441  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: April 13, 2024, 11:11:24 PM
the way I look at it, gambling every day kind of suggest that you're becoming addicted to gambling and I wouldn't want to try it. I believe even for people that do sports gambling that's mostly done during the weekend and midweek, it's not too good to gamble everytime thier is a match, doing so will kind of enslave you to the routine and if you're not carefully to get all of checks right, you might end gambling above your  limit without even knowing you're doing so.

Maybe a maximin of two time gambling should be okay for the week and if you're considering other fun activity, you can decide to play games like snucker, minor sports or use your spare time to catch up with loved ones so it doesn't appear as thought you're spending all your free time engaging in gambling activities.
Gambling every day can be a triggered to be addicted to gambling as they will wants to playing gambling more often than usual because they seek the fun things from gambling. If they don't have self control, that will be a matter of time for them to be addicted to gambling. But if they can protected themselves from the tempting of the gambling, they will not becomes addicted to gambling but they will have a chance to enjoy the gambling games. It's how we can treats gambling and not gambling posses us by using it every day.

We must prevents ourselves from playing gambling and not playing gambling every day to avoids the problems from gambling. Besides that, he will thinks that gambling is his main activities that he must do every day so he will not do the other activities besides gambling. That will makes him addicted to gambling immediately and will not takes too long.

I'll move ahead by saying that gambling every day isn't for naive or curious players. It's a stage of gambling for some experienced players who understand the need to enjoy daily gaming. By following the due diligence process for responsible gambling. Not just for their safety. But getting a full enticing session of gambling. Addicts misused this strategy and got into trouble. It's quite a difficult and dangerous gambling habit for inexperienced people. Most addicts today, were once responsible for a few weeks or more until they began abusing the daily gambling strategy. Before gambling daily, the player must stick to his plans. That's the best and only means of escaping problem gambling due to daily gambling.

That doesn't mean, gamblers who stake games twice a week are free from problem gambling. They can decide to try daily gambling and fail in the process. Gambling every day promotes the chasing of losses for newbies and less experienced. Players who have experience in the game will never fail to stop once the designated time has elapsed. Not money. Some will only stop when their money gets exhausted. Which is wrong. Playing each day demands that a gambler possess a strong experience of self-control. At least 3-5 hours a day is still a nice time range. Then wagering bit by bit to enjoy our money for a long period.
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: April 13, 2024, 10:53:45 PM
When a gambler gets involved in gambling, he becomes addicted to gambling primarily because of his interest in money. I can never take it for granted that anyone who is into gambling is just for fun no matter what they say because a gambler is involved in gambling because of the interest and greed for money.
When a gambler bets on gambling, he is betting for profit. If the gambler loses on that bet, then basically a kind of anxiety is created in him. He becomes depressed because no matter how much he bets on gambling for pleasure, losing will inevitably create some kind of anxiety in him.
Gamblers don't gamble all the time because of the profit; there are times where they gamble just because they want to spend time on the casino and try out new features and have fun, and for the rest of them, it's not all the time that gamblers go to the casino all in the name of looking for greener pastures.

I know most people might be doing that with the mindset of getting something out of it, but not all gamblers are into gambling for entirely profit-making only.

Sure, all gamblers are not in for the profits. It's a self-determination, whether one wants it or not. Money or fun. Skills or health purposes. Gamblers are vastly running a game filled with unique settings, almost specifically made for a single gambler. Each gambler feels a unique drive. It's not a place where one doesn't know what he wants. We the players are fulfilling the wishes of the house. Gambling in their casino. Staying careful and focused to understand why we are gambling, helps players to find out their reasons for gambling. The choices differ, just like our nationalities, financial needs, and fantasies differ. But we share one significant reaction when our needs are not met: disappointment.

If a gambler doesn't have fun in gambling, he won't be happy, because that's what he wants and is not able to receive it. Players who focus on money, and don't win it, will also get sad. In terms of losing money, the reaction also differs according to the individual size of the money. A player who to him, lost a huge amount of money, will react strangely. Unlike a player who lost a few cents or units of dollars. If a player relies on money over his emotions, he'd suffer emotionally. Even if he gets the win, it could go back to settling his emotional stress.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making decisions while betting on: April 13, 2024, 10:31:49 PM
Having a plan before gambling is indeed an easy thing for everyone who wants to bet to do and also they say they will be able to control themselves in the bets they place and I agree with you that this is indeed very easy for us to plan but it will be very difficult to do this. and many of those who have a plan before gambling will do it casually but when they are in the game they do it greedily so they lose in the bets they play and very few people can control themselves when gambling so they make the wrong decisions in the bets they play.

Plans change when the game begins, and it affects the confidence of the gambler in strange ways. Aside from gambling, when pressured to do something, our plans will change. Gamblers who allow the pressure of gambling compulsively to hold them, change their plan. Their previous decision may get altered due to the pressure of making quick decisions while gambling. Players often forget to quit as planned once a specific time elapse. Or even if they recall, the plan will get rescheduled to something else. It's a result of greed. Along the line.

The choice of making money easily supersedes the previous responsible plans. Like money limitations. As the results adjust gamblers tend to restructure their plans towards a better-looking method that could get the big wins. While still in the session, the whole previous plans will be forgotten. Players only remember their main responsible plans after the game is over. When it's almost late. However, deep down the remorse could start, but once back to the game, the same mistake will be repeated.
444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which player are you? on: April 13, 2024, 04:29:24 PM
Do you prefer games where you know right away whether you've won (or lost) casino style, or do you prefer other games like sports betting? Do you have any other favorite games?
My most preferred game is sports betting, and football betting to be precise, This is what I like and derive joy from doing it among every other game betting out there,  because this is the one that also favors me the most and due to my winning rate, most of the time I'm in the money when compared to my winning rate in casino games, So I kind of stick to what that works for me, and I think this is the end goal in gambling, fun and good winning rate, then you are good no need moving here and there if you are seeing the desired result.

I prefer playing slot games due to the fast results. Sports betting is cool but possesses elongated time for the results to be concluded, which affects my thoughts while waiting for the results. Slots only make the process simpler, leaving me to wonder less about what to expect. Can decide to leave when I feel overwhelmed with the results. But, in sports, while watching the game, the viewers get unique reactions when the game isn't ending in their favor. Their mood begins to switch from all angles. However, the thrills are cool when winning.

Gamblers develop different feelings while watching their gameplay. Unlike slot where I'd only decide how to feel and when to end the game. Football causes curiosity and anxiety in the viewers. Though it's a good game, when money is staked on it, those agitations aren't good health-wise. Not talking about you, you've got a nice explanation about how you feel about gambling in soccer. In my perspective it only makes me want to get angry over a player for being unserious. I only watch soccer naturally, who wins or loses doesn't bother me.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: April 13, 2024, 04:17:17 PM
This is particularly true as everyone has got their own idea as to what they think about gambling, they either see it as a side hustle, a main hustle or hobby, some even see it as a means for entertainment as they don't want to gamble to make money alone so they make it their hobby or side hustle. Some other persons has got another reason or view of gambling and that's fine but i think  every other view of it sounds very healthy except for eh aspect of seeing it as a main hustle which will most definitely cause the gambler some kind of unhealthy indulgence because gambling can at a point become addictive and the gambler gets in to problem resulting from their unhealthy gambling habit.

Gambling should always be don cautiously as there are so many aspect and effects that comes with it that one may not know until they are involved and then they get caught up in all of it. Always gamble responsibly and for solely entertainment purposes.

Yes, gambling as a side hustle doesn't sit right as a thought. No gambler has ever made it quite big in this hustle. The house isn't employing their player, except for those who work part-time with the casino. However, while gambling it's crucial for a gambler to devise a plan. Players with no target or plan of what they're doing in a casino, face many troubles. And they'll have a hard time accepting gambling to be a hobby. Instead, they want quick funds, thereby thinking of gambling as a side hustle. Although, gambling is good as a hobby. Especially when the gambler is interested in the games and doesn't focus so much on profits.

A lot can be learned from gambling. Some players don't care about the other technical aspects of gambling, where they'll help build their mental health. Gambling as a hustle diminishes the mental health of the gambler, into thinking he deserves to win the money he's lost. Playing as a hobby gives the gambler some form of confidence that he won't fall into trouble. That's what mainly matters in gambling as a hobby. But when the gambler isn't enjoying it anymore, I don't think this will be tagged a hobby, again.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: April 13, 2024, 03:55:04 PM
Sometimes gambling can be very exciting especially when you have warm multiple times, despite your losses it is also exciting because whenever you remember your winning, you also feel better One of the most interesting part of it is the prediction when you are setting up your bed, you are always calm even when you are done setting up your bets you feel like OK you have done well, that’s a good news. We actually come out some people play more than the Bet at the same time expecting to win at least one or two or to cover up the order losses gambling can be really exciting sometimes and also make you sad.
Your minds manipulate you and make you so excited despite losses. And this is only it means something that gambling is really in your heart. But if you are gambling like you are chasing losses rather than entertaining yourself, it is not gambling anymore but totally a dumb decision.
Gambling responsibly is not a difficult thing to do if we consider gambling to be for our pastime but if we think this would help us improve our living and seeking for quick rich scheme, there is no excitement anymore. And we can never feel happiness even we win because we are aiming more.

Gambling offers excitement to players who want to generate fun through the game. But the changes are also a factor in the player's behavior. If a gambler isn't prepared to retain the fun he's getting in gambling, he finds himself in trouble. However, gambler must exercise their decision-making skills, and not get over themselves when making choices. Gambling requires steady self-observation if a player is looking out for the excitement. Being sad is an involuntary occurrence, staying sad is a decision. After a loss, a gambler can be sad, but if he remains sad, it's his choice. The gambler has the choice to change his mood swings.

Players who enjoy gambling can get sad about losing some bet but laugh over it after some time has crept by. That's a smart means of watching the games in a stable mood. Gambling with a troubled mind grants more losses to the gambler. As his decision would be coming from a place where uncertainty thrives. His mind is not clear on exactly what to do. Hence, whatever he does would be blamed upon, him, especially when he doesn't win a dime. Such experiences confuse the facial expression of a gambler, whether to stay happy or remain sad. In a nutshell, those who are determined to be excited will be, for a long time.
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: April 13, 2024, 03:34:08 PM
It might be that they are still underage which they can't come out to play gambling in the open that people will see them or they are from a region that people don't have the boldness to come out to play gamble because their are some places when people are aware that you are a gambler you feel a shame because of what they will think about you, to be a bad person iñ the society. Sometimes people hide to play gambling because they feel they are not doing the right thing.
This is not always about being underaged, there are people that see gambling and business of the ungodly that is why for people not to see them as a gamble especially when they are known in the public, they would rather decide to gamble in privacy so that people would not know that they are into gambling. I would better prefer to gamble in the hidden places not in public because their are still people that will think that you are doing unethical activities that does not glorified the Lord. We all came from different homes so it is better we understand the kind of home we come from to make things easier for one. Gambling is not for everybody and it's important we know our boundaries.

Upbringing is one part forward for good or bad human behavior. A player who decides to hide while gambling with friends has his reasons. But in the context of upbringing, could it be he was never allowed to openly associate with people growing up? Humans display a huge part of their childhood, as adults. There are multiple factors as to why these people chose to stay in segregated areas to gamble. As they say, correlation doesn't imply causation. We only would guess the reason, in my previous thoughts, I think they're running from the cops. But I still wonder if a gambler running from the cops is serious about this, he'd be in closed doors.

In further thoughts, while writing this, I think of it as valid. Staying outdoors allows the gamblers the freedom to see clearly who approaches the environment, and it's easier to take off. So, it's unrealistic to use one person's upbringing to define the reason behind the behavior of multiple people. The players in that circle may not have similar parental training. This makes the thoughts of upbringing not completely acceptable. However, if they are teenagers who just started their gambling, they could be, truthfully, hiding from people who may report to their parents.
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler lost what he couldn't afford to lost and broke his TV after game Lost on: April 13, 2024, 03:14:29 PM
It is never good to express anger over things it will only hurt you more you just couldn't afford to gamble. Should have calmed down after playing and losing. Breaking the TV is causing you more damage. Destroying things in the house does not work well. Be careful next time because you lost. If you can't avoid losses then stay away from betting the number of losses will decrease.
Losses and winnings are not the same thing, one brings joys and smile while the other brings glaring and sadness. We should learn to understand how the market operates and our emotions should be stable at all time. Emphasis on ruining valuable properties at home because your bets didn't trigger profits, will solve nothing. Gambling addicts are well known for this aggressive actions, they're always hot temper because they become desperate to make profits. Be ready to observed the system and also ensure you've master the momentum of been silent. Anger will lure a gambler to commits offense.

The player may have been shocked to lose $1000, a reminder that he shouldn't gamble what will cause him pain. One anger leads to another, he's now down on both sides, lost his TV and money. That's a severe pain on his end. His regret would lodge in his heart for a while. Peace of mind is the oxygen of humanity. A player whose mind is not peaceful would get stressed out in their thoughts. I think a close person to him like Op should talk to him. He could get depressed if he doesn't receive valuable attention for overreacting in this manner. Explaining to him that all will be fine soon is a better word but letting him understand that his terrible behavior could put him in despair, would make a difference.

That's a problem gambling by the corner, he should be attended to immediately. His expectations have failed him. Having in mind what he would have done with the doubled money if he won, seemed to him a disappointment when he lost. All he ever thought of buying with the money may have been lost. Thoughts like this make gamblers gamble beyond their control. However, he should be in a better mood, soon, emotionally. He was only terrified; his anger would get suppressed sooner. But there is a big tendency he'd get into that behavior again when he tries gambling a high amount and losing it.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is gambling to you, a fanfare or potential financial havoc? on: April 13, 2024, 02:46:50 PM
I guess the keyword here is control. Surely, you can estimate whether your gambling hobby is still under your control or it is already the one controlling you. It's probably easy to measure as well. If you want to stop and you can stop, then you are still in control of it. But if you want to stop but can hardly do it even if you're already losing much more than what you were ready to lose, then perhaps it is already beyond your control. There are so many other signs. But this one is very basic. If you can't anymore say no to gambling, then it's about time to seriously ponder on it. It will turn worse if left unattended.
Self-control and being responsible for every decision, I think every gambler will learn in the hard way and that is when they lose money. At first, I’m into money and aggressively playing without thinking and the control, but sooner or later you’ll realize that you are not improving and the situation is getting worst because of your losses and I believe this is the start where you will think about self-control.

Gamblers get fatigued while brainstorming on the right choice to make in a game. The exercise consumes excessive brainpower and takes away strength for willpower from the gambler. Leaving the player in the dilemma of what next is right to do about a specific decision. Whether to stop or continue. Money has already gone down the money pit. Going after it seems to be a better option. Who else wouldn't go after lost money? It's a normal human phenomenon. When a child's money falls out of his pocket, he'd go back looking for it. The casino or house, work strides ahead to formulate a better means of manipulating the player's human psychology. Too many blames are on the side of the foul gamblers as I may tag them, for chasing after losses. But that's how we all think.

Psychotherapists also have stated that anybody can be a victim of this pursuit. And continually trying out this chase, requires more money. That is the player must wager to get his money back. The search now gets weary for the player, with no strength of control. He'd lose it and go after it like a cheetah. There he makes the biggest mistake of his gambling journey. Hence, staying woke on the energy left in us is a super good decision other than paying much attention on the money. The emotions control how we spend money, so the thoughts of the gambler should be on his emotions. Not to get tired and lose his self-control. Where he wouldn't get a hold of how he wagers his money.
450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stopping the curse of losing streak? on: April 13, 2024, 02:22:27 PM
That's a cool strategy and I like it. But this kind of plan requires discipline which is difficult to achieve when you are a gambler. There's always that one more game, until you lose everything you worked hard for and then all of a sudden you will be shocked that you are already at loss and you are chasing the losses. That's why I said this requires discipline. If the plan to win came true, get out, run, keep it, or spend it for something else. Because if you stay at a gambling site, there will always the thought of playing more and trying to increase the profits but we all know it doesn't come true most of the time.

Grin Grin Grin even if you run as fast as you can, you will still come back to the casino on a very faithful and have that bad run. For what I feel that's important is actually knowing or having the guts to stop when you are losing because that's the most craziest time ever, only that losing spree can break you in a way that you can't even have the mind to continue with your so called fun habit.

It's terrible for a gambler not to quit when he feels uncomfortable with his losses. Advancing on the next wager isn't a smooth choice for any gambler. He could be ending his bankroll each day he tries that. Eliminating the joy he once had, if he ever did, while gambling. It's not an easy task to move away after a win, and that drags down most gamblers to stick around on their gadget. Checking if a lucky day is in the corner. Such thoughts corner the gambler to believe he's about winning, anytime soon. Whatever it is a player accepts is right, going after more wins is unacceptable.

Because the trouble could start out from there, and he'd be unable to quench the fire. It's more like a challenge to the player to accept his responsibility, and not all would go home thinking like a loser. So, sticking around till the funds are over seems to some players as though they've achieved success. Don't know what they think of it. But leaving earlier would have saved the player the stress of leaving in an empty pocket. However, gambling is fun, with the funds. With no funds, it's devastating and incredibly annoying. The ball is in the player's court. But not at all times, will a player think for himself. As the losses could be too much of a burden, he wouldn't think of changing his reasons of going for more and stop.
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: April 12, 2024, 08:30:51 PM
Gambling addicts are getting lesser support because of the difficulty in identifying the early signs of addiction in a player not close to us. Help is only rendered when needed or virtually proven signs is made available. When an addict doesn't show or open up his problems to people around him it's quite hard to figure out his addictive behaviors. Since it's mostly done online, his funds are not being tracked by his acquittances. In society today, many gamblers don't recognize the early gambling symptoms in them, making the identification process very difficult, or the need to help an addict. That's why gamblers must focus on not finding themselves in a condition as difficult as problem gambling.

The healing process is quite very hard to find out by an outside body, unless told, in most cases, especially at the early stages. That's why most helping hands may have not been recorded on behalf of gamblers. Even in environments where gambling addiction strives, it's strenuous getting an addict to therapy. Many addicts when in therapy make the task burdensome for the therapist, due to the difficulty in curing gambling addiction. Unsteady attendance to therapy sessions delays quick recovery. And many addicts find it hard to comply with their therapist, by making it to their therapy sessions.
Gambling addiction's a serious issue. Some folks get caught up in it, and we need to help 'em out. The best way to do that is by spotting the warning signs early. Its about noticing changes - more money going out, changes in mood, that kind of thing. Its about being smart, preventive.

Now, the support system we have right now? Frankly, its not good enough. Its inadequate, needs a serious upgrade. Folks need practical strategies, not just empty promises. Therapy's part of it, but we need to make it accessible, make it work for the people who need it most.

We need a revolution in how we think about gambling. We need to make it safe, responsible, with safeguards to help folks who slip up. Its possible, believe me. Its not just about the money, its about protecting people, giving them a fair chance to beat this. We can make gambling great again, the right way.

I fully understand the need to reach out to problem gamblers, because of the emotional struggle they're undergoing each day. It's not a simple task for the helper either. But with awareness and preventive provisions for newbie players, it could be achieved. The other problem would be how could this be circulated among all the gamblers in the world. It's a big challenge for the gambling niche. Yes, I strongly accept that it's achievable. Given time newbie players can adjust to the advice of people around them or make it open to their loved ones that he's now into gambling. Hence, making it simple for them to watch him closely, and be able to detect any new behavioral change in his life. However, time plays a vital role in such a development or change.

Not every player, due to the stigma placed on gamblers, is comfortable sharing with others about his gambling habit or addictive problems. I think the gambling community online has work to do, by building a strong awareness for players to discuss their problems online with other experienced players. These could be a bit helpful, but not compared to facial therapy with a loved one or a therapist. In a nutshell, what is most important is starting from somewhere. Other than leaving the addict to undergo the stress alone, with no helper at his disposal.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever done something crazy to bet? on: April 12, 2024, 08:18:52 PM
Yes, when growing up, I usually see a lot of older people gambling with Card and setting money to make everyone put in their best and seriousness, one of the things that I do notice is that some people with a particular amount of cash, and they will start setting the money, putting the money in money, putting in money down to zero and finally at the end, they go home with nothing ending up, losing all the money they came with that is wanting about doing things and gambling which I don’t really like it is always good to have a particular amount that you need to gamble with not just running yourself dry just because you want to gamble.

That is the only thing that many must Learn to bet without going crazy, for me it makes no sense to bet just to bet, just to look good to others, no, things are not like that Because for one to have things done it is by working honestly and hard, that's why resting from work is something that doesn't cost anyone because the effort of the other Doesn't matter, one as a player cannot fall into those temptations, we can like the game a lot, but there are things that are above the game, our things, our family, everything that makes us have a life, that is what we must see before making any bet, we are very thoughtful people, we cannot take the step just because or because we let ourselves be arried away by emotions, no. We are minors, our actions have consequences.

Not just in gambling, whenever we want to do something that requires risking our emotions and finances, looking at the family and kids who also would need the funds is a strong factor. It's like an energetic hold back to the person, to stay strong for his family and loved ones. When gambling recklessly it affects not just the gambler, but many other people who look up to him. Being thoughtful as a gambler helps in building strong self-control so as not to fall off into a negative part of gambling. Doing something crazy for the sake of gambling has never been my thing, but don't know what it could be in the future.

The game is quite confusing, and people or players tend to change according to the environment around them. While I still look out for the best in the future, presently, gambling responsibly is a good thing. And shouldn't be left behind for any form of pleasure that other players claim is found in compulsive gambling. However, our self and what we want for ourselves shouldn't be neglected. And nobody wants for himself a broken relationship with his friends and family due to compulsive gambling. So, no need to impress other compulsive gamblers around us who want us to gamble in the form of chasing losses.

You must already understand that AI is everywhere, it is something that we cannot avoid, if some people think that they can use AI for casinos or something like that , then you have to think that the casinos already have their action programs against this, and it is possible that the casinos themselves are against the idea of them using it and obviously the casinos already have their own Equipment with their devices and security against AI, so in view of these things we cannot say that when we think that we How players can we beat a casino with AI, AI is already Implemented in casinos, any threat that arises for a casino will exterminate it and punish the aggressor, the casino does not mind paying the money they must to protect themselves, so in the future the AI can take over the security role and update itself, that's a fact.

Whatever advancement that is developed in the tech world is always in the form of attack and defense. The casino also is prepared for any threat whatsoever that could be used to manipulate the house or results. Attackers who wish to use AI in the casino may have been trying it with not much positive results. People have been asking if AI can be used to gamble, and all. But it's almost impossible. Although the world is transforming technologically, and no company will sit back and watch it run past them, as it will be a disadvantage. So, I agree with your point that the casino is prepared to follow any due precautions diligently to maintain the security of their business and provide the best for their users. I don't think AI would be any much threat. Everyone already is adapting to the usage of AI.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: April 12, 2024, 07:45:23 PM
I think the strategy of doubling money in gambling will not be an easy one to actualize since the gambler will be betting little by little rather than going all in once.

The strategy I know for sure that the gambler would take to double their money from gambling would be if they risk it at once in gambling than to bet little. For example, if they bet with $100 to get $200. The strategy is for the risk takers cos it's either a win or a loss but the possibility of losing is higher than the win.

Going all in is a strategy in gambling, and some gamblers are now addicted to doing this oftentimes. It's the worst form of addiction I've read someone complain about. I do go all in some time, but when I'm sure I've got a royal flush in a poker. I Can't do that in a slot, easily. As it's not under my control, the result could go wrong, thereby, shortening the gambling session and putting me on the test to wager more money. However, gambling bit by bit is a recommended gambling technique for every gambler. At least being mindful of our funds, and how they leave the bankroll is worth it, as a gambler.

So, when the gambler decides to leave the casino, he wouldn't have to stress himself over the decision, as he's not lost enough money in the session. But a player who has wagered a whopping amount of money wouldn't leave the casino without his money. He'd wager more in pursuit of more wins, to recover the lost money. In the case of doubling money and leaving immediately, that doesn't happen all the time. Sometimes the gambler wouldn't be opportune to win a reasonable amount enough to convince him to go home.

Managing money is not simple, a child needs to be groomed earlier in this pact of life since he'd never escape it. This could help in the growth of society if future gamblers are not victims of chasing losses and wagering money recklessly.
You touch an important point to me, very often when I argue that kids should be taught about money matters from a very early age I get a negative response within my family, they say that kids should be let to be kids for as long as possible, but if kids are not taught at an early age healthy money habits, they will grow to develop all kind of behaviors that will set them back for the rest of their lives, so taking your time to teach your kids about money early on will save you and your kids a lot of money and headaches, and this could save kids from gambling at an early age as they will understand that gambling is not really for them.

There'll be a countervailing reaction from other people regarding such ideas, but it sounds like hiding the truth under the sun. Growth is inevitable, since he'd never remain a baby forever it's crucial to walk him through the future he's about to face, while in his childhood. Hence, in the future, he'd be able to look back and thank his stars for having a responsible parent who tutored him earlier on the importance of money management. Not all will grow up and end up as gamblers, but even if they gamble, he wouldn't chase losses. As he's known the basics of limiting his expenses, as a child.

When with kids, I tend to teach them what would favor them in the future, because it's inevitable. Putting them on the right track gives the child advances over some financial challenges, even as a teenager. A lot of adults battle with financial management because it came to them as a surprise. Their parents sounded like those around you who always say let the kids be kids. Erasing from their mind those children will end up becoming adults soon. Same way they were taught to learn how to eat, bathe, clean their teeth, etc., a child should also be versatile in other basic factors of living a healthy life like money management.

Regulating emotions while betting is crucial to avoid impulsive decisions and potential financial losses. It's important because strong emotions can cloud judgment, leading to choices not based on logic or strategy. Techniques such as setting clear limits, taking breaks, and practicing mindfulness can help maintain emotional control. This emotional regulation ensures that betting remains a form of entertainment rather than a harmful habit.
The right decision will always give positive results on the bets we place and will provide a win that benefits us, but we need to remember that to make the right decision of course we must be able to manage patience and also greed in placing bets because without patience of course It's just very difficult to control emotions when betting and it won't give good results from the bets we place.
Setting clear boundaries and not betting continuously will of course really help us in controlling our emotions because when we bet continuously of course we will place bets greedily and this is very difficult for us to enjoy betting.

All the techniques mentioned above that fikrett said help in maintaining emotional regulation, require patience to learn and maintain. Most times or all the time the decisions we make as gamblers determine how our journey will end up in the game. The most challenging part of gambling is that this decision randomly switches from one to another, and a player may not be able to dictate which is the right one to choose or pick. What is to be done when a player is winning continuously, he wouldn't be sure if to stop immediately after he gets his first loss or continue gambling, whether he could be lucky.

Hence, the whole thing begins to get confusing in the long run. Gambling is mainly revolving around self-control, as the house is working round the clock to change how the results and decisions of gamblers appear. It's a mind game and the house keep winning it over the gambler. With patience, a gambler would be able to delay the gravity that pushes them to make wrong decisions. Whatever the plan of the casino, gambling cautiously helps the gambler not to risk a lot of his money, knowingly or unknowingly.

Most children will imitate what their parents do and if we don't want our children to imitate these gambling habits, of course we shouldn't gamble in front of them because if they imitate, of course this will cause us difficulties because they will imitate the habits. Gambling is of course very bad because they cannot differentiate between good things to do and how they can manage the gambling they do.

I agree with you. Gambling in front of children will make them try to imitate us. He will be curious and will try various kinds of gambling that we have played in front of the children. This is a big problem because children have the potential to become very addicted to gambling. We gamble because it is our choice and we already know and are ready for the risks. This will enable us to become wise gamblers. Children don't necessarily like gambling and they can't regulate their emotions when gambling like adults. Therefore try to show something positive in front of our children. I will even try to hide my gambling hobby in front of my children.

Gambling in front of our children is unrealistic and could affect the emotional growth of the child. Starting as a child to watch a father gamble is a threat to the child's future because he'd flashback to the days he watched his dad gamble. Hence, doing it wouldn't seem to him as a new thing. Making him gamble as a pro, despite being a newbie. Which attitude, could lead him to problem gambling as he never had prior training on ways to gamble responsibly. Parents who make the mistake of playing online games in their kid's presence are risking the future financial performance of the child.

Although it seems hard to always escape the presence of children whenever we gamble, there are other quiet moments when kids don't disturb their parents.

Such times could be utilized for gambling, and the gambler will also have a routine for gambling. Instead of gambling recklessly, not mind if his kids are presently watching or not. These things affect the society too, not just the kids at home. He could influence his friends in school, and the problem spread across a wider range of kids in the neighborhood. They could begin trying it out with their gadget during their free time. Parents should be careful with the behavior around kids, as they're fast learners, especially with their parents.

A hobby means something a person derives pleasure in doing and wouldn't mind whether he earns money doing it or not. Hence, gambling in terms of a hobby has a unique definition depending on the usage per player. Just like any other hobby you mentioned on the OP, some people do what they do for money, while others enjoy doing it. If a gambler decides to enjoy gambling regardless of the outcomes, it should be considered as a hobby, and nothing else. The problem with most people is that they've heard lots of wrong inputs on the definition of gambling.

Hence, they'll never accept within their jurisdiction that gambling is a hobby. I'm not surprised this thread erupted out of an argument. Such people will argue this because it's not logically understandable to them to tag gambling as a hobby. Well, if a player sees gambling as his hobby, he could be making the right choice or the wrong one, depending on his activities. But gambling as a hobby seems more interesting than not. Expecting rewards from gambling at all times wouldn't make any increment to the joy or excitement a player would receive in gambling.

Nice try Op, it's quite fine to say that gambling has two options and repeating it as a reminder on the write-up as well was a bit tiring. However, gambling sometimes overshadows the gambler not to think ahead of what next to do, whether to leave or stay. This feeling of, "it could be my chance of winning on the next game" traps gamblers. I see gamblers who trust that the moment they walk away could be their winning moment. Hence, they'll try again, and again till nothing is left. Most players tend to feel relaxed not to play again once they've exhausted their money.

Gambling in both forms helps players get addicted or responsible, lose or gain money, mental health, or mental disorders. These factors keep on increasing as I think of it. So, players are left with the option of choosing where they want to belong. The right or the wrong track. Everyone knows which is the right one for them or not. Some players can choose to chase loss as their own right track, and nothing can be done about it. They've got nice reasons why chasing loss is the best form of gambling for them. In a game that only has two options to choose between, it's quite difficult to find a huge number of people who will continually go with the right ones. While gambling, I'll always examine my game not to end up thinking that the wrong path is the right one.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: April 12, 2024, 10:00:04 AM
In my opinion I don't think gambling has any special health benefits except from the arguable fact that it can help reduce stress in some persons. Since a lot of gamblers view gambling as a fun activity then those set of individuals will definitely be of the opinion that gambling can reduce stress since it's a fun activity and most fun activities help reduce stress. The fact that gambling can reduce stress is also arguable since some people even end up being tensed and stressed up during some gambling sessions especially those where they had accumulated losses and had a lot of thinking and analysis on their mind before placing the next bet.
The truth is for a topic like this, people will definitely view it two sided therefore the stress reducing or causing effect depends on the gambler himself and not the gambling activity.

Before we talk further about the health benefits of gambling, we also need to further consider the negative impacts that gambling has, especially on our mental health. Everyone who gambles and bets certainly knows that the benefits of gambling for our mental health are only temporary. Moreover, if we cannot control ourselves when gambling, instead of gambling making us feel a little happy and relieved, gambling makes us even more stressed.

Basically, someone will feel happy when they can feel satisfied, and talk about satisfaction in gambling when we get a big win while playing it. Meanwhile, being able to get big wins in gambling is not an easy thing to achieve. and no one in this world will feel happy when the money he has is lost for nothing, especially if it is a large enough amount, so that the defeat after defeat he experiences in gambling, it makes him feel even more stressed, and that It could affect your mental health and life balance.

The pleasure of gambling is only temporary, but many people miss and desire this pleasure. The risks posed by gambling are far greater than the benefits provided.

The effect gambling has on a gambler is personal, it depends on the ways the player follows his strategies. Our strategies can indeed be temporary in many ways, such that most players may not be able to control or maintain their methods. Or maybe, the strategy isn't fine enough to fetch the player what he wants in gambling. Hence, he'd look out for a better method of gambling that could yield him what he wants. But some strategies can be risky, especially when they revolve around making lots of profits in gambling. The player, who wants lots of profits, will end up receiving lots of failures that could lead to anxiety and then addiction.

That shows he'll never receive any further health benefits from gambling. A player who wants to develop his critical thinking skills can get that in gambling. It depends wholly on the person's gambling methods, and how he's able to think and rethink methods of recreating fresh strategies that'll make his gambling journey fun and exciting. But not everyone is opportune to devise good strategies for gambling, and don't know that gambling has some health benefits. So, they'll never receive those benefits listed by the OP.
