441  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-31] Bitcoin Is The New 'Gold' on: September 03, 2017, 09:22:03 PM
It's really very similar to gold, there were no banks everywhere, people kept their gold under their house in their yard (wallets and keys), there were people working in gold mines(miners). Really look very much like each other.

Yep. And we are experiencing what should be "gold rush" where everyone wants to mine and take a pice of the pie. I know guys that don't even understand what BTC is but they are investing in mining heavily because they heard it's profitable
442  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-01] F2Pool Reneges: Bitcoin Pool Pulls Segwit2x Support Over Hard Fork on: September 03, 2017, 09:18:24 AM
Miners and everyone else should follow whatever makes BTC better and currently that is Segwit2x

You forgot to mention why. Why?

It's pretty logical. Bitcoin does need that larger block size now. So do you actually think it's better to stay at 1mb instead increasing to 2mb ?

You're a bit confused, you don't understand what's going on

Here is a post from a few days ago where I list the >1MB Bitcoin blocks since Segwit activated last week

>1MB blocks are becoming increasingly more common (and ever larger), Armory wallet supports Segwit addresses now, and I think Electrum might have Segwit addresses too.

So, how is this magic happening, if Bitcoin is still using a 1MB blocksize limit? I suggest you take some time to learn about what's really going on, as you clearly don't know

You are not so smart as you think you are. I took my time and I suggest you do too. If you did you would find this:

SegWit2x seeks to upgrade bitcoin in two ways:
1. It would enact the long-proposed code optimization Segregated Witness (SegWit), which alters how some data is stored on the network.
2. It would set a timeline for increasing the network's block size to 2MB, up from 1MB today, to be triggered about three months after the SegWit activation.

And based on your post, you wanted to say that Bitcoin is using 2MB blocks now ?
443  Economy / Speculation / Re: the likelihood that bitcoin will see a correction at 5000$ on: September 02, 2017, 10:03:50 PM
Price changes are pretty huge now, can't say for sure what the "correct" price is. A lot of people got their sell orders around 5k so we are experiencing a drop in price, but larger investors are not selling, they are buying so it shouldn't be long until price goes beyond 5k

They are not stupid. Miners can't dictate users what chain to follow, so 2x fork would be only a disaster - Bitcoin network will slow down because majority of miners leave to mine new coin, while those miners will be wasting their electricity on a coin that won't be accepted almost anywhere. Exchanges will have to add 2x coin only as an alt, otherwise they will face legal lawsuits if they'll try to treat 2x coin as if it were original Bitcoin. But Bitcoin users have the upper hand here - most of us can endure long delays and wait for difficulty adjustments, while miners will suffer huge losses if they will switch to weaker chain. This is why some pool are already breaking their promises to fork - on D-day 2x chain will have much less than current 90% of Bitcoins hashpower.
In short, you think it's too much hassle and don't want to bother in order to improve Bitcoin. Well In my mind that is not right. Miners and everyone else should follow whatever makes BTC better and currently that is Segwit2x

Hey, as you can see auction is long gone. If you still wish to purchase this script you will have to do so at full price here

Just a lot of guys with sell orders that needed to be filled. At one time BTC price was rising high. Got preev opened, gone to eat, came back price up by 150$. It's only logical that a lot of guys would be selling
448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NSA Identified Satoshi Nakamoto on: September 02, 2017, 06:43:37 PM
I think it's bullshit for multiple reasons. Why put so much manpower and money into confirming/denying that Satoshi is Russian agent ? That just looks stupid. And from the text they just took public information that we got available trough Snowden and made it all about Satoshi
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: AMD GPUs Sells Out in 5 Minutes, Gamers Livid at Crypto Miners on: September 02, 2017, 01:40:46 PM
It's an AMD problem. Nvidia has no problem supplying gamers and miners with the cards they want, albeit at a markup at what they sold for previously. Maybe AMD should ramp up production and do the same?

It's because major percentage of miners use AMD cards. It's okay to see one rig with Nvidia but where have you seen warehouse of Nvidia cards (you can count them with fingers on your hands) ? AMD is trying to address that issue by offering Motherboard GPU and CPU bundle at a discounted price which is great value for Gamers
450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Message to the guys, that didn't buy when BTC was worth 100$ on: September 02, 2017, 01:38:24 PM
Saying that like this is the peak and the price will not rise anymore. Point is buy now, then in a 4-5 years open thread like this and say the same thing.
451  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-02] $5,000: Bitcoin Price Hits Historic New Milestone on: September 02, 2017, 01:38:19 PM
5000 is good. But can the bitcoin price exceed 10k by the end of this year? There were many forecasts with a figure of 14,000. With such a trend, as now, I do not exclude that it is possible.

Don't think it's possible for price to double until the end of the year, but still many things depend on what happens in november and how will all that go
452  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-29] SegWit's Slow Rollout: Why Bitcoin's Capacity Hasn't Seen a Sudden on: August 29, 2017, 04:27:38 PM
I think most of us knew this was always going to be a slow climb, even if most (or all?) of the sites and wallets who'd openly professed SegWit support still haven't done so. Was testnet not enough or did they simply to wait for the network to have it activated before they could test? I wonder also if users will still stick to legacy for a while after wallets offer new addresses. I'm not unhappy with the wait, since it will be a minor hassle for me to update my main addresses, priv keys etc.

Yeah that is how most users think. It would be a hassle. But if you think long term it will pay of and if everyone do it eventually we will see some benefits
453  Economy / Services / Re: Selling sure profit service on: August 29, 2017, 11:22:31 AM
As I said I ofer demo where you see all so dont judge that i ams cammer before checking.thanks

You cant guarantee that betting can be "sure profit" in any way. That is why it's called betting. Sure profit is something where you don't have a chance to lose your money and I just don't see how does betting fit there
454  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-28] Bitcoin Cash Creates New Tax Headache For Investors on: August 29, 2017, 11:19:38 AM
I'll just say US. IRS there is the worst on the planet. Point of having BTC is so you can avoid taxes, you can send 50k$ and no one will stop you or require any document. Now we have BCC and they want piece of that too...
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is this power distribution ok for my mining rig? on: August 29, 2017, 10:33:18 AM
This is what my build looks like as of right now....https://i.redd.it/ghflb24rlliz.jpg

  • 5x RX 580 Nitro+
  • 5x 1080ti OC-11GD
  • 1x GTX 970 (just because I had it in my pc from when I used to game)
  • 2x EVGA T2 1600w PSU
  • Asrock H110 Pro BTC+

Red GPUs connected to the left PSU (580, 580, 970, 1080ti, 1080ti, 1080ti)
Green GPUs connected to the right PSU (580, 580, 580, 1080ti, 1080ti)

anyone have any advice as far as what I should keep in mind as far as how many I can connect to each psu? I'm new to all this; so any advice is very much appreciated.

Also, I have each sata cable connected to about 2-3 risers; is that a safe amount? I don't want to go above that.

Still in the process of building; don't mind the wire chaos.

Thanks!
Be very carrefull with yours connections : power and data.
You are one of the first with so much GPUs in a single mobo and you have to monitor all the technical issues.

PSU :
The best is to have a platinium PSU and 30% more power that the sum of the GPUs you connect to it.
Be very carreful to the cable becomes not to hot after hours and days...

SATA Data :
No probleme : you can connect more than one GPU to the same cable.

Actually it could be a problem for SATA cables. They are not made with much power draw in mind. It's always recommended to use PCIE or Molex for your risers.
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Very low electricty fee on: August 28, 2017, 09:43:34 PM
Since you have low electricity charges why don't you get an antminer or a similar miner for other coins instead of a GPU rig?
GPUs are a bit of expensive at the moment

They are expensive, but when you are done with them you can always sell them and there will always be buyers. When you are done with ASIC no one will buy it because its no longer profitable, so no point in having it around
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★[ICO] ATB Coin - the last token sale. The final chance to invest.★★ on: August 28, 2017, 09:22:35 PM
I was considering investing but feels like everyone will dump as soon as possible (When coin launches September 1st) so Idk if its a good idea now...
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to claim my Bitcoin Cash on: August 28, 2017, 08:45:30 PM
Most wallets on their website will require you do download full node. I used electron cash and it worked perfectly. Recommend that over the others
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Very low electricty fee on: August 28, 2017, 08:42:12 PM
Hi guys, because of some reason, the place I live now has super low electricity fee, around $0.02/kwh , should I start mining? My place can withstand around 60-70 miners I think , I will be starting with 2-3 as I have no much extra cash

When you say miners what do you mean exactly ? Since you are posting on Alcoin Mining I guess you mean mining rig that consists of 6 GPUs ? So when you say you have money for 2-3 miners that is 12-18 GPUs ? Or you have money for 2-3 GPUs ?
460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are transaction times so slow? on: August 28, 2017, 06:17:02 PM
My transaction has been completed, looks like there was a lot of load on the block chain. Still waiting for Segwit to be able to give us 8Mbs/block. Anyone have an idea when that will be?
Yes.  I have an idea when that will be: Never.  SegWit doesn't do 8MB.  SegWit will never do that.  SegWit is being carefully restricted to 1MB by Core.  Indeed, they are looking for ways to go to .5MB.  I am not kidding about this.

Just use Bitcoin Cash.  They already have 8MB running right now and they have very short confirmation times and very low fees.  It is already running.  You don't need to wait for anything.

Yeah they do got that. But that doesn't change the fact that BCC is not supported by anyone and you can't do shit with it. So no point in recommending someone to witch if it's not accepted. It's as if you would say "Well just use Litecoin" cool man but no one wants to get paid with it.

Most exchanges will let you trade BCH directly for Fiat. Same goes for Litecoin and Ethereum - you can change it directly for fiat. So it makes sense to use those while bitcoin sorts itself out.

Yeah if you want to pay huge fee for that service. What if you want to use LocalBitcoins for example ? We can't deny it, if you want to pay/get paid use Bitcoin, other coins are just investment opportunities. No real world use.
