Order#12** "in progress" paid June 5th.  Are they giving btc to reg orders?  Meaning non-hosting customers?

This is a stupid thread. How do we know if there is any new news? We don't. Create a new temporary thread for every news article, that is the point of a forums.

How would you know if there is news if a new thread was created every time? Check forum threads or check watchlist... seems about the same to me
Well, maybe the guy who started this thread will update the first post as news appears?  And post the update in the thread as well?  Also maybe if we stopped complaining, this thread could be productive?

What if the "greater than 400 by a significant margin" they promise Jupiter orders is actually a free Saturn?

I am sure that is not their intention, or else we would have been advised to buy larger or more PSUs
I think he meant it more in a GH/s fashion, and not a real unit.
Yeah, but we'd still need more Psu.  I don't think that's much of a problem for most.

my miner went idol

American Idol?

Idle is the word you're looking for.  Any router worth using will restart the connection if it dies.
LOL!  I suck at spelling.  I have a Linksys WRT160N.  It was the best when it came out.  I guess I'll have to reinvest.  Any suggestions on a model that will restart?

We still on track for shipping in Sept right?

no
I know we've been over this before.  There's basically 3 groups of people, imho.  Day 1 production, day 2, and everyone else.  I believe, and this is just me, that day 1 & 2 people will be shipped Sept 28th & 30th.  Everybody else will be shipped before Oct 15th based upon the order customers paid, not order number.

I did a sample shipping calculation on ups.com from Sweden to US.  If shipped Sept. 30th, it will arrive by end of day Oct 4th.  That seems pretty fast.  What kind of shipping times should we expect?  I have a day 2 Jupiter and a 2xxx paid order for a Jupiter.  I think my 2nd order is earlier in the queue.  I predict I'll receive one on Oct 4th and then Oct 11th'ish.  Everyone else will receive theirs by Oct 19th at the latest, that is from Stockholm to my house.

Today, while away from home, my miner went idol because my internet connection timed out. There's nothing wrong with my service.  My modems need power cycled every so often.  Although it's been happening more lately.  I need to power cycle my modem and router.  Is there such a device that will do this for you if the internet connection goes down?  The device would have to power cycle the router first then the modem.  Then wait for a successful connection.  Any ideas?  Thx!

Remotely power cycle your modem/router is possible. You simple select remote access in your modem/router setting. But I will not recommend you to do this. Because this is a security risk. If you can remotely access your modem/router. So can others, who managed to guess your username and password.

I think a better option, is to update your modem/router firmware. This might help. Or if your modem/router is over 2 years old, it might be time to get a new one.
I'll check when I get home today. I'm freaking out because I had a Lowes delivery guy over yesterday and I mentioned I worked nights.  Then for the first time ever, my miner connected to my pc goes idol.  My Mac is offline too.  I'm hoping there's a device that can remotely power cycle another device.

Has batch #1 from KnC shipped yet?  I'm getting ready to pull out of BFL and re-invest back into KnC for their November batch #2 target.  Any words out there?

Hmm, there has been no discussion for quite some time regarding KNC shipping anything.  They must have gone out of business.  No one has posted in this thread in many weeks.

You should probably just keep your BFL order.  They really seem like your best option.
That's kinda true, for a 518 page thread there is probably about 5 pages of on topic content. One of the most derailed ASIC threads I have seen.

Go Steelers!!!!!!!!

So you wanna talk speculation? So how fast is the Jupiter really going to be? What will the overclocking potential be like if they are actually pushing say 500GHs at a low clock speed? (I don't think 500GHs is wildly optimistic based on KNC's recent comments) Will overclocking be even more beneficial because of the extra baseline speed? Overclocking 15% on a 500GHs rig should yield 25% more speed increase than overclocking a 400GHs machine, right? 75GHs increase versus a 60GHs increase according to my simpleton math skills.

My money is on 600 GH/s
It can't be too high.  They said a 850w Psu will cover it.  I'm glad I bought 1000w.

Once you guys get your miners in hand what pools will you consider using and why?
btcguild via PPLNS for the 3% fee.  Easy to withdrawal and monitor on my iphone.

I keep seeing people mentioning the upcoming monarchs from BFL in with other companies adding to the increase...but I have to wonder who would trust them enough to (pre)order one ? I think people aren't so stupid as to ignore all the companies who have royally screwed customers this year (monarch may be an insider jest about them doing that?) ...so when KnC deliver on time and with better rigs than spec, wouldn't prudent buyers wait that few months for a gen 2 that may give them a chance to break even because it will at least arrive in good time? Who takes a risk when they can avoid it?

If this is even half true then a lot of this increase might be delayed until KnC gen 2 ..which is early 2014..
If I wasn't already waiting and was looking to buy a rig now, I'd see how KnC performed compare to the others ...and probably go with the one that was trustworthy with the additional bonus that gen 2 won't be the 1st attempt so should run smoother.
Just speculation but KNC gen 2 will be the same as gen 1.  Maybe they'll add a logo sticker in with the package.  That and they're not going to overclock future Jupiter orders. I have a feeling they're doing that just to reward early adopters/customers.

they arent overclocking shit. the chips are going to be hashing at maximum efficiency from knc. WHERE has it said that november orders are not going to run above 400ghs? THIS IS NOT HARD TO UNDERSTAND. jesus christ people are daft.
Please reread, "Just speculation."  Maybe "overclocking" was the wrong choice of words.  I should have said "they're not going to give extra hashing power to future Jupiter orders."  I sincerely apologize for being such a raving bedlamite.

Thanks!!

My Army friend said, "What if your grandchild was to come up with the cure for cancer?"  Thought provoking.
No it isn't. You can't judge the value of a person's life based on what they might do in the future. By that logic, you might as well say "What if your grandchild was to become the next Hitler?"
LOL!  That's pretty good.  He likes the cancer theory, I hate to burst his bubble.

Key words: trophic cascades, riparian zones, ungulates, water supply, wolves, ecosystem services.

Also: symbiotic relationships, companionship.

Answer: kill the family. Save the canines.
And why?

I already know why, else I would not have been able to belt out those key terms.

The real question is, do you disagree with me?
I agree with you.  I just can't articulate why in scientific terms.  I agree from a logical, non-emotional standpoint.  I agree with mearylll about soldiers having to sacrifice what they care about the most for the "greater good."

My Army friend said, "What if your grandchild was to come up with the cure for cancer?"  Thought provoking.

My friend is in the Army.  They asked his "squad" this question, they had to answer with an explanation.

Either your family dies (all extended relatives) or the whole canine race (all dogs) go extinct. Which would you choose and why?

My personal question here is what would happen to the global ecosystem without dogs?

Thx!
