441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is buying GRIN a good decision now? on: February 13, 2019, 02:28:10 AM
It's easy to get caught up in all the hype, but if a project demonstrates solid development progress and has a good community forming behind it, it's likely to represent future value, regardless of its relatively high inflation rate so don't focus so much on trying to profit immediately if you're seeking to invest and just add some to your portfolio when it gets cheap enough as there'll likely be rewards for doing so once the technology matures a little further and the market trends upward again
442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is that GREEN? BTC BULL RUN V2019? on: February 13, 2019, 01:22:04 AM
The market experienced a minor appreciation due to positive news about the chances of an ETF approval, but it's unlikely that this will trigger a bull run of any sort, however, there are some signs its added positive sentiment to the market, which may result in retail investors gradually returning in the near future, especially in the lead up to next years halving event and more developments aimed at attracting institutional investors this year will help add value so there's likely to be a little less incentive to sell from now

444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to buy Grin Coin? on: January 28, 2019, 03:02:07 AM
The new Mimblewimble implementations are very speculative in value but Grin especially seems to be bringing a bit of fun back into cryptocurrency with a great logo and creative concept although the technology is still in early stages of development, and you're best off trading them on Bitforex or Bibox but there won't be a Windows wallet available for approximately another two weeks if you require one to store your coins
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why many ico launch with ETH ? on: January 26, 2019, 03:36:13 AM
Most ICO's choose Ethereum for a very simple reason it's the most popular smart contract platform for launching crowdsales and has relatively low transaction fees, and generally they also accept other major cryptocurrencies and some even have support for credit card payments, but there's also increasing amounts of crowdsales being launched on competing platforms like Stellar, Waves and NEO so there's a diverse array of options available
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bounty hunter paid USDT? on: January 26, 2019, 02:42:00 AM
Bounty hunters being paid in cryptocurrencies such as BTC, ETH, or USDT is not as common because generally the projects who choose to conduct a bounty campaign do so due to budget constraints and these types of campaigns typically don't incur any up front costs which means if a crowdsale fails to meet its minimum requirement, gets canceled due to regulatory changes or market conditions etc. it won't be any loss to the organizers so they're usually only going to pay rewards in their own tokens
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency has come to stay on: January 26, 2019, 01:31:31 AM
You are right, despite many recent drawbacks with the market collapse and lots of fund raising activities being exposed as scams or illegitimate ventures the technology itself has lots of potential and adoption is slowly but steadily increasing, and the fact that regulation is now becoming an important topic on the agenda of governments world wide adds a degree of credibility to the industry so it's unlikely to vanish anytime soon although there's still a lot of speculation driving the value
448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Neo and Eos on: January 26, 2019, 12:53:25 AM
You can earn passive income from holding NEO in your wallet in the form of GAS and you can also earn interest from most dividend tokens and proof-of-stake coins however, with EOS you can only receive rewards if they are shared by one of the block producers (nodes)
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most Hodlers have now turned to Traders? on: January 25, 2019, 04:25:05 AM
How can this be possible when there's literally no liquidity in the market? Unfortunately a lot of low quality assets have turned many investors into bag holders for now and not much profits can be made in a bear market from these sorts of investments so it's probably best to wait for the next time the market sees a major turn around as there should be some gains if the projects are of good quality
450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth to invest in Ethereum or wait for Ethereum 2.0? I want to invest 5k on: January 25, 2019, 03:51:49 AM
Ethereum 2.0 is still some time away so there's no real hurry if you're wanting to gain benefits from the increased usability and adoption by investing for that reason, however, with high quality cryptocurrency assets like this you're better off buying it as cheaply as you can and now it's representing good value and even though it could potentially get a little bit cheaper you'll find long term the current price is not overvalued whatsoever
451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should We Trust Blockchain ? on: January 25, 2019, 03:06:36 AM
Blockchains themselves aren't easy to hack, but they are vulnerable to what is known as a "double spend" or 51% attack which is quite hard to achieve if the hash power that secures them is distributed equally amongst a majority of miners, but what you appear to be referring to is an issue to do with exchange security which is another thing altogether and unfortunately only a small percentage of top exchanges have been awarded a B or higher rating in this area so make sure you take all the necessary precautions when using them
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2019 Shopping List on: January 25, 2019, 01:47:18 AM
When the market is bottomed out and bearish sentiment persists it is the best time to buy and currently it should be close to the bottom if not there already, and once again the market is showing some signs of stabilizing following brief consolidation but there's still insufficient new capital entering at present to lift prices further so grab all the major assets as cheaply as you can and simply be patient until renewed activity resumes
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2019, A Challenging Year for Ethereum on: January 25, 2019, 01:06:26 AM
Some of these issues are going to be solved by the upcoming Constantinople upgrade in February which will lower block rewards and gas fees and also make the platform easier to develop for along with other important features, and provided it all goes smoothly there shouldn't be any negative effects on either value derived from or future adoption of apps on the network

455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Pump after dump? on: January 24, 2019, 05:36:07 AM
Anything but a further decline in the market would be very welcome at this stage as volumes are low and are not showing any signs of improving yet plus the government shutdown has delayed many important developments and there isn't much activity on the institutional investment front despite strong development in that area so besides some minor increases there's not much of a chance of a 'pump' of any sort this soon but the outlook is still promising
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is blockchain job friendly? on: January 24, 2019, 04:41:27 AM
Blockchain technology can help improve a variety of industries including finance, logistics, health care, energy, digital identity and more and won't have a huge impact on current occupations but create more vacancies to do with project management and software development so if you're seeking to gain skills in this area it would be a big advantage
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will it still last? on: January 24, 2019, 04:08:02 AM
Cryptocurrency is not likely to disappear anytime soon and should eventually evolve into a more widely used technology regardless of the current market situation, and Bitcoin should enjoy it's dominant position for at least a few more years but not many alternatives will last especially not the flavor of the month tokens or the pump and dump coins so far less focus should be on those if you're a serious investor just stick to what will become more prime assets for institutional interest in future as that area slowly matures and you're likely to avoid many pitfalls along the way
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your favorite stablecoin?? on: January 24, 2019, 03:11:10 AM
Stablecoins are becoming more of a convenience for day traders and a popular way to hedge against volatility for investors and it really depends on what exchanges you are using and what kind of fees are involved, and not all of them are trustworthy i.e. have a fully transparent publicly available audit to backup their reserves so make sure you don't make frequent use of any that don't have these assurances
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mistake you should avoid when holding your Altcoins on: January 24, 2019, 01:47:18 AM
This is a wise strategy to adopt especially when you are holding onto too many high risk assets because in a bear market there's not always going to be as big a chance of them appreciating even if good quality projects do achieve milestones and increase adoption the results might not pay off immediately so always be proactive in diversifying into lower risk assets if there's enough liquidity and you're not incurring too big a loss when restructuring your portfolio
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Constantinople, the only ethereum hardfork on: January 21, 2019, 01:41:17 AM
It's best to avoid unofficial forks as most of them are scam orientated and may attempt to steal your private keys or other valuable information so just transfer your ETH to a major exchange that supports the Constantinople upgrade if you're wanting to take advantage of any additional bonuses that might occur but there shouldn't be anything to worry about when the upgrade takes place next month
