So I just got a Gigabyte Vega 56 to try out. There doesn't seem to be a lot of threads out there yet about Vega mining so hopefully this thread can contribute some useful information.
Here's some data:
Stock settings out of the box I get 32.7 Mh/s on ETH. The hash rate drops after four minutes fairly quickly to 30 Mh/s due to temperature increase to 75C.
Increasing the memory clock to 950 from the stock 800 gets the hash rate to 38.9.
If you're running Vegas how many are you running per rig? Are you running with mixed RXs and/or Nvidias?

You need some tweak (like the ones on the RX 4x0/5x0 cards). Monero right now is awesome on those cards. Monero is what I am aiming for but I need to increase RAM to 8GB first. It will be awesome if I can truly squeeze almost $3/day out of the Vega 56 (before electric).

Links to articles about reddit posts are stupid.
BTW, Segwit2x is not an "attack". It is a hard fork promoted by someone other than the developers of the Core wallet. Some people call it an attack because they believe that the developers of the Core wallet are in charge of Bitcoin and only they should be allowed to decide how Bitcoin can be improved.
Not an attack? Why wont the 2x people implement replay protection? Sounds pretty attackish to me. And now Jeff G. is ICOing a coin whose main purpose is to avoid contentious hard forks? Wake up man.

my wallet has 0 active connection after adding node addnode=198.199.113.75 and saved as all file. m i doing something wrong here?
What're you doing wrong is playing with a useless, dead, coin. Have fun though.

yesterday I bought GRIM in coinsmarkets at 750 sat .. and now it costs 350sat .. but i still hesitate to buy more coins .. i'm afraid the price will go down ..
Buy it at cheap price. I believe GRIM will increase more and more. Because Dev team are working hard, masternode is coming and more exchange is coming. How much have YOU bought? **** off.

Another useless, dead, coin. Congrats.

Scumbags and morons, all.

Is the VertCoin pool working? I get an error "empty response from server" when ccminer tries to connect.

If I still mined, I would use this. Too bad I can't make any money anymore, the difficulty is too high these days From 2014, lol.

What's this..? I see its trading on Yobit gone from 532 to 411 where it's currently at. I thought the fork was next month?
No it happened a few hours ago. It hasn't prelaunched per say but it has distributed free coins so anyone who holds a private key for Bitcoin the Yobit thing started yesterday about 25 hours ago. maybe more. and there was another small exchange that i have forgotten the name of and that already had BTG listed for more than 2 days and it was being traded at 0.04 BTC and before yobit listed it price went to 0.06 BTC there also! it is actually becoming a common thing to create "future" markets! i think bitfinex started this by adding BU (bitcoin unlimited) a very long time ago and still has the market despite BU being dead. Hm okey, so I have private keys, what do I do with them to claim BTG?
you have to wait until they start mining BTG and release the software and the wallet before you do anything. but you can move your bitcoin to a new wallet now so that you won't have to wait in the future when they released it and you wanted to claim. Not a good idea... There's probably no replay protection now so if you move your bitcoins you can move (and lose) your Bitcoin Gold too without knowing it The network isn't even running yet and they said it won't be until replay protection is in place. I'm way more concerned about replay protection with SegWit2x. It's a mess.

With the data you have provided about increase in the world population,it seems that bitcoin price would reach $1 million before 2100 itself. On one side bitcoin getting familiar to more people and on the other side, population exploding very high, definitely there would be a very big scarcity for bitcoins in future with people just holding their bitcoins and not willing to sell.
By 2020,it would reach $15k
By 2050,it may reach $100k.
By 2100,it may reach $1 million.
And by 2100 a gallon of milk will probably cost $1000. It's nonsensical to even talk about such numbers, besides the fact that none of us will live to see it. Besides, Bitcoin will be a distant memory by then, it will have morphed into something completely different if not replaced outright.

Just make a online wallet, they will have your private key stored in a safe place. It not so easy to hack a site so you will have less chance to be hacked.
If you have a locally stored wallet they can easily hacked by a wallet stealer. If you download things on the internet there could be a wallet stealer so they can steal it.
Sites get hacked all the time as do PCs. Get a hardware wallet.

So I was reading about the opt-in replay protection for 2x using the "3bit" magic Bitcoin address hack. What a cluster ****. Then I read that they are NOT doing that and there is no plan for replay protection at all at launch.
So what's the current story? If there is in fact no replay protection at all what will that mean for security? This could be a train wreck for both blockchains. It boggles my mind that 85% of miners are backing something that could literally destroy their livelihood.

for what this project is and how it can be used?
This coin will die in the coming months/years along with many others. Funny thing though, it's still somewhat profitable to mine, where is the money coming from?
|
|
|
Probably good money for big holders in the short term, however in the longer run the hype on bitcoin gold will gradually fade. I sold mine and suggest to hold this not too long, also because there's another thing happening in november. Look at the chart of bitcoin cash and see what happened to holders. Good coin or not, trust is gonna stay with bitcoin and nothing else.
How did you sell your Bitcoin Gold considering it hasn't even launched yet?

And proportional distribution absolutely fair for all.
Has never worked in the history of economics.

Music needs a lot of accumulation, because there was no premine, I think the spring will begin to grow, but I hoped that this would happen before hardfork(
No premine, but there is now essentially a post-mine tax.
|
|
|
This is probably the lowest price music will ever get, better grab a bunch now before big spike!
May drop another 25% or more yet before it rebounds. I'll wait. I don't expect any rebound until after SegWit2x, if then.

Giving this a try. Even 5 or 6% improvement helps.
