441  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Corrupt leaders are made foolish people. on: March 20, 2024, 06:36:10 PM

I would hold people accountable for being in an creating a corrupt leaders rather than the leaders themself.

I don't think that is absolutely correct that you will hold people accountable for creating corrupt leader. So in a democracy, before a new government is formed they conduct election for the candidates who have shown interest to to be voted for, so you can only be correct in your submission if people did not come out to vote their choice and most times the people have majority of their vote to one candidate but what happens after election is what determines who the few in power want and they will manipulate the result of the election and announce a wrong candidate. In this case would you say the people voted a corrupt leader?

The bulk of the people leading are not the choice of the people especially in third world countries where corruption is very high.

Therefore, it is not the fault of the people that their leaders are corrupt.

This may be limited to third world country with extremely corrupt officials as well. I got your point this is something which would be exceptional cases but unfortunately there are higher chances of such things to occur in most of the third world/under developed nations. The only way out for them is a genuine leader coming out of corrupt political party or a change of heart from corrupt leaders.

Yes, I cannot blame people in this situation and I think Egypt and Syria are great example wherein the opposition is selected by the ruling party which eradicates the chances of genuine opponents.
442  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bothered about every DIP? It's just a mental check. on: March 20, 2024, 06:22:18 PM
It was just another day on crypto for me as I am not a newcomer and this was expected, I am comfortable with such dips as we are used to exclusively for Bitcoin wherein I don't but the situation would be bit different had it been any Altcoin (right now I have much of my investment into Bitcoin hence not bothered about Altcoins).

I think it would be better if everyone understands just like day and night there would be pump and dump in the market we have to utilize it to our benefit rather than panic selling or stressing on it.
443  Economy / Economics / Re: Everything is over priced but people keep spending on: March 20, 2024, 06:06:43 PM
Those who are wealthy have already saved their large sum in investment so therefore they are enjoying their life by eating and dressing because all of the income amount cannot be used for investment purpose. Those who are middle class people are just living their life by completing their needs only while they avoid all their wishes due to limited amount of money.

If someone is spending huge money by eating in restaurants then they can save such amount by eating a healthy diet at home so their health will be better and also they can invest in something if they wants. Spending can be reduces by reducing unnecessary activities but if you are continuously spending without thinking about future then you will regret during inflation.

It's more of a race between the hard working middle class person who is striving to break the barrier of middle class but unable to do the same due the ever increasing inflation and things being over priced though earning good amount it doesn't leave him/her to save or invest much against someone who ancestors were once middle class but were lucky enough to break the stigma and became wealthy and their kids or linage don't have to think much before spending carelessly.

The problem is unequal distribution of wealth but wealthy elite don't agree with this.
444  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time to Buy More BTC? on: March 20, 2024, 05:54:12 PM
I don't think FED meet up has anything to do with Bitcoin and yes we assume it's a short term correction which is usual before and during the halving. If you are afraid of further dip then don't go all at once rather do DCA or keep tracking the market and buy when the price starts to bounce back. I would say you don't even have to think so much as it's not any random Altcoin and you have already mentioned the fact as Bitcoin continues to be bullish on long term. Either do DCA or split and invest your funds.
445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin becoming Legal tender on: March 19, 2024, 08:20:36 PM
BTC is so amazing and I also believe it take years for its founder to came up with such idea and produce it later on. If you are talking about making it as a legal tender, the answer will be the same. We can just look back on when did El Salvador declare this status in their BTC. It was on 2021 and that is almost 12 years, starting from the creation of BTC, however it didn't take long enough for other countries to follow the idea.

For some countries, maybe their governments and banks will never agree of it. For me, it's not a big deal but as long as they already allow BTC and other cryptos even as a means of asset only because I know many of us are still not fond of using our cryptos like a typical currency for regular use. Just don't worry because I believe that BTC is still decentralized despite of being a legal tender on some countries.

I have slightly different take on it as I don't think Bitcoin can become legal tender like we have seen in El Salvador but the intention of creating Bitcoin has been decentralised P2P transfer and I would be happy if it serves the purpose and as far as bankers and government are concerned they would always try to find a reason to stop the Bitcoin domination but since it's decentralised they can't do much.
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin will FAIL on: March 19, 2024, 07:31:49 PM
Although this thread was created in 2017 so it's been a long time so it's an old topic. Currently all of these Dogecoins have been at least inactive and have seen massive success since Elonmusk took over the project. Hence it is currently enjoying massive success and is apt to grow further.
Elon Musk has turned his attention to Doge, and it's had its moments of success. Whenever he talks about Doge, through his mouth or social media, it tends to soar. But it also crashes just as hard. Now that Elon Musk has spoken up again, it might be best to steer clear of anything associated with him.
Investors should enjoy while it last, Elon Musk has this great influence when it comes to crypto, talking about a particular coin can trigger investors to buy. Now the coin has gained value compared to the time op posted the thread, I saw similar thread about dogecoin yesterday and this coin seems to be popular as we've seen in the market, my question is will this value last or the coin will still fall, I'm curious to know what's next after the pump.

Elon Musk is the only reason why this coin gained value and I still remember those days when this coin was making more than 100% from on consecutive days but after certain point of time people realised that Elon Musk was just manipulating with this coin using his influence they stopped paying heed and the kind of pump which it received with tweets and mentions of Elon Musk reduced to great extend hence I don't think it would repeat such pump and even if it pump it won't last.
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investment a necessity or a want? on: March 19, 2024, 07:10:06 PM
Nothing stands in between health and well being I would say it's a foolish thing with your friend is following in soon here she is going to regret it because if you have health you can on anytime through any source not only cryptocurrency but let's say you have immense well which you have acquired by sacrificing your health then who's gonna use it? If you are not in condition to live a normal life? Anything over health is not justifyable and I think your friend needs to find a balance or he/she will end up losing in both the aspect the health as well as wealth.
448  Economy / Speculation / Re: Every moments of bitcoin value is appreciable for investors on: March 19, 2024, 06:51:08 PM
I mean trading Bitcoin as well as holding Bitcoin and recently maybe for a year now have started doing DCA entrance me these methods give you more and more profit then trading also these methods reduces the stress level which you have to endure during the trading. Most of the traders are exhausted but they don't want to hodl for a long time I think if we diversify our methods like having a combination of all then we will be in profit under any market conditions.
449  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Our government too are part of the Bitcoin Investors but they acts uninterested. on: March 18, 2024, 07:46:36 PM
I don't think that our leaders are BTC investors bro because, something that is benefiting you, how can you be looking for way to stop the thing not to exit in the country and forget that it will affect their wealth too.

I believe that our leaders in power don't have the idea of BTC because, El Salvador government that legalized BTC in their country, the idea came from their leaders that know what is good for their citizens and their economic is moving well more than some countries of the world that is making the citizens to praise their leaders for the good job.

I would relate this to the situation in India where the government has banned the foreign exchange and if you have to trade via Indian exchanges you will pay an TDS of 1% per trade and 30% tax on gains,  there are people within government who are aware and invested in the crypto but now they are making it difficult for citizens to get benefitted from it they are just sadistic they want the population to be poor because it's easy to rule over poor than elites or riches. I think Nigerian government is pulling a similar thing here.
450  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't do this mistakes in trading on: March 18, 2024, 07:08:29 PM
Greed is one factor that many does a mistake. Whether they're traders or investors of meme coins or any hype tokens nowadays if they are greedy and don't take profits, they're likely to miss opportunities of profiting and will miss selling at the right time.

Actually, it doesn't have to be a right time. As long as they have already made some profit and depends on what kind of percentage you've made, then it is for sure possible for you hit your targets as long as they're achievable.

But when you have started to make such high assumptions and targets then that's going to make it hard for you to achieve them and will show how greedy you are.

True, even I have made such mistakes out of greed and people will be surprised I have lost thousands of dollars in future trading in the past just because I was not taking profit and rather waiting for more profit without SL and as a result I have learn my lesson and it's little bit difficult to manage greed unless we make a strategy which should have a process of taking profits regularly. I have overcome that with great difficulty and now aims for little profit but multiple instances of taking profit instead of waiting for huge and ending up with nothing.

451  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Corrupt leaders are made foolish people. on: March 18, 2024, 06:54:41 PM
Nepotism and tribalism has led to bad leadership and corrupt government, and still the citizens will not learn from their mistakes because they feel that it is better for someone that they know to be in power even though he is incompetent. Forgetting the damage that such decisions actions will do to the people and the economy of the country.

In my country, I must say that they citizens have understood that they are the ones to vote out bad government, but the Independent Electoral body is the one kills the meaning of democracy in the country. This is because after collecting bribe, he announces the wrong person as the winner of the election, and put the whole country is a mess and the economy in a very bad shape. That body should be dissolved if my country needs a leader of their choice to be in power.

That's really bad it's lie entire country suffering for no fault of theirs just because of greedy electoral body and as long as electoral body like this exists nothing is going to change and we have already seen what happens when people raises against government and protest if it's developed nation then it's sorted peacefully by agreeing with demand of people but countries like African nations and Arab countries it becomes genocide where government indiscriminately kills its people and makes it a civil war like we are witnessing in Syria and Yemen.
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you feel about market recovery on: March 18, 2024, 06:35:29 PM
As we were in bear run since long time, now its good to see bull have taken control the market already. Actually When you asked about market recovery, that wasn't the time but now market is recovering so fast, even grow a lot. where it already more than thrice since your post. Halving might be an issue for dump but i guess, market will also recover then and will grow in upcoming days. Seeing market growth will undoubtedly make crypto lover happy as well as it will bring so many opportunities
You are right if I could recall correctly since the creation of this topic till date we have seen market recovers so fast and so quickly even more than what was said initially, this new ATH is another target but seeing bitcoin and other cryptocurrency declining so fast make someone to feels being entrapped by the market because lot of people will be wanting to hold more thinking to break out 80k to 100k. From previous post I give a speculation about the price and it went that way, though we might see more decline in price since halving is around the corner.

Honestly, I was expecting this when the Bitcoin crossed $40k as i never thought Bitcoin will achieve new ATH before halving and every pump I felt it's going to be a trap or a market correction post this but to my surprise t didn't happened and instead Bitcoin has been on rally for a while which has pumped up other altcoins as well. I don't think we need to panic due to the current dip rather wait for price to dip further to reinvest as some of usight have missed the rally.
453  Economy / Economics / Re: Fix the money, Fix the world. on: March 18, 2024, 06:18:14 PM
Bitcoin can be used as an alternative to money but there are also many risks as Bitcoin is not limited to a specific price.  As the price of Bitcoin is not stable, it cannot be compared to FIAT and the money savings cannot be relaxed like FIAT.  Bitcoin is a powerful asset it can only be paid with Bitcoin as a perfect FIAT alternative for investing but Bitcoin cannot be used as a default currency to the exclusion of FIAT.

the main problem with using bitcoin as a means of payment is that the price tends to be unstable, quite different compared to fiat where the value can be stable. and again, to transact bitcoin it requires a waiting time of around 10 minutes with fees that can reach several dollars in one transaction, this makes bitcoin not very attractive to people who want to make local transactions.

however, for cross-border transactions, perhaps bitcoin could be the best choice. because the waiting time is faster than regular payment platforms and the fees are relatively more affordable.

Yes the one which you listed are few limitations of Bitcoin people who wants to do low value transaction prefer some other alternative cryptocurrency like TRX which are much cheaper I would say almost like zero fees and much faster there are so many Altcoins to name but as you mentioned about volatility these coins tends to be more volatile than Bitcoin hence people are using stable coins but I generally don't prefer stable coins as we are made to believe that they are backed but there is no concrete proof apart from their own reports hence they can disappear anytime but not so soon.

Bitcoin would be best suitable for large transactions due to its security and also less volatility compared to other altcoins.
454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which narrative does a project have to adopt to gain your attention now? on: March 18, 2024, 06:00:28 PM
I always look for a working product and th mind of service the new project has to offer I usually wouldn't get in if it's the replica of same projects which are already available in the market wr need something new and unique which should solve our real life problems and make it easier for us to complete certain task. I think Gaming had been trending high but AI will eventually take over the spot sooner or later.
455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The impact of Bitcoin ETF on Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market! on: March 18, 2024, 05:39:36 PM
It has definitely brought in more money as those who were skeptical about Bitcoin ended up investing into it and it was one more step towards being mainstream but however these are only short term impact and if you ask me what would be the long term impact I would say long term impact won't be much as there may be some other similar adoption in the future which may have more impact. But so far this Bitcoin ETF has helped its price movement in a positive way.
456  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Impact of religion in Nigeria development on: March 17, 2024, 11:10:03 AM
It's works both the way it unites people brings peace and tops violence and also promotes brotherhood amongst people but if select the leaders only based on religion it creates corrupt leaders as they are assured of votes and also create sectarian strife to win votes and vote bank politics. I would say religion can used to promote peace and way of living but that shouldn't be considered while voting and electing leaders. Else country would never foster growth.
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What cryptocur investment would you recommend a beginner for a a start up stage? on: March 17, 2024, 10:57:25 AM
First of all I would never advise beginner to go with altcoin investment rather I would suggest them to go with Bitcoin investment because we are all aware altcoins are highly volatile and if the new person and the during bearish market they would never be able to recover the investment in Altcoin but Bitcoin has ability to pump up.

Moreover only with Bitcoin they will be able to learn more about crypto because of they are introduced to Altcoins they would think it's just a pump and dump game. If it's mandatory to suggest only Altcoins then I would suggest Ethereum which is the second most trusted crypto currency IMO.
458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jamie Dimon Compares Bitcoin to Smoking on: March 17, 2024, 10:42:14 AM
Who care about his statement and no one gives a damn about any statement given by these sore loser bankers, he has always been against Bitcoin and don't forget he is a capitalist banker with sadistic mindset that no one should get rich expect them so these words coming out of his mouth doesn't make any sense and Bitcoin has been in existence for over decade now.
459  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can we see BTC at ATH before the year ends? on: March 17, 2024, 10:20:46 AM
Bitcoin hit the value of previously created ATH this year and has created new ATH which is a good news for all investors but after creation of ATH bitcoin has made the people sad due to sudden dump to 66k$. I wish after reaching to 100k$ it persist for longer time so that's why people can take profit from it. If bitcoin again reach to recently created ATH then I think 100k$ of achievement is possible. The major effect on Bitcoin's price will be only due to halving so wait for halving to occurs and we will see that how successful bitcoin has become.

I think this is a usually correction I won't ay major correction but a minor market correction which is happening and we have seen this when Bitcoin hit $40k as well as $48k and when it crossed $50k as well as when it was approaching $70k so I don't think we need to worry about it until Bitcoin drops down it's $60k support which is still strong. Let's wait for some more days and see instead of making hasty decisions because I think it will bounce back again.
460  Other / Politics & Society / Corrupt leaders are made foolish people. on: March 17, 2024, 10:05:59 AM
We have often seen how leaders who got into power because of backing from their tribe, sect or regional and ethnicities are the most corrupt ones because they knows that their people will vote for them regardless they do any good work or not. Look at African nations and even some Arab nations the reason why they are going through corruption and suffering is because people don't vote based on merit rather on personal relationship like sect, ethnicity or religion and then there comes countries like India and Pakistan where they win based on vote from majority community by instilling fear that minorities gonna rule them if not votes to power and next five years everyone suffers.

I would hold people accountable for being in an creating a corrupt leaders rather than the leaders themself.
