Just came to the same conclusion, the moment I add a fee, the transaction gets confirmed.
But what happens to the funds that are "stuck"? They got deducted from my balance, didn't they?
Now I will have to increase the withdrawal fees to ensure transaction processing. 100DVC would be an equivalent of 0.0001 BTC (assuming an ex. rate of 0.000001 BTC/DVC). I guess that should be an acceptable fee and ensure no further hinderance in withdrawals.

Anyone else have the same problem: I can receive DVCs but all by sends remain with 0 confirmations and they dont show up in the blockchain either. No errors show when I do the transfer. They just sit there with 0 confirmations.

Just to make sure I understand correct and that I dont accidentally download a wrong source, the new Devcoin source (officially released?) which also supports merged mining is stored in Github with the name: old-devcoind BTW, do I need to upgrade my wallet even if I do not want to use it for mining purposes but purely a wallet?

Any I0Coin block explorer out there that work?

What is the current hashrate of the entire devcoin network?
How do you caclulate the hashrate of the network? Is it "only" a matter of checking the timestamps of the most recent blocks and together with the current difficult rate calculate the hasrate? If that's all there is to it, I could possibly add some infos into the exchange, as I have all the daemons running, I have access to all the info provided by getinfo.

It's 10 confirmations at the moment, i'll drop it to 6 once merged mining is active and we can see a substantial hashrate increase. I have reduced the required confirmations on BTC/NMC/I0C/SC down to 6.

Done, set to 4 hours. On the long term, I'll add it as an option in the profile so everyone can set their on timeouts.

Just in case anyone missed it,
I0Coin and IXCoin trading is now available.
|
|
|
I noticed btc-e.com, reopened the ixc exchange, will you do the same?
https://vircurex.com now also trades IXCoins.

the block count is not so much the important factor. it is more about the hash rate. we are looking for a rate of 40ghs+ but hope that merged mining will achieve this.

I am targeting "preferred shares", hence no voting, the investors should be investing purely out of economical reasons and not because they want a controlling stake in the company. Difference between bonds and shares, extract from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bond_(finance): Bonds and stocks are both securities, but the major difference between the two is that (capital) stockholders have an equity stake in the company (i.e., they are owners), whereas bondholders have a creditor stake in the company (i.e., they are lenders). Another difference is that bonds usually have a defined term, or maturity, after which the bond is redeemed, whereas stocks may be outstanding indefinitely The main point being: bonds have a defined term or maturity.

Or we just leave it be and all focus on I0C.

I suggest a bounty of 8 generation shares for the first devcoin stock exchange.
Setting up the exchange shouldnt be the problem, thanks to the dynamic design of the underlying platform of Vircurex, adding additional Currencies/Stocktickers is a matter of minutes or using the same codebase for a second exchange. Though I would need to adjust the screen layout a bit as it currently shows all possible combinations of available currencies, it would even allow to trade stock for stocks (though the sense of that is questionnable). Looking at the current active currency combinations on Vircurex, it probably doesnt make sense to offer all possible combinations, that would water down the volume hence the decreased liquidity will push the prices down. I would suggest it do be trading against BTC and DVC only. The more important question would be the scope of functionality expected? - Create new listing - Issue new stocks - Buy/sell stocks - Pay dividends - Delist stock - Stock splits / Reverse splits - Options (probably very low priority as there is no Options volume on Vircurex, I assume interest is rather limited.) We'ld need to offer some space for people to store their quarterly/annual reports (devtome.com?)

what what was the network hashing power during the double spent attack back end of september?

I had problems with the download of blocks some weeks ago, it was because of the missing receiver CSV files. Do you have them all?

Sending and receiving coins is no problem at all, from anywhere to anywhere. Those transactions are easily identifiable and can be assigned uniquely to the user accounts. The issue is about using exchange or pool addresses to receive bounties. The standard devcoind client (and probably none of the other bitcoin offsprings) as it stands today is not able to assign the "generated" bounty blocks to different accounts/addresses.
In short: you can mine anywhere and send the coins anytime to vircurex or withdraw anytime from vircurex. Should you ever apply for a bounty, make sure you use an address that is generated on a wallet that is running on your PC.
