Likey but there is another scenario for Ind vs SL final if...

- India wins 4-0 against Aus
- SL wins 1-0 or 2-0 against Kiwis
- Windies wins against SA
All three scenarios seem unlikely. In the first case, I am expecting India to win(2-1) while the remaining match will end as a draw. In the second case, I am expecting Sri Lanka and Kiwis to win one match each.

In the third case, I am expecting South Africa to win against Windies. These are my random predictions basically.
Yeah, i like to believe the same as you and teosanru but cricket is a funny game so i am open to everything.

It would be very disappointing if we get to see any draw in this series. Both teams are good and i think there won't be dud pitches in the next matches. Having said that if a draw comes on the difficult pitch then i am up for it because it requires an A game from both teams, which would be a treat to watch.

Skipper Rohit mentioned something really interesting after the match, he basically said that these guys put a lot of pressure on him regarding who should bowl first and from what end as they are too good and want to touch milestones as quickly as possible lol. Tells you a lot about how competitive this duo is and still very good friends.

I thought captaincy is difficult only under losing conditions after this statement of Rohit I realise how difficult it is in winning conditions as well. You have to make sure you don't lose your shit while you are been presussred by your teammates and also have to make sure all the team mates are happy with your decisions because eventually their performance is going to be dependent on that.

This is the video, in Hindi but too funny haha

Venkatesh Prasad is not happy with KL Rahul

Found it on Twitter yesterday and I thought of sharing it here.

In my opinion, he is correct and none of the veterans are questioning this guy's ability to bat on any format. His selection is purely based on favoritism and not performance. What do you guys think?
He's spot on with everything and the only sane voice in former cricketers, he's also against the star culture in Indian cricket and recently he applied for the selection committee but got rejected as he's not a Yes Man.
I don't completely agree with him. I know in Test he has been given a lot of chances but that was more because India was trying to find a suitable replacement for KL Rahul and it was quite late till Rishab Pant fit that spot in Tests. Coming to other formats in ODIs he has a good average of 44. Which is actually a good average considering he even bats at number 5 and opens some times. But yes lately his performance has not been as consistent as one would expect from a vice captain or an experienced players but generally he has played one or two match winning innings. I don't favour KL Rahul's selection but I see what current selectors might want from him and I remember once Rohit Sharma too was given these many chances after which he got his re incarnation and trust me Shubhman Gill is the next person who is going to get this favouritism.
442  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 11, 2023, 07:17:12 PM
I stumbled upon this interesting tweet days ago.

https://twitter.com/SchrodingrsBrat/status/1622320014215856128?cxt=HHwWgIC-9aPd0YMtAAAA

Many of the comments are equally interesting. They apply the idea to all kinds of things including the game Resident Evil. And then I thought perhaps this is also true in the economic aspect of life. Perhaps this aptly applies to those whose economic lives are like the desert and whose little money they have they keep tightly for the hardest of days.

When I was studying in the university far from family and relatives or even family friends, I had a difficult time. Money is extremely scarce. Early mornings are usually for hot drinks-- coffee, chocolate, milk, tea, or whatever. I realized that what made those drinks important is that they are hot. So I learned to drink only a hot cup of water which I could easily ask for free from the eatery in front of where I stayed.

Come meal time, I would also request that the serving be made in half. That's to save money. But I had the money. I always made sure I have some. Emergencies and unforeseen expenses may arise anytime. So I need to have money all the time, but I won't touch it. Ironically, it also gave me hunger, inconvenience, discomfort at times.

My story is rather uninteresting, but let me know yours. Does this idea also apply to you? You could have the money to buy a new car to replace your old and broken one but you prefer not to touch it. Do you hold yourself from spending what you have to the point of depriving yourself of what you deserve? Do you keep significant savings for occasions that might only happen in your imagination? Or at what point would you allow yourself to be drained of your last penny?
A very interesting tweet. And honestly a lot of people atleast in my country have this mentality, they would not dare to touch a specific set of savings that they have no matter what happens. They will always be stubborn on the fact that this in untouched savings and amount can only be added to it cannot be reduced from it. I feel one should have such a saving but it should be really like an emergency fund or with a specific purpose. Just keeping it for the sake of keeping it isn't sensible.
443  Local / India / Re: anybody sad that localbitcoins is shutting down? on: February 11, 2023, 06:52:36 PM
i am  Sad

i feel like this would be the end of bitcoin-trading for a lot of users around the world.

and i know that there are other p2p exchanges out there but mostly all of them all blood sucking monsters.

who only care collecting data for reselling and charging enormous fees for the smallest of trades.

this is not good for all crypto future.
Interesting news. P2P isn't bad for all the exchanges to be honest. Obviously collecting data is a usual thing done by almost every exchange but even WazirX was having a very good P2P system. Person could easily transfer money from UPI and you can transfer INR. Similar system was there for other exchanges as well. Most of them as far as I know don't even charge any fees for this service or generally it's just 0.1% like any trade fees.
444  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: In need of good trading teaching video link for beginner on: February 11, 2023, 06:40:35 PM
For like two days now I have been searching on YouTube watching videos about trading for beginners but it's like the ones I have come across are not giving me the basics of what I need to start up with as a pure beginner. Am still confused despite the countless number of videos on YouTube that pops up on each search.
So I thought it wise to come to the forum to seek for materials or links that could really be helpful basically for starters on crypto trading. Your assistance will particularly go a long way for me.

PS: I intend on locking up the post immediately I feel I have gotten sufficient helpful materials. Thanks in anticipation.
My assumption is you want to start with trading especially short term trading into crypto spots or futures. For this you have to learn Technical Analysis Also you want to learn very basics of trading like indicators, trading strategies & basic Psychology. I would suggest you a channel for this @RaynerTeo on YouTube he gives all basic lessons around candlesticks, indicators etc. Even on trading psychology as well so would be a great help.

MOST WICKETS IN TEST BY INDIAN

  • Ravichandran Ashwin - 451 - Ranked 2nd
  • Ravinder Jadeja - 246 - Ranked 8th
Skipper Rohit mentioned something really interesting after the match, he basically said that these guys put a lot of pressure on him regarding who should bowl first and from what end as they are too good and want to touch milestones as quickly as possible lol. Tells you a lot about how competitive this duo is and still very good friends.

I was not happy with the way KS Bharat did his keeping and batting in the first match. Do you guys think that Ishan Kishan would be now included in the second test match?

Nah he should stay and shouldn't be touched by anyone in absence of Pant, he's the superior WK batter on the turning track.

but I still feel that both these teams will make it to the WTC finals no matter what.
Likey but there is another scenario for Ind vs SL final if...

The scenario of Ind vs SL looks highly unlikely to me. Because Windies winning against SA looks highly unlikely to me.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 10, 2023, 09:51:58 PM
Considering his Test bowling average and the strike rate at which he picks wickets and his past performances, Ravindra Jadeja is a key player who will be having the same impact with the ball whenever he is playing in sub continent wickets and with the bat he has matured enough to continue giving performance up to his talent which was lacking in his initial years in his International career even though he has three triple centuries to his name in domestic circuit.
Ravindra Jadeja messing with Australia now with the bat and hopefully will score a big century along with Axar Patel and Australia will be battling to defend and spinners will be mowing and picking all the wickets in the coming days.
Ravindra Jadeja looks great with the bat and bowl. He took 5 wickets against Australia and able to fall down their batting. A good innings by Rohit Sharma took India team in a better position but after he lost his wicket the rest of the wickets failed. From that position, Ravindra Jadeja was able to bring the team back to a reliable position again. He remains unbeaten on 66 runs. His impressive batting and bowling performances have given a fresh message to the the Indian Cricket Board that he is still alive and worthy to play test cricket.
In Nagpur, we had an eventful day. Ravindra Jadeja followed Rohit Sharma's lead which gave India a dominating edge against Australia in the first innings. In the aftermath of brilliant bowling, Jadeja remains unbeaten at 66 runs. Day 2 ended with India leading by 144 runs despite a collapse in their top order. Axar and Jadeja have played sensational cricket so far and have usually saved the Indian batting order. Congratulations to Jadeja for his best all-around performance. The Aussie's second innings response will be decided tomorrow.

Ravindra Jadeja is doing well with the bat also. But what I want to point out is that I thought this was going to be a track for the spinners. Which it is. But I was actually a little surprised to say that Nathan Lyon was unable to perform well. The youngster from Australia Todd Murphy is the one who picked up five wickets for Australia. And I think if he had a little help from others, Australia could have done better. But now it feels like the match is absolutely getting out of hand from Australia. Things do not feel good for Australia right now.

There is a righteous reason why people call him "Sir" Jadeja, he is never counted in one of the best batsmen or bowler of Indian cricket yet he is always the right fit that India needs in any situation and any format. Him missing from the team is in itself a big blow, players like him are match winners who can steal the win from opponent's pockets when you want them to. I see Axar is also becoming a lot like him which is really required for future of Indian cricket right now.
447  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People will choose bitcoins more if the number of cryptocurrency option is less. on: February 10, 2023, 09:48:33 PM
I felt like seeing a movie and opened my streaming app (Netflix) to make a selection of a movie to see and I became confused which to select because of the many choices that I saw. I immediately had this thought that it is the same way people who have the interest of investing in cryptocurrency become confused the one to invest in when they find out that there is bitcoin and many other altcoins. Many people become confused and make mistakes because of the many options they have in cryptocurrency, they fail to invest in bitcoins because they think that there are many other very good options. Do you agree that more people will choose to invest in bitcoins if there were not so many cryptocurrency choices although not all are good?
I think people will always tend to choose the one which will give them more returns. After spending certain amount of time in the market everyone comes to know that market is highly risky compared to any other market so there opinion becomes that if we are already taking the risk take it at the maximum level which is why they go into altcoins and obviously if options are less people will always choose bitcoin but it'll even make the rest of remaining ones more credible as well.
448  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading addiction, are you coping? on: February 10, 2023, 09:28:11 PM
I read a news yesterday about a Spanish rehab center that is called 'The Balance', a Switzerland-founded wellness center, located in Spain. The Rehab center helps in treating of alcohol, drugs and behavioral health addictions. Recently it is adding trading addiction to its list and I was surprised to see that. You can read more about it:

The rehabilitation center cited estimates that about 1% of cryptocurrency traders will develop an "extreme" addiction to crypto trading.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/spanish-rehab-center-adds-crypto-trading-addiction-to-services-list

I think it would be perfect to bring this trading discussion. Are you addicted to trading? I am thinking that making profit from trading or making losses, there is a chance that some traders are addicted to trading. What are you doing naturally to stay away from trading addiction?
This is actually a thing and it's very bad habit. Stock trading habit isn't that bad because there are fixed hours and apart from those hours you can go to your den peacefully without even thinking about the market but same isn't the case with Cryptos as the market is 24 X 7 your mind will always be consumed in the thoughts of crypto prices and worse you'll always keep on checking prices of various currencies every minute. I once used to be stuck in such a phase but I automatically got out of it as well.
449  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving is Wasting? on: February 10, 2023, 09:25:40 PM
Being a student is so hard nowadays. I've been spending a lot for school requirements and different activities related to education. I'm stuck with this saying "SAVING IS WASTING", thinking that with the little amount of money I have, should I put it on an investment or should I just save it for my future expenses or emergencies. I'm also living in a country in which there are limited side hustles I could do to earn extra for investment, so I'm troubled somehow.
I understand the problem you are facing and it's pretty common with students especially the ones who living by their own without any support from their parents. I can only say you one thing. Don't believe in this foolish theory and have some patience. Things will surely get better very soon and you will become affluent very soon. I believe it's just a matter of time that you are stuck in this situation you'll be out of this once you get a job.
450  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why I will never trust top exchanges on: February 09, 2023, 07:02:59 PM
Weeks ago Binance admits to the mistake of storing users funds in a collateral wallet, is this not why they passed the Reserve Audit?🤦 All they have to do is just move crypto assets that belongs to exchange users into their collateral wallet and pass the audit and avoid getting caught. Then they go on Twitter and make a tweet that "Funds are Safu".

https://dailyhodl.com/2023/01/24/binance-admits-to-mistake-of-storing-its-users-crypto-assets-inside-collateral-wallet-report/

I believe the came out in the open before someone else does, to keep their reputation in checked.

As for the auditors, they don't even know how to audit in the first place, or is it right to say that exchanges just know how to get smarter than auditors?

Anyway, it's easier for them to meddle with users funds and do what they feel like, FTX Sam was caught doesn't mean he is the only bad actor, others aren't pure as well.

No matter what you plan to do on centralised exchanges, do not trust them.
I think there has to be an independent body of Auditors who specifically specialise in the audit of crypto exchanges they should have the necessary expertise and should do audit in regular intervals so it's not easy for the exchanges to fool them as well. But obviously such a thing is hard to be implemented in a decentralised society especially when it's against an exchange like Binance.
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will lead the world currency market?? on: February 09, 2023, 06:56:14 PM
US dollar is the world accepted currency and can be used as a medium of exchange.  In the crypto world, Bitcoin is the most popular and the highest accepted currency with greater value. Different countries have permitted bitcoin for transaction and many of them are thinking so and will eventually do so. Its acceptance is gradually increasing day by day. Do you think bitcoin will be the leader of the world’s currency market like US dollar in the future?Huh
I don't think what you are saying will happen. I have discussed it so many times. Bitcoin has inherent problem which is it's huge volatility so whenever a government decides to keep bitcoin in reserve it's taking a huge foreign exchange risk which it has to hedge unnecessarily so unless it becomes the local currency of that area too it makes no sense to do foreign trades in this currency which is why it'll never become world currency.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 09, 2023, 06:37:27 PM
Never expected Australia to produce such a dismal performance in the 1st innings. India will comfortably win this one at this rate.

Well, Sir jadeja and Ash Anna are cheat codes in India, I've said this countless times and Axar Patel is an addition.

Yeah he was replacement of Jaddu but he cemented his spot in the team cause of his performance, his batting is big plus.
In the test format, Jadeja and Ashwin are like the Durant-Curry combo. They know each other so well that they mesmerise the audience with their varying tactics which have aged like fine wine.

I feel that Axar and Sundar could produce a similar combo in the test format as long as they are given enough chances to prove their respective abilities with both the bat and the ball.
I think Ashwin is Ashwin because his never giving up attitude, he always try to come with new things, whether it's his action, or his delivery stride or his turn. He always loves to try new things which is why he is still one of the greatest spinners as even after batsmen had studied him so much he still brings in something new. You have to do such a thing if you are not one of the best Turners of the ball. Jadeja on the other hand is consistent with everything. He balls in right area with a plan. Let's see if this combo is able to maintain it's charm for such a long period of time.
453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future of CEX and no privacy world, will you still become an anonymous? on: February 05, 2023, 05:47:51 PM
I think CEX is a requirement for exchanging your tokens no matter how much you advocate privacy and decentralisation if it comes to exchanging your coins to some other tokens or some other Cryptocurrency, CEX is obviously the best, cheapest and safest option as well to do it. I know it comes at the cost of KYC but I think I am ready to do that as long as this ensures exchange also is regulated. Especially after the case of FTX, exchange has to be squeaky clean in every aspect.
454  Economy / Economics / Re: Is taking a loan/debt addicted ? on: February 05, 2023, 03:33:35 PM
Well, I have to clarify that personally I have never had any loan or debt in my life so this thread has nothing to do with my experience but intends to find out how people in loan/debt deal with the problem. Let's say you take loans from a bank and sometimes for whatever reason, you can not pay the debt on time, then you borrow money from other channels. Sure this works for a certain period but later bad things may happen, you have to postpone the payment and struggle with finances again. Isn't this a vicious circle ? How would you deal with the problem ? I am all ears.
Obviously taking debt to repay debt can be called as a vicious circle especially if the loan you took was for personal purposes not related to construction/ creation of an asset or if your non payment is due to your excess expenses not due to some urgency coming up. I think in such a cases it's a vicious circle but if you genuinely didn't had money that month because of some urgency and had to repay the debt using a loan the. Obviously it isn't a vicious circle we are humans and we do face emergencies.
455  Economy / Economics / Re: Monthly or weekly pay? Fixed or percentage earning? what is your prefrence. on: February 05, 2023, 02:54:28 PM
There are two categories of people when it comes to the choice of when to receive payment for work. There is the category that prefers it be paid weekly so they can off set bills as they come so they do not become a burden, while there is the category that prefers it monthly so they can plan well for the month.

If employers put out the option before you to either to be paid weekly or monthly for your job, which will you prefer? Please give reasons asides the ones I have stated to support your answer.

Would you prefer to be a contract staff for a company that is being paid a certain percentage for every job delivered, or would you prefer a job with a fixed monthly or weekly income? (Give a reason for your answer aside the reason that will be stated)

With percentage earnings, you can earn more and you will be very motivated to work, but the disadvantage will be when there is no job.
With Fixed earnings, you are sure of what to receive, but sometimes the workload you may encounter may be so much that the salary you are paid does not befit the work you put in.

I'll try to answer it one by one. First talking about weekly or monthly earnings. I believe monthly is much better because if I get weekly earnings my spendings will be drastically more as I'll be spending heavily every weekend especially if I get my salary on a Saturday so definitely monthly earning help you to accumulate your earning rather than you over spending everything.
Coming to second question percentage or fixed, i think in every job it's really difficult to have a percentage earning model. So only a few jobs can have that but honestly it's risky but equally advantageous as well because in good times you'll be earning better but i have been  a financial analyst i know if there is more percentage based earnings there will be more accounting frauds.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 05, 2023, 02:19:26 PM
India are obliterating NZ at the moment. For a second, I actually thought that this was a T-10 or something. Gill along with Pandya, Sky and Tripathi set India with a monster total while Singh and Pandya are eliminating the NZ batsmen like dominoes.
This match is over people. India whacked NZ out of the series and into space in the 3rd match.
I think it's pretty evident now that Gill is the next big thing for India in cricket, we have got the number 1 choice of opener with Rohit Sharma, probably Ishan Kishan can fill the position once Rohit retires. I am just hoping gill performs similarly in test cricket as well because if he does one can say he is the next Indian prodigy. But I will be much more confident about him once he scores with similar potential on foreign pitches as well. Also this clearly shows that how he can change gears while he is batting.
Kishan won't get many chances in the national team due to his performances and rightly so.
The jury is still out on Gill as far as T-20 is concerned (he already proved himself in other formats), he played beautifully today but it's pretty rare if we look at his T-20 (including IPL) PP's record, he's one of the worst openers in Indian T-20 history, along with KL Rahul.
I know he won't but so far he has proved his worth almost every time and after Gill has turned into a prodigy, selectors would be trying hard to find the second opener and I don't see a better option than him right now. Obviously many young guns might still come but he is currently the best bet for sure, as you said even better than Gill if we go by stats. The problem or maybe you can say the good thing with Indian selection team is they bet on heroes, they tried to make KL Rahul one until he made a fool of himself but they have been giving him so many chances even till now, they gave it to Sky he has proved his worth, now their next bet for a hero is Gill so he is going to get a lot of chances now.

I don't agree that India doesn't have a decent opener. India has a lot of talented players. Every season in IPL we see talented Indian openers. But the problem is that no player is consistently playing well in the national team. Maybe it is due to a lack of experience. India should give a certain player a chance in the national team for a longer period. Then maybe India can get a stable opening pair. I don't see any other way. Constantly changing the opener affects the whole team badly.
What I meant to say is that there is no dependent obvious choice opener like Rohit Sharma is in India right now. Obviously there are lot of openers that India has every season you see new openers cinh up even Rishab pant and KL Rahul can come as openers but what I meant was a dependeable obvious choice opener and GIll could probably become that good to be the obvious choice of everyone.

458  Local / India / Re: India Reveals IMF Is Working With G-20 for Crypto Regulations on: February 04, 2023, 06:58:35 PM
To be fair this is the only way how these governments can atleast try to regulate all Cryptocurrencies otherwise there is no chance they will ever be able to touch the space. And all the governments desperately want to regulate crypto space. I won't be surprised to see if they bring in some sort of shadow bans or atleast mandatory registration and regulations for exchanges and other crypto companies. They desperately want to track the incomes made by people in this as well.
459  Economy / Economics / Re: How to thrive with low income in a humble area - part 2 on: February 04, 2023, 06:52:27 PM
This looked too much like a basic, how to make money or how to survive thread 101. Reason being in a humble area with low income it'll be impossible for you to "import" anything into the country. Such things are only possible for people who are ordering in bulk and selling. The best thing that can be done is to play the wholesale to retail channel for food, but obviously that would require a complete full time attention so it's something you'll have to do full time, so it's good only if you don't have any other job.
460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Big money bad for bitcoin in the long run on: February 04, 2023, 06:46:56 PM
As bitcoin continues on its current bullish path, all kinds of people are trying to ride this wave by buying any cheap coins they can get their hands on as they anticipate the next High to come. But the scary part about this is that Big money is also flowing into the crypto economy that will push price to easily register new highs, but this comes at a price, when these whales decide to take out their money.. markets bleed red which is why Big money is not good if volatility is to be controlled. In the long run Bitcoin is better off without the Big money, otherwise this becomes like a pyramid scheme always leaving the last man standing with empty pockets as the first guy to make a move gets all the accumulated $$$$.

What's the community's take on this?
No matter how much we curse the big money, but the truth is there is no market without big money. Even stock markets have high volumes of big money in form of FII and other institutional investors, in bitcoin these are generally termed as whales. In bitcoin this is much more controlled by the whales as the market is too cyclic right now but as more and more retail accumulation will kick in things will surely get better somewhat like the stock market only.
