441  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The menace of Godfatherism In Nigeria politics on: April 22, 2024, 07:47:59 PM
Developed countries wey de practice true democracies, dem politicians de get political mentors, like past leaders wey don perform for dem tenure and dis new politicians go emulate dem good work. But for most underdeveloped countries like inside Africa, na political godfathers de put leaders for office and dis godfathers go like to de control who dem put for power, dis practice de for Nigerian politics well well, godfathers go put dem loyalist for position and dem go de tell di person wetin im must do, if di leader no obey im godfather again, gbege don start be dat. Dis practice of godfatherism no de good for democracy, because these godfathers na selfish interest dem get, just to use who dem put for power to de indirectly rule, and de still from dem puppet office.
442  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely ? on: April 22, 2024, 06:39:02 PM
Small transactions on bitcoin does not make any sense now at all. Like to make a $20 amount transaction, one has to pay about same amount, $20 in fees. This does not make any sense. Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely because of this reason ?
This issue of Bitcoin high transaction fees that always happens when the mempool is congested is not a good development for the adoption of Bitcoin as a digital cash, because during congestions you cannot expect to buy an item of $20 and expect to pay an equivalent amount as transaction fee, it doesn't make financial sense. This is why majority of people hold Bitcoin for investment purposes, rather than a currency to make purchases, and as it is, it'll not take over fiat as the dominant currency, unless it's developers finds a lasting solution to this reoccurring problem. Lightening network as an alternative to Bitcoin high fees has not been adopted widely because of it's complexities, according to what I hear.
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are more people getting excited about memecoins? on: April 22, 2024, 06:02:50 PM
The simple reason why I think that people get excited about memecoins is because it's a get rich quick scheme, although it's not always the case with all of them, some are scam projects from their creation. Some investors don't have the patience for long term projects like Bitcoin, where they'll have to wait for bull run before cashing ROI, they'll rather gamble their funds on the short term for quick profits, so it depends on the individuals to decide whether they're ready for the meme risks. I'm just hearing about this simsol, for the first time, I hope that it can make investors richer.
444  Economy / Economics / Re: Food shortages coming to the United Kingdom, BUT - on: April 22, 2024, 04:27:49 PM
Food is essential for the survival of human beings, even by extension all living things, without food people will go hungry and starve to death, so I wonder why developed countries like the UK will not encourage farmers to be very productive. The population of people in the UK and every other developed countries are increasing rapidly, especially with the increased numbers of migrants entering these countries, that are looking for greener pastures, food shortages will be disastrous in these countries. Although I don't know the full story of why the UK will slam unfavorable regulations on farmers, knowing the implications of food scarcity in a country, I hope for the sake of their citizens, that they resolve the issue with their farmers so that their people will not starve.
445  Economy / Speculation / Re: You have a better chance with Bitcoin now than the next minute! on: April 22, 2024, 10:32:35 AM
This is why the demand for Bitcoin continues to increase because people knows that it's a store of value and it's history has proven that it's price will continue to increase and reaching new ATH. Although the best time to accumulate more is during bear run, however even if an investor is buying in bull run, so far there's assurance of a new ATH, then they can still go ahead and buy. We need to hodle Bitcoin on a long term to be able to enjoy ROI, especially for investors that buys when price is high at any perticular time.
446  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Americans Profits from War and Terrorism on: April 22, 2024, 09:16:01 AM
Americans profit from selling weapons of war to other countries because these other countries needs American weapons to fight and defend themselves, if there's no demand for their war products, then they'll be out of business. If the US didn't start a war between countries, I think that it's very unfair to blame them for profiting in their business of manufacturing weapons, because every government allocates a chunk of their budget for weapons procurement. It's like calling the casket maker a bad name that he loves death, but they forget that he's still in business because people die everyday, and he's not the causes of their deaths.
447  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't be confused, bitcoin halving doesn't translate into bitcoin All time high on: April 22, 2024, 07:45:44 AM
It's only newbies without experience or who haven't researched on how halving works will assume that after halving, price will begin to surge and we'll see an instant ATH. This is my first halving, but I've been here for quite a while to know that from other halving experiences that we should be looking at the seeing a new ATH in approximately one year's time. Although anything is possible because from the experience of previous halvings, ATH happens after them, but we saw a new ATH before the present halving, and I won't rule any possibilities out about seeing the peak of bull run in this year.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much interest do you earn from your USDT? on: April 22, 2024, 06:50:40 AM
Can anyone help explain to me my staking and keeping the USDT in an exchange is better than just buying promising assets like Bitcoin and just waiting it out until the market pumps. I do have some friend who even lost money trying to stake on platforms that filed for bankruptcy during the bear market, like Celsius network.
What you said makes common sense, because I think too that the best place to earn profit or interest in this road to bull run is in an asset like Bitcoin, you hodl it and in one year's time you're getting a good ROI, after the bull run, then you can consider staking it on a reputable stablecoin. In the crypto space, it's mainly Bitcoin that I can leave my money in and feel very comfortable, if I however want to choose an exchange to stake usdt, I'll be more comfortable with Binance, because it's a reputable exchange.
449  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Reason why some pipo run do fraud. on: April 21, 2024, 03:52:06 PM
People no de teach odas wetin dem know na im make we Africans no de move forward, our forefathers dem wey sabi better medicine to take cure many sicknesses and to perform wonders, some of dem de so selfish wey dem go die with all dos powers and skills without teaching anybody. E de good to teach people wey get genuine interest to learn, even if dem no get money to pay to learn, because you don reduce poverty as you help di person, tomorrow, himself fit to help anoda person and poverty and dependants go de reduce.

Anybody wey enter yahoo or arm robbery because of poverty or im no get helper, make you know say criminality don de for im blood before, e get people wey de for di same situation but criminality no be option for dem. I don see youths from rich homes wey de into yahoo scams, abi na poverty cause dem own? Life na choice, so we de responsible for all of our actions.
450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's in For Altcoins after the Halving? on: April 21, 2024, 02:46:55 PM
It has been a good ride for Bitcoin before then halving and now that it is done with, the momentum seems to have gone down, and as we all know, after the Bitcoin Rally, altcoins react to it. Do you think the rally of altcoins will start now or we should continue with our trades like nothing happened?
After the halving, we're expecting Bitcoin to rally first, and it's not going to happen overnight, we're looking at some months before Bitcoin will actually start to be bullish, so altcoins rallying will have to come after Bitcoin. This means that as it is now, we're focusing on Bitcoin to lead the way for altcoins to be bullish, I know that in due time top altcoins will be rallying to new ATH, hopefully all this will happen by the end of this year or in the first quarter of next year, so keep buying your trusted altcoins.
451  Economy / Economics / Re: It's better to invest now than to regret it in a hospital bed. on: April 21, 2024, 01:34:18 PM
Bitcoin investment is very important to secure ones future in old age, because it's a store of value and from experience since it's creation, it's price has continued to increase, which we hope will continue to be so. Therefore an investor can continue doing DCA method till their retirement, at which time, it'll have accrued massive ROI that can comfortably sustain the investor, and their inheritors can continue to enjoy their wealth.

Having the knowledge of Bitcoin investment and it's advantages is not enough, an individual needs to have the money to invest, a person needs to have money that'll carter for their basic needs first before talking about Bitcoin investment. So it's important for a young individual to get a second job or learn a skill to be able to make extra money for investment.
452  Economy / Economics / Re: Which country proposed the establishment of BRICS? on: April 21, 2024, 12:47:02 PM
The country that will be the first to propose the formation of BRICS would be China, probably seconded by Russia, this two world powers are in the forefront to dethrone the US dollar as the dominant recognized currency in the world. China, with their advancements in technology and being a leading industrialized country, that exports it's products to the rest of the world will not want it's competitor's currency, US dollar to be the medium of it's exchange. So the BRICS formation should be primarily to reduce the influence and dominance of the US dollar in international trades, we'll just have to watch and see how it materializes.
453  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why has bitcoin prices not increased just after halving ? on: April 21, 2024, 09:44:41 AM
I suggested some friends to invest before and they are blaming me for the suggestion. I told them to wait for final effect as it can take some days for effect on prices but they are impatient.
Did you not tell them about the (short term) risks also? Someone that is not patient can not hold bitcoin. Know that it can take months before the price will start to increase to the extent that we can call it bull run.
Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme, it requires buy, hudl and wait patiently for the right price to sale, that is why it's better as a long term investment, so you'll not have the mindset of overnight price pump. This is my first halving, and from my research of previous halvings, price pump doesn't start immediately after it, it'll normally take months before we'll begin to see it, and that'll be the bull run. I guess the OP didn't research well before making promises of price pump after halving, to his friends, I guess he has to do the needful by letting them to understand how halving and price works.
454  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Resurrection Of ISIS on: April 21, 2024, 08:26:28 AM
With much of international attention gripped by the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip, Russia and ukraine war, the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) has been steadily ramping up operations across continents and setting the stage for a resurgence of global mayhem.

https://www.newsweek.com/gaza-attention-isis-global-comeback-1882346
This is clearly a bad news, I didn't hear this news about evil ISIS unleashing their terror in a concert in Russia, this is a bold step for them to strike in Russia. I guess that it'll not be that easy to totally crush them because they sponsor terrorist groups in different countries, like in the northern part of Nigeria, where innocent citizens are being senselessly killed like chickens. I think that one of the ways to checkmate ISIS is to continually monitor how they fund terrorism in these countries and prosecute their financiers, because without money, they can't purchase arms and ammunition, including other logistics to carry out their evil acts.
455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where best to enjoy this forum... on: April 21, 2024, 07:29:21 AM
I think that when it comes to convenience and clearer images, the computer is more preferable than the mobile phones, with a computer you can relax and engage in the forum activities business-like, than with a mobile phone. I however use a mobile phone, because I don't have the luxury of sitting down during the day to navigate the forum, I can move around anywhere anytime and easily bring out my phone and brows through. So a mobile phone is better for me because of easy accessibility to the internet anywhere that I am, so far there's internet connection in the location.
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is DaddyDoge (DD) Worth Investing In? Let's Debate its Potential to Reach $1.00 on: April 21, 2024, 06:53:28 AM
In such investments, do not focus on the investment reaching one dollar, especially with the large offer, as Doge did not reach one dollar, and it is impossible for DaddyDoge (DD) to reach that price, so make the investment short-term and focus on making profits from the change in price by a certain percentage.
Generally memecoins are risky and investors should understand that they're gambling their funds when buying then, because despite your research, the project can still end up a shitcoin, so if you're bullish with any of them, just invest the amount that you can afford to loose. If the OP wants to take his chances on this DD project, then by all means it's his money, but like other members on this thread, I don't think that it'll hit the $1 that the OP is being hopeful.
457  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin no be for everybody inside Nigeria on: April 20, 2024, 04:32:11 PM
When we talk about Bitcoin and it's adoption for the Nigerian space, we go understand say many people wey dey even here about Bitcoin sef na true the wrongs ways like some of my friends for which day just dey blah about cryptocurrency trading and how people dey make am especially when you trade Bitcoin, all these nonsense na watin him dey vomit without even understanding or knowing what is involved in Bitcoin trading or the cryptocurrency market as a whole base on the aspect of its volatility.
I believe say many people for Nigeria, no understand di difference between Bitcoin and altcoins, for dem mind all of dem na cryptocurrency, so if dem scam dem for one shitcoin, dem go put di blame on Bitcoin, dat na one of di reasons wey I talk say Bitcoin no be for everybody. Some people no go take time to research or ask questions about Bitcoin, dem go think say na Ponzi, or one get rich quick scheme, na so dem go ignorantly put money for one hyped scam project and dem money go vanish, in the end dem go think say every crypto coin na Bitcoin, so person supposed de enlightened, odawise Bitcoin no be for am.
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will altcoins ever cheap again? on: April 20, 2024, 03:31:15 PM
Now crypto market is growing super faster along with Bitcoin. Altcoins are become so expensive. People who keep waiting to buy altcoins with cheap price during Bitcoin halving, are disappointed cause market is still on up trend. Sometimes little dump is happening but market recovery also done so fastly. So what do you think? Will altcoins ever cheap again? Or you are buying overprice altcoins?
I don't understand your statement, I thought that Bitcoin bull season is what precedes altcoin bull season, and Bitcoin bull run has not fully kicked off, so I don't see how altcoins price is overpriced now. I believe that it's not late to start buying altcoins that you think will bull in this season, because when Bitcoin is bullish and investors are getting ROI they'll want to diversify and reinvest in altcoins, that's when the alt season will start and their prices will become high. Remember that it's not all the altcoins that are worth investing in, so carry out your own research first.
459  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy 4th Bitcoin Halving on: April 20, 2024, 02:44:55 PM
Happy 4th Bitcoin halving!

This is my first experience of halving and I feel very excited to be a part of the most anticipated event in the crypto space, infact the feeling is like counting down to new year, and suddenly it's time and it happens. I'm now looking forward to what the post halving will be like, how it'll affect Bitcoin price.
460  Economy / Economics / Re: Countries with economy power controls the world. on: April 20, 2024, 01:57:25 PM
There's no question about this, it has always been the ways of mankind, for the powerful, rich and influential to manipulate and be Lord over the poor, weak and the unintelligent, from invasion, colony to slavery and now giving aid to poor countries, while they milk all their natural resources. The problem is that the leadership of these backward economies are so corrupt that they're willing to sale their countries to the rich economies by collecting huge loans from them to enrich themselves, then their poor countries will live at the mercies of the developed countries, second slavery.
