It looks like an old problem with the auto-split has not yet been solved. At some point (I have not yet figured out in what principle it happens) wallet stops to auto-split blocks, but vice versa - collects all blocks in one big block. All the small blocks in my wallet again formed one large block. If this happens with all wallets, it explains the current blocks delay.

We need to add ''splitthreshold'' command just like TruckCoin has. I think noise23(TRK Dev) can help with that, as he helped with a TekCoin wallet.

Yes, I would say that is a good option. He fixed TEK so hopefully he can/will do the same for FireCoin. Has anyone contacted him or shall I?

No contact has been made yet, which I agree that FIRE is in need of many improvements & that would be a great start.

Been offline for the last week or so, well not offline & just didn't have a build up 24/7. Will see if I can get the FIRE chain moving again, but we really need more nodes for such a small supply & only a small amount still helping the network (a big % haven't been opened since after PoW ended)...
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Any devs out with free time looking to make extra money fixing abanonded coins? on: March 29, 2015, 01:17:09 AM
About the reason to get a dead coin working again, it is just about freedom. The main reason to create Bitcoin was to get more freedom. It is the same for every other crypto-coin: more coins, more freedom. You are free to not accept it Wink .

I don't mind the new coins, but am starting to feel like it's a sky view of Sim City right now & many abandon buildings sitting around. Just wondering how long it will be before the focus of keeping new people coming into crypto sets in (or keeping the ones who have been around), seeing many skyscrapers with 1000's of abandon buildings surrounding them isn't something someone new to crytpo should see. So it would be nice if this thread did what it was posted for, cleaning up the mess that every new user sees or hears (I would offer any BBcoding). I could be wrong, maybe it will keep going with 3000, 4000, & 5000+ coins. Guess we'll just have to see what this year brings us, but sooner or later the abandon town scenario will have to play out Wink
444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have Bitcoins helped to improve your life? on: March 28, 2015, 12:18:28 PM
Yes, seeing that bitcoin was created for more than just the concept of money & really opening a door into the world of software knowledge. Maybe a thread with "things cryptography can be useful for" (might even be one or two like that already over the years), many new ideas over the last year have been realized & many lessons that can not be taught in schools or everyday life.
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Any devs out with free time looking to make extra money fixing abanonded coins? on: March 28, 2015, 11:52:47 AM
Alright, that makes sense. But to me when Bitcoin already does everything and DonationCoin is tied to Bitcoin anyway (because it can only be traded to FIAT through Bitcoin first) I don't see the benefit. DonationCoin doesn't offer any benefit over Bitcoin, quite the opposite in fact because you not just need to account for Bitcoin's volatility but also DonationCoin's own volatility. And small markets can be easily manipulated so it will likely have huge volatility on its own. And the person or company or whatever entity you're donating to also has to accept DonationCoin for it to work. Sure it's just one example of a coin but it works similarily for other coins. I think if you have a great idea or utility for a coin you're better off joinning an existing, living coin's team and help them instead.

Well... I can give you another example. You can change US dollars anywhere in the world, but this is not the case with Ugandan Shilling (Uganda's currency). That doesn't mean it's worthless. Smiley I agree with you though. My idea is to develop "something" which actually deserve and can be used. Unlike coins like MEWN, BlackDarkWhatever and such... they just deserve to die.

There is the flaw I speak of, why die & not refocus to something where the communities don't suffer from it. Sure there are many flaws in the way we use our words, but where has die/kill ever got the world. Everything has an end, but why focus on it & not make a work around of that notion? Do the ones who stumbled upon these experiments deserve to see it die, or maybe see it transformed & then maybe it's a good lesson for some. Maybe it's not a lesson of great knowledge, but a sky is falling type of wording we follow? Just thoughts on what I've seen over the years of all this, keeping it innovative & not destructive should be #1 focus?
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Any devs out with free time looking to make extra money fixing abanonded coins? on: March 28, 2015, 10:54:55 AM
If it's the tech what you want, copy it to a live and well supported coin. (IMHO wallets should get way more modular, useful features as "plugins".) No need to revive something dead.

It's not the tech I want, that has been around for years (even before bitcoin) & building with some of the testing in alts over the last year. Every time I see people talking about reviving something dead is where I see the flaw, but helping a community from great losses & then moving them to something (copy it to a live and well supported coin) is what many are trying to do Wink
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Any devs out with free time looking to make extra money fixing abanonded coins? on: March 28, 2015, 10:33:03 AM
I think dead coins are dead for a reason. Be it lack of interest or purpose or whatever. If the community didn't care enough to take it over then I don't see why others should bother. And if the community was small to begin with, chances are the coin distribution was terrible and even if you resurrect them there's always a danger of an early bagholder dumping it to oblivion. And it's not like any of the dead coins excel at something. Virtually every one of them are just generic copy-paste forks.

Just like every car is just a copy of the preceding designs, but we don't want junk laying around everywhere do we. How much do these devs make creating a junkyard full of coins, leaving many people around the world in losses & seems many people don't realize this was created for the people around the world who don't have easy access to banks or ways to feed their families (taking days to cash out on their yields = crops). Yet devs just keep building junkyards (some testing for good cause though, making sure they don't create losses along the way) & many have to clean up the mess, maybe do some good with your skills & stop the greed!! Every time that one person has great gains, 10 people have great losses & the cycle continues.
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Any devs out with free time looking to make extra money fixing abanonded coins? on: March 28, 2015, 09:49:52 AM
A dead coin should remain dead if people don't embrace the idea (if it has idea at all) behind it. This is not the way to help cryptocurrencies in general.

I would have to disagree on this one, many people only have certain skillsets & many are only investors. So if we just let all the devs that launch coins & abandon them break, many people will get a bad taste for crypto & that leaves a lasting memory for anyone they discuss crypto with... Each time a new coin is launched instead of one being repaired or rebuilt, we are just building a junkyard full of broken chains & that is not a good thing for EARTH Cool You buy a car, it breaks down, do you not get it repaired & what if no one wanted to repair it (telling you to just let it stay broken, as the junkyard takes over the environment)? You buy a house, it falls apart over the years & you move.. Do you think it's best to just let it stay in a broken state (as many don't see the damage each can cause to the surrounding communities), or fix it for the entire crypto community to see good in what is being created here?
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FIRE] FireCoin - 97K <PoW - 150K >POS - Rebuilding on: March 27, 2015, 07:12:14 PM
Thank you guys for your hard work! My congratulations with the new exchange!

I remember a time when this coin was worth hundreds of thousands satoshi. So, I'm not going to sell for now. Smiley

Just trying to help, which we really need more of to do anything for FIRE. Only so much we can do, a wallet coder & OP coder doesn't quite cut it. Not saying we're going to give up, but saying it might take time to get things going. The coin was launched & dumped, then abandoned by the original dev (+ a new team tried to help FIRE as well, but gave up). Leaving it tough to keep development going, which many developers are volunteering & unlike coins that launch with ICO/IPO/ITO/etc.. We can't do anything with the market, that has to come from the community & being a rare limit PoS coin? This would be a perfect coin to gain interest on, just need a market & it would be the same thing as having mining hardware ( - the power it takes for physical hardware).

Finally got some action on Yobit. Nice!! Looks like a floor around 1k sats so that is very good to see. I am paying close attention.

Doesn't look like anyone wants to sell, which is good for the most part & either the buy walls comes up or we just keep forging/staking. Not really much we can do, the markets are the markets & sooner or later someone will look at FIRE as a good project to take on. We are not taking over FIRE, but just helping it keep working & help if a new team does take it on (I will give them all FIRE sites). Having seen several launches & relaunches struggle, this would be much simpler than paying all that money to start #2345 altcoin Cool

Nice, will go and buy then. I like what is happening with Fire!!

Need some orders up to buy, but looks like a new 1k sale was made & having the last trade on Bittrex being 1500 sats (less than a 100k FIRE)? I see why there's no FIRE to buy, selling at a loss after months of no exchange isn't something that I would expect anyone to do. Holding FIRE on an exchange for too long isn't something wise either, so it comes down to waiting  & doing what we can to keep FIRE an option for takeover.
450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FIRE] FireCoin - 97K <PoW - 150K >POS - Rebuilding on: March 18, 2015, 01:06:13 AM
Love to see that Fire is on an exchange again. Yes, that is my sell on YoBit for 0.8. Setting the bar high as I don't want to sell any anyways.

Looks like no one wants to sell FIRE, I would prefer to give a good % of my FIRE (a trusted project that FIRE might be able to help) & am just waiting for that moment to come. Could be weeks/months or could be years, might never happen & is all part of the experiment of crypto. As you see on most threads, these experiments are mostly based on community & we could spend 1000's of hours which in turn might get us no where, or become something great? I'm not the best at reaching out, wish that was a great skill of mine & just isn't one of them. Will try from time to time, but that just doesn't add up to someone who excels at it & having that is a must to be something great.

Can the beta Android wallet stake coins?

No, but not 100% sure on that one?

Thanks, I was offline for a few hours & just got back online. Will update the last post, looking forward to testing the new exchange out & thanks again for adding FIRE YoBit.Net.

FIRE is currently not on any exchanges though so there's nowhere to sell it.  We could get it on an exchange but the volume and selling price low.  What do you think about starting with a different approach?  Offer to send FIRE to people who can produce proof that they have donated to certain charities?  As it builds and value grows then start to move in a different direction?  Just brainstorming here...

I think we should wait a little bit to add FIRE to another exchange, since the community hasn't really been active in the last week? No point in adding FIRE yet, without an active community & reason to though? Also need a little more time to contact a reputable charity (something FIRE could help with, thinking camping & activities that involve a campfire for cooking/warmth), no one ever replies to emails & messages sent when needed the most (sure they will in time though). Seeing so many fail at trying to move to fast in crypto is not what FIRE needs, lets take it slow (not too slow, but finding a medium), build something great & leave options for others to help keep the FIRE going.
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FIRE] FireCoin - 97K <PoW - 150K >POS - Rebuilding on: March 07, 2015, 12:25:51 AM
I think it's a great idea!  How would it work with FIRE?

Find a trusted non-profit & go from there, it's not quite as simple to just do that though. It would be more along the lines of them holding say 1-10% of the FIRE network (leaving room for other ideas), selling the forged (PoS) FIRE for the items (WiseFire was the best possible thing I seen for FIRE, something that could be shipped to a good cause & help those in need around the world?).

That's just the idea I see FIRE could start with, but you're right, it would take a lot of effort to gain something like this around FIRE? I think it would be worth it though, but still just somewhere to start & hope a real product or backer would see FIRE as something it could be utilized as? So many directions FIRE could go, which we are only trying to open doors for people to see & maybe save them from launching a new coin (app). I sometimes focus on the future, not the present & this is a long term goal option for FIRE Wink
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FIRE] FireCoin - 97K <PoW - 150K >POS - Rebuilding on: March 06, 2015, 01:07:46 PM
New wallet designs looks good (making sure to leave room for updates), FIRE is now fireproofed (replacing lock/unlock) & forging (replacing staking) Grin The new FIRE designs were just to replace the old FIRE logo & add a few extra's, creating a new look for FIRE. Thinking that if we put too much effort into creating top-notch artwork, it would leave no room for others to add something to FIRE (volunteering or for a bounty). Building something good out of FIRE is the goal, which may take time & effort over the next few months/years Wink

Edit: Here is the idea I found to be the best option for FIRE to help, as firewood is tough to donate anywhere & this leaves room to grow. Just an idea, but think it's a great start @ building FIRE. Thoughts from the community?

WiseFire 4 Gallon 240 Cup Fuel Source
*not affiliated with WiseFire & just an idea

I agree with you about alot of these points which is why I'm not going to push the idea any further. I'm open to any suggestions on what other services to tie into that running firecoind on the site there. Also, I don't plan on making any other promotional efforts about that particular dice game as well. Smiley

I was trying to get a faucet up (found a few), Multifaucet has too many coins for anyone to really see FIRE & have been looking for one that doesn't have pop-up ads as well, would you be able to build one without ads? I think it would be ok that a % of each went to the site, but think a gambling site isn't a way to create a small redistribution. A faucet where people have to do something other than enter their address & type a captcha could really help as well? Maybe a retweet post in the coding, then they would enter their address & captcha to get FIRE? Just ideas (as one of the community trying to help), but thanks for understanding & just want to see FIRE build in a stable way over the next year or so.
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FIRE] FireCoin - 97K <PoW - 150K >POS - Rebuilding on: March 03, 2015, 02:28:01 AM

Can you offer anything other than gambling, since users around the world (all ages) might click on your site? Even a cheap game would be 1000% better, just my thoughts & seeing every coin that someone starts a for profit (gambling, lottery, etc..) fail. Leaving only months of repair, do really like the fact someone in the community is trying to help though. Stood by & watched this all happen before, just can't sit back & let it happen again & again. Let's do something good with FIRE, not risk it all for some big chance to win! I'm here to create something good, not more bad & if the community wants gambling? It's bad enough the markets are even a form of gambling, but everything has a value & many might learn from that. No one learns from gambling, unless it's a strat game (chess, cards, etc..) & not some coded technology in favor of the owner.

Edit: Sorry, but I've stated many times that I don't agree with gambling on every coin (app) & have seen it all too many times over the last few years. 1000's of coins (apps) out now to gamble with, pushing it to gambling might break any chance of creating a future for FIRE. Just so many other ways to keep the FIRE alive (FIRE assets, stocks, bonds, retirement, 401 k type things, fire insurance home/auto contracts, etc..), creating a possible future & not looking back to what it went through. My ideas may be flawed, so I'll just sit & wait to see if the community has any concerns about this as well? I've been talking to cecilbdemented about doing a firewood donation (small start <firewood> & bigger later <energy efficient home heating>), finding people in need of heat (for food & warmth, cooking & heating) over the coldest part of the year & not really seeing a mix of a good cause | gambling playing together well?
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FIRE] FireCoin - 97K <PoW - 150K >POS - Rebuilding on: March 02, 2015, 07:18:41 PM
New wallet update is exceeding the last 6 months of PoS transactions, lets find ways to keep improving FIRE & build the future that could be. Many names out there, which many jump on & then leave. This is FIRE (wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire), something that is utilized everyday & one of the most innovative elements in the world. What would the world be like without fire in it, many good purposes come from fire & if we only focus on the bad? The world would still be rubbing two stick together, seeing the future without fire is quite dark & cold, lets keep fire as the good innovation it was meant to be Cool

I've launched a new wallet. It works great! Now we have the fastest blockchain! Thanks guys! Smiley

I would suggest the developers to create a Development Fund and publish a wallet for donations.
I'll donate 1000FIRE for the project development, as I promised. Smiley

Thank you, here are both mine & cecilbdemented's addresses. We don't have an updated block explorer yet, but GrinZ has made contact about waiting for an update (seems to be still looking at tom14cat14's OP) & have pointed him toward the new (soon to be updated OP). Now if we can get Block Experts to update as well, that all depends on if the person who had FIRE added to Block Experts is also updating to the new wallet? If anyone wants to help contact them & request them to update the explorer to the new wallet. I have sent them a message via Twitter ( https://twitter.com/blockexplorer ), but it would help if anyone who updated also sends a request to update Wink

First tx shows that I've been with FIRE since the start, trying to help & keep the FIRE going. Even after everyone abandon FIRE (twice), I'm still trying to help (not as a dev, but a community member willing to help) & just want to show trust to the community. Maybe then a very skilled Developer will see what I see FIRE could be in the very long term dedication to FIRE could achieve  Wink

Has also shown a lot of hard work on TECH, which I kindly ask him if he could help FIRE out & he is the one that should get any donations for the fix. I'm just learning & can only offer the coding of the ANN (OP) & working on another website + other social media sites for FIRE Wink

P.S. We don't have a Development Fund wallet, any donations will be in the new ANN thread (OP) upon creation though.

Thanks and keep up the good work, guys!  Smiley

Thanks, new ANN should be up in a bit. Everything will be linked to fire-community (email, website, Twiter, BitCoinTalk, etc..), that way in the future, transfer of accounts & sites will be simple as pi (TT). No sense in building something for the community, unless it can stay with the community & keep from having to start over  Wink
