It went through though... crash or drop, I don't know but we're surely going down over next few days. Loaded sold his expensive coins, that's it for now folks  Grin

probably the wall guy from few hours ago  Grin

Well, it's an interesting place to put a wall. Exactly at the point of the last dip. Either he's expecting it to come back to him or he's trying to prop the market.

it's not far away from his sale point though so not sure it's him. That wall would make few dumps to bounce and voila, the price is over of what he sold for.

Something was behind that action, I feel more is to come.

Lot of buying pressure was taken on eating that wall.

FBI actually does what ever the hell they please, anything they cant do public they have mercenary agents for...

The article says that the guy was arrested by Garda Siochana, which is the Irish police.
So unless the Irish police are dumb (which is also a possibility), the coins stay with an Irish court.
Otherwise I foresee an interesting diplomatic issue arising very very soon.

If he is American citizen, or had servers etc. in USA, it's probably USA who asked for his arrest, led the investigation etc, etc.. Irish just got him on their soil probably.

But anyway, not important who got the coins, FBI or IBI Cheesy

Bitfinex has $9m on loan, which is 12.5K BTC @ $700.
12.5K BTC takes us down to $550 on gox.

Is that total for shorts?

Thats the $ people have borrowed to buy BTC. At some point they will need to sell the BTC to pay back the $.

You can "Claim" the BTC once you have gained enough to pay off the loan. No BTC is sold in this case.

That's incorrect. When you exit a long postition on bitfinex, BTC are sold (directly on bfx or via bitstamp).

So what does this mean on their page?

When you close position, coints are bought/sold just like they are when you are opening position.

Profit / loss is added/taken from your usd or btc balance.

Of course someone who wanted to buy a lot of coins could have taken some of the $9m in loans (and not used it) to ensure that the price isn't artificial pushed up before they get their buys filled, when spotted on bitfinex it also convinces more to sell and fill his orders before the perceived crash... which never comes.

Taking the 9m in loans and not using them, is probably cheaper in interest than allowing other traders to use them and pushing the price up.

Yep, loan manipulation happens often..

Bids of more than 40 mill on Gox.  Roll Eyes I have newer seen it that high before. I know one should be skeptical about these amounts, but anyway, seems bullish to me.

that's not any sign to be honest, if bids are low enough Wink. We had huge bids before last 2 crashes too.

Seriously, what kind of money could be made in Bitcoin in 2-3 days only. Is there anything remotely similar to this?
Gambling?

In gambling you're set to lose on the end however you play, here you're set to win hard if you play it good.
