4421  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hit 1500 earned merits so far. on: October 27, 2020, 06:07:07 AM
Congratulations coolcryptovator, this is not a rank up per se, cause you're already Legendary, but 1500+ merits is a good achievement and a source of inspiration/encouragement to others; you're one of the laid-back guys in the forum from my observations and you're always trying to help newbies and forum users to be safe from scammers by reporting it when you find a new modus operandi this scammers/hackers operate with.

You're also a good campaign manager as I've been in few of your campaigns in the past and I can have no reason not to recommend you to any firm or company looking for a reliable CM, you've done well on the forum all this years, it's going to be a dream come true for many of us (me) to come close to your achievements someday.
4422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: e billing cash in telegram on: October 27, 2020, 05:29:42 AM
has anyone came across this e-billing cash in telegram? please advice if this is legit or not ..thanks
No user is yet to understand what exactly is this e-billing cash in Telegram, I suppose you were contacted via private message, how did you find about this e-billing cash or whatever, on a Telegram group/channel or through a personnel on TG? AFAIK there's no such thing, I've not heard about it before, I've surfed the internet and still yet nothing.

It's good you're verifying, for now we can state categorically that it's not legit, are they asking you for funds, private keys, seed phrase or requesting you to deposit to them, stay away from this 'e-billing cash' you found in TG unless it is proven to be legit, which I honestly think it definitely is not. Take responsibility of your funds and don't let scammers trick you out of it due to avarice.

Even after playing 5 matches, Man city has not been able to come to form yet. I thought they would be the next champion!
City have played five matches and scored only eight goals, that's pretty much all anyone needs to know on how poor they have been thus far this season. With all the attacking firepower at peps disposal, they should have scored much more than that and earned more points of course, pep is usually never under pressure of losing his job in all his previous clubs, but if City continue in this way, then City could actually be looking to change their manager if the need arises.

Chelsea vs United ends in a draw, tbh, it's a good result for both ole and Frank, a loss for either of them would have somewhat put their job on the line, or put them under too much pressure in the next games.

4425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This will make any positive impact in crypto space? on: October 24, 2020, 03:37:48 PM
To add to what jrrsparkles has said already, be it the Digital ruble, digital Yuan or dollar, we can only expect a centralized 'digital' fiat, so don't let this news create any furore in your mind, and mind you it won't have any impact on the dex 'crypto space', as you asked in your op. I think down the next decade, almost every country, mostly the developed ones will have a CBDC of it's own, afterwards the third world countries will follow suit. It's all about their centralized economies, plus a bid to make their currency more useful and an added value.

Mind you that there is also a bit of competition in all of this; first China, U.S. and now Russia, this are the world powers, they have to do whatever it takes so as not to fall back against their competitors, even if my country launches a CBDC, I don't think I'll be using it, except it's extremely necessary, dex crypto gives us control and freedom, added with a responsibility of our funds, this is what no country's CBDC is going to offer.
4426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you really use alts for the purpose they're supposedly created for? on: October 24, 2020, 09:04:15 AM
Imo, there should actually be no exact reason to use dex cryptocurrencies, it presents quite a lot of opportunities for it's users, and in whichever way anyone of those users choose to use it is totally fine. BTC for example can be used for a plethora of purposes, some users simpy just hodl it and have not capitalized on it's feature as a payment option, but it really changes nothing on the network, everyone cannot use a coin for a particular purpose, it'll serve many purposes for many users at different times.

For altcoins, many of them aren't really true to their use cases, so most investors are only out to make profit from it when they can, plus the value can dump pretty fast, I think I can say that for users to use a coin mainly for the reason it was created, they need to trust the coin, it's value, they have to be sure it's not just a pump and dump coin, without that trust, they'll only just buy, try and make some ROI and sell immediately, so they don't meet any losses.
4427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, the complete version of money. For beginners. on: October 24, 2020, 08:27:50 AM
Bitcoin is money, the first successful decentralized currency, which was created as an alternative to centralized fiats and also altenative to money that are vulnerable to physical thefts like thereby fulfilling what early days money can not fulfill.
Bitcoin is a form of 'money' that's not vulnerable to physical thefts as we all know, it can't be of course, cause it's in a digital form, but it's pretty vulnerable to quite a lot of scams which results in theft/loss of Bitcoin, and many individuals wrongly believe that their funds are much better being vulnerable to govt manipulation and fiat inflation/depreciation, than taking up the responsibility of handling and controlling their funds that Bitcoin gives to them, and this misconception imo stems from the wrong presentation of Bitcoin in the news as an asset that can easily be stolen and lost to scammers.

I appreciate more topics such as this, that doesn't have as it's content a Bitcoin scam, a hardware wallet compromised, exchange hacked etc, let more users and newbies be aware of the fact that with just a little effort and responsibility to their privacy and protection, they can keep their btc without losing it, and avoid fiat Inflation and devaluation via that process.
4428  Economy / Economics / Re: Lend at Hodl Hodl: True P2P Bitcoin lending is here on: October 23, 2020, 01:25:41 PM
Now or then the user is supposed to provide collateral to get fund.
After reading the article, it's clear that the collateral is going to be paid/provided in btc and not through any other means. See excerpt:
Quote
Truly P2P. Only P2P collateral and payments. Your collateral will be Bitcoin, and all payments will be made with stablecoins
User can't hide his identity, is there anything specifically mentioned as the collateral for lending.
As has been said already, the collateral is in btc and as for users identity, it looks like it's going to be protected/remain private, see excerpt:
Quote
Zero-KYC. You only share your crypto addresses with your counterparty. No banking details, no locations, nothing.
With the info mentioned in the excerpt above, none of it actually reveals a lender or borrowers identity to the other party

That being said, it looks a good development for Bitcoin and it should be convenient for users who will try it out. I believe people will use this service, and I like it (plus it's good for adoption) when Bitcoin provides services that only fiat and few other assets have provided for quite a long time now.
4429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is the development of the Balancer Coin (BAL). on: October 23, 2020, 11:20:41 AM
It is also important to take into account all the value and uniqueness of the project itself, whether it can be profitable and whether the market really needs it.
This rule of thumb is one of the most vital when it comes to acquiring altcoins, most of them are reincarnated ideas that other project developers have used before and honestly many of them used those ideas to only scam investors, so with new projects adopting the very same pattern/model, they cannot be said to be original/unique or if it won't be another exit scam/failed project, plus if it won't only last for a pretty short time, more like pumping and then dumping after a few weeks or sometimes even less.

Thing is if the market/network doesn't need a coin/project, there's no way it can actually succeed, most especially in the long run, it can hold it's own for the meantime, but with time, it'll outlive it's usefulness it didn't even have in the first place, like I said before, I wouldn't consider many altcoins as long term investments. I like ethereum though, and they are about to launch eth 2.0, looks much better to accumulate eth, the eth network looks like it's up for a spike going forward.
4430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: October 23, 2020, 10:39:50 AM
I wouldn't concern myself with who's at the top of the table at such an early stage of the season...
Of course, in terms of winning the league, but for the smaller teams, like Aston Villa for example, if they win today, that'll be five wins (100% record), with a game in hand, and it already makes it kinda impossible for them to be relegated at the end of the season, except they experience a really terrible capitulation; as five wins is already more than half of the games they won in the entire last season (9 IIRC).
I really dislike Chelsea so I hope they change 15 managers in the next 3 seasons.
Lol, that's not beyond Roman Abramovich, Lampard should be given more time imo, even if he does not deliver anything this season, jurgen Klopp was given quite a while at anfield, before he was able to land the big trophies for Liverpool.
4431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How is the development of the Balancer Coin (BAL). on: October 23, 2020, 07:34:19 AM
Hello Yoshie, you seem to be interested in altcoins for the past few months now, as I've seen you ask some questions about some of them for quite a while now, it's cool though, but you need to invest with some caution. Altcoins aren't really coins for long term investment due to how they can pump and dump pretty fast; I'll use DeFi projects as an example, majority of them have plunged so bad in the last weeks, and have lost their hype and value, this has led to users questioning DeFi if it actually has come to an end.

As for this Balancer coin (BAL), I've not really heard too much about it and despite the fact it could be doing well now, you cannot be very sure it'll continue like that, you can play around with it with a small amount of your funds for the sake of it. Finally, BTC is on a run now, I think you should rather consider increasing your Bitcoin portfolio, we could be heading for a new atm soon. Cheers Yoshie.

I don’t think Real madrid will win anything this season. I'm a fan of real madrid, but I really doubt that real madrid will be able to be champion of something
Too early to say that imo, there's the UCL, laliga and Copa del Rey up for grabs and if you ask me Real Madrid should be able to get one of them, is it even possible to write them off from getting more than one? It's a bad start for Real in all competitions, but we've seen this happen in the past, and they still end up having a good season. I trust Zidane to get things right again. There's no favorites for now in the UCL, except prolly Bayern, but Madrid is always a team with the possibility of winning that trophy, as they've done on numerous occasions, more than any other team actually.
*Bayern proved they are still a "wild team" & Luis Suarez still hasn't made a big contribution to the ATM.
Bayern were simply the better team, the loss had nothing to do with Luiz Suarez or his impact in athletico, imo, he actually hasn't been bad since signing for them.
4434  Other / Politics & Society / Re: They kill us at nights and sympathize with us by day on: October 22, 2020, 03:25:02 PM
If you use bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, then you are a criminal to Nigeria SARS
It's so bad that this agents of the so called special anti-robbery squad also have their own Bitcoin wallets, there have been numerous occasions when they stopped young men, went through their phones/devices and found btc wallets such as electrum or other types and forcefully transferred btc to their own wallets, it's that terrible here in Nigeria and the government have done nothing about this for so long, that's why the protests is as heated as it is now and heading to a revolution the way things are moving.

This criminals in police uniforms have done more harm than good to the country, the government is one of the corrupt in the entire world, the last thing the masses needs is police brutality to add to that, and that's why citizens are as bitter as they are at the moment, the protests started peacefully, but atm, things have turned violent and there's been so much killings already, if this movement will oust the government and bring about a better Nigeria for Nigerians, then it has yielded something unprecedented.
4435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How safe it is to give a away personal detail to SwissBorg on: October 22, 2020, 09:02:57 AM
my name, residential address, identity verification.
Personally, I don't feel relaxed giving away such personal detail, am I overreacting  and it is safe or you think the same as I?
When you give out your residential address to a website, then you expose yourself to the possibility of a $5 wrench attack, and we've seen that happen quite a couple of times, plus those that go unrecorded. I don't know the website called SwissBorg, but I know that users data are usually sold on the black market, and if you complete KYC on some sites, there's no way to be sure yours won't be sold.

Users have given informations like this, only for their mail box to be spammed with phishing links that they click and their device gets compromised, imo, I think you should stop anything KYC related, it's your responsibility to protect yourself and to uphold your privacy, whatever use you have of the site may not actually be worth your private data/info being sold to scammers/hackers.

And I am using this period to thank you people to get me to this rank, many of you always see my post worthy and quality. Without you people, I wouldn't have made it far, thank you.
Congratulations and thanks to you too for trying as much as possible to post HQ stuff that teaches users on the forum something new and original, and that's what makes a user worthy of earning the merits that you've earned in just this span of time; I read all the threads in your op when you initially posted them, and they taught me something I didn't know before then, and I'm sure other members had that same feeling, that's why they didn't find it difficult to merit you every now and again.

I'll advice you continue this way, not just to earn merits or to get to Legendary rank (which is next), but because you want newbies and other ranks as well to continue to learn a lot from your topics, be it about Bitcoin, their privacy, protection, the responsibility they owe their funds, wallets they ought to use, etc, great job mate.
4437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 21, 2020, 06:59:01 AM
In my opinion, Ozil's best bet now would be to find another club where his services would be needed an appreciated. The fact that he's still at Arsenal and not featuring in any of their matches is uncalled for. Oil was one of my favorite midfielder before his move from Real Madrid but not anymore.
+1 to that, just take a look at James Rodriguez at Everton right now, it looked like his career was over at real Madrid, as he went on different loans, but didn't really shine, nor did he get himself back in form, but since he moved to Everton and reunited with a manager he loves to work with: Carlo Ancelloti, his performances in the four games Everton have played this season have been outstanding and imo, thus far he's looked like the best player in the epl (I mean in the games played so far).

So despite Mesut Ozil's age, I think he should move to a different club, no matter the cost, a paycut or whatever, what should matter to a footballer is that he is doing what he loves most, and that should be playing week in, week out. The more he stays at Arsenal, the more it looks like his career is over, Ozil gave assists for fun back then, it's crazy Sad.

4439  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New phishing campaign uses Coinbase email on: October 20, 2020, 03:34:49 PM
So this criminals are gong to exploit everything, this time a Coinbase email to get access to your own email, it will be damaging if you have some crypto related stuff in your inbox.
Yeah, this phishing is pretty dangerous for users who keep information about their wallet stored in their mail box, or any of their private data/info, the scammers will use it to either compromise their wallets or to ask for a ransome if they get any useful personal data about the person, that's why as a rule of thumb, anything of your crypto stuff that can lead to your wallet imported elsewhere, should either be written down safely somewhere or if saved on a device, it should be offline.

It can't be repeated enough that users should not click on random links, and should always verify from the official website whenever they get a mail that requires then to click on a link attached to it to be sure it's a legitimate update or whatever. Clearing your mail box is also another good practice imo
4440  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can i earn merit very quickly? on: October 20, 2020, 02:34:24 PM
I recommended to start trading so that you could share your experience here in the forum, and at the same time, you could start earning your own profit.
Imo, this is not an acceptable proposal/advice or recommendation for a newbie, trading is not what a newbie should jump at just to share trading experiences (for the sake of merits or anything at all). Your post may not mean this, but newbies can mistake it to be, and get the wrong message. Users should trade cause they feel they have gained the knowledge to do so and cause they want to make profits from it, sharing trading experiences is not bad in itself, but mind you that if a newbie trades just to share their experiences and expect merits, then they can start trading without having knowledge, make no ROI and lose all funds in their wallets.
