442  Economy / Speculation / Re: MAJOR NEWS. BANK ACCOUNTS OFFICIALLY BANNED ON APRIL 15 (BTCTRADE) on: April 10, 2014, 03:19:56 AM
only idiots are surprised. This has already been known for some times. Bitcoin doesnt need China or Russia or North Korea...

Please use some common sense ppl.

Bur they need us... Also it never hurt to have China one of the biggest economic superpowers, supporting bitcoin. Lets just see what happens on the 15th now, maybe panic sell on the 14th?
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins aren't shit coins? on: April 10, 2014, 03:17:18 AM
See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563790

If you launched a coin and were serious about its success, wouldn't you be listed in that group?

Is good resource, but IMO the coins that aren't shit are basically the top 40 market cap wise disregarding massive premined coins.
444  Economy / Speculation / Re: IT'S THE END! MAJOR NEWS. BANK ACCOUNTS OFFICIALLY BANNED. on: April 10, 2014, 03:12:45 AM

Yeah can't read Chinese... On phone so I can't copy and paste into translate :/
445  Economy / Speculation / Re: Since we started at zero, do you think its possible to go back to zero? on: April 10, 2014, 03:11:41 AM
Alright thanks for the tips! Buts he got the gold bug hard, don't think even logic will work at this point Grin
446  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to feel refreshed even after too little sleep - and why you MUST.... on: April 10, 2014, 03:09:07 AM
I read about this dude on reddit who had managed to get into a weird sleep cycle where he only needed to sleep 3-4x 1h per day to be fully rested and not feel a single negative whiplash from it.

It was something about first staying awake for around 48 hours, then only sleeping for a couple of hours the first time and after that only one hour every 6 hours.

He had managed to keep that up for 1 year, no consequences. Had a shitload of extra time to finish school and work at the same time.

I'd like having 20h/day awake time without consequences and never being tired.

Yeah 20 hours a day I could post more xD also 1 year?!?! Did he finally crash after that? So much could be done if sleep wasn't in the way!

We started mining ISR yesterday when it was at 0.00005200. It is now at 0.00061000 -- we have done exceptionally well with it, indeed Smiley And it doesn't look like the ISR ride is over yet.

If it becomes the next aurora (hits $90 or so) and I knew about it and I DIDNT mine it  Cry

Your friend doesn't understand basic economy. Bitcoin has value because it does things that existing financial systems can't.

Any examples I should particularly bring up?
449  Economy / Speculation / Re: Since we started at zero, do you think its possible to go back to zero? on: April 10, 2014, 02:47:11 AM
Been chatting with some IRL friends about bitcoin. This one guy, total gold bug btw, refuses to touch btc. I ask him, "why"? And he replies " gold can one day become a low value, I'll admit. But never zero, as it is physical, and has industrial uses, so if nothing else would be used by industries. Bitcoin on the other hand is digital, so has no "bottom line" per se". He has me stumped, and I like to win  Grin Any suggestions?

You like to win what? Theoretical battles that can't be proven? Please explain how you win one of those exactly?....

When the other person can't respond back logically, battle of ego Roll Eyes

In this thread one must alwys reply with a question or the entire purpose of the thread would be defated, would it not?

Do you mean defeated?

Typos abound and do they not often happen?

what are the typo rates in your area?

455  Other / Off-topic / Re: Proof of Transaction: the future? on: April 09, 2014, 07:32:59 PM
Proof of work : Hardware verifies the blockchain and transactions, bread and butter of all proofs
Proof of stake: Hold coins, works as interest basically. needs a way to distribute, either by mining and distributing the geneis block, or POW/POS hybrid.
Proof of transaction : Transactions sent via further strengthen the blockchain and rewards user for using it. Sorta like cash back rewards point.
456  Other / Off-topic / Re: Proof of Transaction: the future? on: April 09, 2014, 07:24:31 PM
IT says your a full member, surely you know the basic POW/POS? And POT is in the title...
457  Other / Off-topic / Re: Proof of Transaction: the future? on: April 09, 2014, 07:20:53 PM
why not?

for those not understanding
POS= point of sale
POT= point of transit
POW= point of waiting

Lol troll much?

ITs POS = Proof of Stake
POT = Proof of Transactions (from fluttercoin)
OIW = Proof of Work

459  Economy / Speculation / Has mining ever been profitable "at current rates"? on: April 09, 2014, 06:32:51 PM
It seems all the money seems to go to the miners that keep mining when everyone is telling the to turn off their rigs. Was thinking about this, has there ever been a time in the last 5 years where mining was profitable at current rates?

Does linguine count?

How about spaghetti?
