Anyway, I think we should make an end to this fraud. How can we let the world know MA and his super computer are fake?

I agree. I have been thinking about this for a while, and we are working on it. But it is very hard. Armstrong produces so much confusing material that one needs to unravel and explain as you can see. So much work! Imagine how much horse power we had to apply to get these trolls to stay away. Only the raw facts and rinse and repeat will do it.

Martin Armstrong's Wikipedia article is of course a good place to record facts. It included some more of the failed predictions which were later rejected by an editor because no source acceptable by Wikipedia standards can be found for them. The problem is that no mainstream media outlet wants to write about Martin Armstrong because it would have a negative impact on their credibility.

It might be useful to find someone who can publish on a neutral site for example these recent failures as in https://armstrongecmscam.blogspot.com/2019/07/major-failed-predictions.html

That would be a start.

Obviously armstrongecmscam.blogspot.com is not neutral because its single objective is to be critical in the single subject.

At this stage, the only idea I have is to publish the facts, explaining the fraud etc. on as many sites as possible.

It might just be enough to provide material that frustrated Socrates users looking for a 2nd opinion can find on the internet.

It all takes time.

Any other ideas?

I recall that July is meant to be a panic month according to Gumbi.

Granted, there's time for it to playout however so far it's only been a ~800pt trading range. Only April had a smaller range this year. Prior to that, we're going back to 2017.

The way you use this system is incorrect. The system is meant to be used in hindsight. Then you pick the signals that best match the situation that actually occurred.

Available signals to pick from in a single time frame:
- momentum (bullish / bearish / neutral)
- trend indicator (bullish / bearish / neutral)
- long-term trend (bullish / bearish / neutral)
- cyclical strength indicator (bullish / bearish / neutral)
- direction with respect to indicating pivot (above = bullish / below = bearish)
- timing (complicated, confusing, ambigous: turning points, directional changes, panic cycles, volatility)
- overall tone after recent elected reversals (bullish / bearish / neutral)
- The broader tone of the market (bullish / bearish / neutral)
- Oscillators position (bearish / bullish / mixed)
- Energy (rising / declining)
- Immediate Reversal election (Bullish / Bearish / none)
- Fake elected Reversals https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1082909.msg51666429#msg51666429
- Superposition event canceling a recently elected reversal

Yes, I am not joking, these can all appear in a single report.

Then there are signals that must be considered but they are not in the reports:

- The NON-election of a reversal of a higher order i.e. major (the most ridiculous "signal" I have ever seen)
- Reversal One Percent Rule
- Reversal gap

We are counting 16 signals in a single time frame. When we multiply this by 3 for daily, weekly and monthly time frames to be conservative, we get 48 signals, each of them may have different directions.

The Socrates "system" does not provide a computerized solution for consolidating these signals into a measurable response.

Practically speaking, however, these signals are very useful for Martin Armstrong and cohorts (Gumbi, Alex-11, over45, Strike Eagle 26) to point out in hindsight that the system was right again because signals x y and z told you so. We have seen Gumbi do it here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1082909.msg51536685#msg51536685

This case is the worst because he is picking the "The NON-election of a reversal of a higher order" signal to invalidate an elected Reversal.

That IS the design of it, the design of a charlatan. It is not designed for the user to make a profit. It is designed to show the user after the fact how they SHOULD have made a profit because Socrates is always correct.

Anybody wanting to pay Martin Armstrong money so he can call them a fool?

You would be better off learning and trading on your own. I've found I'm correct more so than MA.
...

I think it can be summarized as follows:

There are 1) the TA principles to master and 2) market knowledge. Both areas are subject to human trading errors.

If we automate 1) then we should eliminate errors in 1).

If we however use Socrates for 1), we are fooling ourselves because then errors in 1) cannot be eliminated because Socrates is subject to human interpretation to an extreme extent. Instead of eliminating the human error component, we would be introducing multiple new sources and types of human error. This drives people insane because Socrates cannot even be understood because of the ambiguities / lack of consistent rules. Therefore, Socrates is not suitable.

In other words: I would ask Martin Armstrong: When are you going to computerize Socrates analysis? And I am serious about it.

Or in yet other words you cannot keep an intelligent person in a Socrates support function for long because that person will be driven insane.

Why Hedge Funds Have Missed the Moves

COMMENT: Well, Ray Dalio was short the market, missed the rally, and lost almost 5% for the first half of the year. Obviously, they don't use Socrates - lol.

LB

REPLY: I do not advise Bridgewater and I have no idea if they even subscribe to Socrates. But what you have to realize is that a lot of these hedge funds form their strategy based upon opinion for the broader view. When you have a portfolio of that size, you cannot simply trade it back and forth for each move. The question becomes critical as to where to draw the line to realize your broadview strategy is wrong.

I have stated many times that the trend does NOT begin to shift until you reach the Monthly Level. We saw that in Gold when it finally got through 1362.50 after nearly four years of bouncing off that number. In the case of the Dow Jones Industrials, our hedging models for institutions were long one month from the low and has remained in that position. This is just a hedging model which is either long or short. It at least tends to keep institutions on the right side of the trend for long periods of time.

Aside from the Reversal System, the Energy Model is extremely helpful in identifying the position of the market and if there is a risk of a crash or a rally. The Energy Model turned negative, demonstrating that there was no possibility of a crash as most analysts were forecasting from a gut perspective. A crash would have been possible ONLY if the Energy Model was at a peak. When it is testing the lows or a negative, it is warning that the energy in the market has already dissipated.

We are simply headed into a Monetary Crisis Cycle where the majority of people will never be able to forecast what will unfold from a personal gut perspective. This is not a time for lucky calls. We need objective time-tested analysis that is not clouded by human bias. This is when we need the global approach to let Socrates simply correlate the world to enable us to see the real trends that are in motion. The worst thing you can do is ASSUME you have missed something, as that is typically the kiss of death for investors where they inevitably buy the high or sell the low.

Lmao, here he goes again, shamelessly doubling down on everything. Now Armstrong is practically saying that he and Socrates were incredible in forcasting the rally from the December lows, the June low etc. What a complete bogus from this total conman. Why does he mention his "great" Energy Models after the rally? Why was he bearish at the end of May/beginning of June despite the fact that his Energy Models were already negative? And did Marty again write his own questions, because a lot of people missed the current rallies because Socrates didn't recognize them.

Thanks. Yes, it is disgraceful, disgusting. Please keep posting. He re-writes the past again. Nobody including himself would have singled out his "Energy Models" signals from the mix of conflicting signals that his super stupid computer created at the time.

We are talking about the back-end that has been running for decades. Yes. Ported from Assembler code.
In my understand it's not the backend. Since MA doesn't want the backend to be connected with the internet, the data must be exported at least once to some other system and probably distributed or mirrored from there to one or several web servers. I assume that this is where the discrepancies and out of sync issues happen.

Has Socrates lost its AI thingy and the self awareness? Socrates is supposed to be the foundation of everything, the main asset!

Apparently decades were not enough to get the basic logic right. If it is not working now it will never work.
We are talking about the back-end that has been running for decades. Yes. Ported from Assembler code.
And there is code in it that KNOWS that it is never going to work because otherwise there would not be the fix-it-patch-it phantom reversals that come out of multiple sets of reversals. Please stop bullshitting us!
This has been online for years. It is pretty obvious now, and I mean really obvious for everyone to see that the whole contraption is pure fraud.

How to copy Socrates Private Blog Text

Socrates is designed to prevent copying the report contents to the clipboard.

Obviously, this is not helpful in case you want to build a track record. You need to copy the text to archive it.

There are two ways to do it:

1) Save the entire page

2) View the source code of the page in your browser, copy the text part and remove the HTML tags and save the raw content as text file. I prefer this option because a text file or text snippet is easier to manage.

today we discover the same behavioral pattern in the output of the Socrates source code:

Can you share that part of the code? Which instrument?
I have already shared it:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1082909.msg51666429#msg51666429

The instrument is Gold Futures. The article is one part of the clear evidence. You don't even need the historical report files for that part because Martin Armstrong writes the evidence in the public blog. The other part of the evidence is in the report files that contain the reversal tables. These reversal tables contain the electable reversals. I have all reports with these tables.

I have seen it in hundreds of reports. I have the report files. In fact I have over 33,000 report files, so for me it is child's play to prove this for multiple instruments. One can see from the output (which is the reports that appear weeks after the reversals should have been generated), that the code is in hindsight lining up fake reversals like pearls on a string to make it appear as if they were elected to match the past trend.

This particular case is outstanding because Martin Armstrong actually writes it in his private blog also so he cannot say later that it was a bug in the code.

It is fairly clear that he uses multiple sets of reversals in the same time frame. One set is the published reversals which may have failed (in this case all four of them), and the other set is the fake reversals which are used in hindsight to fill the gaps that are left by the failed reversals.

You cannot imagine how bad I felt when I discovered this.

If someone is willing to take Martin Armstrong to court about this, then I am willing to share the data with a lawyer. And I will provide the analysis to make the various cases.

As I said before, this is really different from trading risk. It is the concealment of bad performance and replacement of the historical record with fraudulent data. I guess this is covered by different laws. I am not a lawyer but a competent computer programmer. Actually, I am the first and so far the only one I know of who has discovered this flaw in Socrates which I call the Smoking Gun.

Part 2.

Crook of the Month: Martin Armstrong
...
According to Armstrong?s allocution, after he suffered ?some millions of dollars of trading losses?, he decided ?not to disclose to investors that ?. ?Substantial losses had been experienced in this trading of futures. And we did not disclose it.? Armstrong also admitted that his concealment of his losses went beyond non-disclosure: ?letters were sent by my company to investors concerning how much money was in fact in the accounts assigned to them. I ? did send out those letters, even though ?I knew the amounts in the accounts were less than the letter stated.?

You want to send him money. Go ahead!

It is interesting that today we discover the same behavioral pattern in the output of the Socrates source code:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1082909.msg51666429#msg51666429

In the same way, the behavior goes beyond concealment. The failure to execute a signal is turned into the opposite: The claim that execution occurred is manufactured in the reports that Martin Armstrong repeats in his private blog, tricking the reader into believing that the system would have generated a profit had the reader bought the subscription and executed the signal that did in fact not even exist. A computer program lies about its own (lack of) performance.

That is exactly the problem. You are not taking any positive points seriously anymore.
And so you agree that people would not speak about the profits here on the forum. very good.

Exactly.

After fraud is exposed and proven (once again) then the cat is out of the bag.

There cannot be a counter-balance as you wish to create an alternate reality. The 4D chess conspiracy type of logic that you are peddling is only for the consumption by extreme fools who only believe what they want to believe. I doubt that there are many left.

You are trying to construct a theory which is that there are no accounts of Socrates success here because the successful users want to keep the secret of their golden goose to themselves. This is the kind of logic that extreme losers resort to. Indication of the final decline / decay phase of the Martin Armstrong / Socrates ECM scam.

Retarded as I wrote earlier.

Do you think we cannot do here what Martin Armstrong does on his blog every day?

Sorry. No. I would not even try. Explored it, analyzed it.

If I would make profits from Socrates, why should I try to convince some extremely skeptical folks on some internet forum? What would be the benefit of trying this?
I would probably just shut up, do my thing and laugh about this forum.
Following your logic, given the fact that only very few people reading the largest ever public internet forum about Martin Armstrong are still posting here, hundreds if not thousands of them who created the 607,334 counted reads must be profitable and laughing.

And, again following your logic, the fact that the majority of the posters in this forum is extremely skeptical is actually the proof of success of the Socrates system, so please go and buy Socrates subscriptions, reports and conference tickets to get rich really quick.

But wait a minute. This does not add up. Socrates itself does not follow this logic. If your logic did hold, then Socrates would need to make itself appear less successful than it actually is to make it more exclusive. The opposite is true as can be seen here:

Another source confirms ECM / Socrates is useless

Martin A. Armstrong's incorrect forecasts
Marc Arkins
March 2nd 2019

https://www.quora.com/Martin-Armstrong-is-arguably-one-of-the-smartest-men-in-the-world-He-says-we-are-entering-a-period-of-global-cooling-rather-than-global-warming-which-will-be-much-worse-Do-you-believe-in-global-cooling/answer/Marc-Arkins

Conclusions:

In this article, a few reasonably clearly stated forecasts of Martin A. Armstrong
and the Economic Confidence Model (aka Socrates) have been verified using
publicly available data. All of them have proven to be incorrect. This shows
that the ECM cannot be used to predict future trends or events in a reliable
manner.

Considering these facts, I advice against paying for the claimed forecasting and
analysis services offered by Mr. Armstrong. I also suggest to seriously question
any claim made by him, fact-check the provided data and be aware of the
possibility that the vague writing style might stimulate ones confirmation bias.

When you say "after the fact" I'm confused. On Socrates presently listed as weekly elected are the 5 elected on the close of 6/21 , previous 5 elected for close of June 7th were on the table as well, I have it all notated as the elections happened.

stockpile has been deceived as designed by the Socrates software!

Please read the article.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1082909.msg51666429#msg51666429

You will find that on each Friday due date, the closing price was below the next available reversal so each time a due reversal was not elected. Seven weeks in a row. Failure. So whatever table you are looking at, that table is wrong for elected reversals in this time span because it reflects elections that never happened.

In other words, it is NOT possible that a Bullish Reversal with a number above closing price is elected. And it is a fraud if later, a week later, a claim is made that it was elected. For this to happen you would need to adjust the price of the reversal down in hindsight. It would be equally wrong if multiple different sources of reversals were available where the system could claim election from reversals from any of these sources (cherry-pick) in hindsight.

We cannot have it both ways - not elected and elected. How long does it take for the penny to drop? You need to inspect the system in real time, and you need to save snapshots every day to see what happened in the past. As unprofessional as Socrates is, is does not do that, and that is why you are confused now. You are confused because you are looking at a bad table that you cannot cross-check against authentic history.

To make this clear: I have the history. I have the reports, with date and closing price, that contain the reversal tables with the reversals that the system failed to elect.

The plain fact is that a Reversal System as applied by Martin Armstrong does not work.

It only appears to work by means of deception. And the deception in this case is elaborate as it is in most fraudulent schemes. It is like Dieselgate

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_emissions_scandal

The best Armstrong can do is to scrap the service and destroy all source code otherwise the lawyers will be going after him.

Socrates
From May 30th gold has elected 29 daily reversals of which 27 were Bullish (not included are today's bullish elections). 10 weekly elections all Bullish and 5 monthly elections all of which were bullish, I've recently subscribed but it seems the software gave a few clues to this move.

The plain fact based on numbers provided by Socrates is that Socrates missed the move in a spectacular way:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1082909.msg51666429#msg51666429

No Weekly Bullish Reversals published ahead of time were elected during this move.

Yes you may count any number of Weekly Bullish Reversals elected in hindsight but as the quoted article points out, these cannot be traded because they are published exclusively after they should have been elected, only to be counted as success where in fact the system failed which is fraud.

Read this blog starting at page 273 to find out more about computerized fraud

So in that case the weekly elected reversals were released
and shown as elected the very next day!

No. They were never released as such. They are falsely quoted only as totals, not even with their price numbers, in the reports, in hindsight, after the fact. Complete bullshit. No trading signals. Please read the article.

Martin Armstrong is a charlatan, and he spent 11 years in jail for that reason but he has not changed.

Cherry Picking is the Name of the Game

"What makes gold go up? That's when the confidence in government declines" we hear from the "Legendary geopolitical and financial analyst Martin Armstrong".

zerohedge https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-07-17/martin-armstrong-warns-epstein-case-could-shake-global-confidence quotes the usawatchdog.com Greg Hunter interview at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFrNf5VSfPs&feature=youtu.be

It is not new. But it does not hurt to promote it once again, does it?

In the interview, Martin Armstrong predicts that Gold would have a correction to $1350, $1360. Now while it is up at 1427, just claim the opposite. He can't get it right. Socrates cannot get it right:

Again, in the interview, he mentions his conferences three times e.g.

35:00 ... Conference Orlando people from 30 - 40 different countries, usually over 3 trillion dollars sitting in that room. People are there from all over, I mean, we even get Central Banks attending.

That's what it is all about. Follow the money. See you in Orlando.

Martin Armstrong is a charlatan, and he spent 11 years in jail for that reason but he has not changed.

Martin Armstrong, his methods and systems have been thoroughly discredited in this forum. The chapter is closed. You re-open it, you get this message Kiss

well then, if you say that the majority has decided it, then it must be so. Cause the majority is never wrong? hahaha.
I'm pretty sure I'm following the thread longer than you do (since 2015).

This discussion in this forum is a reflection of discovery and refinement of knowledge. Even a new web site has been created as a result of that https://armstrongecmscam.blogspot.com. This is not about me as you are implying.

You are stuck in the state at the beginning of this process (2015 as you say). Which is retarded (timeline).
