Very positive over all.
442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sold my BTC during the dip (when it was less than $7k) on: February 06, 2018, 08:05:02 PM
Yeah I know, I should have HODLed but I promise, it was not a stupid or panic move.

I sold it not for cash but for some ICX.  You may also say I used it to buy some ICX.  Or that I re-invested my money.

I just can't pass up ICX at less than $3 per Cheesy

Now let's see if my gamble pays off the next few months.
I won't say that it is a bad decision. ICX indeed is a good investmenr but you should've invested fiat rather than Bitcoin. Holding Bitcoin should be more prioritized but still, that's your decision. So since you've aldready done kt, invest more into icx to gain more profit once its value starts to increase. For now, hold!

not that smart, what you should have done is to get some eth/btc with fiat and buy icx with that because fiat is strong during crashes

I agree but that is another topic.  Easy to say if you have extra FIAT when the opportunity came.  That said, yes I did that too but I bought a bit sooner and not at less than $7k.

The lesson being imparted is that even at lows, you can do something to take advantage of the opportunities presented...with what you have.
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sold my BTC during the dip (when it was less than $7k) on: February 06, 2018, 07:58:37 PM
I think your title is misleading.

I like ICON project, but the question for me, will Altcoin market dip further when the price of BTC starts to rally, because there is a known fact that BTC and Altcoin prices have a negative correlation.

I am very sure BTC will be back to its ATH soon but can't say when that will be

I thought it was clarified at the OP.  I think it is called sensationalism in journalism. Cheesy

It was designed to go against the pure HODL mentality.

Don't get me wrong, I HODL, but it is so difficult to teach others that there are times when it is okay not to.

HEAR!!!  HEAR!!!
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sold my BTC during the dip (when it was less than $7k) on: February 06, 2018, 07:26:44 PM
I experienced that selling coins for any other coin would be nonsense in a crash, because when market rise all coins rise, it may rise more than others but it is same for falling.

Maybe you are doing it wrong?

I bought 900.23 ICX for  0.00044690 BTC each.  They are worth 0.00052318 BTC each now or a gain of 0.06866954 BTC (17.07%)  Wink
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sold my BTC during the dip (when it was less than $7k) on: February 06, 2018, 07:09:19 PM
In my opinion, ICX looks promising too. But I don't understand that why you buyed ICX by selling your bitcoins? I hope your profit will be good for you in the future, good luck!

How do you suppose can I buy ICX otherwise?

Can't buy ICX from thin air...
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Coinbase: Major banks blocking Credit Card purchases of digital currencies on: February 06, 2018, 05:06:34 PM
People shouldn't be buying crypto with credit anyways. Never invest money you can't afford to lose. And ABSOLUTEL NEVER take out a line of credit on crypto.

People racking up credit card debt buying cryptos are morons ... it's as simple as that.

If anything, smart investors who were perhaps paying for crypto with credit cards and then paying off their credit card that same week/month are going to lose out on some miles/points/cash back -- but they will survive.

I agree and I support the move to ban CC purchase of crypto "speculations" (not I did not use the term investment).
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Sold my BTC during the dip (when it was less than $7k) on: February 06, 2018, 04:03:40 PM
not that smart, ...

If I sell the ICX I bought now...I would be up 15% (in BTC) already and it is only the beginning. Wink
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can anyone just stop zombies? on: February 06, 2018, 03:43:19 PM
I think FUD posts by any one member cannot have any significant effect, if you think that his posts are causing this blood bath then you can create shilling posts with positive use and future of cryptos and blockchain technology.
I agree but it spreads bad vibes.  No one need that especially during this times.

The fact that we are discussing it is a testament.
450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex remove many coins ???'' on: February 06, 2018, 03:33:39 PM
given that they already ask for lot of information when listing alts, I don't think many will get delisted. They have to follow the laws.

I think the initial purge removed all coins that doesn't/cannot meet the requirements.  As you said, the new strict(er) listing requirements make sure they comply.
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can anyone just stop zombies? on: February 06, 2018, 03:12:46 PM
I'm not saying that he is not correct in some of the things he says.
I am saying that he is acting like a troll, taking bits of real information and mixing them with a lot of false information and spreading the result with a different scope than just to be informative and helpfull.
The real scope seems to be a completely different one, but in any case it doesn't seem to do this from the goodness of his heart.

LOL...don't sugar coat it.

His intent is definitely malicious...and it is very consistent.

If he really just hate crypto, then go away.  He knows this place is for crypto users/lovers/believers.  Why stay here and keep stirring the pot?  Malice--no other word.

Someone who probably bought at ATH and sold in panic the next dip...then repeated it until he is broke. Cheesy

One of the very few accounts here that I "Ignored"...best thing you can do, guaranteed high return of "peace of mind"  Wink
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: WABI, DRGN or ICX on: February 06, 2018, 02:15:10 PM
I have many ICX, some DRGN, no WABI (yet) Wink

I used to have some WABI but got sold in favor of something else.  As mentioned, all are good projects but if you can only do one...go for ICX.
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good news (I think) BITTREX to add USD US$ pairing... on: February 06, 2018, 02:08:18 PM
This is important. But not very practical. I believe that some other stable currency will eventually replace USDT. Using only USD has several legal implications that make the work of exchanges much more complicated.

Many exchanges in other countries (i.e. Korea, China, Japan, etc.) offer pairings using their local currency.
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Calming the FUD around G20 and regulations. on: February 05, 2018, 10:14:54 PM
The fact that the G20 are discussing crypto is a BIG (no HUGE) PLUS to me.  It is a sign of recognition and acknowledgement that it cannot be ignored anymore.

Once the world see crypto in a good light, we will be in for a major change. Smiley
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: HODL = Hold On for Dear Life ;) on: February 05, 2018, 09:55:50 PM
Is there actually any truth behind that? If so do you have any proof? Also seems a bit weird because there's an F in there  Smiley

Otherwise we could attribute many meanings to it. Hold or Die Losers. Help, oh dear lord. Hold one day longer.

Well, I read it somewhere about Crypto...whether it is 100% true, I am not sure.  Best one I've read though.

Many acronyms don't use all the letters btw Wink

EDIT.  I looked it up for you.

459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When is a coin too expensive? on: February 05, 2018, 09:53:34 PM
Just analyze the market, look at the coin's graphs. I would not recommend buying a coin after a huge rise. It's better to wait until it stabilizes even if you miss some profits, not to loose is always better.

True but the other side is you might left behind further.

Like when BTC, was $90 (it was too expensive) and I bet lots of people waited for it to go back down to $50 and did not buy. Wink   Next they woke up and it is at $300.
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / HODL = Hold On for Dear Life ;) on: February 05, 2018, 09:30:44 PM
So many times we hear HODL and when asked, not many know what it really meant.  Usual answer is a mis-spelled HOLD that got accepted (close but not the real origin).

HODL = Hold On for Dear Life

Now you know. Wink

Anyway, HODL is the best advise when we have a crash like this.  Very appropriate too! Cheesy

DIP or Crash?  well that is for next time. Wink Tongue

(...does it show I am bored?  Better this than spreading FUD.) LOL
