441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Do you prefer multiple deposit addresses or a permanent one on gaming sites? on: August 25, 2016, 09:26:50 PM
Was asked to set up this poll and hear player feedback.

Thoughts?

This income model seems impossible.

There's no way that users can expect 5-12% returns on their coins for 24 hours.

There is a more than high chance that eventually someone who deposits a high amount of coins will not see them back.

I'd love for this to be legit however (I sincerely hope I'm wrong), as I'd definitely be a user, but would need some assurance and protection in place.

Kind of hoping that I didn't burn half a million now Sad
What do you mean?
What happened?

It was my fault.

I re-formatted a computer which I didn't think had any coins on it but forgot that I put MUE there.

So I'm 90% sure (slight chance I backed it up somewhere), that they're forever stuck in 7FsDyU8B4HJE9mUE2ccPiwdKkSi3tmN6PN and 7MGEefUKbbL72vjABpEsBoEsnoHytB1n2u

No biggie.  I'll buy back soon and contribute in some shape or form.

What site would be used in this idea? Yahoo fantasy? Espn? I might be interested, you have my skype contact if you wanna chat

Yahoo Fantasy.

American Fantasy Football (NFL).

I'll open up a poll to see which entry fee is the most popular.

We can pretty much decide on the rules as a group if we get enough people.
449  Economy / Games and rounds / Higher Stakes Fantasy Football League Interest on: August 11, 2016, 01:12:00 PM
Just gauging interest for some Fantasy Football Leagues.

Ideally, I'd like to have a few in the $50 to $300 range worth of Bitcoin.

Would anyone else be up for it?

What language are the games built in and how did you implement the provable fairness system for them?

Hello Copypasta.

I'd like to reiterate what was explained to you in the chat and in our ticket system.

Never at any time have we accused you or have claimed that you were cheating.

It is standard practice in this industry to investigate high amounts of bitcoin won from newish accounts.  We need to do due diligence to protect our users who have contributed to the house bankroll.

Once the investigation is successfully completed, we will happily process your withdrawal.  Just for the record, you have received every requested cashout up to this point of time.

edit;
I would also like to point out that this has happened to you in the past where we explained that we were holding your withdrawal to take some time to investigate.

We ran analysis and found normal distribution rates and no evidence to support any type of leaked server seeds and upon this processed your withdrawal.

I don't know why you should believe this to be any different.

y u pey 1 not 1 from 1 dey ago. 1 dey i no get coin. i stay up late for monies and get non.

After our investigation is successfully completed, we will process the withdrawal and inform you by ticket and by private message here on bitcointalk.  Thank you.

It seems like CSGOCrash is having a little difficulty, as with all the CSGO gambling sites due to the scandals.

I haven't been following it, but I thought Valve was cracking down on gambling (source)? But it's been 3 weeks, and it seems many of the listed sites are still operational

(Also bustabit has a much lower house edge than csgocrash, ours is scaled from 0 to 1%, where there's is 1-2% -- so if you already have bitcoin, ours probably makes a smarter choice Cheesy)

Is this solely from removing the bonus aspect out or are there more changes that they have made?

Please do not shill other sites in our thread (your last several posts are all related to Bitmex). We don't keep much in our hot wallet ...

It is easy and cheap (low) to discredit the messenger rather than address the message. I don't shill for anybody, and in fact do not have an active account at the service mentioned. (They discontinued servicing US-based accounts several months ago, so I haven't traded there since.) Anyway, their services are entirely different than your own, so I don't think anyone would consider them a competitor anyways. I was simply highlighting their security measures, which they describe very clearly.

My message reflected a genuine desire to see much better security at my favorite sites. Moneypot has been one of those.

Simply assuring us (me) that your use of hot wallets is limited and thus secure, is really just offering up the same reassurance that every other site, including those that have been hacked, have offered up. Your security measures aren't differentiated in any way, and I'm not the only one that has grown more reluctant to send my chips anywhere that hasn't put customer security first.

I believe that our security measures for our hot and cold wallets are a bit different than others and we're going to be improving on them quite heavily over the next little while.

I'm excited to reveal our new method of handling funds when in place soon.

MP - just letting you know that I'm walking away due to security concerns. Bitfinex hack really drove home for me that every hot wallet is vulnerable, and every site swears up and down that they are secure. It is just too hard to believe anymore, and I'm not comfortable holding significant funds on a site like yours, that has plenty of funds in their hot wallet at all times. I'm a gambler for sure, but I never meant to gamble on securty. Bitmex addressed security again in their weekly newsletter - they run the tightest ship I've seen, and I wouldn't have qualms leaving funds on their exchange. The missive is long. Below is just the header, before they plunge into their own security efforts:

Hot Wallet

We don’t have one. We never have since our start in 2014. It is the biggest attack vector for Bitcoin exchanges. Removing this vector greatly reduces the likelihood of losing customer funds.

Hot wallets are convenient but have major pitfalls. Because there is no human intervention involved in the signing of transactions, it is the preferred place by which hackers steal Bitcoin. By the time exchange operators discover a breach in their hot wallet, the Bitcoin is long gone and cannot be recovered.

SatoshiLabs claims that over 1 million Bitcoin have been stolen in hot wallet thefts, the largest being BFX & Mt. Gox. We will not take this risk and users should shun exchanges that hold significant user funds in hot wallets.

Hot wallets can be used smartly, with daily limits & manual refill review. Such rigor is rare but BitMEX plans to implement such a hybrid system by the end of the year. It will not be quickly done - we do not take such a buildout lightly.

End To End Multi-Signature Wallets

All BitMEX customer funds are held in multi-signature wallets. We were the first-ever exchange to hold 100% of customer funds in multisig wallets. We do not use or trust any third-party solutions.

At BitMEX, 2 of 3 partners must sign each withdrawal. If that condition isn’t met, then funds cannot be spent. All signing happens on offline machines ...

We don't keep a large amount of bitcoin in hot wallets.  We actually keep it low and monitor it closely so that we can fill orders and keep a good balance of security and convenience.
