Although I'm disappointed with the news that Manny Pacquiao will come out of retirement by participating in an exhibition match, that's his life.

As a fan of Manny, just it's pretty disappointing to see him on the bandwagon on what Floyd has started for retired boxers. But we have to understand where Manny is coming from.

He thinks that's fine or maybe he missed fighting in the ring already. I just don't understand why it should be against a Youtuber and not a real boxer that also on retirement now. With his impact, he can challenge those retired big names in an exhibition match and makes more money.

Looks like Manny is willing to ruin his legacy, well that's his career so I hope he will be happy with his decision:)

I don't think it will ruin his legacy though, Floyd just got on the HOF recently, and for sure Manny will in the next couple of years. Maybe he really missed the action or just another job for him and his family, to continue to make money through his God given talent.
4382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Web5 a "catch phrase"? on: July 09, 2022, 11:06:49 PM
Do we really understand first what Web 3 is? I doubt it, so why they are inventing like something new that it's predecessor is not even clear for the majority?

So for me, and to be honest, no one really care, if Web 3.0 for them means DAO, NFT then so be it. Maybe what's clear for them is to make money. Just like what bitcoin is the beginning, everyone is really into the background, the open source the people behind, the technology. But once it found it's way to make money for ordinary people, then they totally forget about it's root.

I guess this is the effect of the war in Europe. Perhaps they have been in worsening scenario already with the pandemic, but it then added when they can't buy fuel, they don't have enough foreign currency to pay. And worst, it was reported that they only have a week supply of fuel left.

Not sure if a revolution is needed to change who is heading the government, but they are in dire problems, and in the verge of collapse. China might step up to help though.

[..snip..]

Lol, heard this argument many years ago, but come to think of it, if the new set of investors are thinking the same, we should be dead by now right? But last year alone, we reaches new all time high.

So the question is is there are clear plan and path way to resolve those mentioned issues so the non traders non speculators or swindlers will start to adopt and get in crypto and use it daily ?
Also t b honest you cant pay taxes of crypto its a on gambling stage right now and any earning is just luck
Its like u walk in the park find 50$ bill and u paying taxes of this ?

I guess those who have been in this market for so long, or at least see the up and down in 2107 bull run and then the subsequent bearish cycle knows how to work with this so called "flaws". And it's going to be a vicious cycle, so it's up to you to adopt or go with the traditional way of investing like stocks or other commodities.
4385  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 09, 2022, 04:13:02 PM

And he has been criticized as well by many basketball analyst, leaving Nets and then the Warriors winning the championship? That could really hurt Durant inside that's why he wanted to leave and find a new team to win again. But time is running out, it will be hard to find a championship caliber team in exchange of him.

Actually Durant should not be surprise that the Warriors won a championship because the Warriors are already a championship team before he joined the team. He only made the Warriors better but they are still good even without him, as Draymond said, "we don't need you", he was right.

https://nba.nbcsports.com/2018/11/16/draymond-green-reportedly-told-kevin-durant-we-dont-need-you-we-won-without-you-leave/

This is the reason why Durant join the Warriors because he know that this is already a championship caliber team and he will get more higher chances to get a ring with them compare if he stays in OKC. Now its proven that he cannot lift up his team when he's on Brooklyn and this one indicate that they don't need Durant to win another championship.

I think it's not just Durant that has been affected by the Warriors winning, obviously though he is the first one to be impacted. The whole NBA has to evolved again, imagine former players of Warriors getting good pay after just one year, maybe teams know they have the experience already. West teams like the Wolves as well, maybe thinking of getting big could offset the Warriors by getting Rudy Gobert. And I mean everyone is upgrading their roster now because the Warriors has raised the bar again, winning their 4th and definitely wanting to stop them to get their fifth. So that is the "Warriors effect".
4386  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My Recent Experience at a Land-Based Casino on: July 09, 2022, 10:56:08 AM
The casino will understand the case so I doubt that they will fire the casino worker. It's just the circumstances, and in any case, the casino can even ban the man from their floor, they also have that right to do so if they wanted to help him. And maybe the casino worker can do is to tell the casino so that they will eventually exclude him.

A casino worker can't just ask the casino manager to exclude that person from entering the casino. Why should a casino do that if that's their customer? The person involved is not even doing some illegal things or having a bad attitude toward that casino. It's just that an alarming thing happened because the worker yelled at that person that caught the attention of anybody.

It's not just a casino worker though, it's a relative of the person so he knows what is going on with that guy. Of course it's business for them, if he losses everything in their casino's good, but at least let their casino worker explain and maybe they will have some sympathy or maybe tell their casino worker what will be the best recourse of action (intervention, gambling rehab etc..).

4387  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Registers as a Digital Assets Service Provider in Spain on: July 09, 2022, 10:23:41 AM
It looks like we'll more countries accepting them. This also reminded me of the time CZ visited Philippines last month and talked about Binance applying for a license to operate as a Virtual Asset Provider (VASP) in the country.

Yep, but for sure majority of us Filipinos took advantage of Binance in our country, win-win, and I'm taking advantage of it because they support local banks and virtual wallet (G-cash), at least we have more options. So meaning competitions might drive services and produce features for the better.

So I'm not surprised by this another expansion by CZ in Europe. And this could be just the beginning for CZ having his foothold in EU. But there will be such time that CZ will be so powerful, just saying.
4388  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for July on: July 09, 2022, 09:48:53 AM
We can tbh.  Next resistance in the daily chart is at 28k and the bounce could very may well reach that imho.  But we'll see.  Crypto has been very sensitive to any kind of bad news lately.  You know...  The bear market of things.  Total opposite of the bull market when a little bit of good news would pump a random coin around 5x in just a week.  Cheesy  That's when the market is easy to trade.  The one we're having rn should mostly be avoided.  Then again, I could be wrong.  17.5k could be the bottom.  But as I always say, we'll see...  Nobody can really predict these things.

I would like to think that the worst is over and that for the rest of the month we will be in the range of 22,000 to 28,000 USD. As you say nobody predicts these things but it looks like we are not going to go below USD 20,000 again, which is a very cheap price for the cycle we are in, and in the future people will look back and think: 'I wish I had bought at 20,000'.

Not sure though if the worst is over, we still have the last quarter for this year, although historically last quarter specially the month of November-December might be good even in bear market, but we are still not out of the woods yet. There could be some announcement from Fed that might affect the price this July or the next coming months. But if you are talking $22k this month, yeah it could be achieved easily as we are almost on that price range already.
4389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: July 09, 2022, 08:51:22 AM
There is less than a day left before the fight and now the boxers' chances are leveled and the adds return to the original ones, let the strongest win, but I will still cross my fingers and wait for Mark Magsayo to win.

We have to unite here to support Magsayo on the biggest challenge in his boxing career.

He knows how big is at stake here, his current belt and his future depend on the outcome of the fight, so he has to win this.
Magsayo by KO, that is my prediction.

Same prediction here, there's no other way but a KO win is what would make Magsayo impress the boxing community. Lots of criticisms in the past, but he is here again to prove that he is a legit champion and he is going to successfully defend his belt.

Magsayo to win by KO @5.18, hoping my ticket will hit.

Of course, we gonna support our boy here, Mark by KO or by decision. As I have shown earlier, I have put a ML already for Mark and then tomorrow before the fight for sure I will bet again.

Here is some predictions, from SP (Shawn Porter)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0qdiyW9KWI4

And it's also good to hear what we have been saying about that this could be the break out fight for Mark just like Pacquiao in 2003.

4390  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: July 09, 2022, 08:22:44 AM

I guess Bob's careful match making, and that's why he made a lot of champions, and not sure about it, but perhaps it was all in-house championship fights.

But not all boxers loved his style, I believe there are plenty of boxing superstars that left his promotion because they are not getting the fights they like. Just like Manny Pacquiao, when he left Bob, he had the full freedom to choose the boxer that he lights to fight, and Manny had already earn more money in a fight since Bob has no more slice of the revenue.

If I'm not mistaken, Bob let Pacquiao go, I guess Arum really knows that Manny is already way past his prime. But Pacquiao prove otherwise, winning against Thurman, but that was his last straw. And maybe Arum is right for not signing Manny anymore. As he can build someone to become a champion and make money for them, he can also destroy one's career.

https://www.bostonherald.com/2012/03/18/costly-error-by-gamboa/

Quote
Gamboa had agreed to face Rios in what was a highly anticipated matchup of young lions, only to suddenly refuse to even attend a series of press conferences around the country to hype the fight. Instead he was silently training at Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s gym in Las Vegas, leading to wide speculation that he intended to jump from Arum to Mayweather’s promotional company.

Not surprisingly, HBO pulled the plug on Rios when it became obvious Gamboa had no intention of fighting. Arum is now doing the same on Gamboa, filing a suit against him in federal court in Nevada for breach of contract alleging he has full paperwork indicated that Gamboa (20-0, 16 KOs) had agreed to the bout’s terms and was still under exclusive promotional contract with Arum. In addition to Gamboa, Arum is also suing a number of unnamed promoters alleging tortuous interference with his contract. Arum’s suit also claims Gamboa accepted $70,000 in advances against the purse after signing for the fight.

And then his career was put to a stop, and after he was cleared to box, he was just a shell of his old self and never reaches the pinnacle of his career.

Unfortunately, nangyari na rin sa kin to in the last couple of weeks.

How can a newbie invest in good altcoins? I know about BTC and ETH but I think I can make more money from altcoins instead of BTC and ETH, I did my research and I have a few projects in mind but I don't know if they are worthy..

Avalanche, Mina protocol, Phala network and Aleph Zero to name a few

There is no right or wrong investment in crypto, it's that the risk is very high in specially in altcoin. Who would have thought that a solid coin like Luna will crash? reaches all time high then, break in the top 10, then suddenly the price literally went to 0?

So you can do all the investigations on your end and find what suits you, but still at the end of the day, it is not a perfect world, we don't know what the future holds. Perhaps Avalanche, Mina protocol, Phala network and Aleph Zero will go on a bull run and succeed or it will fail miserably.
4394  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 08, 2022, 11:39:15 PM
There is a rumor that Pacers are interested on the services of DeAndre Ayton. They are negotiating a sign and trade centered on Miles Turner.

However, we have heard that Phoenix is also interested on KD. If they push this one, they might be erasing their chances to land the KD sweepstakes. Or it might take more players from them, maybe they will have to include Booker now or Crowder and Bridges.

That would be a terrible move for Phoenix. Turner is decent but not on the level of Ayton.  If Durant is on the table then yep aytun should be on the move but I'd be highly surprised if Phoenix would ever make this move.

Don't put anything past the horrible management of the Suns.  It's clear that Ayton ruffled some feathers with management and they don't feel like they can resolve their differences.  Either Ayton goes, or they find a new head coach.  They seem to be choosing to let Ayton, maybe their best prospect ever, leave them for whatever they can get.  I'm sure they'll regret this move eventually, even if they do get Durant.  Sad.  If it were me, I'd be saying goodbye to Monty Williams and begging Ayton to stick around.  That's with no knowledge of what Ayton is like in the locker room, but it seemed to me like Booker was a bit jealous of Ayton and holding him back a bit.  Will be interesting to see how Durant destroys the team chemistry next year as he forces Booker out of the limelight.

It will not be a replacement that's for sure, Ayton is more agile, but I guess it was more on the mental side of basketball for Ayton. I know @OgNasty is a big fan of Phoenix and Ayton, but at least he knows that it is time for his boy to let go of the management.

It might not be exactly Turner, but for sure the Suns are shopping him and will trade Ayton in a heartbelt. I don't think that it's Monty Williams fault, but we can see in their series against Dallas that he has to pep talk Ayton and you can see Ayton's body language.
4395  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can the price Hit back $50k this month? on: July 08, 2022, 11:23:14 PM
Nobody really believes this could happen. Don't get me wrong it is a good thing and hopefully we will reach 50k, and even 100k or 500k. I would love it because I have some bitcoins, probably would be my retirement if we reach 500k to be fair.
In fact, you may never retire because after all, the more money you have, the higher your desires. Tongue

We will never get rich overnight unless we are too lucky. $50K is a possibility which is currently still expected to happen throughout the year, but I assume that's a bit too far for now. I wouldn't think $100K would be achievable over the next 5 months, but in the next 2-3 years it's always possible.

Probably retire with his usual day job because he can live with the money he has earn through accumulating bitcoin in years. $50k is possible, I mean we have reach that price already even $60k, it's that we experience the bear market and that's it.

We are again being challenge, patience to wait in the next 2-3 years for the next bull run and see $50k, $500k or more.
4396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 08, 2022, 10:57:47 PM
That's a big challenge for him, he has to start over again but it's never too late for him, he has the heart of a champion, it's just that he struggle to keep the weight in the division where he was a champion.

Yeah, but Casimero is already on his prime years and he just wanted a couple of fights already. So if he will start all over at the new weight class, it might be too late for him to get another belt. The perfect time is when he won it against Tete, then defended it against Duke Micah and unfortunately he can't do it against Butler. And there are no fights for him this year, so another chances squandered.
It's really unfortunate because he is not that young already to start over at the upper divisions but I seriously think that he does not have much of a choice here but to start again and try what he could do in super-bantam or featherweight where his weight is not an issue. He was a given a but it's sad that he just wasted it because it is pretty clear that he is struggling on his weight, so best thing to do is move-up.

Yes, he is in his early 30's, fighters prime age, he could be destroying anyone in his path and could have set up mega fight with Inoue. But we can't bring back the clock, he will have to accept and then go back to zero, climb his way back in to super bantamweight, 122 pounds (I think he can still bring his power in this weight, but 126 pounds might be too much for him. He needed to get back at least one fight maybe late this year or early 2023, just to bring back his confidence.
4397  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ano ang plano niyo ngayong bear market? on: July 08, 2022, 09:38:26 AM

May bear market thread tayo pero on this thread gusto ko malaman ang mga ways niyo to survive this season.

4398  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do Anyone Think Luna Will Recover? on: July 08, 2022, 08:53:32 AM
It will be hard to trust Luna again or anything that comes from the Terra/Luna team.

Most people thinking (hoping) that there will be a successful recovery, or reboot, are simply hoping they can recover some of their losses, but I don't see it happening.

It's over for this project, the people behind has been exposed, many lost their money and obviously trust on the projects. So there will be no way for them to recover.

Their investors started to look for other projects already, maybe some have move on despite the money that they have lost and never come back again. But for sure, those who lost millions will have to come after the project itself and see how the Korean government will handle this case and give back the compensation for those investors.
4399  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 08, 2022, 08:20:48 AM
Well, a former GSW player, Payton II is no longer going to be part of his champ team. He'll be out of the team and will play for Portland Blazers. This is like a week old news but I've just seen it.

I thought that most of them will be retained by the management but it seems only those that had really contributed a lot. Thus, this is part of the business, letting go is a must and happens most of the time.
It's a sad separation but this is all for them. Now, they will have better salary in different teams and all they have to do is keep up what they are doing in their newly found family. JTA and Otto Porter Jr. also signed in a different team.
It will happen eventually and I have seen the Warriors team discover new talents in their roster, I bet they will do it again. Some name who is not a known will shine again whenever they need it.

They've gotten a better contract when they left GSW, so that is already a big plus for their career. Other teams saw them as a big potential player for them, as they have the experience now as NBA champions. JTA to Lakers, Porter to Toronto if I'm not mistaken and the biggest contract amongst ex-GSW, PGII with Portland.

It's bitter sweet but the Warriors will have to deal with it letting go of them. I'm looking for somewhat a big return in Chase center for this guys, for sure there will be a championship tribute.

Anyone who are looking for a big contract could sign to the Warriors to be trained by their system, these young guys are privileged to play with Curry and they get better. They deserve that big contract as they really work hard, now, the Warriors are ready to add new faces to prepare for the next season.

Yes, Warriors have proven that time and time again, that their organizations can build a player and then trained to become a superstar. In the long run, it's a good decision by the management to left this player go. GPII might be looking for bigger contract and obviously the Warriors can't give it to him. And they still have a lot of rookies that they improved, Kuminga, Moody, Wiseman that can replace those players that they let go. And I expect the 3 to have more playing time next season.
4400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ryan Garcia vs Javier Fortuna - July 16 on: July 08, 2022, 07:56:21 AM

Many are underestimating Fortuna and always looking forward to Ryan Garcia's next fight because Javier Fortuna is a nobody, I should say I don't want Garcia to underestimate Javier Fortuna, just b because of his hype, but I got to admit the next fight for this kid, will be the most anticipating fight in all boxing, Jervonta "Tank" Davis is a monster and the kind of uppercuts, likely a calculating opponent and surely a technical genius so Ryan Garcia needs a little smarty moves aswell,

And the fact that Davis was still in his prime while the young Garcia might need more solid boxing experienced, in this upcoming

fight with Fortuna, he needs to show more skills and maturity. If he continues to be more predictable, facing Davis would be

his nightmare. Davis is a monster indeed. He will keep throwing solid punches if you try fighting toe-to-toe and what I see

from Garcia's style, he will dwell with that and also will try his strength. But we never know, maybe a lucky solid punch

will be his ticket to earn a belt Roll Eyes

That is the reason why Gervonta Davis was nicknamed "Tank" because of his solid chin, but his chin was just his second best ability because his defensive and offensive capabilities are indeed much smarter and lethal. That said, Ryan Garcia should really improve himself to the best version that he could possibly attain if he wants to take out Davis soon because if he won't, I'm afraid that Davis will be the 1st boxer to carve a loss in Garcia's record.

Right, he was built like a Tank, short but very solid base (legs), and then a good chin. I wouldn't say solid though, I can't recall which fight it is wherein he was buckled, but because of his frame, he was able to still stand despite that blow. Again, this is going to be Ryan's big test, and if he comes out flying, with a statement knock out win, then maybe Davis or any champion or at least rank higher in any organization will take Ryan next.
