4381  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I doing the right thing on: July 08, 2022, 11:59:13 PM
How can a newbie invest in good altcoins? I know about BTC and ETH but I think I can make more money from altcoins instead of BTC and ETH, I did my research and I have a few projects in mind but I don't know if they are worthy..

Avalanche, Mina protocol, Phala network and Aleph Zero to name a few

There is no right or wrong investment in crypto, it's that the risk is very high in specially in altcoin. Who would have thought that a solid coin like Luna will crash? reaches all time high then, break in the top 10, then suddenly the price literally went to 0?

So you can do all the investigations on your end and find what suits you, but still at the end of the day, it is not a perfect world, we don't know what the future holds. Perhaps Avalanche, Mina protocol, Phala network and Aleph Zero will go on a bull run and succeed or it will fail miserably.
4382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 08, 2022, 11:39:15 PM
There is a rumor that Pacers are interested on the services of DeAndre Ayton. They are negotiating a sign and trade centered on Miles Turner.

However, we have heard that Phoenix is also interested on KD. If they push this one, they might be erasing their chances to land the KD sweepstakes. Or it might take more players from them, maybe they will have to include Booker now or Crowder and Bridges.

That would be a terrible move for Phoenix. Turner is decent but not on the level of Ayton.  If Durant is on the table then yep aytun should be on the move but I'd be highly surprised if Phoenix would ever make this move.

Don't put anything past the horrible management of the Suns.  It's clear that Ayton ruffled some feathers with management and they don't feel like they can resolve their differences.  Either Ayton goes, or they find a new head coach.  They seem to be choosing to let Ayton, maybe their best prospect ever, leave them for whatever they can get.  I'm sure they'll regret this move eventually, even if they do get Durant.  Sad.  If it were me, I'd be saying goodbye to Monty Williams and begging Ayton to stick around.  That's with no knowledge of what Ayton is like in the locker room, but it seemed to me like Booker was a bit jealous of Ayton and holding him back a bit.  Will be interesting to see how Durant destroys the team chemistry next year as he forces Booker out of the limelight.

It will not be a replacement that's for sure, Ayton is more agile, but I guess it was more on the mental side of basketball for Ayton. I know @OgNasty is a big fan of Phoenix and Ayton, but at least he knows that it is time for his boy to let go of the management.

It might not be exactly Turner, but for sure the Suns are shopping him and will trade Ayton in a heartbelt. I don't think that it's Monty Williams fault, but we can see in their series against Dallas that he has to pep talk Ayton and you can see Ayton's body language.
4383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can the price Hit back $50k this month? on: July 08, 2022, 11:23:14 PM
Nobody really believes this could happen. Don't get me wrong it is a good thing and hopefully we will reach 50k, and even 100k or 500k. I would love it because I have some bitcoins, probably would be my retirement if we reach 500k to be fair.
In fact, you may never retire because after all, the more money you have, the higher your desires. Tongue

We will never get rich overnight unless we are too lucky. $50K is a possibility which is currently still expected to happen throughout the year, but I assume that's a bit too far for now. I wouldn't think $100K would be achievable over the next 5 months, but in the next 2-3 years it's always possible.

Probably retire with his usual day job because he can live with the money he has earn through accumulating bitcoin in years. $50k is possible, I mean we have reach that price already even $60k, it's that we experience the bear market and that's it.

We are again being challenge, patience to wait in the next 2-3 years for the next bull run and see $50k, $500k or more.
4384  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 08, 2022, 10:57:47 PM
That's a big challenge for him, he has to start over again but it's never too late for him, he has the heart of a champion, it's just that he struggle to keep the weight in the division where he was a champion.

Yeah, but Casimero is already on his prime years and he just wanted a couple of fights already. So if he will start all over at the new weight class, it might be too late for him to get another belt. The perfect time is when he won it against Tete, then defended it against Duke Micah and unfortunately he can't do it against Butler. And there are no fights for him this year, so another chances squandered.
It's really unfortunate because he is not that young already to start over at the upper divisions but I seriously think that he does not have much of a choice here but to start again and try what he could do in super-bantam or featherweight where his weight is not an issue. He was a given a but it's sad that he just wasted it because it is pretty clear that he is struggling on his weight, so best thing to do is move-up.

Yes, he is in his early 30's, fighters prime age, he could be destroying anyone in his path and could have set up mega fight with Inoue. But we can't bring back the clock, he will have to accept and then go back to zero, climb his way back in to super bantamweight, 122 pounds (I think he can still bring his power in this weight, but 126 pounds might be too much for him. He needed to get back at least one fight maybe late this year or early 2023, just to bring back his confidence.
4385  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ano ang plano niyo ngayong bear market? on: July 08, 2022, 09:38:26 AM

May bear market thread tayo pero on this thread gusto ko malaman ang mga ways niyo to survive this season.

4386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Anyone Think Luna Will Recover? on: July 08, 2022, 08:53:32 AM
It will be hard to trust Luna again or anything that comes from the Terra/Luna team.

Most people thinking (hoping) that there will be a successful recovery, or reboot, are simply hoping they can recover some of their losses, but I don't see it happening.

It's over for this project, the people behind has been exposed, many lost their money and obviously trust on the projects. So there will be no way for them to recover.

Their investors started to look for other projects already, maybe some have move on despite the money that they have lost and never come back again. But for sure, those who lost millions will have to come after the project itself and see how the Korean government will handle this case and give back the compensation for those investors.
4387  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 08, 2022, 08:20:48 AM
Well, a former GSW player, Payton II is no longer going to be part of his champ team. He'll be out of the team and will play for Portland Blazers. This is like a week old news but I've just seen it.

I thought that most of them will be retained by the management but it seems only those that had really contributed a lot. Thus, this is part of the business, letting go is a must and happens most of the time.
It's a sad separation but this is all for them. Now, they will have better salary in different teams and all they have to do is keep up what they are doing in their newly found family. JTA and Otto Porter Jr. also signed in a different team.
It will happen eventually and I have seen the Warriors team discover new talents in their roster, I bet they will do it again. Some name who is not a known will shine again whenever they need it.

They've gotten a better contract when they left GSW, so that is already a big plus for their career. Other teams saw them as a big potential player for them, as they have the experience now as NBA champions. JTA to Lakers, Porter to Toronto if I'm not mistaken and the biggest contract amongst ex-GSW, PGII with Portland.

It's bitter sweet but the Warriors will have to deal with it letting go of them. I'm looking for somewhat a big return in Chase center for this guys, for sure there will be a championship tribute.

Anyone who are looking for a big contract could sign to the Warriors to be trained by their system, these young guys are privileged to play with Curry and they get better. They deserve that big contract as they really work hard, now, the Warriors are ready to add new faces to prepare for the next season.

Yes, Warriors have proven that time and time again, that their organizations can build a player and then trained to become a superstar. In the long run, it's a good decision by the management to left this player go. GPII might be looking for bigger contract and obviously the Warriors can't give it to him. And they still have a lot of rookies that they improved, Kuminga, Moody, Wiseman that can replace those players that they let go. And I expect the 3 to have more playing time next season.
4388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 16 on: July 08, 2022, 07:56:21 AM

Many are underestimating Fortuna and always looking forward to Ryan Garcia's next fight because Javier Fortuna is a nobody, I should say I don't want Garcia to underestimate Javier Fortuna, just b because of his hype, but I got to admit the next fight for this kid, will be the most anticipating fight in all boxing, Jervonta "Tank" Davis is a monster and the kind of uppercuts, likely a calculating opponent and surely a technical genius so Ryan Garcia needs a little smarty moves aswell,

And the fact that Davis was still in his prime while the young Garcia might need more solid boxing experienced, in this upcoming

fight with Fortuna, he needs to show more skills and maturity. If he continues to be more predictable, facing Davis would be

his nightmare. Davis is a monster indeed. He will keep throwing solid punches if you try fighting toe-to-toe and what I see

from Garcia's style, he will dwell with that and also will try his strength. But we never know, maybe a lucky solid punch

will be his ticket to earn a belt Roll Eyes

That is the reason why Gervonta Davis was nicknamed "Tank" because of his solid chin, but his chin was just his second best ability because his defensive and offensive capabilities are indeed much smarter and lethal. That said, Ryan Garcia should really improve himself to the best version that he could possibly attain if he wants to take out Davis soon because if he won't, I'm afraid that Davis will be the 1st boxer to carve a loss in Garcia's record.

Right, he was built like a Tank, short but very solid base (legs), and then a good chin. I wouldn't say solid though, I can't recall which fight it is wherein he was buckled, but because of his frame, he was able to still stand despite that blow. Again, this is going to be Ryan's big test, and if he comes out flying, with a statement knock out win, then maybe Davis or any champion or at least rank higher in any organization will take Ryan next.
4389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 08, 2022, 07:06:10 AM
^^ Well Floyd has a obvious hidden agenda to tell us that there is negotiations, because he wanted Crawford to be his manager. And maybe if Bud Crawford will sign with him, then that is the time that this fight is going to be made, hehehe. But still the fight can still be made in October, we still have 3 months of it and many things can happen along the way to put this fight in schedule at least for this year.

There might be some truth in what Floyd Mayweather is speculating despite having a hidden agenda, however. He might have information of the sensitive occurrences in those negotiations. Also, I disagree that Spence vs. Crawford will be this year if October schedule is not confirmed. I speculate that it might be on 2023 or 2024.

Could be, but it will be definitely Floyd hand has some "blessings" in this fight. Him and Crawford in public together? hmmm your guess is as good as mine. Maybe not direct manager per se, but Crawford might be asking for some advise  from him. And if everything is not settled within the time frame, then maybe next year is the schedule and it could be in Floyd's backyard of Las Vegas. And imagine the money that is going to flow on fight night, casino's, hotels everyone will be making money out of this mega fight.

I guess everyone is now excited as the fight is getting nearer, here is the Press Conference:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSR5C3sst-g

Move forward to 17:12 for Magsayo's question and answer, Magsayo is looking for a knock out guys, and he said straight it to Vargas, bro down run too much, so that we will give a good fight to the fans, hehehe.
4392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Recent Experience at a Land-Based Casino on: July 07, 2022, 10:59:36 PM
I recently visited a land-based casino after a long time to gamble, have some drinks and enjoy live music with a couple of my good buddies. Not long after we settled in, we heard one of the casino workers yelling at one of the gamblers. He said, "Sir please you have to leave now. You come here every day and you keep losing. Please be considerate of your wife and your newborn babies." The backstory is that this particular man is a very popular gambler at the casino not because of his winnings but because he keeps losing. Despite his losses, he would return to the casino the next day to gamble. From the story, his wife had just been delivered with twins. I would later find out that the casino worker is his nephew.

If you were the casino manager would you fire the casino worker for interfering with your business or would you ban the gambler from visiting the casino?

I thought that the casino worker is not related to the man, so I guess he/she is just concern because of the story behind.

The casino will understand the case so I doubt that they will fire the casino worker. It's just the circumstances, and in any case, the casino can even ban the man from their floor, they also have that right to do so if they wanted to help him. And maybe the casino worker can do is to tell the casino so that they will eventually exclude him.
4393  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Inflation can really ruin a coin on: July 07, 2022, 10:34:58 PM
Isn't it obvious though, I mean with a coin that has billions of supply, it will have to had billions of investors as well just to be able to have a good value. As compare to the bitcoin, very limited, the demand is high and everyone wanted to have a piece of it.

And maybe this is one reason why tokens or coins have this so called "burning" process". So that taking a number of X amounts will drive the value.
4394  Local / Pamilihan / Re: NBA discussion, betting and etc. on: July 07, 2022, 10:45:17 AM

4396  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the dip and Invest in Bitcoin for long term on: July 07, 2022, 09:29:03 AM
Not just ignore, but if we see others preaching and saying that bitcoin is dead then that is the perfect opportunity to buy, hehehe. Just like in the past, 2018 bearish cycle, we've heard perma bears coming to live and try to destroy bitcoin, and i would say that they are successful because many have sold that time and pull the price. But moving forward to 2021, we have a new all time high. So this cycle will repeat all over again. Invest right now in this bear market and hold and wait for 2024-2025.
4397  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ] The Rematch - JOSHUA vs USYK II (updated thread) on: July 07, 2022, 08:43:41 AM
And this is what former Brit champion David Haye has to say about Joshua if he losses to Usyk again:

Quote
“If he doesn’t win, I am not sure he wants to be in a sport where he knows he is not the best. He got out-hustled by someone he knows he can beat and if - he does everything right and Usyk still beats him - I don’t know if there is anything else for him to do in the sport," Haye said to The Sun.

“He is such a winner that I don’t know what he does next, if he loses again. He believes he has all the physical abilities to beat Usyk, so do I, so with the right plan he can get the victory.”

https://www.boxingscene.com/haye-believes-joshua-retire-from-boxing-if-usyk-wins-rematch--167462

I disagree though, I think Joshua can still continue with his career and fight again. But he has to go to a lot of fighters, gain his confidence back. It doesn't mean the end for him, but it could have a devastated effect as he has all the tools to be a great HW champion.
4398  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: July 07, 2022, 07:58:06 AM
Egyptians were probably gambling over slaves. Kinda crazy to think how long gambling has been around and what it looked like from the start up til now. People went from fighting in a pit and wagering on the winner, to throwing dice in a casino, picking numbers on a wheel, or playing a slot machine.

Or probably asking for divine intervention?

Anyhow, yeah dice has been with us since the beginning of human race, no doubt about it. Maybe it was not really design for gambling in the beginning, maybe in the later period. And old civilizations such as China and India, the Greeks have their own dice, from knuckle bone of animals to woods.

But I'm more interested on modern games such as slots and roulettes, and good read.
4399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Third Largest Russian Oil Firm to Launch Crypto Mining Operations on: July 07, 2022, 07:31:30 AM
I wonder how the united states will react to this considering that russia are under multiple sanctions from them.

That's what I wonder too. The best thing that could happen would be for the US and Russia to enter into a Bitcoin mining competition, but as things stand I don't see that happening. Although there are a lot of miners in the US, but I mean it would be taken as a matter of state. With Biden's energy policy, I don't see him incentivizing mining.

That's will be good if both US and Russia enter into a bitcoin mining competition, but I doubt it will likely happen. At the end of the day it's business from the Russian, but you have to think as well that they might be doing this and see the reaction of US?

On the other hand, an ally of Russia, China who is issuing a hard line stance against bitcoin mining because of it's supposed bad effect on the environment, so how will they react to this?

So the world is really messed up isn't it.  Grin
4400  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Roller coasters!!! on: July 06, 2022, 11:57:27 PM
couldn't really call it a rollercoaster since the real rollercoaster of a cryptocurrency market has occured at around luna crash.
currently it's just floating around 19k - 20k and it's definitely normal, even at bullish things like this also occured.
though most of altcoins right now are indeed having high volatility that the movement of their value varies a lot like celcius

Still is, if you look at the last all time high and where we are right now. Few recoveries in Feb and March and then going down April-June.

As for the manipulation, whales have been in the market for so long that maybe they have control of it. Although one can argue that as the market gets bigger, the more difficult it will be for them influence. But what they do might really affect the price if you see big sell orders in an exchange or some social media highlighted that there is a huge movement like withdrawal. I believed that they are and will be some super whales that are going to do this to have the upper hand and make more money.
