4361  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW / Josh Garza discussion Paycoin XPY CPIG BTCLend xpyerr.ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :) on: August 02, 2015, 02:39:27 AM
Hey hey mate no need to remind me over and over. Indeed all the signs were there, but at the same time, who we believed to be Josh did try a lot to keep the thing going, and say a lot of thing he/she/it/they did didn't make sense coming from a scammer.

And now it may just all make sense, when you learn that several people were posting under Josh's account.
When i leave out that impression that i got from that and just leave the fact, the half empty, half assed everything. (Rebranded ASIC to GAW name for example)
Crap.

Now i believe i learned my lesson and i'm pretty happy i did it now, while i'm still quite young enough.
I just wonder how Homero fell off the face of the map?  We have some pretty good detectives here, but they haven't been coming through as of late.

Here? Here where?. There was rumors that he was in Dubai, but since he had been gone before 2015 in truth, he'd have to be pretty idiotic to not have moved all his ill gains to some safe haven and moved to somewhere without extradition or whatever.

You know, the typical criminal haven?

Happy to see we just got another (2) block. Thank you to whoever turned on the hacks.

We can feel a bit of fresh air after surviving the 666.666 block. Wink

Just let's him crying alone in prison

I'm surprisingly pleased by this. One down, a few to go.

I nominate Josh Garza next. I have personal stake in this one. That one would trully make my day.

Let's pray for karma to do its job. (Yay mixing religions here)
4365  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: M's Miner (Ant/SP) Monitor v5.2: alerts,auto/mass/scheduled reboot/mobile miner on: August 01, 2015, 11:12:17 PM
So i'm trying to use this with S1. Whether via shh or api, MMM never try to reboot them because of this error;

01/08/2015 4:20:51 PM: Reboot of 1S7 requested
01/08/2015 4:20:51 PM: Not rebooting 1S7 because it is marked as Do Not Reboot

Whether i add the miner with Do Not Reboot checked or not, it always report the same error.

This has been reported before.  There's apparently something awry with that logic that I have not had time to look at.

Is there a .conf i can mess around with somewhere? I dont see it in appdata or my documents and i'd really like to be able to control them remotely!

The settings are stored in the registry.  See my first post - the data is stored in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MAntMonitor

Ahah. Thank you for enabling my lazy ass and giving me a quick reply.

I manually edited the value DoNotReboot for all miners to N and it works like a charm. Smiley

So the bug must be when you register a miner, the value is always set to Y whether Do Not Reboot is checked or not.
4366  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: July 25th to Aug 8th diff thread (temp) on: August 01, 2015, 10:55:21 PM
Ohh, i see. I think i misunderstood what you meant by "end after 1000 blocks".

The round is not over yet Shocked

You're not talking about this?;

Adjust time:   After 963 Blocks, About 6.6 days

okay each  diff adjustment   that number starts at 2016  and count down to 0

so

 when 2016 - 300 =  1716   that is the start of picks
when 2016 -1000 = 1016   that is the end of picks

we are at
2016 -1053 = 963     so picks are ended but winner comes  in 963 blocks  with the new adjustment.  so you are in the running.

Some back ground on why we did it like this.

We used to let you pick just 1 number like 1.11%   and the closest to the real number won.

but people would open new accounts and if you had 1.11%  they would pick 1.10% and 1.12%    so you got fucked inthat you need to be perfect.

so the range came up a .25% range and you must have the right number in your range.

We used to open picks right a way and end them ½ way into the 2016 block diff adjustment we also allowed 1 switch in your picks.

that was a mess and too much work to keep track of.

so we start  picks 300 blocks in and end 700 blocks later at block 1000.  so now we wait about 6 or 7 days to see the winner.

We also speculate on why diff moves about.  or stays stable.  if you look at the threads and we have about 1 years worth you can see a lot of info on diff movement the whys of it being really high  .  20% every 2 weeks for about a year.  to lower like now 2% for about a year.

I see. Thank you for the explanation!

Hmm i guess people using multiple accounts still aren't really penalized, since they can get bigger range.

But at least its harder to get a pick with better odds if you wait and try to snipe the value at the last time with new accounts, since the range is locked.

Ever thought of putting a minimum activity requirement?

yeah but realistically the prize is small 0.10 btc  and so far we have not had 100 newbies in the first hour lock up all the picks.  If that happens I think we would cancel it.

Well maybe they just havent discovered it because there's newbies trying all kind of crazy thing just to get in Sig Campaign. I seen crazier stuff happen for 20 bucks.

I'm still wondering however. Where does the BTC come from, i don't see ads or anything. There is such a kind benefactor who dont mind giving 0.1 every 2 weeks?
4367  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: August 01, 2015, 08:50:29 PM
Yes,but problem is how to make bitcoin, without a job?

A Bitcoin job! Smiley

You could make 100 posts a day with sig campaign, work on a Bitcoin farm.
Setup a Faucet rotator with tons of VMs and VPNs?
Buy and resell? Flip coins? Regular trading?

Will you ship to malaysia

That is a huge hassle, but I guess if you're willing to pay the shipping fees, which will likely be WAY more than the device itself, totally up to you.

I assume you are in the US?
4370  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: mastercard attacking Bitcoin on: August 01, 2015, 06:24:33 PM
Let's not for one second forget, how many people are buying bitcoins with credit cards now. So they still getting income from the bitcoin market

Hmm, well kind of. Are you talking about the Circle service? I don't know other services.

I wouldnt say getting a processing fee is saying they get things from the bitcoin market. Unless you're saying they basically get a part of every market. In which case, i guess they get income from most market, at least in North America where people pay more often with CC than Debit.

Good advice OP

lol@ people getting butthurt and criticizing op

he is just trying to help.

yeah he just trying to help us to get digression.
no one want bought dead altcoin, and op suggest us to bought them.

To be fair, he did say to NOT buy dead coins. He did say you need to buy coins with volume. Thus probably not dead coins.

The OP didn't post such bad information. It's just lacking depth.

Investing in debatable alt coins... brrr
I will give it a try if you fund my adress Wink

4375  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking giants who supports bitcoin technology on: August 01, 2015, 04:32:34 AM
Decentralization goes against everything big banks stand for. I could see them using blockchain technology for a centralized system though.

Yeah i agree. The blockchain is a pretty good and secure super-ledger. I understand why many expert would study how the blockchain is made. I'm not sure why everyone obligatorily link the blockchain to BTC.

Hopefully this will ultimately lead to a more mainstream adaptation of BTC.
4376  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Karpeles finally getting some Japanese style justice - hang 'em high on: August 01, 2015, 04:11:24 AM
is it fake? he was really arrested or no?
Sounds like he was really arrested. There was an article on /r/Bitcoin earlier today stating that the Japanese police were going to arrest him on August 1st, and it looks like they arrested him as planned.

Any verified source? Links? There's alot of spam, but a real source would be nice.

Here was the source I saw on Reddit. It's in Japanese, but translated it sounds like they arrested him.

Ahh i see. Thanks. Well i guess we can just wait and soon enough such big news will surely hit and we'll hear about it non stop. If it's true anyways.

I'm not against that guy getting what he deserve...
4377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Robbed of BTC at gunpoint -- a real concern? on: August 01, 2015, 04:09:43 AM
I don't see how this is an issue. Even an old lady or anyone else can easily guard against this.

It's merely a point of people not being idiots and instead being careful.

Alot of people have some kind of "this can't happen to me" mentality or "the odds are so low".
True may the odds be low, some people are just too carefree.

People shouldn't keep a wallet with their priv key on them. Not their main one.
It would be best if they only kept the money they need on them.
I don't see why some guy should walk around with a weak security wallet holding multiple BTCs when he's just going out for a coffee.

I'm very certain the number of bitcoins being stolen at gunpoint will be far far far far far less than the number that will be stolen by hacking. That is what we need to be concerned with as it is also harder for old ladies etc to guard against.

Compared to the threat of hacking, bitcoins stolen at gun point is virtually a non-issue.

xD Maybe the old ladies shouldn't walk around with BTC then?

Stealing bitcoin at gunpoint sure is possible but it doesn't seem very efficient?;

-HEY, HANDS UP. Give me all your bitcoin! *Show gun*
-Oh damn, yes sir, just let me ... boot up the app. Boot up my QR scanner. Okay mister, would you kindly hand me over a QR of the targeted address?
-There, and now i'll verify you actually sent me all the BTC you have (.......right?)
-Here sir, would you like to wait for a confirmation before releasing me?

Haha. I guess there's always the chance of hitting a motherload.

There was a video of him being arrested, but it was deleted off youtube. I saw it before it got deleted so it is real.

Also, the japanese yahoo article of him being arrested has been deleted.

IDK why it got deleted though, that seems fishy to me.

Hello to all,

I'm a totally newbie here and in Alcoins in general, I must say after reading the post and comments, I don't understand the critics and attacs, he said very clearlly that nothing is guarantied, that it's from is own experince and it worked for him,it's a sugiestions and demm nice one , must say.

Thanks for the guid, it gives a direction to think about.

Ben

Agree, at least we must thanks to OP for share about what he do, despite the result for follower differ from the title  Grin

Yeah this isin't a bad thing to look out for, the title is just deceptive and inaccurate.

Beside this there's no reason to attack OP.

At least he isint trying to sell this "information". Tongue I've seen it happen here.
4380  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Will the new invention by Intel & Micron help PCs to replace ASIC again ? on: August 01, 2015, 12:58:35 AM

Nooopee. Not many algo make use of memory. Not much else to say.

Stacking memory sectors in 3D has been talked about for a while now.

It's going to be cool for gaming rigs and some very few memory intense applications, however.

As far as I know, xPoint is currently only applicable to non volatile mass storage as an extension of NAND flash.

Ahh, but both technology are years away and i doubt 3D stacking ram and ssd are 2 completely different concept that just happened to appear at the same time.

The article also mention effect on DRAM and end with "keep your SSD and RAM for now".
