I have no doubt that diversification is an appropriate strategy for any responsible investor looking for a way to minimize risks, however, seeing the behavior of the crypto market, where there is a clear dominant (bitcoin) whose behavior has a drastic and direct influence on the behavior of all the other altcoins, I believe that adequate diversification does not mean buying numerous unknown altcoins, but investing in other less volatile investment instruments, such as metals, currencies or stocks.
I always diversify my investments and usually there are from 4 to 7 different coins in my portfolio. But I wouldn't sell a "strong" coin to buy a "weak" one. There's a high possibility that weak coins are crapcoins, so why would I sell my strong asset to buy some crap? I'd better hodl. |

If I had to choose I'd take both, but I'd invest like 65-70% of the amount into ETH and 30-35% in Ripple. I expect better performance from ETH, that's why I'd invest more in it. Probably, some of these people have other thoughts but I support your point of view. These guys were not in time to buy Bitcoin when it was under 5 thousand (or even cheaper) and now, they wish to get it almost for free. |

Wait for the proper time; buy at bear phase (currently it is bear phase) you may sell in bull phase.

I think you are not being objective with your accessment of Ethereum, it is not a lie that the ICO developers are now panicking and dumping their Ethers but looking at the chart Ethereum is oversold already and expect the price to rebound unless BTC rally commence which we all know put pressure on altcoins price
