4403  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 16, 2016, 10:35:01 PM
Just got back in to see that we briefly crossed $1000 CAD.

Onward and upward.
4404  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 16, 2016, 05:38:09 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we've kept most of last night's gains... $732 on Bitcoin average.

We didn't quite hit $1000 CAD but it was a nice little rise and seems to have leveled out nicely.

Onward and upward.
4405  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 16, 2016, 01:30:42 PM
Seems to be leveling off.

I'm going back to bed. See you at the crack of noon.
4406  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 16, 2016, 01:03:41 PM
Well well well. Just woke up to answer the call of nature and what do I see?

$739 USD / $998 CAD according to Bitcoinaverage.

Great timing but now I don't want to go back to bed.

Keep going or serious retrace?

This is the third time this year we've flirted with a grand Canadian. Will it stick this time?
4407  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 15, 2016, 07:59:53 PM
Don't get left behind.

HODL

Indeed. But don't just hold.

Accumulate!

4408  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 15, 2016, 05:06:57 PM
Top o' the mornin' Bitcoinland.

Creeping ever so slowly in the right direction... $714 at Bitcoinaverage.

Time to get moving up again?

4409  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 14, 2016, 05:47:30 PM
(And for the record, I only bring up the $699.9999 thing to rub it in the noses of all those trolls constantly repeating the false mantra that China drives all of Bitcoin, including actual volume interest and pricing. Clearly they don't.)

Don't sweat it. I actually made reference to it when the price ended up at exactly $699.9. Likewise I don't mind the Salma Hayek pix and I think all non-Americans found the recent election amusing.

I was just playing with Edgar.

Cheers!

Like it or not:
Chain is FIAT money for PnD BTC scam.

gd morning bitcoinland,

coffee

baseball

sideways

pot....kettle....

kthxbye

LOL I guess I had that coming. Here, I'll let you post my morning greeting.  Cheesy

It seems there are lots of broken records around here... Donald and Hillary, Salma Hayek, $699.9999, big crash in January, etc., etc.

I shouldn't have centered out the troll for constantly repeating the mantra of "Chain is FIAT money for PnD BTC scam".

That said, you might want to get more up to date. I just had to check my recent posting history and it seems that in the past month I used the term "sideways" exactly twice, made only one baseball reference (the season's over for this year) and never once mentioned coffee.

I suppose some people might find my morning greeting tedious but when the subject came up before, I was surprised how many people were supportive of it so I continued.

I hope it doesn't bug you too much. To the rest of Bitcoinland, enjoy the day.
__________

P.S. I almost forgot to mention, the price of Bitcoin seems stagnant... $705 on Bitcoinaverage at the moment.

Maybe I should mention coffee after all.  Grin

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Looks like we're about halfway back from yesterday's little dip... $704 on Bitcoinaverage.

All that huffing and puffing about the USA election and we're right back where we were.
4413  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm dumping my bitcoins so you should on: November 11, 2016, 08:24:35 PM
BTC hit ~$1275 in Nov 2013.

3 years later it is ~$700,
Still ~$575 in the hole for 3 years. Looks like it went down to me.

in 2013 I also bought Bitcoin for 65 dollars.....  its all in the way you look at it

Indeed.

Bears seem to think everybody paid over $1000 for their coins while bulls assume everybody paid under $100.

Meanwhile, many whales paid under $1.

Overall Bitcoin has increased dramatically over its almost 8 year lifetime. There was only one calendar year in which Bitcoin decreased in price. That was 2014.

It's amazing how some people cling to 2014 as if it were the norm instead of an anomaly.
4414  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 11, 2016, 05:45:53 PM
Hopefully we can have a run at $800 before Christmas hey buddy.

There's lots of time before Xmas.

It's been going up fairly steadily since the FUDscam ZeroHedge article caused a panic over a week ago. Before that it rose impressively for 2 weeks.

Patience is a virtue. Let's just sit back and enjoy the show.
4415  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 11, 2016, 04:51:17 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still sidling along in the $720 range I see... $719 on Bitcoinaverage.

Seems the US election was no big deal after all.

Hopefully we'll see a rise soon.

I'm curious about the Salma Hayek images that you've posted many times. Any specially symbolism involved or do you just like her? Is it her acting? Her cleavage? Huh
4416  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 09, 2016, 04:41:33 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

I see we lost about half of the gains from last night's US "election" results... currently $728 on Bitcoinaverage.

Really, that's not much movement from an event that was supposed to be so important.

4417  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trump being new POTUS - how it will affect Bitcoin in the long run? on: November 09, 2016, 08:54:23 AM
For years China has led Bitcoin in not only mining but in trading (even disregarding obvious zero-fee trade volumes).

Do you rally think they give a shit about whether Tweedle Dumber or Tweedle Dumbest won the "election" for some figurehead presidency of some foreign country?

They don't even care about what the Bilderbergers or Bohemian Grovers think, and they're international in scope..
4418  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 09, 2016, 08:36:46 AM
Now Trumped has trumped, the title of this thread can take on a new meaning........where can we observe the price of bricks and concrete? Spiked up, right?  Tongue

Bricks and concrete? How about barbed wire?  Cool
4419  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 07, 2016, 06:04:38 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still going sideways I see... currently $709 on Bitcoinaverage.

No weekend rally nor dip. Still digesting last week's FUD rumors and awaiting whatever will happen (if anything) with tomorrow's USA "election".

But JimboT, we already know from your many admissions against interest that you have very little will power when it comes to beer and java, so even though you could have had enough satoshis for 16 beers if you had hung onto the BTC transaction, wouldn't it be safe to assume that you only got 4 beers out of it?   Cry Cry
They only accept Canadian dollars where I was playing, so that's what I used to buy what beer I had to buy myself. Between complimentary beers and those bought for me by members of the audience, I don't usually spend a lot on beer when I'm gigging.

As for my gifted satoshis, they're still in my phone wallet. I only spend my bitcoins when i absolutely must. The last I spent was to buy a couple hundred dollars to take to the ballpark back in June. I was able to buy them back a couple of weeks later after the price dipped.
4420  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 06, 2016, 10:52:08 PM
only exchange can run that BTC scam.

I'll overlook the fact that you're an obvious troll and bite the bait.

Scam? To which scam exactly do you refer? Exchanges scamming people into leaving coins in their trust instead of keeping them securely offline?

That's really not much different than banks scamming people into leaving their money deposited in accounts which yield no appreciable growth while charging fees for the "service" and then lending out said money to 3rd parties at higher interest rates.

There's really no reason to use exchanges. I haven't used a Bitcoin exchange since 2013 when MtGox imploded.

Some of the coins I acquired since then I mined myself, some I bought directly from other miners, some came from fully anonymous BTC ATMs, some I received for services rendered, and some came from donations.

I even received enough to buy 4 beers as a tip while playing music onstage. Someone in the audience saw my Bitcoin baseball cap, sought me out during the next break and asked if I had a wallet app on my phone. It may not seem like much but the value of those satoshis has quadrupled since.
