing partner is the problem as Fortuna is not a A-class fighter. The fight is next week already, so hopefully we will see a block buster fighter and tickets are are sold, just saying.
4353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Grand Lotto Winner on: July 11, 2022, 07:27:21 AM
In a country like ours? yeah, might be good to hide their names and faces because they might be a target for criminals here. But I think there are countries who exposes their lottery winners, maybe just to proved that someone really won their lottery and it's not rigged or something. So it's really up to the winners on how they are going to protect themselves and their winnings too. They might be a target for their relatives hehehe, we know how Filipinos are, who have a lot of extended families. Hopefully, the winner will learn where to invest the money they have won so that they can live a better life with their children and their next generation.
4354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 10, 2022, 11:58:25 AM
I guess majority of us here lost our bet on Magsayo. When I saw how the round is going in the first 4, I said to myself that this is a difficult fight for Mark and he will have to knock out Vargas in order to win. He won't win on the judges score card for sure.

There is no cheating, it was a fair score by the judges,  Magsayo was just short of his effort but it is what it is. He has to accept and move forward. If there will be a rematch good, if not then Magsayo needs to double up and work very hard again.
4355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 09, 2022, 11:37:31 PM
Although I'm disappointed with the news that Manny Pacquiao will come out of retirement by participating in an exhibition match, that's his life.

As a fan of Manny, just it's pretty disappointing to see him on the bandwagon on what Floyd has started for retired boxers. But we have to understand where Manny is coming from.

He thinks that's fine or maybe he missed fighting in the ring already. I just don't understand why it should be against a Youtuber and not a real boxer that also on retirement now. With his impact, he can challenge those retired big names in an exhibition match and makes more money.

Looks like Manny is willing to ruin his legacy, well that's his career so I hope he will be happy with his decision:)

I don't think it will ruin his legacy though, Floyd just got on the HOF recently, and for sure Manny will in the next couple of years. Maybe he really missed the action or just another job for him and his family, to continue to make money through his God given talent.
4356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Web5 a "catch phrase"? on: July 09, 2022, 11:06:49 PM
Do we really understand first what Web 3 is? I doubt it, so why they are inventing like something new that it's predecessor is not even clear for the majority?

So for me, and to be honest, no one really care, if Web 3.0 for them means DAO, NFT then so be it. Maybe what's clear for them is to make money. Just like what bitcoin is the beginning, everyone is really into the background, the open source the people behind, the technology. But once it found it's way to make money for ordinary people, then they totally forget about it's root.
4357  Economy / Economics / Re: Sri Lanka Economic Crisis is Getting Worse on: July 09, 2022, 10:44:32 PM
I guess this is the effect of the war in Europe. Perhaps they have been in worsening scenario already with the pandemic, but it then added when they can't buy fuel, they don't have enough foreign currency to pay. And worst, it was reported that they only have a week supply of fuel left.

Not sure if a revolution is needed to change who is heading the government, but they are in dire problems, and in the verge of collapse. China might step up to help though.
4358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc and crypto can only stay if it getting simple also secure people are afraid on: July 09, 2022, 10:24:42 PM
[..snip..]

Lol, heard this argument many years ago, but come to think of it, if the new set of investors are thinking the same, we should be dead by now right? But last year alone, we reaches new all time high.

So the question is is there are clear plan and path way to resolve those mentioned issues so the non traders non speculators or swindlers will start to adopt and get in crypto and use it daily ?
Also t b honest you cant pay taxes of crypto its a on gambling stage right now and any earning is just luck
Its like u walk in the park find 50$ bill and u paying taxes of this ?

I guess those who have been in this market for so long, or at least see the up and down in 2107 bull run and then the subsequent bearish cycle knows how to work with this so called "flaws". And it's going to be a vicious cycle, so it's up to you to adopt or go with the traditional way of investing like stocks or other commodities.
4359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 09, 2022, 04:13:02 PM

And he has been criticized as well by many basketball analyst, leaving Nets and then the Warriors winning the championship? That could really hurt Durant inside that's why he wanted to leave and find a new team to win again. But time is running out, it will be hard to find a championship caliber team in exchange of him.

Actually Durant should not be surprise that the Warriors won a championship because the Warriors are already a championship team before he joined the team. He only made the Warriors better but they are still good even without him, as Draymond said, "we don't need you", he was right.

https://nba.nbcsports.com/2018/11/16/draymond-green-reportedly-told-kevin-durant-we-dont-need-you-we-won-without-you-leave/

This is the reason why Durant join the Warriors because he know that this is already a championship caliber team and he will get more higher chances to get a ring with them compare if he stays in OKC. Now its proven that he cannot lift up his team when he's on Brooklyn and this one indicate that they don't need Durant to win another championship.

I think it's not just Durant that has been affected by the Warriors winning, obviously though he is the first one to be impacted. The whole NBA has to evolved again, imagine former players of Warriors getting good pay after just one year, maybe teams know they have the experience already. West teams like the Wolves as well, maybe thinking of getting big could offset the Warriors by getting Rudy Gobert. And I mean everyone is upgrading their roster now because the Warriors has raised the bar again, winning their 4th and definitely wanting to stop them to get their fifth. So that is the "Warriors effect".
4360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Recent Experience at a Land-Based Casino on: July 09, 2022, 10:56:08 AM
The casino will understand the case so I doubt that they will fire the casino worker. It's just the circumstances, and in any case, the casino can even ban the man from their floor, they also have that right to do so if they wanted to help him. And maybe the casino worker can do is to tell the casino so that they will eventually exclude him.

A casino worker can't just ask the casino manager to exclude that person from entering the casino. Why should a casino do that if that's their customer? The person involved is not even doing some illegal things or having a bad attitude toward that casino. It's just that an alarming thing happened because the worker yelled at that person that caught the attention of anybody.

It's not just a casino worker though, it's a relative of the person so he knows what is going on with that guy. Of course it's business for them, if he losses everything in their casino's good, but at least let their casino worker explain and maybe they will have some sympathy or maybe tell their casino worker what will be the best recourse of action (intervention, gambling rehab etc..).
