441  Economy / Economics / Re: Vegetable Prices Soar 40% as Crops Fail Under Extreme Weather on: December 27, 2022, 05:25:02 AM
Sounds like a good plan but you are forgetting a few factors. First of all, you need land to grow the vegetables. If you have a spare garden with enough space to start farming its great, but most people live in big cities with apartments. There is the chance to grow some herbs on the balcony, but that is pretty much it. There is the chance to rent a small piece of land at the outskirts of the big cities, but they are expensive and there is a lot of demand for them. Another factor to consider is water prices, as in most regions of the world vegetables need a lot of water to grow. Another thing could be protection against storms or frost. I think growing vegetables on a larger scale efficiently is quite a hard job and will require some knowledge before getting into it.
You are talking about just a single house. But if you consider how many homes and gardens there are in the world for individuals, if we ALL start to grow our own crops, and I mean ALL, like everyone has a fridge, everyone has a bed, everyone has a couch, and now everyone grows their own crops, how little or big depends on the size you have, some have huge gardens, some can do it on pottery, but everyone has a tiny amount at least. That means the whole population combined would make a lot of crops combined. That would be as much as a lot of farmers, even if not all of them equal. At least would be enough to drop the prices a lot considering it all, and would be great.
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 26, 2022, 10:08:32 AM
Dortmund has found a new striker as a replacement for haaland who has been going to the manchester city but another problem is coming just like dortmund wanna tries to sell more players like bellingham nad moukoko. Both were also very important for dortmund. Dortmund will be losing its power once both will be going out again from the club in january. i didn't expect dortmund to be a strong candidate to win the title for now.
The main motive by dortmund was business by making money from developing and then selling players to the another club.
That never made any sense to me at all. I understand making money is an important task of any football club but wouldn't you make more money from the sale of same players if you were champions instead? Like lets assume during a season they kept sancho and haaland and bellingham all together, like lets say this year, and then they became champions and sold those players that way, wouldn't they make more money?

This way they are just giving players away, specially with release clause and haaland situation, he could have been 100+ million easily but because of release clause he went for very cheap. All in all I find that to be a bad business management.
443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 25, 2022, 09:11:34 PM
I was thinking Chelsea will fight back to gain a position in the top by the second half of the season, but it saddens my heart that their second hope for a central attack; Armando Brodja will be out of the remaining half of the 2022/2023 season due to an ACL injury. Aubameyang is not as productive as expected and this has become a very big challenge for Graham potter's side. I Just pray he succeeds in bringing in David Fofana.
With this all look like now luck is not favouring Chelsea and new management because suddenly things are going against them with back to back problems and on and off the field issues they are already down in league table and this injury surely can bring bit setback for them with mostly their chance can drop to zero for the next years Champions League qualification Aubameyang which was at his best while he was serving in Barcelona suddenly out of his form and this injury mean Graham Potter's options are going limited for the best results and having good end of this season.

Now all eyes on their targets in coming transfer window because if they are able to have their required players then surely we can expect better things otherwise they could be at their worst end of recent years specially after the end of Abro era surely not good for the fans.
444  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - 🦉 Drake, UFC, Everton Main Partner ⚽ 🥊 on: December 25, 2022, 08:16:56 PM
As per today email, Stake is going to announce a surprise tomorrow. Let guess what will be the surprise that is going to come tomorrow? Will we get big bonus tomorrow as the final Christmas promotion? Or we will get something that we will never seen before?
I guess that it could be the bonus, or it could be promotion, it could be basically anything that would give us more money than we normally would or at least the possibility of it.

Some games have 1% house edge, if they offer you something more than the 1% in return of gambling, such as 2 bucks per 100 dollars betting for example, that means they will make a loss, so there is no point in doing that, but if they ever do 10 bucks given to 1 person out of 20 type of deal per 100 dollar bet, that means it would be 0.2% only and that would still make them profit generally while some would earn more than house edge. That's the gist of every single bit of marketing any casino could ever do.
445  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Long term Crypto winning strategies on: December 25, 2022, 05:56:48 PM
I believe that no strategy works the second time. Everything that works is just pure luck and good calculations. If your calculation and predictions are good, then definitely you can minimise the risk.
A strategy needs to be updated so that it can work all the time but you must still need to go for stoploss and technically derived target level so that a strategy will be working forever or else you can exit at small loss. The reason for having stoploss level in your trade is that no strategy is perfect against market fluctuations. So, with stoploss function, we can believe into all strategy all the times given that time to time posses are happening as well.

The simple trick here we need to consider is, stoploss should be half of what we are having as target level so that we can manage the losses at minimum against profitable trades.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 25, 2022, 05:08:46 PM
As for the Lakers, for me it's going to be a hard fought games for them to even land in the play-in, they are going to be cluster around that 8-12 spot that every game is going to be important. So still a hit or miss for them, even if AD comes back, gonna be hard for the Lakers to meet this season's playoff.
AD not being available is not really the issue that people make it out to be. They were bad when he played, and they are bad without him, maybe even worse. If you ever expected them to be suddenly great and fight for a title then you must be sad that he is going to miss games.

However, even with the win streak I never trusted them to make a big leap and I believed the very best they could do would have been a first round exit, and missing a first round exit is not that much of a big miss. I would rather miss the whole playoffs instead of losing in the first round, so that I would have more time to rebuild the team and let the players rest a lot more.
447  Economy / Economics / Re: Saving one third what you earn monthly is not that hard, isn't it ? on: December 24, 2022, 09:44:48 PM
It depends on your income and not the theory of saving 1/3 or 1/2 of your salary. In OP's case, he is talking about a 3k income. Then if you are living in 3rd country or you are not married, it is super easy to save 1/3 of that income. But if your income is 1k$ or 500$ and you are married, then it must not be easy. However, if we really want to save money, I think we will always find a way to do so, it's up to us whether we do it or not.
I can vouch for the fact that anything a grand or lower in a third world country doesn't give you the freedom to save one third of your salary. First of all, we are living in such poverty as nations that some things are luxury to us to begin with, such as cars or the brand new iphone, or drinking starbucks everyday, these are all luxury.

The regular life stuff could be cheaper, the price of bread or rice or pasta or whatever, the life stuff, making a fettucini alfredo could be cheaper, but if I want to get the new playstation I would have to work over a month to pay for it. So we always spend more when we get some extra cash, in order to reach the western worlds life standards, and can't save.
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: December 24, 2022, 09:23:15 PM
Although Mbappe is scoring more goals than Messi in the World Cup, he cannot even come close to Messi's style of play. Because Messi has single-handedly led the entire Argentina team forward. Lionel Messi's feat in winning the World Cup is one football fans will never forget.
Saying that Messi carried his team on his back to win the world cup on a game where Mbappe scored 3 goals and scored his penalty as well (technically fourth goal) is weird. I mean this guy was the only reason Argentina didn't beat France the way they beat Croatia.

The game could have been over 2-0 if he wasn't as good as he is, specially that second goal was something special, to hit the ball like that from there in a way goalkeeper would know where you are hitting and STILL can't save it, that was magical. I am not saying Mbappe is better than Messi or anything, maybe now he could be, but to say Messi is worse in general would be idiotic. All I am saying is that Mbappe is not bad neither, dude is quite great.
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just how bad is the bear market right now? on: December 24, 2022, 09:04:36 PM
The 'Bear Market' is really bad right now sad to admit.  We have seen the price of Bitcoin between 16k and 18k for some time now.  It is still very uncertain when this 'Bear Market' will end but some people think the Bull Market will start early 2023 and this something I want to believe is going to happen.

When the price was 18k I saw many people talk about how we have hit the rock bottom in Bitcoin price and it can only go up from here. Soon after that the price went back down to 16,500 so at this point we really do not know when it will end.
I think it's not really that bad, it has been holding off very well all things considered and I believe that it should go on like that for a while longer. I am not saying that it is going to end up with a higher price right away, but I am not expecting it to do greatly in the long run neither.

It should be something that is stable for a while, and to think that we have been between 15k to 25k for the past 8 or so months, I can say that it has been quite stable compared to past. People claim bitcoin is volatile, but considering the range it had for the past 8 months, plenty of investments, including stocks, had the same sort of range as bitcoin during the same period.
450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: December 24, 2022, 07:18:31 PM
It is very natural when you see the favorites to win the Europa League from the status of the "big" team they have. I think everyone will do the same when 2 teams meet between a popular team and a not so popular team even though they are playing very well in the domestic league. In the end, they are the ones who decide for themselves whether favorite status can bring them victory or not.
The Frankfurt win of last year should be on minds of everyone else. We have seen some "big" clubs last year, even Barcelona was there again just like this year, and yet Frankfurt ended up winning.

This is a cup that people nicknamed "sevillas cup" for a reason, because they won it more than anyone else, even though UCL teams drop to Europa all the time. So that should tell you how being a big club doesn't matter when you are in Europa, one bad game and you would be gone, one unlucky ball bounce and you are back at home watching rest of the tournament. This is why it's quite important to remind these big clubs to put %100 into this if they want to win it.
451  Economy / Speculation / Re: The world is not doing well on: December 24, 2022, 09:34:31 AM
People will be facing bitcoin as a challenge no matter how many times it has proven to recover. I promise you, we will recover from this as usual, it will go up, and I mean go up a lot, maybe over 100k maybe even over 200k, and then it will have a crash again and people will doubt it again. You will say it has gone down and up even bigger 4-5 times now, why doubt it again* And people will still doubt it, then it will go up and go down again and people will doubt it again.

When it is your savings we are talking about a drop is not easy to accept and move on, it takes a lot of knowledge and confidence in what you invest into in order to make sure it will recover.
Those are the people who have not survived a bear period like we did, and that is why they do not know what the future holds. What we have to remind ourselves is that there are two types of new people, one is the person who checks out crypto when there is a bull run, leaves during bear, and comes back for the bull run again who just hates the bear period enough that they just sell and run away, so they will always doubt if bull run will come.

Secondly we are talking about new people who just joined on the most recent bull run, which means they have never seen the bear run before, and never experienced the recovery neither. Both those people have no idea how we always recover, and that's fine, with time they will learn.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: December 23, 2022, 03:27:10 PM
To be honest with you, I cannot argue yet. I have not watched any of the top movies speculated to be nominated in the Oscar awards. However, similar to what I have said before, sportsbooks and oddsmakers list the odds based on what they speculate might win with much of the votes from the academy of motion picture arts and sciences. They also clearly have more information than us. Our task as bettors is to speculate on the changes in odds and take advantage.
It is true that people still do go to movies, but after the pandemic there was bound to be some drop, and I doubt it would go back to numbers it reached for a while. Cinema lived a good golden age between 2010 and 2020, but after 2020 there were lockdowns and so forth, and more and more netflix style things became known, disney plus is the most famous one, but even smaller ones like hbo and even to a point amazon prime became more and more used.

That means we are talking about multiple companies giving you a chance to watch things at home, and a lot more things to watch with high quality is now available to you within a click as well. It's harder to convince people to get out of their house and pay a months wort subscription on tickets, and maybe another for pop corn and a soda.

Alexis Mac Allister is targeted by Arsenal and Atletico Madrid now. His World Cup performance at Argentina was really impressive and it is a big help for him to find bigger teams for himself. He was one of the attention getting players of the team during the World Cup. His performance at Brighton is already fascinating so far in the Premier League.
There are five clubs in total who have been interested with him and these clubs are arsenal, totenham, MU, atletico madrid and Intermilan. These clubs were still monitoring him but some clubs were leading the way to get him from brighton. Brighton itself has not yet said anything about whether brighton wanna try to let him go with 32 million euros or brighton has another opinion to increase his value since there are so many clubs who interested with him.
This World Cup performance should surely increase his value from now on. His value is 32 million euros for now but I'm sure Brighton would demand much more than this. If Arsenal and Atletico Madrid both make an offer maybe his choice would be to stay in this league.
I hope that he will be leaving from brighton caused by he can get better experience one he will be deciding to join in a bigger club than stay in brighton.
I feel like 30+ million would be more than enough for brighton, that's a big enough amount that they could get at least 5 players from 6 million each. I am not saying that's what they will do, they could get 2 players for 15 million each all I care but brighton is not the type of team that spends a ton of money on players, so it would be a lot of money for them if they could sell him for another over 30.

Obviously it should be open field, like whoever bids highest should get him, no idea if he has release clause, but if he doesn't then it shouldn't be Brighton deciding how much he should go, but the open market of auction style bidding should dictate his value.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 22, 2022, 12:30:38 PM
As long as MU will always be doing well in carabao cup and ten haag may able to make MU get this trophy but there will be a very hot match between liverpool against manchester city. That will determine which big club that will be going to the next round. Liverpool was not in good condition caused by it has been losing some of its players while city may play with the main squad. Rashford seems to be the main choice by ten haag. the new collaboration between casemiro with lindelof was going very good against burnley but i didn't know what's gonna be the result when the opponent that faced by mu was not burnley.
It would be definitely difficult to beat any team in any cup for MU as long as they do not find a way to jell better together. They are rid of Ronaldo they wanted so much, so lets see if this works out, being in the club but not playing is not the same as not even being in the club anymore. They fired him with the intentions of being better without him and we will see if that works well for them.

I am aiming at fourth place for them, if they could ever do that then it would be awesome, if they don't then they won't get anything better than last year and what was the purpose of firing Ole if the yare going just end up not being in UCL back to back seasons.
455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: December 22, 2022, 11:34:20 AM
I don't know what the result will be, but as we are talking on the forum right now, I think the Manchester United-Barcelona match is being talked about all over the world.  There was no interest in the European league as before, but the teams eliminated from UCL definitely made this place very exciting.  Since Manchester United could not finish the group as the leader, they had to stay in these matchups.  I think Barcelona is better and will pass the elimination.
It's normal, there are less entertaining games at UCL right now and it is normal for people to be excited about that game. United and Barcelona are both teams that used to be awesome, had a bad period, and trying to recover this year back to their good old years.

They are basically having the same issues and it should not be shocking that their fans want their teams to win not just because they like to win this time, that's true for all times but this time they want it as a sign of recovery to good times as well. One of the fanbases will be upset, one of them will lose, and that will not just be loss of a game but potential loss of hope for the recovery process as well.
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would be an ideal KYC solution? on: December 21, 2022, 11:56:16 AM
I think kyc system sort of kills the purpose of using cryptocurrencies. It feels lot more safe/independent to move my wealth through crypto because of obvious reasons. Many people prefer crypto to take a breath out of government controlled financial world.
When I think about casino side, they should always establish it in a relaxed law country. Giving exceptions to users that can move through some regulations may also help.
I think it is a bit about the fact that crypto and casinos or crypto and exchanges are different logics to begin with when you use them. The reality is that crypto itself, like bitcoin for example, is decentralized and that means there is no central figure that controls it, we are all in control and that means we could make it work without telling anyone who we are, not even a nickname if we do not want to.

However, if we are talking about an exchange or a casino that is run by a centralized organization, there is an owner at the top, and when you use something centralized like that then you are giving all the rights to your information away, and they can ask you for anything, it could be crypto or fiat or anything else.
457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 21, 2022, 11:36:51 AM
Napoli have not lost a match so far this season... Bookmakers favour Inter, giving odds of 2.32 to Napoli's 3.32... I think that in this match Inter will not win and Napoli will continue to play without a defeat... So I would bet that Napoli will not lose, but even better that both teams will score...
I think oddmakers are wrong in this case, Napoli is far superior and the only reason why they are seen as the team that "may" lose this game is the fact that they haven't lost so far and everyone thinks that they will eventually lose one day, and when they lose it's going to end up being something much bigger and Inter is a bigger club.

I believe that even though they may end up losing eventually, that is not going to be this one, maybe it will be to a good big club but it doesn't have to be now. Considering their players are rested as well, they are going to be fresh and they will end up winning this game, and the first loss will come much later on.
458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 20, 2022, 08:18:22 PM
Bayern Munich actually had 4 difference points from second position and for race title Bayern position still possible to overtaked by other teams such as Freiburg but this became so hard because Bayern was too dominant for each matches so when Bundesliga starting again i think the position will not so different and on next month maybe we will see big match between Bayern Munich vs Leipzig but this could be one side match considering Bayern is too strong for Leipzig although Leipzig has performing well lately but it wouldn't be enough for them to beat Bayern but the latest news said Bayern has losing some of their important players so lets see whether Leipzig can makes Bayern to slipped or not
Bayern was not even first, they started the season very badly and there were even discussions about firing Nagelsmann as well and they managed to survive and get a win. I think it is important to have those bad periods because it allows you to see the weakness, if you keep on dominating that is great but inside that dominating there could be greatness hiding the weakness somewhere, with that bad period they saw what they needed to change and became the leader of the league.

I feel like it is much harder now to take them from leadership, they are going to be the champions all over again and should be doing quite well enough to make a difference as well, like 10-15+ points difference by the end.

Could he also consider going to a club with a slightly lesser status such as Chelsea to still play CL?
I guess, the best thing for cristiano Ronaldo to do now, is to resign to receive a beautiful honor from the world, and to look for a coaching job to raise more potential players that will make the world to celebrate him than looking for a club to join after the disgrace Manchester united coach gave to him by eliminated his contract. I don't think, Chelsea coach will allow someone that is above 28 age in their team, because cristiano Ronaldo is almost 38 age now, which it will be difficult for any team to accept such player in their team.
I think 38 is not a negative for Cristiano.  We watched Zlatan again with his good performance at this age.  Ronaldo can show this performance in the same way.  It just takes a team that believes in it.  He was 37 years old last year and had done well for Manchester United.  Cristiano Ronaldo probably plans to play football until the age of 40.  Later, he can step into his coaching career.
It may not be a negative, but Ibrahimovic wasn't there because of his amazing goal scoring or just his talents, dude was there as a leader of the team, Ronaldo lost that with his latest United period. He didn't looked like a leader, he looked like a guy who wanted stats more than anything else and last year he played amazingly, dude even had a few hattricks.

So, it is easy to say he is not that terrible now neither, but he doesn't look like a good locker room guy and that could be an issue. Plus any great team that is fighting for UCL title would want someone with less media attention around him, and that is why it's not an easy task. I think it would be better for him to go outside of Europe for a while and then retire, or at least go back to his origins, to Lisbon if I am not wrong and just play there.
460  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does a trading strategy becomes obsolete? on: December 20, 2022, 03:19:33 PM
Isn’t it our advantage if everyone is using same indicator and using it as reference for there trading strategy since we are all buying at the same time which will create a strong market buy pressure to pump the price?
If this is possible then who will lose? If everyone understand when to make profit then nobody will lose including you, or you enjoy to lose? The beauty of the market is the loss and profit without this it is not trading and if you take that away from it nobody will go into it. People go into trading with the hope that they will be better profit takers but unfortunately it is not like that because of different interactive factors in the market.
I don't think all traders will use the same indicator but there will be traders who likes to separate their selves from the crowd and will use less popular or harder indicators. In trading, there must always be a loser more than the winner or vice versa. There is no way that all are going to go in one direction as the market will lost its balance and will not be as good as before anymore.

As for the question of the OP, my response would be yes. There will always be a bad trading strategy. It may work at first or on some other times but the rest are just simply a loss. Now is there a trader who will like to use it and just incur a loss? I guess no but we must move on and make another working start.
