4361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 17, 2022, 08:21:29 AM
Di Maria will be out for a while due to a muscular injury. Might open an opportunity for Cuadrado to switch sides. I assume if that works out well it might not even be easy for Di Maria to return once he cured his injury.
Bad luck for Di Maria. Great debut and then an injury in this first match. It's being predicted that he will be out at last 20 days, maybe even a month due to his age and slower recovery process. Cuadrado is certainly moving back to his natural right wing position with Kostic getting control of the left wing. But Di Maria remains a class better than both Cuadrado and Kostic. As soon as he gets fit, he is going to be a starter.

I am not sure yet though what to think of the role Juventus could be playing in the Champions League. It still feels they are a good bit behind compared to City or Bayern at this stage. I might be wrong though.
They sure are. Without strong central midfielders, no team can expect success in the Champions League. Seems like the transfer of Rabiot to MAN U has been blocked due to the wage demands of his degenerate agent/mother. I hope she gets her shit together and manages to reach an agreement with the staff from MAN U because Rabiot's transfer is essential to bringing in Paredes from PSG.
4362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The implications of cryptocurrency on the global economy on: August 16, 2022, 04:11:52 PM
I don't see it. For something like that to work, crypto would have to be completely regulated. No anonymous addresses and anonymous sending. The world's biggest countries don't want to take their chances and gamble with something they can't completely control. Making Bitcoin legal tender would affect the position and strength of their national fiat currencies.

And Bitcoin wouldn't even be able to sustain such an enormous influx of new users. Imagine what that would do to transaction fees when millions of new users start using it. Instead of 5-10k of unconfirmed transactions, which is a high number by itself, we could be looking at millions instead. And then that situation would have the opposite effect on people. Why would I want to use Bitcoin to make my purchase if I have to pay at least $30 in fees if I don't want to have my transaction stuck in the mempool for days?

Vlašević scored a double and continues to prove that it was a top buy...
Dušan Vlahović Wink

but it's interesting that the two former Juventus strikers have also had a great start to the season.
I am guessing you mean Alvaro Morata who scored two goals in Atletico Madrid's win during the weekend, but who is the other one? Dybala? He did feature for Roma and his team won, but he didn't score or provide an assist. I didn't watch that game, so I can't comment on his individual performance.
4364  Other / Meta / Re: I come across a Database Error on: August 16, 2022, 09:06:34 AM
This one is different from the other ones you mentioned and the one DdmrDdmr linked to. Although the title says "Database error", it has got nothing to do with a database error of the forum. It's an error message the user Nekeni experienced when he was trying to open his Armory wallet.

Hello,

I got a database error message when trying to launch Armory

"The DB has returned the following error : command checksum failure. Armory will now shut down."
4365  Economy / Reputation / Re: Total time logged in: 1 days, 14 minutes. on: August 16, 2022, 08:46:46 AM
I have learned that just because it looks like Bitcoin, sounds like Bitcoin, uses similar terminology as Bitcoin, and it can be mined in one way or the other just like Bitcoin, it doesn't make it Bitcoin. One was created to benefit the people by the people, the others were created by individuals or groups that wanted to get rich from the investments of the people.
4366  Other / Meta / Re: How to get 1 merit? on: August 16, 2022, 08:36:00 AM
You have been here since 2020 and you haven't even made 10 posts yet. If you continue posting in a similar fashion, you need a few more years to become a Jr. Member. Try and get involved in some normal discussions about Bitcoin and your activity will increase and so will your merit count if other members find what you share worthy enough. Thanks to yahoo62278, at least you don't have to worry about the merit requirement anymore.
4367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 16, 2022, 08:24:44 AM
The penalty from viahovic was a nice one.
He shot in the middle of the goal, there was nothing special about it. Had the keeper not moved, he would have shot straight at him.

I was pleasantly surprised with Bremer last night. I already remember him as a physically-gifted defender from last season the way he manhandled Vlahovic in both matches against Torino that made the coach substitute Dusan because he couldn't do anything. But in Juventus, Bremer plays in a slightly different role. He is positioned on the left side in the defense, whereas he used to play in the right central back role in Torino. He was massive in aerial duels and recorded a few blocked shots as well.

Alex Sandro played a great game. I hope the arrival of Kostic makes him man up and continue in the same way. I don't like seeing Cuadrado on the left, but he had to make room for Di Maria who attacks from the right side.

There were still a few negatives last night. Juventus can't keep possession and were made to defend for big parts of the match. The Locatelli-Zakaria pairing was bad. Especially Loca gave the ball away far too easily. Di Maria got injured and was immediately substituted to be allowed to rest after about 70 mins. Hopefully he won't be sidelined.
4368  Other / Meta / Re: Campaign to improve posting quality for local boards on: August 16, 2022, 08:05:51 AM
So, if you are in support plz use code, Sir.  Smiley

Code:
I’m in support of improving posting quality as suggested by 1miau and GazetaBitcoin.
Supporting the campaign is not the equivalent of applying to translate the threads and customizing them in the local section, right? To do that, I would have to reserve the language as described in the OP. I might be interested in doing the translation as well, but only after I see the German thread, so I can get a clear idea of what exactly we are talking about.
4369  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why I wouldn't buy Ledger Nano S ever again? on: August 16, 2022, 07:51:25 AM
I completely agree with everything that you said, but at the same time, it has led to more work for other developers [I recently noticed a few of them released two versions for their apps, just so it could fit the nano s a bit longer while also taking out some of its functionalities] and fewer features for its end-users.
I guess you are talking about the light and XL versions of crypto apps. I wasn't even aware that these existed until someone mentioned it in a different post. Polkadot is one such app, for example. If you have a Nano S and you want to install the Polkatot app, Ledger Live will install the light version by default. But if you have a Nano X/Nano S Plus, you can install the XL version. Some of the features of the XL version aren't supported in the light app. There is even a support article by Polkadot that mentions that if you install the XL version on your Nano S, you won't be able to use your hardware wallet with Ledger Live. I assume you can't work with the Polkadot asset through LL, but it doesn't affect other functionalities of the hardware wallet assuming you have enough storage capacity on your Nano S.

Quote
NOTE: Ledger Live natively supports only the light version for the Nano S. If you install the XL version you won't be able to use your Ledger Nano S with Ledger Live.
Source

Unfortunately, the same can't be said with regard to some of its official resellers Cry
Some of them still have the Nano S in their inventory? As soon as that stash is sold, I am sure they will remove any mention of it as well.
4370  Other / Meta / Re: What section of this forum is between off-topic and these? on: August 15, 2022, 06:21:03 PM
Actually, it's possible to move posts, but AFAIK, only moderators can do it.
Hmm, I didn't know that. I have never seen it happen though, but I wouldn't be surprised there is such an option. However, my previous reply remains accurate in the sense that OP can't move his posts. He could request and report them to be moved, but I seriously doubt the staff would bother moving posts from Off-topic to Serious Discussion or similar less important sub boards. Such functionalities are probably reserved only for quality contributions that would be a better fit elsewhere.
4371  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why I wouldn't buy Ledger Nano S ever again? on: August 15, 2022, 06:07:59 PM
Some people running Linux are reporting issues with S plus, so pay attention on this, but I think Pmalek loves Gates so he is still using wiNd0ws spyware os:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/wo6wzj/issues_with_ledger_nano_plus/
Nah, Gates is no longer involved with Windows. He is more into vaccine spyware right now. Grin

Regarding the issue you linked to, I have seen problems related to Ledger failing the genuine test before. Sometimes it's the cable, other times it's the USB port, or local firewall/AV settings that prevent the software from communicating with Ledger's servers.

This is one of the recommendations their support team issues in such a case:

Quote
I understand that you are having some difficulties connecting your Ledger device to Ledger Live, don't worry, this is a common issue that can be troubleshot fairly easily, you might have done some of the steps below, but please double-check to make sure that all of them are followed thoroughly:

Launch Ledger Live as administrator (right-click on the app icon then "Run as Administrator"), this is very crucial.

Use the original USB cable that came with the device.

If you don't have the original Ledger cable anymore: make sure you are using a cable that enables data transfer, instead of just a charging cable.

Try to use another USB port and try connecting without a USB hub/dongle if you're using one.

Close all other programs running on your computer, especially the third-party wallets.

Turn off your anti-virus, VPN, and firewall temporarily. Whitelist Ledger Live if possible.

Update your drivers if an update is available, you can find instructions on how to do so in this article).

Restart your computer.

The cable especially needs your attention. If you don't have the original Ledger cable anymore, we recommend you buy a new one that you are sure that allows data transfer. Feel free to also check out our OTG kit as it supplies a set of 3 different cables to help you connect your hardware wallet to your Android phone or laptop.

On a different note, the good old Ledger Nano S has been retired and is no longer mentioned on the official site. Under products, there is only the Nano X and the Nano S Plus now. Same thing on the shop.

Goodbye old friend...

Wow, just wow. I just read the trust feedback you posted on his account. I wasn't familiar with this user or his style of writing, and I actually thought he was being serious. One might even call it a mental instability. How else would you describe a person claiming he is responsible for "moving" the price of bitcoin from $19k to $40k? If that's the direction this discussion is heading towards, I would say off-topic, P&S, or even archival are the perfect locations.
4373  Other / Meta / Re: What section of this forum is between off-topic and these? on: August 15, 2022, 11:40:10 AM
First of all, you can't move posts, you can move your threads. What sub-board they belong to depends on the subject being discussed. It's difficult to answer without knowing what threads you are thinking of moving and where. Also, some threads can fit in multiple boards and moderators can have different interpretations what the perfect board for a thread is.

The best thing would be if you could list the threads you want to move, state where you would like to move them, and then we (including staff) can share our feedback if that is the way to go.
4374  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: owl.games scam on: August 15, 2022, 11:12:21 AM
If this is indeed what happened the I must say that both parties share part of the responsibility: The player for not ignorant of the casino's ToS and exceeding the limits by placing multiple bets on the same game and the casino for allowing him to do so in first place.
Yes. If the player tried to trick the system he needs to answer for his actions, but such a manipulation shouldn't be possible in the first place. I think the casino is more at fault than the player in this situation.

Voiding all bets is a reasonable and fair decision in this case but I don't see any reason to lock the player's account and seize his fund. What he did didn't cause any damage whatsoever.
No matter what their TOS says, the player should not have his deposits confiscated, only his winnings. If this turns out to be the cause for the seizing of his funds, I am thinking that the casino should be tagged with some red paint unless they fix the situation.
4375  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why I wouldn't buy Ledger Nano S ever again? on: August 15, 2022, 11:03:31 AM
I dug hard, but couldn't find any other reported cases... Did it occur while using the LL or it was connected to a third-party wallet like Tronscan?
It occurred while using Ledger Live and the native Tron app - not a 3rd-party wallet. I haven't done any additional research if other people noticed something similar in the past. The next time I make a Bitcoin transaction, I am not going to sign and broadcast it for a few minutes once the information gets sent over to my Ledger just to see if the same feature is also present with Bitcoin.

It seems the memory issue that dkbit98 mentioned last year, it's starting [somewhat] to protrude from the surface [source] while it hasn't even been a month since they've sold the remaining stock!
The limited storage capacity is a problem, no doubt about that. However, it would be illogical to think that the apps aren't going to get bigger with time, and once they do, the internal memory will become an even bigger problem. When Ledger started supporting Taproot, new code had to be added to the BTC app and that resulted in a bigger size. As soon as some new changes are introduced, we will see another increase in the app size.

Ledger's fault is producing a hardware wallet with such limited memory. But I can't blame them for the size increases of individual apps. It would be like blaming Bitcoin Core for each new block that gets added to the blockchain and the resulting decrease of your own disk capacity.

I have to admit that I am guilty of the occasional CROnglish here and there as well. But that's just because I have gotten used to the English terminology so much that certain native words feel like they have been butchered. It sounds like someone forced you to come up with a local translation no matter how ridiculous it sounds.

I support any initiative that makes the forum a better place and improves the posting quality. But I am also afraid that the forum culture is slowly dying and the new generations are all about posting short, grammatically incorrect, meme-filled responses. Many simply don't care.

@GazetaBitcoin
Every time I see your username, I associate it with Italy and think that you are Italian. Although "Gazeta" isn't spelled correctly and it should be "Gazzeta", like Gazzetta Dello Sport, it still doesn't make me think of Romania. I have to keep reminding myself that Romanian is a Latin language and that "Gazeta" probably has the same meaning as "Gazzeta".

Imam nekoliko pitanja.

Zar ljudi još investiraju u ICO projekte?
4379  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: owl.games scam on: August 15, 2022, 07:59:11 AM
Interesting. If their max bet limit is like $2 to $5 and they have these kinds of rules. Why not put a restriction when players place bets? For example, "Error- Max bet amount reached".
That's exactly how it should be and other casinos are doing it exactly like that. I was betting on a rather unpopular sport a few weeks ago on Sportsbet and was surprised that my bet wasn't accepted. I initially thought that the casino limited my account so I contacted the support. Turns out, there were betting restrictions for that particular tournament where you couldn't wager more than €15 per match. If you tried to bet more or make multiple €15 bets, the system wouldn't allow you. That's the proper way of handling such cases.

The Owl.games forum admin hasn't been online since 2 August. I asked them to comment and share their side of the story last week in their ANN thread, but no one has responded yet.

@owlgames
There is an active scam accusation against your casino:
owl.games scam

Can you post in the scam accusation thread and explain exactly the reasons why the player's account got banned and what he did wrong? Point us also to the parts of your TOS that were broken and where the consequences of the player's actions are mentioned. Like the confiscation of the user balance.
