4361  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will stable coin be the necessary thing in every public chain? on: December 20, 2019, 05:29:43 PM
Public chain with 'Bitcoin or ETH'(which price will keep going high) can support its ecosystem business going scale, Clearly the costs to the DAPP developer and the customers is going high along with.

Maybe every public chain without a stable coin will vanish eventually. Any ideas my friend?

Stablecoins serve very useful purposes. They help traders or crypto users escape volatility . They don't necessarily have to be backed by fiat currencies. They can be backed by lots of stable but "decentralized" things.
I think it's important to have stablecoin on Blockchains especially if there are demands for them.
I guess a cryptocoin can be algorithmically controlled to behave more better than stablecoin and typical cryptocoins in the area of price. It could be controlled to move up or down gradually. If this is achieved, stablecoin probably wouldn't be necessary
4362  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the difference? on: December 20, 2019, 03:39:29 PM
Many people want to see their governments adopting crypto currency and using it to replace fiat in their daily life. If it happens futurely, it will be in a centralized way of course. Governments will create their own crypto currencies and force people use it.
But my main concern is: why would they do this if there is already digital cash?
Isn't a centralized crypto currency the same than digital cash? What is the difference, if there is any?

Share your thoughts, please.
Transaction history. You can find transaction history publicly by searching a certain public address. Unlike digital cash that you can only see transactions if the owner of that money show it to you.
If the government adopt that it will help them to monitor every balance enter on that address and they will know how much money in it.

I think it's beyond Blockchain transaction history. Afterall they have more advantages with the current bank ledgers. They will probably go for private "Blockchain" or for some sort of immutable ledger/pseudo-Blockchain. I bet there are serious research towards this or they already have the solutions.

4363  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginners interested in short term trading, don't overcomplicate things on: December 20, 2019, 02:48:36 PM
Good one. In addition to that, a newbie could also buy below the stop loss after the his/her stop loss is filled. Any direction the market takes can be a opportunity to make some money. I guess a trading notifier will be useful in this case.
This is especially recommended for those who trade with what they can afford to lose.
4364  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright Says Blockstream Hacked Him to Forge Documents on: December 20, 2019, 12:46:34 PM
What documents? Can't new & original ones be provided or something? Well, I doubt a real satoshi would have his main documents online without hashing them prevent manipulation or even have the duplicates stored offline. I think the inventor of Blockchain wouldn't keep his important documents on internet without having them properly secured or having a backup.
4365  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance freezes account linked to Wasabi Wallet on: December 20, 2019, 12:17:04 PM
IF Binance is really doing this then the CEO is really screwing around with people and will cause a big domino effect where everything falls apart because he knows better than anyone else users here can tolerate KYC but they cannot tolerate freezing of funds just anyhow like this! This is really bad news if true.

Exactly. I sometimes wonder what the point of using these things when funds can easily be frozen, just like fiat.
Well, I think it's important to inform newbies of the options available in Crypto world, like option to either be their own bank or let the "banks" hold their money for them. Those who choose the latter shouldn't blame cryptocurrency when their funds get frozen.
By the way, the exchanges terms of service  should always be shown to people once they sign up or logged in. And it has to be short, clear and easy to understand.
4366  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin volatility here to stay? on: December 20, 2019, 09:43:54 AM
Obviously yes, otherwise bitcoin has no more purpose, the volatility is the only reason why bitcoin is so famous.

Otherwise, people would go back to the stock market
Yeah that's the main characteristic that must be possessed by Bitcoin, the price volatility of Bitcoin is also very good as someone's trading job because traders can benefit from price volatility. I think the price of Bitcoin will always be volatile.
before the bitcoin market capitalization became large, Bitcoin will continue to experience the great volatility that it is today, many people like it but some also hate it because the capital of traders and investors loses because of that great risk
I am one of those who love bitcoin volatility because with it we can buy at a cheap price and sell at high. If bitcoin was not volatile it would remain at the same price so there must be no profit for investing. Right now the price is quite low but still its moving and I am sure one day it will be more than double and give us a lot of profit so we should keep patience.

Well bitcoin's initial purpose was to be make actual transactions faster and easier. Of course volatility will always be there as even fiat currencies move up and down in value. What may very well happen is for the volatility to recede and be a little more stable. Perhaps by that time, bitcoin will start to be seen as something that you can spend for your daily needs instead of just a store of value.

I doubt it will ever be "stable". And by stable I mean not moving up or down. Stability is actually relative. If you can find the most stable thing in the world and pair it with USD, you will end up calling USD too volatile.
The most important thing is to have Bitcoin moving in a healthy way, and not extreme movements.
Besides, As long as Bitcoin is deflationary/scarce/limited in supply, it will keep going up than down. This should happen naturally else there would be longterm problems.

It can be a good store of value. We will always have people who would like to save their coin  as long as they can. If they don't see Bitcoin as a good store of value, they will look for something else. Maybe GOLD or another coin that is a good SoV?
4367  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with Fiat or Crypto? on: December 20, 2019, 07:44:16 AM
If he goes down means your income also dropped dramatically. How about that? what do you do if that happens ...? Are you betting again to increase your income. For example, you win 0.1 bitcoin ... then the price drops far. If you wait for the price to go back up, it means you will vacuum first to bet?
That much volatility can be ruled out in bets smaller than 10btc. You have to understand that the market though labelled as "very volatile" by many people, its not the correct term to use. There is less than 5% change in market price of bitcoin these last few months except this 1k USD crash and rise this week. So your dollar value of the bet is more or less same even if prices tank or rise.

But this is an inherent risk with the cryptocurrencies. You cannot avoid it. It does not mean that fiat has the advantage of being completely stable. Both has its pros and cons and fiat will not provide the anonymity that crypto provides.

I think our dependent on fiat currencies is why it's quite hard to ignore the regular significant changes in the price of cryptocurrency. If most of the world begin to depend more crypto and less (or not atall) on fiat, I think prices of "crypto-priced" goods & services could become the new yardstick. We could even observe casinos adjusting prices based on demands and prices of other crypto-priced goods/services
4368  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who wins and What next step? on: December 20, 2019, 07:09:15 AM
Flipcoin is a luck-based game, right? Meaning there is no skill involved? Well, I do not fully understand what you are trying to convey because I am not too familiar with the game.
So from my observation of how similar luck-based games work, I think one will likely come out victorious in person to person competition.
4369  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Question and Traditional Markets on: December 19, 2019, 05:48:54 PM
When do you think that Stocks and other traditional financial derivatives will be connected to Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies?

Is this even possible? And if this was possible , could we see futures using BTC to short example GOOGLE?

Or if i wanted to trade my BTC for Google stocks , is that possible?

I think this is possible in the future, but it depends on governments. They will probably prefer to bring cryptocurrency into their world rather than go into crypto world. So, you will likely follow their difficult rules before you'll be allowed to participate.,whereas in real Crypto world (which is basically a decentralized world) rules are quite straightforward and not too hard.
We can only be sure of trading decentralized "companies" in the future

I think there are companies that offer similar  service... I am not sure though
4370  Economy / Economics / Re: Question about MarketCap and Cashing Out on: December 19, 2019, 04:37:37 PM
So lets say BTC is worth 100K / BTC

Now lets say that i have 1 BTC , and i wish to sell it to someone and they say "I'll give you cash -5%"

So i take Fiat money , and take out 95k and proceed to send them the BTC.

Would the market cap go down if i took out 95k out of the market cap?

How would anyone know or how would the metrics figure out that 95k has been taken out in cash if i have just sent BTC to someone else?

Thanks everyone!

The price is simply determined by demand and supply. Better still, the buyers and sellers determine the price of Bitcoin.
For example:    if there are too many sellers than buyers selling at market price of $10,000 per bitcoin, the sellers will be queued until they find more buyers willing to buy at that price. If the numbers of buyers remain low, some sellers will sell at lower available prices. This data is automatically calculated on multiple exchanges and used to determine the average price of Bitcoin.
So, your transaction will have little effect on the price unless there are many sellers like yourself and less buyers
4371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: KEEPING A DEAD COIN’S BLOCKCHAIN ALIVE: IS IT POSSIBLE? on: December 19, 2019, 01:45:11 PM
The coins are currently not being mined? And no new block is created? No transaction is taking place any longer. So, the project is abandoned.
The developers probably don't want their projects to be completely dead hence they keep few things running.
4372  Other / Off-topic / Note: Fear + lack of love is why the world is in a mess. on: December 19, 2019, 12:58:41 PM
The undeniable truth:
— if you do not love GOD with all your heart and soul.
— If you don't love both your friends and enemies
— If you don't love GOD's creatures such as animals, plants etc

There will be too much fear and evil in the world.

* GOD will turn his face away from you.
* Animals will continue to flee from people
* Humans will continue to have problems with themselves. Evil will keep growing.

If you love GOD plus others things mentioned above with your heart... This's what I think the World will be like:
A Paradise!

° We will no longer disobey GOD's law.
° The curse on earth will be lifted
° Humans and animals will no longer fear nor eat each other.
° We will be interdependent. That is, trees will produce their fruits for us, animals will produce their milk, egg,. We will nurture and care for them.
° There will be food in abundance.
° We will share with one another.
°  No need for owning properties or foods
° We will live freely.
° There will be no need for security.
° Capitalism, communism and other ideologies will die off

- Love GOD
- Love your friends and enemies
- Have faith and fear not.
If you do those ^, GOD will always protect and be with you.
And you are commanded not to fear anything because HE is always with you

The gospel of love, faith and charity is what the prophets preached and were brutally killed. Why you may ask, because the gospel makes no sense to hardened sinners and the blind. It is not based on "reality". But it works without doubting. It works with faith!
4373  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOTHING IS ABOVE BITCOIN on: December 19, 2019, 12:15:04 PM
I like to see what China will bring to cryptocurrency next year when they launch their coin. There are trying bring coin that wont have anything to do with bitcoin, lets see the response even with the population behind it.
Government backed "cryptocurrency"?
Well, China already has a currency... it's the Chinese fiat currency... both digital and physical. I guess what the government needs is to fully convert the fiat currency into digital coin or just use stablecoin backed by the its fiat currency. A coin that does not have the main features of cryptocurrency do not really deserve to be called a cryptocurrency,in my opinion

4374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The best crypto projects created in 2019? on: December 19, 2019, 10:52:39 AM
I honestly don't understand why everyone is looking for "new projects" all the time. Compare it with the real world. Would you rather invest in some obscure no-name business, or Google, Apple, Amazon instead?

The ICO craze is over, better just invest in proven projects, it's way safer long term, and you actually know they don't exit scam, if they've got a few years of history behind them.

It's clear that everyone wants to profit fast, but it's just a stupid and risky move considering new projects dump just as quickly too.

Top 10 coins is always a pretty low risk investment, but if you really want to chase a high ROI, you need to look into projects below the $10 mio marketcap evaluation.

Blocknet is a good, which has been running since 2014. I believe this one could pull a 100x easily next bull run, since they was the first to make a real DEX, and what most people don't realize is, it's the only real DEX on the market to this date. All the other "DEX's" you see competing, isn't truly decentralized, sadly.
Blocknet also solves the oracle problem, which means they can connect blockchain, and real world data together. You can see the results for youself if you join their Discord server. You can pull a ton of info from their Xrouter. Pretty damn cool  Grin

This was just one project though, do your own research...

Your Blocknet promotions are quite tempting. but I worry it may not be exactly what you say it is in your promotions. Question is, is it a fully decentralized exchange, with no central point of failure? If yes, why is it not being promoted by many "reputable" people in Crypto who recommend decentralized exchanges.  You guys need alot of convincing to do,i guess.
4375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A BOLD player is considered a dangerous player at casinos and sportbooks. on: December 19, 2019, 09:50:37 AM
And on the casino side being an admin, you shouldn't be nervous if you have found a player like that on your website.

As long as the "dangerous player" isn't a hacker or does not exploit the casino's vulnerability lol.
^This could be some of the things the casinos are worried about. This is probably why they put in some checks to investigate some extraordinary wins before the winners are allowed to withdraw their wins
4376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The pain of playing unders in Football on: December 19, 2019, 09:00:47 AM
I think this is a bet that few players like to play it.I think that the reason is easy enough to understand, when playing Under in the moment that a more number of goals are scored the bet is lost while by playing Over your hopes of winning the bet remains alive for a more amount of time and Over happens more than Under I think.I rarely have played Under and almost always have lost the bet so I can understand your pain. The same can be said for both teams to score, when playing yes you have hopes until the end of the game, when playing no if both teams score the bet is lost and that is the reason many players play the yes option.

I understood what Op is trying to say, after reading your post.
Well, I doubt I would watch a match after betting on either one of the bet types. Watching the match could cause alot of tension.. . You'll be expecting a win and the win has to be specific to your bet.
4377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [What IF] Part 9 on: December 19, 2019, 08:12:33 AM
Hello, running a bit late again,...
So let's get started already, I hope everyone is on a very good condition this time even though holidays are pretty coming near.

What if,... you're just watching someone on a Casino that suddenly keeps winning for a streak then after that he notice you and gave some money as a tip for his luck. Would you use the money he gave you to try your luck on that game (or any game you like) ? Or just keep the money for yourself for a good cause?

So tell me, what's gonna be...

I will definitely keep the money if it's huge. Afterall I came to the casino to gamble, "get lucky" and "make some money", right?  I made the money already. Unless there are skill-based games available, i'm skilled gambler and confident in my ability to win some games, I wouldn't be taking another risk for that day
4378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using i2p with Bitcoin? on: December 19, 2019, 07:55:41 AM
Just went through I2P on google >wikipedia
This interests me:
Quote
I2P running on Android.
Release builds of an I2P Router application for Android can be found on the Google Play store under The Privacy Solutions Project's Google Play account or on an F-Droid repository hosted by the developers. [76]
Nightweb is an Android application that utilizes I2P and Bittorrent to share blog posts, photos, and other similar content. It can also be run as a desktop application. It is no longer in development.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/I2P

Would be nice to have something like that on mobile devices (and easy to use.). The lack of mobile & easy-to-use version could prevent lots of people from using or taking it seriously. I wonder how well it runs on mobile devices though.

In fact, there was a Bitcoin fork that worked on I2P back in 2013 or so.

Is the Bitcoin fork still in existence and working on I2P?
4379  Other / Off-topic / Re: Venezuela’s Maduro Says He Will Airdrop Half a Petro Each to Public Employees on: December 19, 2019, 05:26:38 AM
Petro dump incoming!
He does that as a help to the citizens but i don't think that this is going to happen, due to the fact that everyone is going to sell it and buy food or dollars. We know the story with the airdrops.

The coin is meant to be "stable" as far as I can tell. It's basically backed by oil, so it probably moves along with the price of crude oil or something.
The most important in my opinion is for the coin to be run as typical cryptocurrency otherwise it can't be valued much internationally.

It has to be transparently ran. It has to be immutable, censorship resistant and permissionless.
If it end up working within the country it could work outside as well. The government just needs to avoid running the coin itself. It should be ran by the people especially by the creative and innovative ones in the country.

Venezuelans including public sector workers, retirees and the military are set to receive a petro token handout this Christmas, so long as they register for the state's crypto payments platform.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced Friday that those groups would be airdropped 0.5 petro (said to be worth $30) as a holiday bonus this week,
according to local news source El Universal.

0.5 petro($30) in total? I am not sure this is correct.

Quote
the president also said more than 500,000 petros would be paid out from the state’s own supply to support town and local governments across the country.

Oil price is about $60 per barrel, petro should probably be $60 per coin. (Petro coin price = Oil price.)
500,000 petrocoin is about 15Million dollar.

accepted as the nation’s fiat currency, the sovereign bolivar
It nice the petro is called fiat currency and not cryptocurrency.
