441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO SCAM on: July 11, 2020, 07:21:18 PM
We have been discussing on this issue since last year. Truth is people nolonger trust ICO like before and investing there has tendency of hurting. Few people still invest in ICO and most prefers IEO and to me I would say all ICOs are scam because some came from sincere team. Let's always invest wisely and do some research.

Recently people started participating in ICOs with DEFI hype. However, its good to know how crypto investors have become wiser, unlike before when scams were alarming. Proper research before investing in any project is not a new phrase, but yet some people still invest even without checking if the team is genuine. A friend lost 300$ last week, he bought into a scam presale of an acclaimed DEFI project on telegram.
442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What was the first-ever ICO you’ve invested? on: July 11, 2020, 03:45:15 PM
The first ICO I invested in after missing so many profitable ICOs was Bitdegree (BDG). The project aim got me, education propagation on blockchain, but the outcome wasn't really cool for those who held BDG long term. The project was hyped by suppoman since he claimed to have invested in it. I sold some on fork delta upon unofficial listing but held a bulk too, since I was expecting 10x. Unfortunately, the BDG in my wallet has turned shit lol.
443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust USDT? on: July 11, 2020, 01:39:12 PM
I have long believed in USDT, both for trading and for saving money, there is no problem with USDT,
all exchanges also use it, what should be feared?

I really do not know why many keep being skeptical about USDT, probably because SEC keeps dragging Bitfinex / Tether on several occasions which always make the news. As for me, I'm very comfortable keeping funds in USDT, especially when the market is about to go on a downtrend from my TA.
444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New investors are too impatience on: July 10, 2020, 10:32:16 PM
I agree with you, most crypto investors choose crypto with the illusion that they'll get rich quick, and they do not care about the projects, they just want it to rise so that they can collect...
In the old days people were more aware of the potential of blockchain to change our lifes and were more involved in the projects

It's easier said than done when it comes to being patient, especially when holding a volatile asset like crypto. This is the more reason why its important to educate newbies in crypto to avoid misconception of the whole crypto investment ideology. As humans by nature, we are emotional, hence it takes extra discipline to be patient when holding a coin on continuous downtrend. Risk what you can afford to lose is the watch phrase in crypto as always.
445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Overview on DeFi - a new hot trend in crypto on: July 10, 2020, 08:07:10 PM
It is true that Defi is gaining the attention of all and sundry but even at that, one needs to be careful because overtime, it has been seen that when hype takes the lead, it opens ways for fraudsters to leverage on it to create their own projects thus carrying out their agenda. So what I am saying in essence is, no matter the hype and so on, let's not loose guard, due diligence should be embraced so that the best decisions can be made. ICO had their good times, IEO had their good times and now it is Defi, sooner than later another will come out to take over from it.

This is true, many crypto investors just buy into any coin tagged with DEFI without doing any research, hence its crystal clear that the DEFI hype has taken over and scammers keep launching tokens on daily basis. Its pretty easy now to scam with investors who fall into this category since the devs can list unofficially on uniswap and forkdelta to sell their tokens. Moreso, ICO is gradually creeping in since most developers launching new DEFI projects run token sale on their website. DEFI is a dope concept, but always look well before you leap.
446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto success takes time on: July 10, 2020, 04:43:02 PM
the term is HODL, if you want your HODL coins then you will win if your analysis is correct, I think this season is the right season for HODL, because altcoin goes up 100-200%

HODL doesn't necessarily work always, unless the project keeps up with development and grace is on your side too. Just very few coins retain their value or increase over time, reason why we have to be careful with coins we invest in. Patience is very relevant, yeah, but wisely. I apply patience more to my trades after TA and entering a high probability setup, than buying random coins especially due to hype for long term HODL.
447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 50% increase in Doge coin price in just 24 hours! on: July 09, 2020, 07:19:59 PM
Crypto is so volatile that even influencer hypes can cause uptrend for a coin. Imagine what happened to DOGE and multitude FOMO in. I'm not against people buying DOGE but many newbies will buy the top hoping it will continue rising, without knowing how crypto works. Then when the coin dumps on them they start cursing or regretting.
448  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The right mindset needed for all traders on: July 09, 2020, 05:26:31 PM
So if you trade by emotions you will very likely loose money on the longterm. Therefore you should try to stick to your strategy and use as much technical tools for chart analysis to avoid trades lead by emotions

Traders who are extremely emotional do not apply TA at all before buying a coin. If for example you analyze properly, you should know where to set your stop limit (stop loss) and sell order. What I normally do is, after buying a coin, I set sell order and SL using OCO incase the market goes south.
449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 50% increase in Doge coin price in just 24 hours! on: July 09, 2020, 02:49:46 PM
$DOGE is one coin I've never thought of holding long term, but for swing trading. This time around I didn't buy in since it was already over pumped when I got to know. Binance added it to 50x lev and Bitfinex listed it, looked more like they prolonged the FOMO haha. Newbies who buy the top will always grind their teeth at the end.

451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any change this year? on: January 02, 2020, 07:24:14 PM
What are you going to do with 2020, give up or continue to survive.
Obviously giving up is never an option, at least to some extent crypto has been helping out in paying some bills especially trading and Bounty. So what's the essence giving up? I already started building more useful tactics to triumph this year in crypto, and I believe this year will be favorable. Moreover this year just kicked off so how can someone give up already when we await a market uptrend due to halving.
452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Welcome to 2020, the year of cryptocurrency bull market. on: January 01, 2020, 10:02:56 PM
Let's expect the best this year since most crypto enthusiasts are optimistic due to upcoming halving. We also need to be very careful since a lot hacks might be coming up to steal especially Bitcoin from the gullible. Security consciousness is very vital, we've seen cases of hacks even by downloading and using 3rd party keyboards, clicking urls etc.
453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your preparation for 2020? on: January 01, 2020, 05:11:42 PM
We have all experienced a tiring bearish market starting from 2018 until now. Now it will enter 2020 the possibility of a bullish market
will occur. So from that now at the end of 2019 we have to do various preparations for facing 2020. The first thing we have to sharpen
is the knowledge we have, so in 2020 it is more accurate in the analysis. And the second one starts collecting some cryptocurrency which
is considered to have good potential. And the last one we must prepare ourselves mentally to face 2020, so that in 2020 we will be more
able to control our emotions.

The biggest challenge right now is knowing the best cryptocurrencies to hold this year, since most people have lost tremendously by holding some coins for long term. However, I've personally filled my bag with BTC and ETH, now considering which 3 altcoins to bag this year. I'm looking at XLM but the many Airdrops is making me think there might be more dump 🤔.
454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can we review 2019? Please leave few things you achieved or lost in crypto on: January 01, 2020, 01:45:06 PM
Generally we want to learn from you. Its important we review the year and probably correct our mistakes in 2020.

Regards.

Actually 2019 was a great year for me, even with the dwindling crypto market. I learnt patience in trading and trained myself to avoid greed since I set sell at low profit margins mostly 10% is OK by me. I also learnt that what works for someone else might not work for me, hence I tested different trading techniques before knowing the best for me (mid term trading). I have many things to say but time won't permit me.
455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Bleeding on: December 31, 2019, 08:30:48 PM
Altcoin is not increasing for so many days. New money is not coming in market. So Always invest in good Top 30 Altcoins for being Safe.

Investing in top 30 altcoins as purported will definitely reduce risk of losing entire funds, but not a guarantee to make gains. This is the main reason why anyone investing in crypto should understand the risks involved before delving in, so as not to regret later on. Well, altcoins have been down for long, so it's not a new thing. We just hope to see an uptrend soon.
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Useless projects! on: December 30, 2019, 04:52:54 PM
Nowadays almost every project is not achieving its goals in ICO, IEO, and ITO because of the lack of interest of investors due to various projects was a scam in 2017 to 2019, so few projects achieved their goals like Pundix .
Some projects which do IEO on reputable exchanges still achieve their goals, although some exchanges lie about IEO selling out when it's not true. However, I'm happy that investors are now wiser and understand that most of these projects are just out to make money and nothing more. They've been more of useless altcoin projects with no vision to fulfill what's on road map over time😁, I really hope that changes soon. It's funny how a project will come up with an MVP with no plan to release an actual product, how will adoption be fostered?
457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scammers are smart as well. on: December 29, 2019, 06:40:37 PM
This is so true, scammers are more clever than we can imagine, they keep coming up with new strategies. Some will even attend blockchain/crypto conferences, distribute tokens after token sale and then list on a fair exchange to dump the remaining bulk of the tokens. Sometimes we wonder why buy orders get cleared after listing, some people will blame it on airdrop/Bounty hunters etc while most times the team dumps massively.

If team members are just in for money and do not have any plans to fulfill product development, then obviously they are scammers, don't get it twisted. Let's not be deceived by what we see on roadmap or hype around any project.
458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Justin Sun dump 33 billion TRX on New Year's Day? on: December 29, 2019, 09:00:26 AM
After going through the beincrypto source link attached, i saw a postulation that the 33B TRX to be released might be used to boost Poloniex exchange which was recently acquired by Justin Sun. There is some sense in that speculation but no proven evidence yet. However, I think we should just wait and get official info from TRON foundation with regards the unlocking of the coins and reason for unlocking that huge amount (if and only if it will happen).
459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Libra coin alive or dead? on: December 28, 2019, 01:54:01 PM
I saw a tweet by icodrops stating the president of Switzerland said LIBRA has failed in its current form and needs reworking to be approved. Here https://twitter.com/ICODrops/status/1210889995805954054?s=19. I really hoped for Libra to scale through these regulatory hindrances since it will bring more exposure mainstream to crypto, even though it's highly centralized. I'm looking at the usability and acceptability of crypto here and not otherwise.
460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people still fall victim to obvious scam? on: December 27, 2019, 10:32:39 PM
It's really heartbreaking to know that people trust easily online, thereby falling prey to scam easily. I would rather pay some Lil bucks to learn than sending my funds for such purpose. When will people ever get wise? Well, this serves as a lesson. I think the reason why he easily scammed his victims is because of his online presence and also trust built with followers. Sometimes before their exit scam, they do a Lil genuine move to build trust, then hit the major scam and disappear. It's a pity though.
