Hi, possible to get an explanation of what teh "pegging" stuff means? Interested in this project

This is very much under active development. You'r right about the site not being very lively. That's because we are mainly communicating on slack. We will use the forum section on site more in the future though. Mostly for help topics because it's nice to not have to read through a ton of pages here to find answers. The rolling peg, as we call it, is a way to stabilize the value of Bay. We believe one of the obstacles for digital currencies is the volatility in price. Why would Alice and Bob start using a currency that can lose 20-50% of it's value in a day? Doesn't make sense. So we are coming with a solution to that. BitBay will be the first currency in the world with the ability to automatically regulate supply to meet demand at a target price. This is done by freezing/releasing Bay. It's basically the same thing that nations do when they increase or decrease money supply. It's just much easier to do because we don't have to factor in the effect on interest rates, unemployment etc. The peg is designed to be flexible. Meaning we are not targeting a fixed value of Bay versus USD that never changes. Price will be allowed to move, but the extreme pumps and dumps that we know from crypto will not be possible. Think of the peg as a way to make the price of Bay move similar to bluechip stocks instead of crypto. An added advantage of our peg is what we call UVP, user value protection. The following is a very schematic example of how that works. If you buy 1 bitcoin worth of anycoin and it drops 20% you will only have 0.8 bitcoin left if you are forced to sell. In BitBay this will be different after the peg is implemented. If you buy 1 bitcoin worth of Bay and it drops 20% that will result in coins being frozen to maintain value. 20% of your coins are now frozen, so you will still only get 0.8 bitcoin if you are forced to sell, But you still have 20% of your Bay. When demand picks up they will be released, and you can sell them. You say BitBay will be the first. This begs the question, how does "Tether" do it? I have never seen the price of Tether change at all, always 1 USD yet the market cap is growing quite a bit. Just curious. I've been a supporter of Bay since the ICO. |

I remember days when hamradiocoin price will been very high....maybe its time to buy for cheap now or this coin going to dead?  I buy a few every few days. Its going to come back but im still pissed the dev wont get in touch with me because I want to help. Maybe he was run over by a truck...  Nope I'm still here, waiting for the HAM community to step up with help and ideas, everything I have suggested so far has not been wanted so was not done. Sad for me,,, bought EMC2 at price 370 but now price going down under 300 sats,, should i sell my coin with lose or better hold EMC 2 and hope price will increase again?
The value of alt coins are quite fluid. If you sell on every drop, you loose. If you hold you stand a chance of having your investment grow but, there is always risk. Don't give in to the "looser spiral". |

You obviously don't have the stomach to play in crypto. Why not take up a new hobby and stop posting your "poor me" crap here? |

So this 2.0 wallet is still POW? then what it really updating? sorry I may miss the discussion I am wondering what's the last block of POW of the new updated wallet? and when it will enter poS? Once it in POS there will be no miner needed to push the network right?
There will be no POS in the current wallet. It was discussed at some point but was then turned down in favour of pure POW. The new wallet has the same reward schedule as the old. IMHO, Truckcoin.... Really? Did someone here advertise TIPS in your forum? |

No coin swap was done, we are continuing on with Pandacoin as designed when we went full proof of stake. We have a rather low inflation rate, actually lower than the designed 2 1/2% since many Pandacoins have been lost and only proof of stake mining in your PandaBank or wallet will generate new Pandacoin. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/pnd/#@inflationOk, great. Just downloaded the SYS wallet, and I have to say that I am impressed. It is simple and intuitive, so less tech savvy people can use without too much hassle. Looking forward to mass adoption. This is going to revolutionize e-commerce, and the price of SYS will significantly increase. This is definitely a long-term investment.

Had a computer crash and have my back up now how do I start my wallet back up with my coins? Thanks
there shouldn't be any prob copying the wallet.dat into the cloakcoin folder. Then start the wallet. That's it. It may take some time to rescan .... That's what I thought but my coins aren't showing up you need to be full sync only then u will see u coins At full sync put Dat file in cloak folder still nothing are you sure it's right wallet.dat? Or the right folder. In Windows its: C:\users\%YourUserName%\appdate\roamng\cloakcoin This was it Cool! Looking better now? |

You can now send into and withdraw out Tips from your BTER Tips wallet, an action that was blocked previously. Tips is trending on BTER and it looks like a long upward move possibly past the highs of last year (.00000910)ltc I think its best to treat these two tips blockchains as two separate opportunities. Buying in early at Nova could reap big rewards in a year or so. Ok, totally confused. I have original (2014) TIPS and a fully synced Wallet. Which exchanges support this version? Is this the "accepted" version that will, hopefully, increase in value? Is this the version on Bter? We have updated the OP with an FAQ some time ago, I think it might answer most of the questions regarding on which blockchain your TIPS exist. TL;DR: If you use the old wallet, Bter is your exchange. Ok. I thought I had updated and that is correct, I'm on the version 2.0.0 wallet. So, according to the OP that make me current and on the correct chain I believe? So many coins, so little time!  |

True, true... But why not make a nice interview with the devs somewhere or group chat or anything that would prop the faith? It does look like a desperate attempt to fix the price instead. And it does not work. Sorry but it is my impression. And of course I will be buying more if it drops below 1600 even I wouldn't say anything they have done is a "desperate attempt" to fix the "price" or anything else. The value of this and any other crypto will depend on a combination of tech, marketing, adoption, usefulness for a particular purpose, press and luck. There is no point pushing a project on the public that isn't finished or is lacking some key components that would make it real world ready. Patience is truly a virtue and investing in crypto involves lots of virtue. If you are after instant gratification, this is the wrong place... |

devs of VRC are honest no pump and dump!!! exchange's must respect that..!! The problem is that exchanges exactly dont like that. They want pumps and dumbs with huge volume to make money. i know that but they will make an exception with vrc-vrm i think hehe Yes i think that it is quite likely that they do it. vrc is a coin that exist for more then 2 years with a good community and active devs. I dont think exchanges will ignore that when they think about adding vrm. Just a quick note to the team, the import of the private key from my Vericoin wallet to the Varuim wallet went flawlessly. Took about 3 seconds for my top 250 Varium to show up in the wallet. Smooth! Nice work! |
