4381  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are people buying BTC @ $27000+ idiots? on: August 19, 2021, 10:10:53 PM
Why are these people called "idiots" just because they bought when the price was $27k?  There is no ideal price standard for Bitcoin. You can buy whenever you want as it is your choice. If the goal is to HODL, then it doesn't matter much that you bought at a high or low level. You just learn to be patient and set a price goal for yourself. Leave the rest to Bitcoin. Maybe you will wait for weeks, months or years to reach your goal. But it will be worth it at the end.

Of course the ones who buy the dip are very lucky. They have a potential to make a much bigger profit than the others if they make right decisions about their investments.
4382  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you be able to take an additional work if required? on: August 19, 2021, 10:04:43 PM
In my country, people are working for so many hours. It is more than the normal weekly working hours (like 40 hours in a week). Of course, not all people are working for this many hours but there are too many people like this. Because more than 40% of the people in my country work with minimum wage. And employers act like they are slaves of them. They want them to work for inhuman hours and they don't even want to pay their overtime wage.

This is really sad and I hope that it will change someday and my country will become one of the developed countries.
4383  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Debunking the "Bitcoin is an environmental disaster" argument. on: August 19, 2021, 09:55:45 PM
Bitcoin is not an environmental disaster. Before it comes to Bitcoin, there are so many things that are really detrimental to the environment. People and companies are really aware of this actually. But they still insist on accusing Bitcoin of being the most harmful thing for the environment.

For example, it's been proved that banks are consuming too much energy (even more than Bitcoin) and really harmful for the environment also. But people don't want to mention it. They are only aiming to blame Bitcoin for something. Why are people like this?  Do they still have problems on absorbing cryptocurrencies?  Are they afraid of Bitcoin for real?
4384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 18, 2021, 08:18:52 PM
We are going to have a really interesting game between Roma and Fiorentina this weekend.

As we all know, Roma have a new manager from now on, Jose Mourinho. He has a really great past with an Italian team before (Inter). Maybe he will have a similar season with Roma also, who knows? But I'm definitely expecting Roma to have a much better season compared to the last one. I think that they will compete for top 4.

When it comes to Fiorentina, they were too bad in the last season. They ended the league at the 13th place and they were only 7 points above the relegation area. But their young forward Vlahovic has drawn people's attention to him by his great performance.

In the end, I think that Roma will start the season with a nice victory. But it might be a win with a 1-goal difference.

https://www.transfermarkt.com/as-roma-complete-abraham-signing-only-man-united-have-higher-transfer-deficit/view/news/391155

Roma have finally completed the Tammy Abraham transfer by paying €40m for him. I heard that Arsenal, Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and West Ham all wanted to sign him and made an effort to do so. But he decided to go to Roma at the end.

He is still a very young forward and he is open to improvement. And I think that Roma are a right place to shine for him. They have sold Dzeko to Inter. He will only compete with Borja Mayoral. And I believe in Abraham to be the first choice of Mourinho this season.
4386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: August 18, 2021, 08:01:48 PM
Barcelona have started really well even though Messi has left the team and joined PSG. Many people including me were expecting a weak Barcelona without him. And they played a tough game on the first week against Real Sociedad actually. Because Real Sociedad ended the last season at the 5th place. But Barcelona still dominated the game and simply destroyed them 4-2. Braithwaite was the player of the match for certain with 2 goals and 1 assist.

Of course, I know that it's early to say but Barcelona can really have a good season this time as it seems.
4387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 18, 2021, 07:56:34 PM
This weekend, we are going to watch a superb game between Arsenal and Chelsea in Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal have started really badly. Brentford destroyed them 2-0 home. Arsenal had big problems in the absence of Lacazette and Aubameyang. They are still injured and their return dates are unknown for now. Without having their best attacking players, they will surely struggle against Tuchel's Chelsea.

Chelsea destroyed C. Palace 3-0 without even Lukaku. And it is said that Lukaku is going to be able to play against Arsenal. This changes everything for this match.

I think that Chelsea will not have too much problem on defeating Arsenal here. Arsenal still seem to be a problematic team.

The only game that I successfully predicted the result of was Norwich - Liverpool this week. Even though there were really surprising results on the first week of the EPL to me, our friends in the group were really successful. I'd like to congratulate them. I joined this awesome group for the first time ever in this year. And I'm quite angry at myself because I didn't join it in the past years.

The rumours about Harry Kane are still going on. He is still expected to join Manchester City before the end of this transfer window. However, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy doesn't seem like he will be leaning towards a deal like this. Kane is their best player without doubt and Levy doesn't want to lose him. But on the other hand, Kane still wants to leave the team as soon as possible. He didn't play against Manchester City today due to personal reasons. Maybe these reasons are related to this possible transfer or something else, we don't know it. But I'm hoping to see him leaving the team now and joining City. He can achieve titles there but it's obvious that he won't be able to do it here.
4391  Economy / Economics / Re: Can developing countries follow El Salvador use Bitcoin? on: August 15, 2021, 10:40:31 PM
I think that it depends on whether El Salvador will reach their target by making Bitcoin legal tender. As far as I know, they bought Bitcoin which was worth $140m and wanted to distribute them among people as $30 each. But I heard something also that people were still not eager to use Bitcoin in their daily life and for investment purposes. If that's true, then the government should develop new strategies to gain their interest in Bitcoin. It should educate its people about Bitcoin well first. Maybe it stems from the lack of knowledge about Bitcoin and the market.
4392  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the legal status of Bitcoin in your country? on: August 15, 2021, 10:35:14 PM
In my country, the trading of Bitcoin is not illegal. And it is not officially legal also. Because there are some regulations on the way and I assume we will see them before the end of this year. Until the regulations start being active, shopping with Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency is illegal. We can just trade our coins in crypto exchanges. I guess the government wants to tax the transactions while buying something with crypto but they can't do it as we are waiting for the regulations. However, it's not clear yet whether the government will let people buy something with Bitcoin after the regulations.

4395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can BTC become the world central currency? on: August 14, 2021, 07:18:39 PM
It's a good question that everyone is curious about a certain answer of it. In my opinion, this is not very possible. Because Bitcoin is a volatile cryptocurrency. Maybe its volatility is getting lower in time (which I don't believe so) but the volatility will never be gone. This is the nature of Bitcoin. It's been like that since it was first released. Governments wouldn't lean towards making it legal tender that easy. For now, there are only some developing countries that are aiming to do so. Developed countries are searching for ways to keep their currency's value and they are developing their own digital currencies at the same time.
4396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 14, 2021, 07:11:18 PM
We had really awesome games today.

In the Manchester Utd - Leeds game, I thought that I watched the best game ever these days. Manchester Utd had an incredibly good performance. They literally obliterated Leeds, 5-1. Pogba and Fernandes were extremely impressive. And I think the player of the game was definitely Pogba. He made 4 assists in one game which was insane to witness. Fernandes made a great hat-trick also. Manchester Utd have threatened the rest of the clubs in the league by having a start like this.

In the Chelsea - C. Palace game, Chelsea did the expected and erased their opponent, 3-0. Lukaku wasn't able to play as he was lacking match fitness. But Chelsea were still able to win this easily.

And in the Norwich - Liverpool game, Liverpool made a solid effort and defeated their opponent 3-0 away. Salah had a very good start by scoring 1 and making 2 assists. There were some speculations like he would leave the team some time ago but he stayed. Klopp must be happy about it.
4397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 14, 2021, 07:02:12 PM
Over the Lautaro Martinez matter, I think that he won't leave Inter this summer. Romelu Lukaku has already left the club for a price around €115m. And he made the club a lot of money that's for sure. But one thing is certain that Inter have lost a great deal of power after he's left. And they wouldn't like to lose more power on their attacking side.

However, they need money to make their financial condition better also. So, there is a dilemma for them here. And when it comes to Martinez, I think that he wouldn't like to leave the team for a less powerful team like Tottenham or Arsenal. Therefore, I don't think that these clubs will be successful on signing Martinez this summer.
4398  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin doesn't care about Tesla and Amazon on: August 13, 2021, 12:38:30 PM
It stems from the market's getting bigger and bigger every day. As the market and Bitcoin also become stronger, it is getting harder to manipulate Bitcoin price. We had another example some time ago.

Elon Musk talked positively about Bitcoin but the price didn't even care about it. It was still standing where it was. So, I guess that Elon Musk or any other person have come to realize this. If I were them, I wouldn't try to manipulate the market anymore.

Companies like Tesla and Amazon can only help Bitcoin adoption reach higher levels from now on, I think.
4399  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Altcoins replace Bitcoin?!?!? on: August 13, 2021, 12:25:54 PM
I think that the answer is quite obvious. There isn't any guarantee for Bitcoin to maintain its place in the market forever. Even it is not certain that Bitcoin will continue to exist forever or not. No kind of currency guarantees you such thing. You should always be ready to see even Bitcoin being destroyed by another cryptocurrency in the future. Maybe it will be an altcoin which already exists like Ethereum, BNB etc.. Or maybe, some people will announce a brand new cryptocurrency project in the future. And it will be even more promising than Bitcoin. And after some time, it will manage to leave Bitcoin behind and capture its throne.
4400  Economy / Speculation / Re: No BTC Holding is risky on: August 13, 2021, 12:16:39 PM
Actually, we can't call it as "risky". Because it feels weird. Rather than being risky, we would miss a very big opportunity to e.g. double or triple our investment in the long run. We don't have to invest a very high amount like tens of thousands of dollars into Bitcoin for example. Even if we make an invesment which is worth around a few thousand dollars or less for example, we would make a lot of profit.

And I believe that the best place to make an investment for a long term is definitely Bitcoin. Maybe you can be a daily trader or a short term investor in general. But I recommend all people to buy some Bitcoin also and to HODL it for years even it's needed to reach your goal. I say "your goal" considering you set a price goal to sell when it's achieved. It's an important action to take also.
