443  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: ==== Eligius, please pay my 200+ BTC ==== on: July 11, 2014, 01:45:28 AM
Sure he does. He could even 51% attack p2pool to get up to ~200% PPS (at the expense of everyone else).

Could you please explain a 51% p2pool attack in more detail? I mean, lot of people believe, that p2pool is the most decentralized mining option available, and you state, that a 51% attack could be done to p2pool?

p2pool is like a miniature Bitcoin blockchain.  If you had 51% of the p2pool hash rate, you could (more often than not) force your own shares into the sharechain instead of someone elses by forking it until your chain was longer.  I'm not sure what, if any, precautions are present in p2pool to prevent somebody from purposely forking the sharechain in their favor.

An "obvious" one would be making it so nodes ignore a forked chain more than 'X' shares deep, if it all pays out to the same address (indicating somebody forked from the chain to build a longer one that only pays themselves), though all that you'd have to do to combat that is cycle through addresses when making your fork.

In other words, p2pool users would be mining a block which pays almost the entire reward to the attacker, even though they've only done 51% of the actual work.

Hmm, that makes sense to me. So, there is no way of fighting against mining centralization? I thought p2pool is a decent solution...

Thanks eleuthria

not really...in the end, big money will centralize it whether we want it to happen or not...unless the btc coders force them to decentralize idk
444  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: GAW Miners Black Widow 13 Mh/s+ $450!! on: July 11, 2014, 01:22:43 AM
I have one, get maybe $6 a day

$440 / $6 = 73.3 days

I got screwed paying $995 about 2 weeks ago

even at 440 you'll get screwed...ltc diff rate is going to keep climbing for a long time now with all these asics hitting the network...all these ltc miners are pretty much useless now...they'll never mine fast enough to get ROI probably never Sad unless you did like me n bought for a super low price Wink cause they thought it was broken Grin

I saw it,see this:

1.We will ship it separately in 10 to 15 days.
2, 1.1 TH/s (1,100 GH/s) nominal performance; 1700W (estimated at the wall consumption) (You will most likely need a 220v circuit for this as most USA circuits can only handle 1600W max)

8 Hash Boards (Each with 8 FB1600 40nm ASICs)

Ours is 28nm,1T,1000W,shipping in 24hours.If your patience is good and your power is free, that is a good choice.

So I'm back up to 6 days waiting payout.  I quality for one after about 6hrs of mining.

Payout queue is a little long, but I'll clear it out soon with a manual payout.

Sounds like you need to set a higher minimum payout anyway.  You'll pretty much never actually get a payout every 6 hours.  You should set it to at least a full day of earnings.

The simple fact of the matter is that I would like to be paid out at the amount I select or within very close proximity.  For instance if I have selected .1 BTC.  I shouldn't have to wait until its .15 or even .235 to finally get paid.

then either this is not the pool for you or set your payout for a weeks worth or more of mining...then you'll hop to the front of the queue everytime and not have to wait

i have mine on .25 which is a day n half mining...but i don't care how long it takes to payout...hehe i like getting .91btc all at once too Smiley i know my btc is safe which is what matters to me Wink
447  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 1.1THs Bitcoin Asic with redundant power supply in Stock NOW! Zoomhash.com on: July 11, 2014, 12:46:15 AM
If everything in the page is true expected ROI for this miner could be near 3 months according to https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

But the Other countries might take longer. bit scares me a little.

near 3 month ROI from a factory or asic reseller is bout the best your gona get right about now...everything else is 4 month plus to never Grin

450  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS 250mhs VIPER Preorder #67XX on: July 10, 2014, 10:18:58 AM
I want to sell my 250mhs Viper Scrypt ASIC preorder. I ordered very early (within the first few days) with order #67XX.

The total price of the miner was 5,450 GBP (roughly $9,350 USD). I put 1,635 GBP (roughly $2,800 USD) down with a remaining balance of $6,500 USD. The remaining balance is due ASAP, they have extended the deadline for final payment until 2 weeks after their credit card processor is up and running (as of today 7/9/14 it isn't up yet so at least 2 more weeks), and I unfortunately I do not have the cash to pay the remaining balance.

I will sell you access to the account on Alpha-ts site where you can change the email associated with the account, the accounts password, the name/shipping address and make final payment of $6,500 USD to alpha-t.

They are shipping by the end of July and would hate for them to get $2,800 USD out of me for nothing.  I will take 1 BTC in exchange for the account.

**Edited for clarification.

remember to always escrow Wink

Everyone saying they planned to screw us ahead of time is like saying they knew about Gox in 1976 imho.
BS. imho

i call bs too...you can say any asic company plans to screw us the miners just from sheer greed...and if you don't believe that well keep buying those high priced non-roi miners Smiley I'll buy'em off you when you come to your senses for a price that will roi Tongue

456  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: PRICE SLASH. NEW B2 34 MH/s Scrypt mining asic - In stock for EU/UK stock- $2450 on: July 08, 2014, 02:06:14 PM
still don't see it...after 140 days, paying for power, 0% fee pool, and ltc diff. rate not changing still 100 bucks short of ROI Sad and we all know ltc diff rate isn't going down anytime soon...are you guys selling alotta units? you could probably run this thing for a year and still not even break even the way ltc diff rate is gona jump up

The most profitable way to use them is to obviously keep your eye on the new script-coin that are coming out.  Mine the hell out of the new coins on day one or two then stick them in the bag until they rise.  The other way of doing things could be to use a multipool so the machine can mine you the most profitable coin each day.,

Although these are essentially are ltc miner theres much more to them than that.

If i can get 10 orders together i can do a fantastic price of just $1850 on these machines does that now sound more appealing?

Kinda but I can only buy 1...still not much room for profit...n why would I buy a miner to then sit there n baby sure it to try n roi? It should do that on its own...that is what I'm buying it for...only ppl getting rich is the factories...hell why are they even bothering to sell them?
457  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [for sale] In stock SP 10 miners, 1450 gh, 0.8 w/gh (15 units) on: July 08, 2014, 01:55:52 PM
In 1-2 months why would anyone want one? the SP30's will be more available at 6TH/s for ~$5,000

Good luck trying to sell the SP10's for more than $1500 each now, (I'll take a few at $1500 by the way)

Plus in 1-2 months I have no doubt there will be bigger and  badder stuff out there for a lot cheaper.

+1 was thinking the same thing...oh well let him hold them n mine with them...Then in a month he'll be stuck with them and soon the hosting fee will eat all his profits Smiley

I want to sell my 250mhs Viper Scrypt ASIC preorder. I ordered very early (within the first few days) with order #67XX.  I paid 1,635 gpd down, the remainder is due ASAP and I unfortunately do not have the cash to pay it.  You will be responsible for the remaining 3,849.99 gbp.  They are shipping to you by the end of July.  I will accept BTC or LTC and am willing to hear all offers.

good luck with this Smiley

Yeah thanks, I figured I'm just SOL but it's worth a try, maybe someone will want it for a steep discount.

i'll take it for a steep discount Smiley somewhere along the lines of i can actually ROI with it...hehe Wink doubt you'd go that steep thou...cause then you'd just keep it

I've got 6 TerraMinerIV's on here (and a lot of other miners).

Checking stats today.. #5 had its title changed, NMC address removed. What in the actual F.

got a virus from somewhere you don't know about? someone nabbed your wallet.dat file? you have it password protected right? I just don't see how someone can change this otherwise...unless your using an online wallet...that would be easier to steal with virus Smiley if so, i'd use QT right away and switch yer password on like everything just to be safe

someone hacked my btc-e account somehow...didn't even get a virus or anything...just one day saw a login from an IP that was wasn't mine...oh well lucky i didn't store anything in there Wink after being lucky dodging the gox issue i thought best to keep all my coins in wallets i control Smiley go me!
