Where did they admit this? This dafar account has obviously changed hands though because the person in charge of it is now claiming to be a female: 1) An IP address is useless. 2) Theymos won't do that. 3) If you truly desire that information, then subpoena the forum. 4) That won't bring back the tokens anyways.
Hello, I am a victim of this story. I did everything to fix things. The bounty manager before me spaceman_spiff (Cartaxi had confidence in him and let him access the spreadsheet, I specify that he has a Lauda red trust and more) had access to spreadsheets and said he was hacked. I was alerted at the last moment of change of address I went quickly and restore old. A disaster has been avoided and I invite you to check your tokens. If they have not arrived I can not take responsibility. Maria. So you're claiming to be someone called Maria? This account has certainly changed hands if so. When and who did you buy this account from?

If you report them they'll be trashed. That entire board should be retired and locked/archived now anyway as it's redundant and serves no real purpose other than to facilitate sig spammers to legally get away with copy and pasting (whether manually or with bots). Any notable press mention that is worthy of discussion can just be posted in the main sub anyway.
|
|
|
No, you're right, they are posting shit but probably not because they know the thread won't get deleted. A lot of them will be using bots so maybe it just chooses the top thread and a lot of them are just copying posts from earlier in the thread as well. I nuke both instances.
|
|
|
It can only go down if that one post is deleted. If all your posts from one period get deleted then you will lose that activity forever.
|
|
|
Yes, it's an eyesore and complete spamfest. The bounty boards (including games and rounds) shouldn't count towards activity or post count at all and I have recently suggested as such. It's an absolute nightmare and incredibly time-consuming trying to moderate the 'joined' and 'thanks for the airdrop' type posts (not to mention incredibly futile. Many people are obviously only doing it to easily farm accounts because sometimes their entire post history just consists of claiming bounties etc. I've even seen numerous people post such things when there's no actual airdrops available so it's ripe for abuse.

That's because the thread has either been deleted or sent to the trashcan for whatever reason. The solution is don't post or start low quality threads.

Can't we just ban campaign managers who don't blacklist these types of spammers though?
Someone who just posts phrases completely void of any information shouldn't be getting paid, since they are actively creating a bad image around crypto and the projects they are supposed to promote with their actions.
It would be a bit excessive IMO. They aren't guilty of paying people to spam. They are guilty of neglecting their job as managers and not monitoring users like they should be. If people are spamming they are negatively impacting the campaign and through it the business that paid for this campaign. It's not like campaign managers have to get banned straight off when a spammer gets through the sieve every now and then. But they should be held accountable in some way if they repeatedly proceed payments for spammers. It seems like the easiest way to solve the issue, since there are far less managers than spamming accounts. It's going to be difficult to stop spamming without stopping the root cause of it, which are the monetary rewards that these spammers get. I have proposed that badly run campaigns have their entire threads trashed and possibly accounts banned for those that do nothing about spam and pay hundreds-unlimited users for whatever crap they can be bothered to churn out, but as usual nothing is done about it. If there's no repercussions for laziness or ineptitude then why would anyone bother to actually do any hard work when they don't need to? The forum is a sinking ship just circling the drain at this point and if something doesn't change quick there's only one place it'll go. It's tedious, time-consuming and thankless work banning people which is ultimately pointless when people just evade their ban on half a dozen alt accounts and shit campaigns continue to pay them to do so, but many accounts are banned once spotted, such as yourself. Your entire post history here consists of one or two line shitposts posted purely for payment and from what I can see you have contributed absolutely nothing of value.

That'll be one hundred thousand more complaints pretty soon. They can't even respond to their current userbase's customer support requests so shit is about to hit the fan with them. I sent them ten plus messages over 5+ months and didn't get a single response back and couldn't withdraw cash to my bank despite successfully verifying it numerous times. In the end I just bought my coins back and sold them on Kraken without a hitch.

Why is it imperative that you 'get your trust rating up'? For what purpose do you require to be trusted? Trust can only be earned over time but it is more than just a few feedbacks and is more to do with your reputation and standing in the community (which again can only be built over time by being an active member of the forum and engaging in various trades here). With that being said, don't just do trades or activities just for the feedback because that usually has the opposite effect and immediately rings alarm bells.

The quotes in the op lead to non-existent posts so I'm assuming they've already been nuked. This sort of bullshit will only get worse though for as long as signatures are tied to ranks. Farming and botting will never stop otherwise. Another copy and paster, Burks. (who may have been hacked) Bitcoin Mining is a peer-to-peer computer process used to secure and verify bitcoin transactions—payments from one user to another on a decentralized network. Mining involves adding bitcoin transaction data to Bitcoin's global public ledger of past transactions. Bitcoin mining is a lot like a giant lottery where you compete with your mining hardware with everyone on the network to earn bitcoins. Faster Bitcoin mining hardware is able to attempt more tries per second to win this lottery while the Bitcoin network itself adjusts roughly every two weeks to keep the rate of finding a winning block hash to every ten minutes. In the big picture, Bitcoin mining secures transactions that are recorded in Bitcon's public ledger, the block chain. By conducting a random lottery where electricity and specialized equipment are the price of admission, the cost to disrupt the Bitcoin network scales with the amount of hashing power that is being spent by all mining participants.

The image restriction is mainly to stop new accounts that spam stuff like referral/scam links and what not.
How would restricting images stop that? The restriction of prohibiting newbies posting images was due to someone botting the forum with pornographic images. To answer ops question, no, there is currently no way to speed up the process other than getting 30 activity or buying an account. It's hardly a lifetime though is it? I have previously suggested that automatic whitelisting ie removing all newbie restrictions should be included in some new donator ranks so people could pay a small fee to bypass them which I think would be helpful in your situation and stop people just buying accounts to dodge them.

Sadly this forum has mostly become unusable for it's intended purpose. ICO campaigns and the (largely) South East Asian shitposters they pay to spam or copy and paste whatever rubbish they can be bothered to churn out have ruined this forum. Also, because we have a system where the only way you can gain rank and a bigger signature is to make hundreds of posts you have countless users just shitposting as fast as they can over multiple accounts to try hit the required rank. I wouldn't be against what you suggested being implemented and I have suggested something similar that people with self-moderated threads can choose to restrict it by whatever memberclass they choose. However, with your request I think you're forgetting newbies quite quickly become Juniors and then Members etc so it will be largely useless and that's why the problems here are much more complex than just ranks.

Well seeing as you bought it nobody is going to have any sympathy for you. Who did you buy it from because you very likely bought a hacked account.
forum rules are different to purchased and not purchased accounts? Not really, but buying/selling hacked accounts is against the rules. Regardless, good luck trying to get an admin to unban it, especially if you can't provide a verifiable signed message.

Palace have had a couple of other great chances and just missed an open goal. I wouldn't be backing Spurs in this game now especially for more than a goal. It might be worth checking for odds on a 0-1 or 1-1 game. Doesn't look like my 4-0 is going to come in lol.

How do you work that out? As explained above, donations are not used to pay staff and next to nobody is donating. Staff are paid exclusively out of advertisement revenue and donations continue to be used in development of the new forum software.

thats ok but atleast a newbie should be able to change his avatar
Why do you care about an avatar? So you can join a bounty? I think it would be a bad idea to let newbies have avatars because it would just lead to even more abuse by people trying to imposter themselves as veteran users.
