441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does the tension make you take risk that are sometimes worth it? on: January 18, 2024, 04:23:31 AM
To be honest i find it difficult to gamble with pressure. I believe a hambler should understand when he is in the right state of mind to gamble  because gambling when we are in pressure is not advisable. I had a freind one certain time who has a pregnant wife.  At the appointed time when she was due to give birth he was out of funds but he rushed his wife to the hospital without money for hospital bills, believing he would het it later before the doctor will demand for it.

Now he borrowed some money from me which was not enough and he took some money he had to a local gambling shop to gamble. Do you know he lose all the money in gambling because he was in a situation where his mind was not stable which made him not comfortable to make good gambling predictions. The sad truth is that he taught he had gambling skills and could withstand pressure while gambling. But no one is above being under pressure even outside of gambling.
442  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 18, 2024, 04:09:46 AM

So I want to ask, between the gambling addict and his immediate family, who does the addiction affect the most?
Literally i would say it affects the gambler rhe most. Reason because it is the gambler who got addicted so the losses and consequences of not gambling responsible would be on his shoulder. His immediate family are only suffering from the feeling of being related to a gambling addict. Perhaps if the gambler is one who goes extreme mile to get money to continue gambling, like selling of properties, taking unnecessary loans then the family will be in great pain because his family will loss trust in him and wont see him like someone who can successfully lead the family.

If we compare who suffers more, then, of course, first of all we should point out the relatives of the gambling addict. The gambler himself suffers last of all. No, he certainly suffers from losses. But for a certain time he is in the land of pink ponies, in which there is always room for optimism. The gambler believes that all difficulties are temporary and that he should only wait for the big win. And then a new wonderful life will begin. Relatives, on the other hand, are more critical from the very beginning and financial problems do not add to their optimism. Any pain is easier to bear with optimism and vice versa, sadness intensifies the pain.
I totally disagree with what you've just said. You are looking at it on a different side which is the positive side of gambling why not think of the negative side. Yes, the gambler may have the opportunity to win big in the future but the odds are low. Great, if he wims big he is now rich but what if he was unlucky at the end. He will be frustrated why he did not stop gambling ever since. There are more chances that even if he won big he wont stop gambling and may also lose the money in gambling again. I have seen situation like that.

443  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: GAMBLING DISORDER on: January 17, 2024, 10:21:13 PM
Let me correct you OP, gambling companies do not involve themselves in ay spiritual stuff to get their patronizers addicted to gambling. Obviously, gambling is free to everyone, so each person that chose to gambling has their different reasons. Which ranges from get quick rich syndrome, greed and money doubling. Both rich and poor gambling and there is a genuine reason for that.
444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can be a hope restorer if we go about it wisely! on: January 17, 2024, 10:20:41 PM
Wise decision you say OP. Gambling is a risk, and do you think that so many persons believe taking risk is a wise decision? Taking risk is a terrible decision in my opinion that is why it is advisable to gamble with money we do not have a serous need for. Using your emergency fund, money for monthly expenses and investment to gamble is not a good idea. I have a different amount i keep for gambling of which i know if i lose any day i won't be depressed or be in debt.

From his voice he seems like one whose lost hope has been restored by that single win. Gambling can be a life saver too for it's not as bad as non-gamblers portrays it. To all gamblers' when you get lucky make good use of your gambling win do not chase for double portion.
Yes, not only can gambling be a hope restorer, but it has also been a life changer to many who gambled and luckily won a huge sum, because one similarity I have come to notice about all those who won this huge sum while gambling is that non ever knew they will win when they won, but it all came as a surprise, hence, this should be a lesson to all of us to always have an open mind while gambling, so as to accept whatever result that may come our way with an amount we can always afford to lose, so that if we win, we accept it that way, but if we lose, we also accept it with good fate without regret. Rather than gambling all you have with the mindset gambling will someday restore your hope.
It can only be a hope restorer with luck. I think this part is very relatable. Most of the times i get to win in gambling is when i gamble with the last penny i kept for gambling and luckily i win with some extra bucks on top. So yes, there is hope when there is money to gamble if you are out of gambling funds there is no hope.

445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 17, 2024, 03:44:04 PM
The second half of the season begins at Friday with matchday 18 and Mainz and Union Berlin will play against each other. Both teams did not win their last match. Now both have the opportunity to gain important points in the relegation battle. A 6-point game. Union Berlin have the opportunity to keep a direct opponent at distance with a win.

The defence from Mainz has improved since the new coach joined Mainz. They have noc lost a game since then, but have only won one.

Robin Gosens will be able to play again for Union Berlin. This will allow Bjelica to play his 4-2-3-1 system.

I expect a draw. 1:1
I dont agree with you that the game will end draw. This is because the both team are eager to win the match to see who might come out of the bottom. Surely it wont be an easy game since there will be difficulties to penetrate each others 18 yards box. Although Union berlin had more chances of winning the game. I am saying this because i watch their last game and noticed they had a good performance even if they were unable to win.

If Union berlin can calm down and play the game with less aggressiveness but with technicality they will ein Mainz. So the best prediction in the game by my analysis is a Union berlin to win or draw. Which is 2X in most sports betting platforms. If you think my predictions are not worth then give me more valid points to prove me wrong.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 17, 2024, 03:29:22 PM
No one who will look me in the face and tell me anything about me gambling. Gambling is a choice and i have chosen to take any responsibility that comes when gambling. I do not care about people opinion because i do not also care about what they do with their hard earned money, that is why they shouldn't be concerned about what i do with mine.

Anyone who feels that gambling is a bad habit at least it is not the only bad habits in the world. That same person who thinks negative of you because you are a gambler, even if you are addicted. That same person may be addicted to other things like womanizing, alcohol, drugs or smoking.

449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Good sportsbetting content on: January 16, 2024, 03:08:00 PM
If you are going to make content for us, it's best to post here not on Instagram or youtube and of course your audience are bettors, you know what these guys want and if they win because of your picks, they sure would love your pages.

Thats one. I personally want to read about some politics in sports like Charles Barkley shouting greed to NFL or ESPN and Disney issues.  Grin

I agree with you. What's the essence of the forum and the gambling discussion thread if you want to take your content outside of the forum. For someone like me i won't have the time to leave the forum and start watching your content on other social media. However, if your intentions are not for the forum members specifically but for your general audience you are planning to get. Then it's cool to post your content on YouTube i believe you can reach more audience over there.

And buddy don't forget to share some of those picks for us here so that we can benefit from them. If you consistently share them here, you will have enough gamblers in the forum visiting this topic from time to time. And some persons may choose to follow your social media pages as well so that they can get the information on time.
450  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: As you dey compliant for the country you follow dey make am worse? on: January 16, 2024, 02:46:59 PM
Cleanliness is next to Godliness and charity begins at home. OP, weting you talk na true, cos e no make sense say our government no they try and we as the masses no go fit do the little, we fit do to help the country better. Keeping the environment clean also contributes to the growth of the country. We all know the saying that the way we dress our bed that is how we will lie on it. This means that if we do not keep our environment clean it will also have a negative impact in our personal health.

Maybe some persons no know say dirty environment they introduce some kind of careless sickness and e they invite unnecessary animals wey go con they disturb us for our house. As, OP done talk, no be say e hard to keep the environment clean nah if we just fit put attention to all this small small things wey most people they neglect. Things like.

1. Disposing our dirt's properly
2. Avoid too much of weed for our environment.

This na two simple steps wey we fit start first. And make we no forget say we suppose no they pour some kind of water wey fit pollute the environment  for ground anyhow. The reason why they get gutter na because of those dirty stagnant water. If we get any place way dat kind stagnant water, they then make we find drainage solution to am.
451  Economy / Economics / Re: Reasons for personal financial accountability? on: January 16, 2024, 01:52:30 PM
This reminds me that i have to keep consistent record of my expenses on a daily basis.

Lol, i tried it once but it was a little difficult to always stay consistent sometimes i just forget about keeping track of it and taking note. Although i spend money on things i know i can replace back the money in a short period of time. Yeah, if i am supposed to spend about $100 this week and unconsciously i spend more than that like about $120. I will make sure i increase the level of input in my work and also add extra work time to my daily schedule so that i can meet up the extra $120 i have spent in the previous week.

Using this strategy has helped me to maintain my financial capacity. That means i won't have to hinder my plans for keeping money for emergency funds, investment and daily live expenses. Everything still falls in place at the right time.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: January 16, 2024, 12:38:53 PM
Experts, pundits and analyst based their prediction on past records and present form of the team their a
prediction is never a  guarantee of 100% sure game, I used to read Lawro predictions a former and  renowned bbcsport Analyst despite his expertise in that field yet he is not 100% accurate same with the present bbcsport Analyst Sutton I don't rely on their pick to place a bet rather I combined their analysis with other Analyst predictions and make selections, though losses are inevitable in gambling however betting with the amount of money you can afford to lose would reduce the risk while two to three consecutive wins would cover all the losses with  extra profit.

History plays a vital role in the current result of any football game. But it doesn't determine the winner of the game. When two teams are in the pitch, lots of things changes. And the players need to adjust based on the strategies of their opponent, if it's not what they expected. A team can change its formation in pitch, it's not against the rule of football. They can decide to go all attack, thereby destabilizing the formation and tactics of their opponent, and leaving them to defend. So, these change of tactics and strategies, the players and coaches can't predict. It only begins to occur once the game starts. That's why the first half game is always hard to predict. People have trust that they'll be goals during the second half of the game. Because the first half can't be predicted, experts can't help it.

In a situation where a big team is scored by a small team during the first half, and the second half the smaller team decides to maintain all defense the big team may lose out in the game. The mistake of hoping on the big team to win always isn't proper, that doesn't determine good prediction. Sports is predictable, and sometimes these experts would be correct. Yet in gambling is not meant to be same for everybody who predicts games. Sometimes we lose or win. Trusting on the prediction of expert is at the risk of the gambler. And he's to take every responsibility. Whether win or lose. When a gambler begins to feel less of himself and relies on the ideas of an expert, he may not be able to control his emotions and make good prediction, when needed.

I believe i had discussed about something like this in my previous thread i created. Indeed, history is one factor that can affect the performance of a team. I don't know if some teams are bound to the ethics, rules and tradition that was laid by the founders of that team. This is because i don't see any reason why a team will continue to face continuous outcome on every season. I don't want to mention any team for now. But if we are consistent in football, we should know about what am saying.

For better understanding let me give a scenario. There are teams that would start the league season with a good performance and on the process will start performing poorly and making silly mistakes that could cause them a lot of losses which will make them drop points. I call it near success syndrome. Like whenever they are close, they end up messing things up. Obviously i feel like it is because of the foundation of which the team is built. It will take time to destroy this bad foundation.

Sincerely i wont hesitate to cash out. The amount used to stake on the screenshot you shared is quite small, now the potential winnings is huge as well as the cash out is huge as well. I wont be greedy to wait till the end. This is because the cash out amount is enough for me to stop gambling and start another life outside of gambling.

You're absolutely right Jay.
Yeah, I spoke to the nice representative about moving my coins from that piece of shit Ledger to a safer location.
It was a number that popped up on my screen so I called it right away.
A very nice, polite fellow with a strange accent answered promptly. He told me Ledgers indeed suck and to just enter my seed into the top secret field
in the extra secure browser link they sent me. And they would secure my coins so I would never have to worry about
losing them to nefarious characters on the internet ever again. Phew! What a relief!

457  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 15, 2024, 03:06:20 PM
Of course Kevin De Bruyne's return has really rejuvenated the winning spirit of Manchester city, he is one guy with so much potential to still offer, i was even thinking because of the lengthy period he has been out of play, it will take him a long time to blend into the team but i was wrong, he game into the team and continued his master stroke performance.
By the time Erling haaland returns from his injury, then with the presence of De Bruyne, Manchester city will be unstoppable. De Bruyne always feed the frontliners with passes and assist, especially now that Manchester city doesn't have a standing striker, and if the frontliners they don't score, De Bruyne himself will make attempt to score.
De Bruyne is an extension of Pep Guardiola strategy on the field, his skills are a gift that is difficult to find in other players, especially in the current Manchester City squad. It is true that in the match versus Newcastle Debruyne showed that he is a player who can make a difference to the outcome of the match, so it is natural that when he is absent Pep Guardiola experiences headaches and finds it difficult to experiment. Of course we hope that De Bruyne will continue to be fit until the end of the season, to bring Manchester City consistency and compete closely with Liverpool in the hunt for trophies.

Manchester City will be solid and unshakable again if Pep Guardiola has a complete squad, if Halaand returns from injury it will be difficult to stop them in every competition. I see that Manchester City are very favorites in all competitions, even though they were a a little unstable a few weeks before, Pep Guardiola was able to fix all the shortcomings quickly and now they are back on track.
Truly it has been a long time to see an exceptional and consistent player in quality in the EPL. De Bruyne has proven to be that player with all the qualities to influence any match against all the team in the EPL since 2017. Pep Guardiola is more relief now, unlike before he has to tr so many strategies to see good outcome. Whether the game become difficult or not, whether he is losing all not. There is assurance that once De Bruyne is on the field there can be a certainty to win the match.

Obviously if Haaland returns and Doku as well return. Manchester City would be unstoppable. We will see another season where they would win the EPL or UCL again. Am optimistic though but i will be happy to see that Liverpool win the EPL and not Manchester City.

458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 13, 2024, 01:43:03 PM
Chelsea v Fulham

Chelsea — Petrovic; Gusto, Disasi, Thiago Silva, Colwill; Caicedo, Fernández; Sterling, Palmer, Gallagher(C); Broja.

Fulham — Leno; Tete, Adarabioyo, Diop, Robinson; João Palhinha, Cairney(C); Wilson, Andreas Pereira, Willian; Jiménez.

The match has kickoff
Finally, the EPL games are back. It's been a while since i watched the EPL competition.

So, my predictions on this match between Chelsea and Fulham is a draw match. This match will end up being a full time draw because it is certain that during the first half of the game would be a draw. I know it will be difficult for Chelsea to win the match unless they are unlucky. The main reason i am including this game in my bet is because there is not much game to bet in the premier league so i am taking a little risk here added with some good odd from the Manchester City match against Newcastle.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: January 13, 2024, 08:19:06 AM
I'm wondering what Arsenal will do as of this stage in the Champions League. They had a successful group stage as expected. Now I can say that they have a comfortable matchup to play against Porto as well. Because I don't believe Porto are one of the teams that can eliminate Arsenal in this tournament. Porto couldn't even beat Barcelona in the group stage. I mean that Barcelona aren't weak of course but I don't think they have played better than Arsenal at all.  Sad

Anyway I see Arsenal in the quarter finals already to tell the truth. But they had better improve their performance more as there is some decline recently.
When Arsenal was drawn against FC Porto in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, I expected Arsenal to win against FC Porto but with the recent performance of Arsenal, I'm not sure if Arsenal could be able to beat FC Porto. If FC Porto can play well in their home, I believe they will beat Arsenal.

I don’t think Arsenal recent decline in performance will be replicated in the champions league. The champions league is a different game to the premier league that they’re underperforming now. With the team they’ve been matched up with, their confidence level will improve and they will try everything possible to win in this match. FC Porto are not a very tough term but they are not also a weak team that can easily be beaten in the champions league. For Arsenal to win this match, I expect them to put more efforts into the match and not play the way they’re playing currently in the premier league. I also see Arsenal in the quarter finals already, because despite their decline in performance, they should be able to pass through FC Porto either the easy or hard way.
In fact, this is an unequal battle, but Porto will not give up. Porto will fight with everything it has.
But Arsenal have fallen heavily over Christmas so far, taking just 1 point in the last 3 Premier League rounds and having just been eliminated from the FA Cup by Liverpool. Arsenal is still a strong opponent, but Mikel Arteta's decisions often cause the team to fall into a "self-destructive" position. With the current situation. Mikel Arteta must increase staff after the record summer transfer spending in the club's history. I think Arsenal is lacking a class striker in the squad. I really want them to sign Brentford's Ivan Toney or Napoli's Victor Osimhen. And they need quality players on the bench who can make a difference.
The reason why Arsenal has fallen during Christmas was because they have been maintaining the same pattern of play for a long time which made them very predictable. Now the coach would have a different pattern to execute in the field but there are no subsequent players to use in playing them. Most of their players are on injuries. I could remember Timber, Partey, Tomiyasu, Viera and some other players were on injury quite some period. Although i heard rumours that most of them are back and are ready to play in the competitions.
460  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 13, 2024, 07:45:22 AM
It sounds like you are misreading what I said.. and that is on you,.  I stick by my original comments, which are largely responding to Wind_FURY's various somewhat seemingly ongoing and persistent (subtle and sometimes not) arguments against DCA and seeming attempts to suggest that there is some kind of objective best in regards to waiting and buying on dips or also dumbedly trying to suggest, as you seem to be doing Publictalk792 that whatever BTC accumulation choices are made are all relative and blah blah blah bullshit.
I'm sorry if I didn't say what you wanted to hear. There are different ways to invest in Bitcoin. Some people like to use DCA which is a safe and steady way to invest. Other people might choose different methods based on their own research and how much risk they're comfortable with. The best investment strategy is different for everyone and depends on what they like and what their situation is.
I bold the word can be because this is according to risk. If you ask  me I will also say that the best strategy is DCA but I was saying it for those who think differently who think according to their minds. Some of them are greedy some take higher risks.
Buddy, you don't have to say what he wanted to hear. Respectively, are you posting intentionally for him? He understood that you misread his reply to @Wind_Fury perhaps you should read again and get better understanding in case of next time.

Although you are right about the choices of investment. Our investment equity is different, some persons have enough money to go into different Bitcoin investment strategy irrespective of their consistency in DCA since 70% of investors DCA. But few persons manage their risk by only dacing with the little money they earn from their monthly income. While some gamble as well with that little money they have. I believe any decision an investor made he is ready to take responsibly of the outcome.

The fear of making decision on investment is something that affect most Bitcoin investors and people who want to go into investment newly. They imagine making wrong decisions and that is why most of them prefer giving their finances to companies that allows Bitcoin investment just like the BlackRock Bitcoin ETF. So that they bother about making decisions or about making investment plans. These set of persons just wat to invest without bothering about the risk and procedures of growing the investment.
