441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | DarkSend+ Is Live! on: August 14, 2014, 08:48:39 PM
What problems, really? From all that I have seen most of the problems were caused by (inexperienced ?) users, like not mastering basic wallet.dat/private keys knowledge, or even by previously existing computer failures, and were solved by simply re-downloading blockchain for example. Such problems happed daily in each and every other cryptocoin, BTC included.

Have I missed something?

Congratulations to the community for the support given to the less experienced users, and to the Dev team for such hard work. It's a work being done live and we are all participating, it requires hard work and the results will not simply rain down for us.

There have been small problems (see here), but the core tech is solid and exciting. Anyone calling it a failure is just trolling to cause dumping into their bids.

False. the core tech is a dangerously insecure bastardization of the bitcoin protocol. end of story

You dumbass chinks will do anything to weasel money from a dumbass mark. now you are doing website where you "face verify" the devs. thats just hilarious. Scamming ass chinks.

PS: to all non scamming asians my sincerest apologies. You can attribrute this unfair generalization(racial slur) to your scamming brethren, and whip their asses for disgracing race/country!

well its 5 steps better than having a dev anonymous

No its not. I used my resources and the person listed on the website is not a real person, just an alias.
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BCN] Bytecoin. Major update NOW! on: August 14, 2014, 08:46:07 PM
So what are the advantages of multi signatures besides the obvious, like transparency, scam protection and easier transactions?

It has glittery design and you hear celestial songs every time you make a trasaction.

But, seriously, what the hell do you need? Multi-signatures is a new revolutionary technology, it was discovered a short time ago and Bytecoin already implemented it! Keeps your money safe and sound.  Isnt it enough?

You dumb fuck, Multi-Sig was invented a long ass time ago by bitcoin. idiot. It just isn't available in the GUI
444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi was assassinated by The Bitcoin Foundation? New evidence coming in on: August 14, 2014, 08:38:02 PM
cryptopaths, lost your mind? you had something's potential as to be a wise user, while investigating potential crimes you were admirable extraction of facts and spotting liars, this was true. This I was confused by your current actions, the disgrace of family name, seemingly for only attention.  (i'm getting good at my fake Google Translate huh?)

You know, if theymos doesn't reply to this thread, there are alternative methods for getting his attention. Perhaps its time to re examine the supposed security fixes on the trust page.

How can you seriously think that "re-examining" security issues (sounds like you're suggesting to exploit them) would be a good way to convince theymos that you are trustworthy enough to be made a staff member?

I hadn't saw that he had replied here already.  That comment was innapropriate and i should not made it, so i apologize. Really, i'm just fired up about this whole situation that went down in Ferguson, MO, and vented that frustration in my post.

I'm a bit sad i was left off the voting list. I'm just too stupid to even be considered i guess

I don't mean to ruffle no feathers, but you clearly weren't around to see Vlad2Vlad post on this forum. he puts ole Spoetnik to shame

I was definitely around to see you steal about 40 btc when your exchange was "hacked" though.

That isn't true

LOL? What part of that isn't true. Please elaborate.

You said i stole 40 btc, and I didn't.

What happened to the btc "lost" in your exchange then?

Dig up the openex thread and read it. The original discrepancy was between the amount in the cold storage wallet and the amount shown when summing the balance table in the database. It was around 36 or 38 btc. Eventually i went through the database and found all of the malicious tx's, joining them by user and setting their balances to zero, arrived at the conclusion that the hacker was just performing sql injections of balances, then trying to sneak the withdrawals by the admins, which he was somewhat successful in doing. there's about a 1.5 btc discrepancy, plus some missing litecoins. I still have copies of the database and a backup of the server. I'm not sure how long it will take, but eventually i will be able to pay back all the users. additionally, i have to square up with the people who bought shares in the exchange. All told, its about 8 - 9 btc i think that i have assumed responsibility for. This will be last reply to you on this matter.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Re: Just-Dice.com : now with added CLAMs : Play or Invest on: August 14, 2014, 04:48:10 AM
Well when you're running some type of shady scheme, it's kind of an expected reaction isn't it? it would be totally different if you weren't guaranteeing profit. If you implicitly stated the risks and such, it would be different. I agree with Dooglus giving you the negative trust. If you were deleting his posts, he has a right to open a scam accusation and leave negative trust. That's how it works around here.

451  Economy / Speculation / Re: The only reason Bitcoin is more valuable then other altcoins on: August 14, 2014, 01:52:30 AM

And that was all made possible because bitcoin had first mover advantage, use your head man.

It's called innovation and sooner or later an altcoin is going to make it big on innovation because bitcoin is to scared to. Some altcoins have already seen very good success, Bitcoin could increase it's worth past the point that it's already at if it just accepted this.

after 3 years of litecoin and 2 years of lots of altcoins, all i see is pump and dump coins that last 3-6 months, and a bunch of dice games.

I think your purposefully turning a blind eye to the innovation happening with altcoins.

I think he is turning an insightful eye towards the fact that most of these "innovations" are mere headlines designed to attract the attention of the easy marks.  It really is like san franscisco in 1849.  There were a few dudes who hit gold and made good money in 1848.  By the time 1849 rolled around, the scene was full of vultures and speculators and theives and the only ones making money were the ones selling picks and shovels.

You can call this the "first mover" advantage if you want.  But none of these altcoins have a large enough community to matter.  In fact, if you say btc is slow to innovate the protocol consider the fact that the bitcoin community is large enough that any changes have to be resonably consider and carefully considered because there is a lot of work that has been done and no one wants to screw that up because of an ill-thought out idea which seemed like an "improvement" untill it was realized that it wasn't one all too late.

I am not Dorian Nakamoto.

Wasn't that debunked already? I believe it was alleged that someone else had access to satoshi's account on that website
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin Giveaway! on: August 14, 2014, 01:39:57 AM
Giveaway threads are not allowed on this forum.

I had no idea there was such a thing as a "Legendary" account level here. I thought the highest you could go was "hero member".

Its a new thing the admins did a week or two ago.

I think the majority of the coins that have some level of value have value because of speculators.
This.

458  Economy / Speculation / Re: The only reason Bitcoin is more valuable then other altcoins on: August 12, 2014, 09:14:58 PM
The only reason Bitcoin is more valuable then other altcoins is first mover advantage. It's the truth if you compare bitcoin to a lot of alt coins on the technical side Bitcoin is lacking heavily. If the Protocol was updated to do something more like a lot of altcoins do I feel this is what would truly make the Bitcoin price sky rocket.

That's one opinion. Another opinion might be that the these supposedly "superior" or "innovative" altcoins are in fact dangerously insecure bastardizations of the bitcoin protocol.
