441  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning] USB Malware that targets crypto wallets on: February 02, 2024, 09:25:51 AM
Ok from the links given, the mode of attack is this,

Quote
Cybercriminals are sending “decorative gift boxes” to unsuspecting businesses containing Lily Go USB flash drives that are installing ransomware on targeted devices.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, has released a warning to inform enterprises about malicious USB flash drives sent through the mail to spread ransomware and launch cyberattacks.

As per the FBI, the package comes as a “decorative gift box containing a fraudulent thank you letter, counterfeit gift card, and a USB.”

https://www.hackread.com/fbi-hackers-mail-malicious-usb-drives-ransomware/

So it did start in 2021, targeting Asian countries but still evolving up to this day. It's all about enterprises though that they might have sent this USB. But we just don't know because once it's been propagated, each and everyone of us here could be a victim here. So extreme caution is needed by us.

Doesn't make sense though if you or someone from the enterprise received a USB stricken malware and you will just plug itself on the computer on the network and then click the link.

It might sound new though for us as crypto enthusiast, but we all know that we should verify and not trust anyone specially receiving a USB from someone.

"Decorative gift boxes"? WTF is that, maybe it just to entice, but I would have second guesses that there is something bad on that USB drive itself.

How about the story of Lakers beating the Boston, without AD and Lebron and having Brown just scored 8 point in this game?

And then Austin Reaves taking over the Lakers hitting seven 3 points shot, scoring 32 points. And then D'Lo having a triple double as well. And almost 7 Lakers at least scoring 9 points on more in a team effort?

Just shows how unpredictable the game is, as we have been talking about how the Lakers struggle and now win against the best team in the East without their top 2 players.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Viewpoint of a fan gambling on: February 02, 2024, 02:08:43 AM
I want to find out if there are individuals like me. What percentage of the gamblers in Bitcointalk are wagering and not wagering to their dearest star player, club and team?

I voted for: I can wager against my dearest star player, club and team.

And it's obvious that everyone is not emotional, we will have to go against our favorite team if we see that they can be defeated or not going to win because the other team is too strong. If we bet based on our emotion and not on our won analysis in sports betting, we will surely lost a lot of money on it.

That's why sports betting is kinda different in terms of gambling as we our own analysis as our betting guide goes hand in hand. And in order to become successful, we all rely on our  thorough analysis to make informed decisions.
444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 02, 2024, 12:57:33 AM
In your entire gambling journey, have you ever had a series of losses to the extent you hated yourself so much for being so unlucky?
Yes I have been in this kind of situations before and this one just happen in a single day which I decided to take some extra gambling activities and gamble more than I use to and i spend more than I also use to spend, usually i could have just used an amount between 0.5$-6$ on my local curency to start the day, but that very day I deposited about $9 or so on my local currency and I walk down to slot game.

to cut the whole story shot I lost all that money that day and I deposited again and same thing happened, I was like for a game which is base on luck what happened today, it was not as if I didn’t win any single one but out of 3-5 games I might not even be lucky to win any single one and that was how the day ended.

Lol, just last night I have this experience, I also won some money, but I didn't stop for the sake of looking for more, (greedy). And in the end I lost my winnings + my capital and then deposit twice and lose again.

Very bad experience for me, but then again, it's just another gambling day for me, so I just wake up not looking backward at that losses and experience but think that life goes on and so just take that as a learning experience. And I think everyone here has his/her own experience and how to cope with it.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proverbs and Sayings that Act as Triggers to Gambling on: February 02, 2024, 12:35:29 AM
Just as we have expressed our concerns about certain gambling advertisements serving as potential triggers, I have observed and I think that there are gambling proverbs or quotes can also play a role in influencing individuals. Look at this Chinese proverb, "If you don’t gamble, you won’t know how lucky you are." From this proverb, it can spur a regular person to explore gambling as a means to test their luck and become hooked. Also, the person who has been gambling will want to continue gambling while being hopeful that someday they would eventually be lucky and hit the jackpot.

What other proverbs or sayings could potentially act as triggers, enticing individuals to initiate or perpetuate their gambling activities?

And perhaps this influence Chinese to be gambling as I have observed in our physical casinos that most of the players there are Chinese?

Perhaps another Chinese proverbs that I search upon, The Chinese Proverb of 'Sai Weng Lost His Horse'

Quote
The Meaning of Sāi Wēng Shī Mǎ
The proverb can be read to have multiple implications when it comes to the concept of luck and fortune. The end of the story seems to suggest that every misfortune comes with a silver lining, or as we might put it in English—a blessing in disguise. But within the story is also the sense that with what at first appears to be good luck can come misfortune. Given its dual meaning, this proverb is commonly said when bad luck turns to good or when good luck turns to bad.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VPN - Differences between countries where gambling is legal and not on: February 01, 2024, 01:52:58 AM
VPN is something that is popular and widely used, including for gambling. Regardless of privacy issues or access to sites that are prohibited in a country. Regardless of whether a casino's policy allows the use of vpn or not, are there any differences in protection for gamblers when they come from countries where gambling is legal?

Such as protection for gamblers who are cheated by casinos because their games are considered suspicious or because their accounts are blocked unilaterally by the casino. If yes, how do report it? if there isn't then there is no difference between countries that legalize gambling and those that don't

Maybe you can report it to 3rd party mediator? I don't think that countries where they originated will go after this online casinos that might "cheated" us. It all boils down as to the risk of using VPN or not.

They might go to the resort of asking you for KYC, and if everything is not adding up like the location then casinos will go for that account locked and your funds confiscated. And we have seen those cases a lot in the Scam accusations board.
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 31, 2024, 12:24:31 PM
I think it's no secret that boxing is one sports when corruption is prevalent, and I think boxing fans here would agree that one of the most corrupt is WBC under the Sulaiman's. They have been in control of this organization for years and not have enforce the so called mandatory and they allow their champion to call the shots. Canelo several years ago in the WBC convention says that he wants to go to CW and challenge  Ilunga Makabu and they voted unanimously.

But the fight didn't happen as he might think that it is too much weight for him although the fight is going to be on a catchweight. But then again, he lost to Bivol already and now going back to his comfortable weight class and looking to continue to dominant but I don't think that he is willing to fight Mexicans in this division, Benavidez adn Munguia.

It is being speculated that Canelo’s next fight will be against Jermall Charlo. The only reason why Charlo is still even considered a viable opponent is because the WBC have refused to strip his belt which he hasn’t defended in well over two years.

Then there are Oscar Valdez, Connor Benn, and Alycia Baumgardner who failed doping tests but were given a free pass by the WBC because they used lame excuses where they blamed contaminated tea and contaminated eggs.

I remember Canelo as well giving a free pass when he was caught with Clen on his system (if I'm not mistaken), so same reason, Mexican cows or beef are laden with Clen and obviously contaminated already. And so when he eats those beef, he got it into this system.

So the original Charlo that he should fight in the first place will be his next opponent. So less risk bigger reward is what Canelo is going after and not those big risk like Bivol or Benavidez. So they are taking it slowly already, and it means that Canelo is no longer in his prime or maybe on the sunset already for choosing lesser opponents.
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: stop the unnecessary blame on gambling whenever you get unlucky on: January 31, 2024, 10:33:04 AM
And it's a bad sign of gamblers upon losing, are blaming everyone if they are unlucky, it could be on how they cope. But still we should be man enough to admit to ourselves that there's no one to blame here but ourselves on the bad consequences.

So we have to think again if we have to gamble the next time. That if we losses, we should exit the screen, or if we a playing online, go home empty pocket but then just be quiet and plan our next move. Maybe to play again or just simply stop for the time being.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The scam of FAKE fixed matches on: January 31, 2024, 09:49:25 AM
Although this kind of scam scheme is very obvious for user like us that is active on gambling and knew what’s the reputable casino available but there’s really some users that is too naive to distinguish scam casino because they usually prioritize on what’s the potential they can gain over the risk of what they are entering.

Surely an offer you can only bet a specific fixed match on a certain casino only will make newbie deposit on it to try just like the screenshot for the review. It’s nice to compile all the existing and new kind of scam scheme to newbie fof their reference in case they encounter similar on social media.

Spreading the word about these scammy tricks in the gambling scene is important. Newbies might not see the signs so having a heads-up on the common scams could save them from a bad bet. This forum keeps each other informed and steer clear of those shady setups

Yes, but if people will just used their common sense, regardless if you are a newbie or have experienced in gambling already, you shouldn't fall for this kind of tricks. And we all know that there are thousands of it in the internet, but the sad news is that people are blinded by greed, and in the end, all they can do is weep and regrets what they have done, specially if the money that they gamble is to be used for something else.

So let see this a lesson for everyone here.
450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: January 31, 2024, 03:10:37 AM
Great game between the Bulls and the Raptors. Bulls take a good lead for much of the game. But the Raptors came back in the last quarter and leading. They have played a great defense specially against DeRozan, they doubling teaming him with big guys so DeRozan will have to pass.

It could be another hard breaking lost for the Bulls, they can't keep those lead while allowing their opponents to score easy basket. Zach Lavine didn't play though, but it seems that he will be traded before the deadline in February.
451  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price: $35K or $45K next? on: January 31, 2024, 01:53:56 AM
Bitcoin will be retesting $45k in the coming days. $42k is the crucial support zone for BTC. If this support breaks, the BTC price will go towards $35k or below. I am looking to buy some in the $33k to $38k range. With the new BTC address on the rise, I think more investors have been buying the recent BTC dip. If BTC follows past trends, we will have 1.5 years of bullish activity.

We are still in the support zone for now, and it seems going to hold that $42k line. We also have to understand that it's the end of the month, so maybe there are some who sell because they needed to pay some bills.

Nevertheless, looking strong going into February, and yes, I don't think that we will break apart again, and on the contrary we might see some runs at $45k in the first two weeks of the new month. And if it falls then another great opportunity to rebuy, easy as that.
452  Economy / Speculation / Re: 112 days waiting for bitcoin halving!! on: January 30, 2024, 02:05:07 PM
Looks like 1 long year has passed, and we said goodbye to 2023 and entered the new year 2024. We are only waiting for 2024 for Bitcoin because this year is going to be one of the best year for Bitcoin. Where the block reward of Bitcoin will decrease from BTC6.25 to BTC3.125 and at that time we will see more demand for Bitcoin, and expect a gradual change in the Bitcoin market.
As Bitcoin halving is only 112 days away, we are looking forward to that time. All bitcoin investors only wait for bitcoin bull season. And the bull season usually starts after the halving as we know it, so I think there is a golden opportunity right now to just hodl Bitcoin.
All bitcoiners get ready to hodl your BTC success is waiting for you ahead.

Many investors have waited for years for the bull run to arrive so that they can all reap the benefits of their long-term investment and patience. Speculators believe that this year's bull run will reach a new all-time high by 2025. Many people see this year as the year of halving, with the hope that the price of bitcoin will continue to rise until 2025, when many believe it will reach a new all-time high. As we wait for this grey day to arrive, the next step for bitcoin enthusiasts will be to collect more bitcoins to hold in their portfolios in order to stand a chance to win big at the bull run too.

Yes, many have waited for another bull run, but it's either they are going to continue to HODL and not sell yet in this bull run. Or there could be HOLDers who will immediately dump once we reach all time high or at least sell which they think could be the top price.

So it's either we are very excited or there are investors who think that this is just another year for them to accumulate despite if it is a bull run or not. That is the mentality that we wanted, as this early birds still have the patience years after years.
453  Other / Off-topic / Re: You can not win if you do not risk on: January 30, 2024, 12:09:00 PM
Good day guys, how is the gambling industry helping you this period?

Start of the year? just so-so, you win some, you lose some.

However I just want to say that in the game world gamblers are always there to bet and the important thing here is when a gambler can not risk he also can not win, true or false?

If gamblers cannot risk, then he should stop gambling for good. As gambling is base on luck and the willingness of you to take that big risk, specially if you are betting small and hitting like x10 or higher odds.

Many might still believe that a gamblers who's just gambling at the first day might end up winning w huge amount of money that he wasn't expecting but the truth is that as long as you stake on bet you have already risk your money, be it big or small.

That's what you call beginner's luck. And it might be bad to experience this one as you might want to replicate it and then you started losing game after game. And end up, losing the initial money that you have won + your capital and then you fall into being a gambling addict.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 30, 2024, 10:39:42 AM

Isn't it Munguia is now the mandatory for Canelo's WBO belt?

And so he should give him a chance or at least follow and fight his mandatory. But we all know that he can choose whatever fighter he wants to fight next, he has the leverage as he is the cash-cow. But we will see, as we have noted, all roads to Canelo, to from Munguia to David Benavidez, they are all looking for that huge pay check if they will or can get a fight next year, May or September, that's usually the month/date that Canelo fight.

I really don't know If he is the Mandatory fight for Canelo Alvarez but I just saw in the news that Jaime Munguia is eyeing to fight Canelo Alvarez while Alvarez is making excuses that he doesn't want to fight a Mexican,

And the leverage that Canelo holds in the boxing world allows him the freedom to choose his opponents strategically. While fans and fellow fighters like Munguia and David Benavidez eagerly seek the opportunity to face him, it's clear that the pursuit of a significant payday is a driving factor. The anticipation for potential matchups in May or September, Canelo's usual fighting months, adds an extra layer of excitement to the boxing landscape. The coming year holds the promise of high-stakes and high-profile fights, as fighters position themselves for a chance to step into the ring with the cash cow of boxing,

Yes, I do agree though, mandatories are not going to be enforce by this governing bodies, specially with Canelo's star power right now. He can choose who and where he is fighting and those bodies are just going to nod and say yes.

But in any case, it will be a good fight and maybe it could be the biggest for Canelo. Instead of fighting other names, it was reported that Munguia sold out the tickets in Phoenix more than what Benavidez can do in his own city.
455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 29, 2024, 10:18:58 AM
Munguia was able to get the TKO win against a fighter who went the distance with Canelo. If Canelo doesn't fight Benavidez, then Munguia seems like the next best option. Munguia is never in a boring fight so I am sure against Canelo it will be a slugfest. Munguia's porous defense is his biggest weakness and would probably be his downfall against Canelo. It is still a good matchup on paper with potential to be fight of the year.

However, you rightly point out Munguia's porous defense as a potential vulnerability against someone as skilled as Canelo. The clash of styles and the tactical aspects of the fight add an extra layer of anticipation. It could indeed be a fight with the potential for fireworks and, as you mentioned, a candidate for fight of the year. The boxing community will be eager to see how this potential matchup unfolds and whether Munguia can overcome his defensive challenges in a bout against a top-tier opponent like Canelo,

Munguia's TKO win is undoubtedly impressive, especially considering the opponent's resilience against Canelo. The prospect of a matchup between Munguia and Canelo does sound intriguing, given Munguia's penchant for engaging in thrilling and action-packed fights. The potential for a slugfest is high, making it an exciting prospect for boxing fans,

But Canelo might have to hide on his previous excuse of "not fighting another Mexican".  Grin

I would love to see Munguia vs Berlanga first though, As Canelo as his 3 fight deal with PBC, with 2 fights remaining, Benavidez could be the next or Morrell. But in case of Munguia him and Berlanga would be a rivalry if Canelo says no.

Berlanga will have a fight against Padraig McCrory in February 24th, and if he wins impressive, then Hearn and Oscar could sit down and this is a Mexican vs Puerto Rican, which has a storied rivalry in Boxing history.

It's intriguing to consider the potential matchups in the middleweight division, especially with Canelo's remaining fights in his PBC deal. The idea of Munguia vs. Berlanga is enticing, and the rivalry aspect, especially if Canelo opts out, adds an extra layer of anticipation. Berlanga's upcoming fight against Padraig McCrory could play a pivotal role in shaping the narrative, potentially leading to a significant clash between Mexican and Puerto Rican boxing traditions. Exciting times ahead in the middleweight landscape,

456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2 years old kids alone at home for hours, while the father goes gambling on: January 29, 2024, 04:58:28 AM
a father should be able to differentiate between what is a priority and what is not. he must understand that when he has children it means his responsibilities are much greater and ignoring these responsibilities will cause problems that could put him in a difficult position.

In the perfect world, this should be what the parents are doing, they take care of their children and guide them until they are old enough to make decision for themselves. But it seems for gamblers, as their decision is clouded, and they only have the illusion to play and to make money, they won't think a bit what is  their priority in life.

especially in this case, where a father abandons his child just to go gambling, this irresponsible action is not appropriate because it could result in harm to the child or other undesirable things. the father was not suitable to be considered a father, because he neglected his responsibilities and instead went gambling and did not think about his child's condition. and this kind of father is the most disgusting father.

I agree, this is the worst thing that you can do to your kid, abandoning them so that you can continue to gamble. He didn't even think of what could happen to his kids as he is in danger for being alone. This is a selfish act for any person and anyone here should do it just for the sake of gambling.
457  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Playing crypto for many years without holding Bitcoin. on: January 27, 2024, 06:27:59 PM
But he doesn't hold any Bitcoin.

The sister graduates without even enrolling.

The experienced crypto guy with years of learning still hasn't graduated.

He always tells himself the familiar phrase, "Wait for the right time..."

And the sister? She doesn't talk much; she just bought 1 BTC. Let those guys' bodies lie where they fall.

Don't be like that young guy...

The only thing that I see from this guy is maybe he is anti-bitcoin per se, that's why he doesn't buy and HODL it simply as that. Because if he has relearn from the moment he invested his money and time, then he should know by now what is the right crypto to invest.

Or maybe not wait for the right time mantra, but instead, he thinks that he can invest on shitcoins and meme coins and turn him into millionaire, in short get rich quick scheme. Maybe we have heard that already, but I don't think it's for everyone to really become a instant rich just because they chooses shitcoins ove bitcoin.
458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where may we likely see BTC post halving? on: January 27, 2024, 05:51:37 PM
The BTC ETF approval couldn't spur a major price action as expected by many and the only expected important event that could define the the long awaited bull run would be halving but question is how long does it take for halving to impact price and are we in that period called "last buying chance before bull run?"

No one can tell, it could be weeks or months. Doesn't really matter though, it will eventually come. The thing is that the accumulation phase could have been done maybe in the last year or so. At least you have save during that time when the price is below <$40k.

However, there is a speculation that the price could go as high as $180k. So if you can invest as this time, maybe you can still profit. It might not be as huge though, but still if there is profit to be made then that might be good already.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Casimero (possible fight in 2024) Let's discuss! on: January 27, 2024, 05:38:23 PM

As for Arum's businesses, he would rather see Inoue keep winning as he can make money picking fighters of his choice. Since he already unified the 122 division, there is no reason for him to stay but he considers defending. There are so many fighters in the featherweight where he could make money too.

This is why I'm not too fond of Arum being Inoue's promoter he likes to cherry pick fight for fighters he managed like what happened to Crawford he badly wants Spence but Arum is overprotective of Crawford and he doesn't believe that he could beat Spence

The fight happens but they wanna make sure they can make money. Does Casimero going back to MP promotion make the fight possible?

Or will they have to wait up to 5-6 years til Casim is 40 yo before giving him the heads up? It's all their game when they want to make money. If they can't make money from the Casim vs Inoue fight because it's risky, then it's just going to be the waiting game til Casim isn't in his prime.

There is no news that he will go back to MP Promotions Casimero doesn't want to let go of his brother as his trainer even if his brother is getting a lot of negative feedback about the way he manages Casimero, and Casimero is too proud and has a lot pride he wants the MP Promotions to beg him to return, but I don't think the promotions will do that, its Casimero who needs MP promotions.

If the fight will not push this year, Casimero better forgets the Inoue fight, it's his chance to make a lot of money he's the one who blew his chance, while Inoue is doing great on his path to greatness.

Right, we will not find any news of him going back to MP for sure, as he is already managed by a Japanese promoter. Of course, he will not let go of his brother as his trainer and that he is very proud of himself, as he is known to be that even inside the ring.

I think in this coming year, if he hasn't had his chance then he should look for any opponents or at least forget Inoue for the meantime. He is already great himself and being proud to be a former champion from the Philippines. Maybe if he forget about Inoue, his career will take a turn for good and who knows, and he become a mandatory champion for any of the belt that Inoue has.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rolando Romero-Isaac Cruz to meet on March 30 in Las Vegas. on: January 27, 2024, 10:12:58 AM
Rolly is in trouble again, Pitball Cruz is so hard to tame he will have to work double time to tame the Pitbull considering that his last fight against Barroso was not that good he almost lost this fight and Barosso is an aging fighter, Rolly Romero should upgrade his defense, Cruz is the kind of fighter that will throw everything but the kitchen sink.
Romero should have accepted the Garcia fight, he could have made a lot of money from that fight I'm not saying that Isaac Cruz is better than Ryan Garcia but Romero's style is very much suited for the Pitbull, Pitbull loves opponents that keep moving forward, and Romero will be in trouble if he is not careful on how he deal with Pitbull he is one merciless Pitbull.

Agreed. It might also have been very good for the fans if Ryan Garcia would fight Isaac Cruz. Pitbull likes to move forward and King Ry has a powerful counter left hook which is a very perfect weapon for the style of his opponent.

Anyone will be a perfect style for Ryan, both Romero and Cruz are aggressive and Ryan can counter all day with his left hook when they go inside on him. But as others have said, in-house fight, and so Ryan can move to fight Ramirez as well, same idea, all in-house fight for Oscar. And maybe the winner can then go fight the winner of this fight.

However, on Romero vs. Cruz, it appears those who voted certainly know that Pitbull will be a more favored fighter by the oddsmakers hehe. I also disagree with you. Isaac Cruz does not throw everything but the kitchen sink. He will throw everything and the kitchen sink hehehehee.

He just throw with bad intention, and so if he caught you, might be a knockout. But remember when Davis fought Isaac, he broke his right hand and he says that Isaac is very difficult to knockout because of his stature and movement.
