441  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Analysis - What's coming Next? on: April 13, 2024, 07:41:20 PM
Bitcoin looks pretty solid inside 60,000$'s price range for several days already, even considering we are facing a correction in price. I have the impression Bitcoin is reaching this halving stronger than ever, what means investors are heavily focused on it as an unique opportunity of making huge profit, what will inevitably boost its price to much superior price ranges around 80,000$ and 90,000$. People expecting deeper crashes in price might frustrate themselves and lose the opportunity of selling when Bitcoin skyrockets once again.

There are some negative factors in the world which can influence Bitcoin's price negatively, such as threats of war between Iran and Israel and even the escalation of conflict between Russia and the West. However, their impact over Bitcoin is still a mistery. On the other hand, in times like this we have gold investment adoption increasing in large proportions, what is a very positive indicator for Bitcoin, as when gold adoption rises, Bitcoin also does.
442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: April 13, 2024, 07:27:52 PM
So at this point I decided to bring it here to know or see different views from different intellects here on why do some people hide just to gamble or if it is the best way to gamble ?.
People can hide their gambling habits for different reasons depending the local culture, the environment where they are gambling, the laws of the country and the moment of the day they are wagering. If common sense in your culture says gambling is a negative activity and people involved on it aren't admirable citizens, it seems likely gambling enthusiasts will try avoid being watched while betting. If they are in areas which gambling isn't allowed, such as schools and public buildings it's also natural gamblers are going to place their bets in secret.

In case your country strictly forbids the practice, then people will be even more careful everywhere when betting, because they will fear being fined and sued by local authorities due to their illegal hobby. Furthermore, it's also normal that people hide to gamble when doing this in moments of the day they shouldn't, like during worktime or when they should be doing another tasks of daily routine, such as taking care of children and household chores.
443  Economy / Economics / Re: Play to earn model vs move to earn model. on: April 12, 2024, 10:13:35 PM
It's not a solution to anything. Microearnings have always been a waste of time. Only the poorest and most desperate people do them, and still it's not worth for them. They would have been better off spending that time on developing skills that could help them earn better money - these days you can learn almost anything on the Internet.

And even thinking about macroeconomic effects of microearnings is just funny.
Microearnings have already helped early BTC adopters to earn from zero considerable sums of money in current BTC rates. It's not always a waste of time. Sometimes there is long term potential on microearnings offers and they should be analyzed by people who are looking for opportunities and can't find them on their local communities. Each case is one case. What works for you might not work for someone else, but what works for him, might not work for you.

Therefore, I don't discourage anyone from seeking for offers, even inside the microearnings niche. The important thing is to be constantly searching something to make an income from, even when it seems nothing is going to work for you. It's necessary to be attentive to what life is bringing and trying to show. There might lie the opportunity you have been looking for, but couldn't find so far.
444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: April 12, 2024, 10:01:48 PM
~

I'm not quite sure why you would want poor neighborhoods to not have casinos. In my opinion a rich person can afford a lot more entertainment than a poor person. Keeping a poor person from gambling is not a very fair solution even if you think that his level of education and financial literacy does not allow him to manage his money properly. In addition, a rich gambler to get emotions must make a bet of $100, and a poor gambler is enough to make a bet of $1 and he will experience similar emotions.

Oh, if it were like this! If it were like you said, I would wholeheartedly support placing slot machines and some other gambling facilities in the poor neighborhoods. But unfortunately  if you are uneducated, more often than not, it's never enough for you to win couple of dollars. You want to win really a lot, thinking that big money can bring you happiness, and thus you risk a lot, and often you lose it. Maybe it wouldn't look like a big amount for a rich person, but for you it's all you have.

It’s great to think about providing entertainment options like gambling in poorer neighborhoods as a way to offer equal recreational opportunities. Gambling can indeed be thrilling and serve as a leisure activity when managed responsibly. However, it’s also crucial to ensure that such facilities don’t lead to financial distress for individuals who might already be vulnerable. Striking a balance by implementing safeguards, like betting limits and financial education, can help ensure that gambling remains a source of fun without becoming a financial burden. This way, we can maintain the positive aspects of gambling as entertainment while protecting those most at risk.
After all, it will be always up to each individual to decide what to do towards the offers disponible to him. Nowadays gambling is disponible for everyone, being the person a rich or poor individual. You can't ensure someone financially vulnerable won't get addicted and waste all his money gambling, because in the end it will be up to his free will to decide going through this route or not. All we can do is to advise, work on prevention through education, as you mentioned, so we can try enlighting those individuals on what they can expect from gambling, how they should treat it, how it works for real and how they can adopt gambling for their lives in a functional and responsible manner.

However, I'm not sure if there should be betting limits and restrictions accordingly to the income of the gambler. To give people different rights based on how much money they make sounds like they are being treated like children who can't take their own decisions and learn through their own mistakes.
445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: April 12, 2024, 09:37:10 PM
Outside the Health negative part of gambling like depression , Anxiety and suicide there are virtually positive Health related benefits of gambling . Gambling can actually help a gambler To be more observant, study patterns and Numbes. Gambling also Engages ones brain To be Active on series of events. Also gambling helps To stimulates happiness in human beings because while gambling there is this Joy that envelops you And makes your mind filled with positivity And as well increases human life span .

Additionally , gambling brings about relaxation And comfort And imcreases Social Networking as well as stress reduction.gambling is also a means of Exercise because it energize human to be very agile And effectively Active  in their daily endeavours.
Yes, gambling can have advantages for the individual, if he knows how to practice this activity in a balanced way which isn't going to compromise another aspects of his life. Besides the points you mentioned, I think gambling can also teach important lessons, like patience, self-control and humbleness to the gambler, as at some point he will have to understand he can't beat the house the more he plays, meaning he has to accept his limits in this environment, while also understanding he must control himself in order to not resign to the impulses of our body, which seeks for the pleasures gambling can proportionate.

Also, we gamblers can learn they have to be patience, what means the winning won't come every day. They can't force a situation when gambling. Therefore, it doesn't make sense to increase their bets' sizes so much expecting it's going to be the solution to revert losses into winnings. Patience is the key. If they lost today, they can try again tomorrow, but never trespassing the budget they firstly defined for their gambling session of the day.
446  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: April 12, 2024, 09:19:49 PM
What do you think of this method?
As long as you are gambling with money you can afford to lose, I think your method is fine and can be executed.

Is there anyone among you who does it?
Yes, many gamblers consider a nice objective to double their initial bankroll and quit once they have done it successfully. The problem is that once they achieve doing this in a frequent basis, they will feel highly tempted to pursue even higher returns from their initial bankrolls. Moreover, we are constantly bombarded by videos on Youtube from social influencers who claim to have managed to turn small bankrolls into huge sums of money, going much further than the typical 'double bankroll' strategy, so you can expect this kind of video to fuel the greed of gamblers when deciding how further they go with their bets.

Give us one of your winning strategies, of course if that is possible.
I don't have any. I thought I had, but I was wrong... The house always beat me the more I play, so every strategies are just going to work for a while on short run. You shouldn't rely on any of them for long term returns, as it's just not possible, anyway.
447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shocking rate of women interested in gambling. on: April 12, 2024, 09:04:22 PM
so I did a quick search on Google and I found an article with a title "male vs female gambling statistics in 2024" you might find it Interesting(because I did)but I am not sure if it is exactly what you are looking for.

Here's the link to the article
Fascinating Male Vs. Female Gambling Statistics in 2024
Very nice statistics you have brought to us!

Quote
Men enjoy sports betting because of the strategizing and risks involved–at least 46% say that.

On the other hand, women prefer being entertained and social by playing casino games such as solitaire (45.1%) and word games (48%).
Men prefer sports betting, and women prefer being entertained by calm and peaceful games such as solitaire and word games. I think this information just corroborate to the nature of each gender as many have already been pointing out so far. Sports are games of action, high adrenaline and constant twists, so it seems obvious men will prefer this, while women will tend to go for tranquil games which respect and follow their rhythm and serenity.

Anyway, I got somehow surprised by the fact men are much more present in gambling industry than women. I thought the results would be more balanced, because I've already encountered several old ladies betting on bingo game and slot machines. Maybe this reality varies from place to place and culture to culture, or maybe the digital gambling advent just reinforced the presence on men on gambling industry compared to women.
448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Betting. Why the Distinction? on: April 12, 2024, 08:51:08 PM
Which is why I wonder why there is this distinction between the two? Why can't we say casino betting just as we say sports betting or sports gambling just as we refer to the casino when we talk about gambling? I know it sounds weird saying casino betting or sports gambling but what do you think about this?
I don't see any difference between both words. For me they mean the same thing and I don't know if there is any solid etymological explanation on why both terms should be seen as different between each other. I suppose the distinction is pure speculation by modern gamblers who have seen both terms recently and tried to develop a rational explanation to differentiate one from another. I was reading about this matter on the internet and found an interesting statement from an internet user: "in order to gamble, you have to place a bet", so both concepts are intimately interconnected in a very generic way.

You can say you are going to gamble, to bet or to wager, without any issues. People will understand what you mean, while at same time, these aren't uncommon or wrong terms to be used. They are perfectly fine, and I'm glad we have all of them, so we don't have to use the exact same word everytime we are talking about this matter.
449  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Get one btc right away or 5 btc with a bet? on: April 12, 2024, 08:39:29 PM
I would take th BTC right away. Nothing to take into consideration, 1btc is enough to multiply another one, as Gambling is a game of uncertainty I won't want to trade such a valuable asset because of gambling. I know one might win by chance but won't be sustainable as you might want to risk more, damn no one gambles with an asset.
You can get that 1 BTC which is a sure thing and make it grow through another means without involving gambling practices. You can invest your Bitcoin and earn passive income from it, or you can invest it on your own business where you can work and also make income from. If you have good functional ideas, you are very likely to make considerable profit along the years, always managing this profit in order to make it produce even more money as you keep investing it. At some point, you might turn that 1 Bitcoin into 5 Bitcoins or even more...

It's going to take longer to make such profit when compared to the possibility of growing 1 BTC into 5 BTC through gambling games, but at least, your chances of success are much better and risks are lower when investing the money wisely and sustainably. That is what I would decide to do if that opportunity was offered to me, as I believe patience and long term goals, plus planning are important concepts to be developed and practiced by every individuals aiming to achieve something better for their lives.
450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: April 11, 2024, 11:09:52 PM
Upon all those sources and explanation, I still need the community input on the argument to know if gambling is a HOBBY so that I and the person will understand more.
Cheers.
Some people think gambling can be a job or a side hustle, instead of a hobby, however I must say they are wrong. Gambling doesn't provide sustainable income on long run, therefore it can't be considered a job or a source of income. So, if it's not a job, what can it be besides a hobby activity people engage in a frequent basis? Since people can't make consistent money from it, what other reasons would motivate them to gamble, if not pleasure and entertainment?

It has to be a hobby, after all! Otherwise, if it was all about profits, it would have already stopped being a thing since a long time ago, as most people lose the more they play. However, even facing losses, they still keep coming back for more, leading me to conclude they play because they feel excited and emotionally rewarded, despite the financial losses suffered along the time.
451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling games that gives you an exciting experience on: April 11, 2024, 10:39:20 PM
What is your favorite gambling game and what are the reasons that made you prefer it over the rest?
I don't have a favorite gambling game, although I used to play dice more often than anything else, because it was the main gambling game offered by most crypto platforms years ago. But I can say that since the introduction of more complete crypto gambling portals which offer a wide range of games, I enjoy playing the originals one of the house. I don't stick only with one of them, rather I try to play many of them simultaneously, placing few bets in one, than moving to the next, and going back to the previous one right after...

I see people playing like this as well on the internet and think it's quite fun. And to say the truth, I don't like very much games from third party providers and which some time to load. Live games aren't of my taste as well. However, each gambler will have their own preferences regards games they enjoy the most, and that is totally fine.
452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: April 10, 2024, 08:15:54 PM
I think there is an enormous difference between being lonely because you consciously want and feel good by being alone, and by being lonely and feeling highly frustrated for that reason, what will lead you into fulfilling that emptiness inside with something else. That is when addictions are developed.

Some people go for alcohol, others go for illegal drugs, compulsive sex and some choose the gambling route! The addiction helps ceasing the negative thoughts the person feels about himself not having a friend, family or lover around. Although the effect is temporary and tends to be really noxious on long run.

That is why people should seek for solutions for their lives instead of dangerous palliatives such as gambling addiction. That is not the path for cure, neither for a rewarding life where the individual will feel self-realized at all.
453  Economy / Economics / Re: Cash is not trash on: April 10, 2024, 05:33:27 PM
Do not trash Fiat yourself when it's actually needy, crypto and Fiat must co-exists until the government decide to go digital with Fiat themselves, and Fiat is not trash.
Fiat is a trash you are forced to use, otherwise you can't have access to most products and services in your local society. There isn't a choice in this case, but if there were, I wouldn't use fiat anymore, since Bitcoin seems much more convenient for me. Its value is constantly rising on long term, while fiat is leading purchasing power to very low levels along the years. Sometimes in a timeframe of few months we see huge losses in purchasing power when going to the supermarket. However, people didn't get conscious about how trash fiat is yet.

They use it without contesting or seeking for viable alternatives which can help them to make their money last for longer. Even the barter system looks a better alternative compared to the failed and scammy fiat one, which is profitable only for banks, big companies and members of the government.
454  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The governments are conscienceless on: April 10, 2024, 05:24:36 PM
What's the interest of a government to the masses in a situation where the nation is experiencing inflations with a poor economy system and the same circle, the masses are crawling to survive but yet the government feels no remorse and yet they in time increases taxes values and utilities bills making it more frustrating and worsening the situation for the poor masses.
Who did choose government's members? Wasn't it the poor masses of the country who are struggling? If the government is so bad like that, why have they voted on these people, then? And if the another party were the potential solution for the country, why didn't those masses vote on them, instead?

And you can be assured that if someone raised his voice against all these issues and presented possible solutions to their countrymen in order to fix economical problems and moral conflicts, he would be simply lynched and demoralized by the masses he would be attempting to help. Or in another scenario, someone with good intentions could even reach a power position in the public sphere of his country, but once there, he would be immediately co-opted by the ones who rule the country on the backgrounds, under the penalty of suffering the consequences for his insubordination...
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Real World Assets, AI Trust, and the Crypto revolution on: April 10, 2024, 05:00:52 PM
So here's my question bitcointalkers, how could crypto shape real world assets and AI positively? What potential excites you the most? Let me know your thoughts on these groundbreaking developments!
Cryptocurrencies can be used as powerful means for developers to make their products accessible and reachable by people from every corners in the world, through this decentralized technology. It removes the bureaucratic factor when launching a product and trying to make it highly adopted by customers. It has already shaped the world of assets and investments, considering we have access to profitable investments through platforms which are hosted in another continents, without having to pass through any local state's parties and agencies in order to invest and cashout profits.

Regards AIs, they are just another product offered by developers, which can be negotiated through cryptocurrencies. Shares of an AI company could be developed in cryptocurrency format, which are scarce and would be disponible in a decentralized way for investors from the whole world. The concept is pretty simple and works nicely. The issue is that most developers don't create anything for real. That is, there isn't any final product to be launched, and they make income only over empty promises and speculative hypes.
456  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin the best asset for investment currently? on: April 10, 2024, 12:30:38 AM
I don't agree with the comparison very much, because it mix too many factors which don't make sense. I think it would be fine to compare Bitcoin to fiat currency taking the scarcity and supply aspects into consideration, but when the author also puts stocks, real estate and gold investments on the samd basket it doesn't make any sense at all...

Gold also has limited supply, it's scarce and pretty rare to be found, so it's definitely a good alternative to store value. Real estate tends to get highly valuable on long run, doesn't being negatively impacted by fiat's devaluation, so it's also one of the best available investments alternatives so far. Stocks really depend, as it's a risky market, but it also tend to be an interesting option for investors in order to diversify funds.

The only bad option there is fiat currency, being totally discouraged to hold large portions of it without any goals in mind on what to do with this money aiming to maintain its value on long term. Personally, I would like to engage in stocks, real estate and continue dealing with BTC futurely. And gold, despite being a stable method to conserve value, isn't on my radar. But who knows, maybe I may change my mind later.
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Futurum gaming is sure to provide hours of entertainment on: April 08, 2024, 05:10:18 PM
https://futurumgaming.io/

It seems it's a project focused on teaching children through AI and childish characters, being the main one a polar bear. I think this project should be sold to schools and governments. If the idea is good and the project well developed, they may find potential customers on the educational field. For investors on the internet I don't know why this project would be a good choice. Since the target are children, it must be offered to people who take care of children, no?

Crypto enthusiasts may have interest on it for speculative purposes, but nothing else. And considering speculative purposes solely, there are many other alternatives of altcoins to be invested, including inside the games niche, where there games oriented to adults, what is a smart step, since they compose the majority of the public on this environment.
458  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What are the unwritten rules of healthy life? on: April 08, 2024, 05:01:32 PM
The pursuit for the Truth, which is the purest manifestation of God in every existing things, is the path for a healthy life. By seeking this path, you will know and understand yourself in deeper ways to analyze what has to be done and changed in order to improve yourself, approaching even more to the Truth, as consequence. It's not a simple task, but the sole fact you are attempting, already allow you to reach closer to it, so you feel rewarded in a transcendental way, where things start making sense in your life, where you didn't see any meanings before, due to absorving only the influences of the material world, which says everything is relative and there isn't anything such as an immutable Truth.

As people believe in relativisms, they get away from God's divine influences, which is the origins of perfection, beauty, happiness, and why not health, as well? Than we have a pandemic of the worst kind of illness these days: the mental illness. And the main symptom of this ilness these days, is the fact people can't connect with each other anymore, like they used to do in past times. The bonds are too weak and fragile. The nobility of character has disappeared. Everyone is replaced easily and instead of real feelings, people now look for likes, shares and comments on their profiles, as the first was a past thing which don't fit the tendencies of modern times anymore.
459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos: Still a thing? on: April 08, 2024, 04:49:45 PM
I've been wanting to increase the number of my long-term crypto investments for a while now and I've already got like a good amount of BTC that I can comfortably invest without pulling out and I've checked Bitvest just out of curiosity and I've seen that you can invest in their website, I think I've seen it with Bustabit and Bustadice too back then, are they still doing that or is there like a lot of new casinos that are offering this kind of thing, I can't recall how it works when you invest in them so I'm going to ask (although I feel like stupid forgetting how it works), how does it work? And are there any other trusted casinos that are offering this investment? Is it a bad investment?

If you want to store your BTC on deposit and earn interest from it, you don't necessarily have to do it in a casino. Many exchanges offer a higher interest rate on Bitcoin deposits. I think you should consider depositing on an exchange. Exchanges like Binance, HTX, and OKX offer interest on deposit. If their APY is higher than in the casino, I believe it would be much more profitable for you to deposit on the exchange.
Casino bankroll investments used to be much more profitable than the interest rates offered by exchanges. If it was still a thing, many investors would withdraw their funds from exchanges where they make 4%-8% APY to make 20%+ at casinos. Unfortunatelly that is a feature which belongs to the far past of crypto universe which remains on the 2015-2016 years... The gambling industry now is totally self-sustainable and don't need money from independent investors anymore to keep their businesses running smoothly.

The industry is much more solid and consolidated in a global level than it was on those past years when crypto universe seemed more liked a limited community of people from a countryside area. The sums of money transacted and the number of people involved on such transactions has skyrocketed since then.
460  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling: Modern entertainment or highly addictive game? on: April 08, 2024, 04:39:24 PM
This is the day the gaming industry attracts many workers (directly or indirectly) and creates a large source of revenue. With the legalization of some online gambling activities, the number of players has also increased significantly. And this is considered a quite popular entertainment game in some countries.
Indeed, nowadays people tend to do everything they can through digital means, including gambling. Before, they had to go to physical shops to place bets, what is really not advisable at countries where gambling is illegal. But now, through the internet, individuals can gamble even from countries where this practice is forbidden by authorities, without having to expose themselves on the streets at clandestine houses. They can bet comfortably from home at any time of the day. This accessibility helped gambling to become more popular than before.

At same time, the industry also created more jobs' spots, as the demand for the services increased, so people like us have the opportunity to work full time jobs or side hustles by working for casinos. That is a modern phenomeon which has been possible due to internet widespread even in remote areas of the world.
