In general, we can speculate endlessly about the position of the teams in the table, but I think the denouement will be literally at the very end of the season because of its tension. Most likely, the teams will be very close to each other. In general I would like Liverpool to finally win the Premier League, but whether they will be able to withstand the whole season I don't know

I agree with you that this season’s title will be tightly contested between the current top 4 teams as well as other qualification places and also the relegation battle will be close too. First is I don’t want City winning the league again because they haven’t been any team that has done a straight Quadruple of the league and I will want it to be so. The next pick is Liverpool, last season they were bad but right now they seem to be back even though they lack some form of depth in their squad they are the only person who can mount a real tittle challenge against city, although I still don’t want them to lift it too but prefer Arsenal due to the struggles they did face last season, Although this year they seem to be lacking in ability than even the last season when they pushed for the title but I still prefer them.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin fees and how we accept its volatility on: January 04, 2024, 09:24:09 PM
Very nice, so what happened to make the fees go down?
Anyway good chance I hope the fees stay this low for a long time, I have postponed all my transactions and it looks like I will get them done before the fees go up again.

The fees reduce because the congestion in the mempool has actually reduced. Looking at some of the few past blocks mined I didn’t see smaller transaction amounts like dust amounts which signifies that the ordinals and inscriptions users that have been disturbing us have reduce their mass transaction for now. Probably everything is going to be this way again until maybe after halving before we start seeing movement again because I believe they have just stopped to hodl for the future bull run after that we will see their transactions again.

greetings to all friends, last December was a pretty bad month for all bitcoin users and also those who actively transact with bitcoin because bitcoin fees were really suffocating, even the highest fee i saw reached $20, this caused a lot of topics to be discussed. discussing this phenomenon,

I don’t think it was actually everyone that hated the high transaction fee, at least not the miners, they enjoyed every bit of it if I am being honest because if you look at the transaction fees of last month it’s total for a block is more than the block subsidy itself. I don’t think miners didn’t enjoy it

444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 03, 2024, 10:02:08 PM

Arsenal are Already out of the title chase if you check it out well because their squad can’t compare to Liverpool and Manchester City’s as they could falter, well things could go better if they make some major signings and then get back their form so well, if not what happened the previous season could end up reoccuring again.

Arsenal out of the Tittle race already? I would say no because this season title race isn’t just a 2 team horse race. Arsenal are just five points off Liverpool on top of the table and high simply means that they can perfectly turn around the table. Manchester might seem to have the likes of kelvin De Bruyne back and also the return of Halaand but I don’t see them in super hot form like they were last season because they are bound to have fatigue to set in most especially to players like Rodri who hardly get rotated. Last season Manchester city had a its squad filled with great players that could make a difference from the substitute bench but this season they don’t. Liverpool had always been my picked to actually compete with Manchester City for the title and they are seriously doing it well. Arsenal needs a striker and going for Ivan Toney who to me doesn’t seem ready now even if he returns from the ban before he could get back to form might be too late. As for Aston Villa I don’t seriously count them as title contenders this season but a potential top four finishers.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 03, 2024, 09:44:07 PM

Ten Hag was the first to scare away Ronaldo from a club. Now I have no idea whether negotiations were already going on and Ronaldo forced the argument between and the club himself or whether the transfer to Saudi Arabia was a consequence of the problems he had with ten Hag. But what ever the issues really were behind the scenes, ten Hag is scaring away player after player and he also has the ability to make players rather worse than better. He is the exact opposite of what coaches are supposed to be able to do in regards to player mentality.

Here we go again with this Ronaldo and Ten Hag saga again, both Ronaldo and the coach had issues and then Ronaldo had an interview that expose the club which lead to him getting his contract terminated which to me I don’t necessarily see it as Ten Hag’s fault but the club. As for Jordan Sancho I don’t blame Ten Hag for banishing him seriously because if a player thinks he is bigger than the club then the player needs to find another club which can contain him. How can everybody in the club including your colleagues or teammates be begging you to reconcile but you think you’re bigger than that, that’s ego to me. This is not the first time that Sancho will be involved in coming late to the training because even Pep had same problems with him before he got sold to Dortmund. The same Dortmund club had fined him before for same lack of punctuality. To me both him and United are better off without each other. He is a top talent but hasn’t picked at United.

I don’t see United making any new signings this January as they are under FFP crises because any wrong spending will result into ban. For now they are just actual looking at extending contracts of the current players and probably looking for loan deals for academy graduates to get more minutes.
446  Economy / Speculation / Re: BitcoinETF approval will possibly cause much bigger jump than most people expect on: January 03, 2024, 09:16:55 PM
I hope people are not expecting too much about this upcoming event, if in case this one goes thru.
Because being conservative won't give you too much trouble if your target price won't actually be realized.
But do remember, with or without ETF, the adoption is ongoing and further growing in numbers.
So should not be very reliant on this event whether you will invest on this market or not.

Seriously the expectations around this ETF of a thing is definitely getting out of hand there are people that think like if it doesn’t get approved the market will face a heavy crash. This ETF saga is even turning to something that the whales are even using to manipulate the market this days. Either they give fake news about it getting approved or same about it getting rejected. The ETF isn’t going to change the adoption rate of bitcoin and neither it’s price increase but will just be a catalyst to increase the pace of both been done. Hodl on to the bag till you see the real bull run or set a price tag and then take profit when that target is reached.
447  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is just happened on the Bitcoin Market? on: January 03, 2024, 02:11:27 PM

Many people were looking at the market move as if the bull run had already begun, and some already predicted the next jump to be $48,000 to $50,000 before the end of the week, but now the price is dipping, which is not a surprise to me. Before the end of the day, we might even see it at $39,000 or below, but that's also going to be temporary as it will take a revert, but in a gradual process this time.

People predicting the rise of bitcoin price where actual doing it on the cause that the bitcoin ETF will be approved as such many people bought for a short time since it was believed that an approval would cause the bitcoin to do a mini bull run but Due to FOMO which we have already been seeing by the fake news of its approval getting the price to pump. Now a denial or postponement is rumored it is not a big surprise that we hit such dip in few hours time. If the news even comes out true self then the price will break the $40000 mark and will be in fluctuation throughout this month. It’s time to accumulate more before the real bull run arrives though
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 02, 2024, 10:56:24 PM
At Real Madrid, they have a strong liking for Xabi Alonso's potential as a head coach, and they believe that sooner or later, he will take on the role at Real Madrid. Recently, Real Madrid extended Ancelotti's contract until 2026. It will be delayed Xabi will leave his current club for Madrid before 2026. Summing up the substantial timeframe, he might consider moving to one of his former clubs during this period. Anything is possible, and Xabi Alonso has certainly earned the opportunity to work with a top team as a head coach.

Seriously I was one of those anticipating a Xabi Alonso and Real Madrid reunion because I didn’t see this Ancelloti’s contract extension as a possibility with the news surrounding then that he had agree with Brazil on being their next head coach now a renewal till 2026. This year is a bit far to me because that’s like two full season again and with Alonso potential and what he is displaying at Bayer Leverkusen then it will be hard that there wouldn’t be a offer from another club then. His past three clubs that are his dream to coach are not actually needing his services at the moment. Liverpool seems too comfortable with Juergen Klopp and If he even wins the league now again then a new contract extension will be handed over to him. The only past club he could coach is the Bayern Munich because since Tuchel arrival, the club hasn’t stand on the position that they want and a turn of fortune mostly will mean he could lose his Job and they sign Alonso.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 02, 2024, 10:43:35 PM
Don't be surprised that is how it has always been with average teams, most times whenever they meet big clubs they always try to put out their best because they believe they have bigger views because a lot of persons will be streaming the match, much eyes will be on them to either criticize or see the outcome of the match so they put in their best, but when they meet their peers, teams that are of the same average level with them, they don't bring out the best in them, they try to possibly feel a bit relax, so either they end up being beaten or the game will end up draw.

It is not all about football itself it is about teams and how they fair against each other, to be honest WestHam United are currently in the same stands with the likes of Brighton and matches like this you don’t expect any team to win. Brighton in their last 10 head to head matches with WestHam had actually had more wins (3) than WestHam has (1), the meeting between this two has Actually been a meeting that mostly ends in a draw, although not usually a goalless draw because this fixture always provides goals. A goal less draw today showed how tightening each team set up their defense today.

450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many individual holders of Bitcoin are there? on: January 02, 2024, 10:21:32 PM
106 million the number a found on this website
https://buybitcoinworldwide.com/how-many-bitcoin-users/

This numbers or figures are definitely misleading because how can the site know the number of bitcoin owners when most bitcoiners are anonymous and have multiple addresses. There is the case of address reuse where one wallet can have multiple number of addresses and have bitcoin on them without actually linking them together, how does this site do it?. It is definitely wrong figures to me. All Bitcoin users can never be known due to the privacy that bitcoin provides.
451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: ask a reputable large mini-pool to include a transaction in block on: January 02, 2024, 10:12:01 PM
I don’t think there is any way to actually hide your bitcoin public key because it is needed by nodes to verify your bitcoin transactions, this details aren’t known only to the mining pool including your transactions into their block but to all mining nodes for verification. Even if you think you had atually hide the public key I think it will still be easily derived from the transaction signature. So there is absolutely nothing wrong in revealing the public key.

As for looking to have mining pool specifically including your transaction into their block then it is possible you can visit there site as they have paid services but for this particular work you want them to do I don’t think they can
452  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Kickstart January in style on: January 02, 2024, 09:56:15 PM
I heard of a speculation in the past that if spot Bitcoin ETF gets approved, we could witness a bull run two times. One before the halving if Bitcoin ETF gets approved and the other one will come after the halving as it normally does after every halving cycle. I’m very much optimistic about this speculation and if the spot Bitcoin ETF gets approved, that should be expected to trigger the market a lot before the halving event takes place.

Yes we are definitely going to see a little pump between now and second quarter of the year which bitcoin halving will take place but this wouldn’t be regarded as a bull run because not much of a pump will happen. We might even see a price drop if the ETF is even postponed or not approved, although all indications suggest it wouldn’t be disapproved. Nonetheless my focus on just anything that happens is that the real bull run will happen some months after the bitcoin halving in April.

The pump that will happen after ETF approval will just be as a result of hype and that wouldn’t last so my bull run remains after halving
453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 01, 2024, 09:09:46 PM

I kind of wonder why most of us are disregarding Aston Villa this very season and at this point in the league seeing how incredible their performance has been so far this season, and they have been consistent in their games, I think is time we begin to consider their position in the league, let's face the reality with what is happening in the league, Arsenal has slipped down to the 4th position in the table and Aston Villa is the closest club right now after Liverpool, and it's also possible we might see them top the table having them close point with Liverpool and if Liverpool won their game tonight it will only fall back to being 3 points gaps.

Aston Villa have actually been a very strong team not just this season but throughout Emery’s tenure so far, I saw a chart earlier today showing stats of the clubs that have collected most points in 2023 across all the top five leagues and Aston Villa was included with over 80 total points, this signifies how they have risen above the other mid table teams and in the league of heavy weights. But still with all this I don’t see them throwing out a big title challenge because with the squad they have although not quite bad they will need the depth of that squad more and most importantly players with a lots of experience, the second half of the season is very demanding and we saw how a weak squad depth could have its impact on the title challenge when Arsenal were on top and failed to win it due to injuries. Although I will still predict A top four finish for them ahead of the traditional top 6.
454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: January 01, 2024, 08:50:09 PM

Alcantara contract will end in June 2024 or at the end of the season, if Barcelona wants his services they will have to spend a certain amount of money to recruit him in January, the loan option is another solution, which makes sense considering the financial crisis currently hitting the club. Another possibility is the SPL, I think there Alcantara will play more relaxed, because the league is not that competitive yet, if Liverpool management pushes him to the SPL then they will get big profits.

Al cantata is still skilled to play at the top even at his age but the problem has always been that his Liverpool days have mainly been filled with injuries, he is a Barcelona kind of players and would suit right Into their pattern of play, but Thiago is already 30 although that doesn’t matters much, he is an injury prone player although this can change if he switches clubs but Barcelona at the moment do not require some like him because they already have a long list of injured players that needs replacement or needs ditching so I don’t fancy this signing at all for Barcelona at moment, the risk is just to high to take.

He is a young player. I thought Chelsea could have done better with him. If Chelsea could actually make this player useful, I think he could have done a lot for Chelsea. But the thing is probably Chelsea does not think he is going to be suitable for the long-term plan as you said. And another thing is, Chelsea has been making a lot of weird decisions in recent times. I just hope that this decision does not backfire. Chelsea has not been doing well recently. I think Chelsea could have kept him around and later made him useful.

Personally I feel this would be a costly mistake should Chelsea sell off Gallagher to any club. Last transfer window they actually wanted to sell him off to AC Milan and the deal fell off, i thought that was a very good deal called off. He is there best player throughout this season and also a leader who to me shouldn’t be sold. Last season they lost some experience players and we can all see how it is affecting them this season. Gallagher has stood in as a captain and he has been outstanding to me
456  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 30, 2023, 06:32:37 PM

@PokerDiceMan you think Alvarez is not a first-class striker? He is a very good center forward who is good enough to cover for Haaland. When Haaland was injured, Kevin De Bruyne was also injured and they had problems in the creativity part of the game. Kevin De Bruyne came and fixed it. And we cannot say they struggled against Sheffield United. They have taken a total of 18 shots.

I think Manchester City’s most key and valuable player right now is Rodri. Just look at the stats for this season, when he was available, Manchester City barely dropped any points. But when he was not available, Manchester City had dropped points here and there. Manchester City right now looks far away from the title right now. But if teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Aston Villa keep drawing and losing matches like they did recently, Manchester City has a chance. Arsenal lost against West Ham yesterday, Liverpool drew against Arsenal and Aston Villa lost against Manchester United. So we can say Manchester City still has a chance for that title but the chances are slim. Haaland needs to return to the squad as quickly as possible.

I have to agree with you that Manchester city most important player is Rodri, but I will equally place De Bruyne there two, this two combine are what Manchester city have been lacking all season. Pep actually went out to buy players that can at least play that Rodri position but sincerely none of the signings have his capabilities. He can play as a lone defensive midfielder, can play a double pivot too but the other two new midfielders can’t be a lone defensive midfielder, that’s why city suffer more when Rodri isn’t available. As for De Bruyne it is showing too much this season how over important he is to Manchester City and Pep because Gundogan who always fills that empty space for him isn’t there anymore.

Julian Alvarez to me is only behind Halaand in some of the striker qualities like physical battle or aerial battles but the rest he is definitely on par with Halaand. He is even better with the ball at his feet and can create chances too when not scoring. If we are to ask about a complete player then he edges Halaand to me
457  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Can I Pay Lower Bitcoin Transaction Fee and Not Get Stuck? on: December 30, 2023, 01:58:50 PM

Quote
2. How do I circumvent high fees?
I use Altcoins where I can and if I must use BTC, I pay the amount for 18 Sat/VB and use ViaBTC to accelerate the transaction for free.

I wanted to suggest set the fee low but to meet the requirements of the viabtc service for free transfer but right now that’s not possible because the hourly slot for free service is said to have been hijacked by bots and it will be hard to get a transaction accelerated using Viabtc free service.

speaking for myself.
i don't know how to use securely.
does bitcoin core supports it?
what opening a channel means?
do i need to have another wallet?
what means paying an invoice? (seen it from kraken, which allows withdrawal via LN).

This is simply saying you don’t have knowledge about LN. here is a comprehensive list of threads for LN network by Pmalek

Also this is how to set up a LN using electrum wallet https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5259973.0

Do not let the same thing happen to you before you know the importance of having a hardware wallet, I have always known that hardware wallet is the safest but I ignored it,

Don’t get me wrong but I wouldn’t say hardware wallets are actually the safest or most secure way to save your bitcoins but rather I will broaden it as cold or offline storage is the best. Other offline storage can be the use of software wallets like electrum been set up in an airgapped device with it never coming online or interacting with the internet. This method seems more secure to some people than even hardware wallets.

but i never got hacked, you can provide the reasons which maybe got you hacked so we can learn from your mistake, like what you had done before losing your crypto, and things like that.
also it seems big amount for a hardware wallet but its important to buy one if we need to hold for long term, maybe our $100 bitcoin be worth $500 after sometime.

OP got his private keys exposed which is one area we neglect mostly. It is the side effect of using a software wallet but also people using hardware wallets they neglect the importance of keeping it safe. Not all wallets attacks are through interacting with the internet some could be a physical attack like someone stealing your private key or seed phrase. That’s why even if you’re using a hardware wallet it is important to also keep save the private keys or seed phrase
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 30, 2023, 04:08:36 AM

That is one way to look at things, but they were still up against Manchester City last season. They aren't playing bad, but obviously that is not enough to win the EPL trophy. You need a close to perfect season to win it and the one team that was mostly capable of playing a perfect season was Manchester City. It's hard to beat them. And now Manchester City has their own issues and see there are immediately several teams going for them and their top position. But the season is still long and a lot of things can happen.

It all bows than to one thing which is lack of squad depth. Arsenal continues to play the same players week in week out, not that the players might get exhausted or say Fatigue might set in, also a similar team every match day makes your tactics easily dictated by opposition mangers. Manchester city have such large squad that they can afford to change a whole first team and still name a great eleven again. This season if you look at Manchester city also they do not have such squad anymore and you can easily see how they have been struggling to control the game when injuries to players like Debruyne and Rodri has has affected them too.

This season league is still way too open that I think Arsenal can still do a thing if they add new players to the team as I believe Manchester city will be too relax this season and won’t mount a vey hard title challenge
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 29, 2023, 11:01:26 PM
We will definitely see how the second half of the season goes for Borrussia Dortmund who re also struggling this very season. Stuggart are just good because of a single person pushing them forward. Liepzig off course has more than a single person who knows how to play and push the squad and his teammates forward. They're trying to move at them own speed if you ask me. Liepzig don't just have Openda bit also Xavi Simons the brilliant young midfielder.

I don't rate them too much and higher because they had a golden opportunity but couldn't make good use of the chances last season, they should have won the game and lifted the Bundesliga League Competition but they still be messing up around as they bottled the league completely.

Firstly i will say I find Stuttgart in a very good form and i think they will go a long way to qualify for the European competitions most likely the biggest of them which is the champions league. But do I count them as league contenders? No. Just like Freiburg and Union Berlin last season they will lose the tenacity to keep carrying on. There goals have come all between just two players which is Guirassy and Undav. With Guirassy already having admirers in the winter transfer window I will say they could lose him to any of the big clubs with also his release Clause not that much and him looking for another challenge and not signing new contract the sale might be evident.

As for Leipzig I will say I think they still are still a little bit raw to compete for the title. The team is full of young squad that need leaders because the second half of the season is always full with character challenging moments. So I am ruling them out this season.

As for Dortmund I seriously also feel they blew away the only chance to end Bayern Munich dominance last season. This season they are not still far behind because last season they actually went all the way in the second half of the season and nearly won it. Should they show same character again this season they could go all long. But my best bet is Leverkusen to challenge Bayern Munich for the title this season
