Now every team gets too careful and all the matches will be slower with fewer chances created. I expect more draws but there should also be surprise victories, More difficult to pick out.

The 90 minutes score is also going to be determined by the fact that there is the possibility of extra time.

Sock puppet accounts that have so far been created to make fake feedback in this thread. To be tagged later
Reporting them to be nuked is much better than simply tagging them. That way, their posts are all deleted along with the accounts being restricted from posting.

443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a group or organization that specifically supports Bitcoin as currency? on: January 26, 2024, 08:13:39 PM
The gambling industry is one of the biggest ones which utilizes bitcoin as a currency and is constantly growing attracting more businesses and users. They do not technically promote the usage of bitcoin, but accept it for transactions on their websites.

There are then several local businesses that accept BTC as a payment option.

we are not in the solo mining days of 2009-2011...
This does not mean that the language used to describe bitcoin mining has changed and your earlier comment will be confusing to newbies reading your message.

Quote of the Year.

Winning all domestic titles, playing in the Champions league does not make you a Top 4 club unless Pep joins....

......Harkorede et un_rank. 2024.
I pointed out to you that City were not the best team in England  before 2013 when SAF was till in the dug out, and that is a fact. This statement is a reach.

miners dont see/touch transactions.. mining pool(managers) do... miners mine block candidates passed to them
mining pool(managers) dont mine, they validate and collate transactions into candidate blocks
This is a bit confusing, I assumed that miners and mining pools can exist independently. Miners can join pools but they can also operate independently and in that case would not need mining pools to pass off candidate blocks to them.

We mentioning Guardiola again *rubs palm*

A better coach than Pep in my opinion.
I cannot argue with your opinion, but they are worlds apart in reality. The media make it look like there is or was a rivalry between them, but 5 titles in the last 6 seasons says otherwise.

Man just disrespected Robinho, Nedredo, Yaya Toure, Edin Dzeko, Tevez, Nasri, Aguero, Barry, Joe Hart era just like that! Manchester city were already the best in England before Pep under SAF watch. Man stop it already  Grin
City only won 1 league title under SAF watch, and Ferguson won 5/7 before bowing out.

It is clear to most of us. Traffic goes where the money goes.
More commonly - Money goes where the traffic is.

If the money is what brings the traffic in it is more difficult to sustain and purely incentivized contents has its cons. This is not highlighting altcointalks or any other forum out there, Bitcointalk has been successful cause it built organic traffic which was then monetized at a sustainable rate leading to what we have today, flip the cycle and it attracts more spam than actual content.

Monster round Harkorede.

I have a question about the knockout stages, It may have been answered before but I cannot dig out any info on it. Are scores taken from 90 minutes of play or is the final scoreline after extra time (for those matches that go the full length) also considered?

450  Economy / Reputation / Re: To Leo and all who support Privacy & the original purpose of Bitcoin. Thank you on: January 25, 2024, 03:21:42 PM
One type of spam I absolutely would not mind is the forum getting filled with farewell messages for Leo, cause it is nothing less than they deserve. For almost 7 years, they contributed avidly to the growth of the forum and bitcoin, he took lots of members under his wing without really knowing it and is one of the most reliable sources of information we have.

I will still keep fingers crossed that he pulls through and returns to the forum for many more years.

Losing their top midfielders, Caicido and McAlister, is giving them a lot of trouble; they thought they'd be fine with Gilmore and Old Miner in the midfield.
They have been managing their departures well for a very long time, losing top players like Trossard, Ben White and Dan Burn, but still replacing them expertly.
This season has been completely different for them, sure Caicedo and McAlister were much more pivotal players but they should ave been able to manage it better if not for the number of matches and injuries.

Brighton supposedly are like Ajax. They can keep selling off players, reinvest and slowly build stronger but I guess academy players aren't always yet a good level, although maybe the idea is to keep developing training/systems/academies to keep producing stronger talent. It works in Football Manager but real life, you have to buy a certain amount of talent to compete with the top.
The aim is probably mid table and have a good financial sheet. The funding needed to become a top table team is a ridiculous amount that the club does not have.

Brighton is very frustrating, early seasons make you think they can go for Top 4 then they play like shit. Wolves opposite. You think they'll relegate but they win big games and then you bet on them then they also play like shit.
They are really struggling with coping with the matches this season. Luckily there are still a couple of matches to be played in the league before they join the Europa league qualifications, so they could build some momentum in the league.

I never really thought they were top 4 material.

453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are newbies afraid to comment on threads of highly ranked members? on: January 24, 2024, 08:17:53 PM
During my forum journey, I was not at any point afraid to join discussions started by higher ranked members. I was more hesitant to join those started by newbies like me, cause any false information would easily confuse them and they would not be able to make out which is credible and which is not.

This in-fact is my biggest fear when joining any discussion - giving wrong information. So when I have limited data on the subject of discussion, I do not contribute to the conversation.

454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🌍⚽Sportsbet.io AFCON 2024 prediction pool discussion thread on: January 24, 2024, 08:06:16 PM
No. AFCON becomes more exciting from the round of 16, when knocked-out fans will have to support their neighbouring teams, while Arab fans remain behind to support their Arab countries. The Ivorian will stick behind to support their French-speaking brothers. Ghana brothers will stay back to support any team against Nigeria.  Grin
I guess that is every country tournament that exists. I notice it mostly at World cup where nations bond together to support neighboring countries. When it comes to continental countries, closer nations mostly banter each other rather than support themselves, same way local derbies are very keenly contested more than regular matches.

Good thing is that we are getting to the business end of the competition.

...
My fear is that with the hosts going out, the attendance to matches which were already low would drop significantly. Citizens would no longer be motivated to go to the games and there may not be enough traveling fans to fill the grounds.

my connections in Africa worked well on that one Smiley
We will need to discuss a deal to share your intel

456  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is signature campaign all about on: January 22, 2024, 08:26:16 PM
I opened the services I saw some mangers advertising some sites to work on .
The services section is where members can advertise the services they offer and roles they are looking to fill. This could be any skill or service you have that is of demand.

Signature campaigns are gigs businesses advertise through campaign managers. They are looking for promotion on the forum and achieve that by having their brands on display in signatures of regular posters. It commonly also includes the avatar space and sometimes personal text.

Ivory Coast really have the work cut out for them now. It would be very disappointing if the hosts go out in the group stages of the tournament. Although even with a loss, they could still qualify among the top 4 third placed side, but would still be disappointing for the tournament hosts.

Just to write who's missing: Trent, Robbo, Tsimikas, Matip, Szoboszlai, Endo, Thiago, Salah. That's 5 first team players.
Robertson in particular will be a big addition to the side. He has been missing for a very long time, laving a huge gap in the left hand side 9which Gomez has filled decently, I must add). I am not certain Thiago makes it into the current Liverpool midfield, especially if Szobozslai returns, but that is a good headache for any manager to have.

Fabrizio is currently discussing the Super league[1]. Who is following that?

If you ask for clarification after some time, other member (including the one who left feedback) may ask why you didn't ask for clarification immediately. I saw it happened on reputation board few times.
Anyone who weighs the appeals to feedbacks they leave based on how quickly the appeal comes should not be on DT, and you should not have to bother about their feedbacks at all.

I was thinking something similar to what suchmoon just wrote.

Posts, and merits are different actions to trust feedbacks and trust list. Also whoever is creating such a tracker will need access to the user's trust list to determine which feedbacks to show them and which not too. It will be a pain to those members that gets lots of retaliatory feedbacks to be notified of them constantly even if the senders are not on their trust list.
