4421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blockchain Gambling on: February 18, 2022, 08:32:43 PM
what is the actual status of Blockchain Gambling, is there now Live-Roulette running? I ask this, because i don' t like to be scammed anymore  through the middle man Online Casino.
It looks like you want to avoid betting through a middleman, that is the online casino in your words. The alternative becomes betting person to person ( on a betting exchange) then. This way you play directly against another gambler, and not against the house, as usual. Unfortunatelly, there isn't any popular crypto p2p gambling platforms yet. As far as I know Betfair is the most popular one right now and you will need to use fiat to gamble there.
4422  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine Just Legalized Bitcoin on: February 18, 2022, 07:59:07 PM
<…>
The important point to note is that the Draft Law defines a VA as merely an asset that cannot be used as a payment instrument or traded for other assets, products, or services.
What are they supposed to do? Just hodl? <…>
That’s precisely the part that struck me most, and which I highlighted when commenting the matter on my local board. From what I gather, you can buy, hold, or trade within the cryptocurrency realm ... But you won’t be able to use it to buy anything is stores or any other type of business.
That is strange, because as the article posted in OP says, ukrainian volunteers and activists are being funded also through cryptocurrency in order to purchase military equipments, medical goods and accessories in general such as drones. If they can't use crypto to buy what they need, it will pointless to fulfill the goal of fortifying their defenses and strength against potential russian attacks.

Even if there is point limiting crypto usage on the law, I think the government will turn a blind eye to it due to the critical situation the country is facing right now. The government won't want to prejudice a patriot ready to defend his country in times like this...
4423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Oscars to include Fan-Favorite Film via Twitter on: February 18, 2022, 05:58:05 PM
I was thinking of the gambling implication of this. What if somebody places a huge bet, say, a million or two, on a particular film and then activates all kinds of bots and thousands of fake Twitter accounts that could spam the platform of votes 20 times a day every single day from the beginning of voting until the end? In other words, is this open for manipulation?
Yes, it's not only possible, but also very likely. I doubt any bookmakers will introduce this betting category on their boards. Furthermore, to only allow Twitter users to vote is too restrictive. Theoretically by doing this, they want to know the public's opinion, but it is not going to work, because most people who are enthusiasts of movies aren't twitter users. The voting method should be wider, more accessible to everyone.

Manipulation for manipulation, oscars organizers could allow a poll on their official site where people would vote up to 20 times a day per IP...

In the way it's being done, it looks more like an orientated and privileged partnership in order to push up Twitter platform importance as main goal after all.
4424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I can't access a casino while my country isn't got blacklisted? on: February 18, 2022, 04:58:40 PM
If there aren't bans, the problem must be something technical.

  • Contact the casino you are trying to access through their forum account for further support;
  • Clear your cookies and browser history;
  • Try to access the casino through a different browser, device or internet connection;
  • Check on google if another people are facing the same issues with this site in particular. If so, there could be a solution or explanation on why it's happening.

Anyway, I doubt there could be something so special on this specific site that isn't disponible on at least one of the another dozen crypto casinos around...
4425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why a single bet is better than a multi bet. on: February 17, 2022, 09:05:36 PM
That's why if we don't have a strategy or don't know how to collect data that helps us analyze the competing teams, we will only choose teams randomly. And if that happens to us, we should choose a single bet so that we don't have trouble choosing a team.
If you don't have a strategy and don't know how to analyze teams and players, doesn't matter if you choose a single or multi bet, the trouble will be the same for both betting styles. When a gambler isn't educated enough on sports' matter, he should just avoid it until he has enough conditions to make a coherent analysis of the match scenario, that will potentially lead him to a winning.
For an uneducated gambler that is still possible to happen within time, effort, patience as he develops learnship and of course, since he has a legit interest for sports and think it's an entertaining subject.
4426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the mathematical formula for determining the value of a bet / odds? on: February 17, 2022, 07:54:58 PM
Taking the opportunity of the purpose of this thread, could anyone answer if there is a kind of "central gambling authority" who/which is the first to determine the odds of a match by himself/itself, so another platforms take that as reference, using those same values inside their own sites as well? Let's say, minor gambling sites copy the odds from larger and more popular gambling sites. Is it what happen for real?
4427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The most reliable coin to invest in is Bitcoin. on: February 17, 2022, 07:27:02 PM
Although the price of Bitcoin has dropped a lot, this coin does not disappoint me because I have full confidence in this coin. I think and believe that the price of this currency will not decrease for a long time, it will one day exceed its maximum value. Which happened towards the end of 2021.
Probably most investors think like you, and thanks to this fact, a strong support community has been built along the years which keep bitcoin price on the price range we see right now, with the possibility of rising to new ATH levels yet when the market becomes highly optimistic. That is the power of confidence bitcoin was able to create among its enthusiasts. So far there hasn't been any disappointments strong enough to break this chain of trust.

The future of bitcoin is bright because of investors like you.

crypto users will go to other alts to diversify their portfolio and possibly gain profits but they will always go back to btc as their main crypto holding. because as we've seen, alts come and go, but btc keeps its position in the market. we can always invest in other alts and find some profitable ones. but most of them are not worth holding long term as the lifespan is usually questionable.
this is why most crypto holders always have btc as part of their stash. because you can't question anymore its reliability.
Furthermore, even if investors go through altcoins' path for faster gains, it's advisable to always keep most of the holdings in bitcoin. Being very conservative, I would say to store at least 80% of crypto funds in bitcoin, doesn't matter the scenario. 20% is a good margin to play with altcoins, although I would risk only 5% of that total amount with questionable altcoins. So 15% of that money would be invested in promising altcoins such as ethereum, since it's a pretty solid one, or any other which guarantee extra benefits inside determined investment platforms like FUN, CRO, NEXO and so on...
4428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you regret when you miss selling at ATH followed by a correction on: February 16, 2022, 08:42:46 PM
After knowing I missed the ATH, of course I feel bad for not selling my coins. But that is something we can't predict before it happens, so there isn't much to do about it. If I knew bitcoin was going to crash after hiting 69,000$ I would have sold everything and invested all my profit again when it reached 40,000$ later.
However, since it's not possible to time market's fluctuations accurately, the best to do is to keep holding always thinking on long run returns. Personally I prefer to regret for not selling at ATH than regret for selling it for despair, fear or anxiety on the wrong moment.
4429  Economy / Economics / Re: Canada to freeze Freedom Convoy Protestors bank accounts... on: February 16, 2022, 07:36:18 PM
If governments are confident the vaccines are effective, why do they have to demand sanitary passports from workers to maintain their jobs and access to their territories? Theoretically only those who denied the vaccine are going to be prejudiced, so let them live accordingly to what they believe, consequently suffering the results of their personal choices.

On the other hand, trucks' drivers can't stop and sabotage the economy of a country where majority parcel of the population endorses the vaccination (80% are vaccinated). Furthermore, it's not positive for bitcoin the fact it's being used to sponsor these protests. OP mentioned 21 bitcoins were collected. That is a lot of money! Who would be interested in funding these activities with so large amounts of money which will indeed prejudice Canada's economy?

These protests seem to have nothing to do with "freedom", it's just another political agenda being pushed up making using of bitcoin and crypto in general as tool for its shady purposes in pursuit for political power and supremacy.

4431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lies and critics about bitcoins on: February 14, 2022, 11:48:02 PM

At same time there are many lies about bitcoin, which of course must be completely exposed and then ignored next. Actually, lies aren't a big issue on long run, because they don't last longer when put face to face with the facts and the reality.

Actually there are a lot of lies about Bitcoin spread by Bitcoin haters, and that can make people who don't understand Bitcoin wrong in
understanding Bitcoin. Finally people who misunderstood Bitcoin, become negative about Bitcoin and it only prevents them get benefit
from Bitcoin. Therefore, it is important to seek information from trusted sources, so that we can get correct information and avoid lies.
But somehow the lie will not last as long as you say, because sooner or later the real truth will be revealed, especially now we are very easy
to get information. So we can compare the various information, and we get to find out the truth.
Yes, that is it. For an example, look how many news sites and posts on the internet in general have said during past years bitcoin was dead, that it would never recover after the bear market of 2018 and that it was a ponzi scheme. On those times people making such statements made complete sense, they looked totally right, but then time passed and showed they were wrong.

The same happens with that argument saying bitcoin mining demands too much electricity, so it is harmful to the environment, but the fact this electricity would be used in a way or another is ignored by critics.
4432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who’s who in the gambling subforum? on: February 14, 2022, 11:25:57 PM
Indeed. Anyone is capable to be an expert in a certain field particularly gambling. Investing in yourself by fueling up your knowledge would be of great help if you want to be good at it. These people that were mentioned were knowledgeable because they exerted effort and time to know what they have to know about sports for example to make a calculated and strategic prediction on who will win or who has the more chances of getting the game. They are nice to help the newbies as well as to those people who still need guidance when betting. Their predictions might not be always right, but they could be a tool for others to base their decisions to. Of course, this still comes with a risk so we should still be responsible for our decisions. After all, they are not Gods, so let's not give them the burden of being a know-it-all.

Well said mate, those persons who voluntarily shared their knowledge, expertise and predictions are not God's and they probably make it correct and make it wrong at the same time. They are also same with us who of course continue to make themselves knowledgeable about that said gambling or what else and with that being said we should do the same thing as well on ourselves so that we can personally assess whether it is good to follow their predictions or suggestions or not right. So let's be thankful to their volunteer insights and leg's be responsible to ourselves also.
Even if the predictions aren't totally accurate I think it's nice from them to share their views and guesses regards games' results, because they could simply bet and make profit quietly without revealing any hints to anyone.
I agree with you, let's be thankful and take the responsability for our own acts when betting online without blaming someone else's opinion for a loss we might have betting on a wrong result.
4433  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: February 14, 2022, 11:08:56 PM
One simple question about the interest as it seems unusually high 2.5% if you have at least 12.500 FUN for 30 days and if you have it for one year then it is 10%.I want to ask as I doubt if I put 1 Bitcoin in my Freebitco.in balance I will get 0.10 daily or monthly. That seems really high to me but most probably I have not understood it well because if it does I am going to add a huge chunk of my savings here.So how does interest work here in detail explanation is greatly appreciated.
Base interest is 4,08% annually for everyone. If your interest rate increases 2,5% through FUN holdings, annual interest will be raised to 4,18%. And if it increases 10%, annual interest will go to 4,48%.

You need to add the bonus percentage to the base percentage to reach the correct result (4,08 + 2,5% or 4,08 + 10%).
4434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: February 14, 2022, 11:03:09 PM

Of course, gambling from home is much more convenient and for people who do not like to be in the company of other people, it is an excellent solution. Thanks to the metaverse, online gambling will for sure grow more and more and it will surely take over even more of the market than till now. However, this is not a substitute for real human interaction and I am sure that classic casinos will reign supreme in the gambling market for many more years.

Yes it is and because of the pandemic this kind of gambling from home become widely practiced by many gamblers due to restrictions and stop operation of casino establishments. It is inevitable that gamblers will going to find the kind of gambling experience like the gambling experience inside casino and that's the biggest difference between gambling online and through traditional gambling. I am so much excited of what Mataverse can contribute to the advancement and development of gambling experience online that will justify that gambling online is kind of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable..
To gamble at home on the internet has became convenient for many gamblers already. And for those who live in countries where gambling is banned, cryptocurrency became the perfect solution to make gambling democratic and accessible for everyone. Thinking this way, internet and cryptocurrency were responsible for the whole task that I don't think metaverse would add much more to gambling industry and gamblers' entertainment in the way it's being currently developed.

If gamblers are going to adopt online betting at home it will be thanks to crypto, while metaverse is going to be just a detail (if it really works as expected).
4435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake Wagered $1.3 million in super bowl bet using bitcoin on: February 14, 2022, 10:32:31 PM
Well, it did paid off and Drake made a fortune betting on Rams with that much money. This will definitely be a big advertisement for crypto use but the thing that I fear the most is the mainstream media blotting this news out because they don't like crypto in it or maybe they might spin it around and make people think that crypto is a bad influence as it's used for gambling.
Media will always have something bad to say, they wont stop from doing this what good here is that, many celebrities are into Bitcoin now, and Drake just made a good return and increase his Bitcoin holdings. I’ve watched the game and that was a great one, many celebrities goes to the stadium to watch, I’m sure many of them placed their own bet as well. Gambling maybe bad in the eye of the others, but that’s alright they can’t hurt Bitcoin by that since fiat money are also being used for gambling.
I think there isn't anything bad the media can say about bitcoin or gambling due to the bet made by Drake. As you said, fiat is also used for gambling, so it's not an exclusivity of crypto universe, what means people will gamble anyway even if bitcoin didn't exist. And since big sums of money can't be moved anonymously through bitcoin on most gambling platforms, the media can't say it's money laundering too, because it's possible to easily investigate in case of suspicion.
4436  Economy / Economics / Re: One nation one currency... on: February 14, 2022, 08:58:46 PM
Humans can invest all their potential and strength in technological and scientifical development without being necessary to have an one world currency or nation.

There isn't actually a good reason to make the whole world a single and plain nation, because what makes the world interesting and exciting is the fact there are many different people, cultures and ways of life.

Meanwhile, different national currencies guarantee sovereight to the people and the rulers of a country. It's also a tool to protect local economies against foreigner financial manipulation.
4437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto stuck in sports betting site, now they want KYC on: February 14, 2022, 05:34:15 PM
Since the beginning it was a bad idea, because cheated the terms and conditions of the platform, since US citizens aren't allowed there. Then you made things more complicated by entering a fake Hong Kong number and now you are probably going to complicate your situation even more by introducing someone else to the story in order to move your funds.

I think it's not a good idea, because it's a serious crime to pretend being a person you aren't.

Better to forget about it and to use only sites allowed for US citizens from now on.
4438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I gave 100$ of Bitcoin to my elder brother as a gift on: February 14, 2022, 04:39:53 AM
I also suggest him to put his Bitcoins in staking, which will give him some APY return in long-term investment. The staking method will help him to grow his Bitcoin. I also suggest him follow the SIP strategy, if he finds any interest in the crypto industry then SIP could be a better option for long-term investment.
I liked the idea you didn't only gave him 100$ worth of bitcoin, but also taught him to invest this amount to generate some extra income through interest along the time. When buying small amounts of bitcoin it's interesting to invest the satoshis to maximize the earnings, especially because we don't know how long bear markets can last, so at least you can generate some extra profit while bitcoin doesn't recover its price, which can be withdrawn or used as money for payments in general. Just make sure to let the bitcoins invested in a legit platform.
4439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin doesn't have a bright future anymore on: February 14, 2022, 03:06:09 AM
In terms of percentage price increasement it can be true, but in order to make altcoins gain more value, bitcoin still has to rise a lot more yet, because it is the main cryptocurrency among all, which drives market's prices. Without bitcoin, all the other currencies mentioned won't skyrocket. So I prefer the safe bet, that is bitcoin.
Doesn't matter if bitcoin grow only 3x or 4x in price, it's still a lot and it's still the safest and most trusted cryptocurrency, so why to seek for unnecessary risk with any currency else?
4440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: February 14, 2022, 12:22:54 AM
At this point, I do no feel like there will be too much changes anyway. Like I get that Brazil will be first, Argentina will be second and either Ecuador or Uruguay will be third and the other fourth. Uruguay is playing Peru and Ecuador is playing against Paraguay, which means that both teams will likely win the next games. Nobody guarantees anything but it is mostly likely that they will both win and they will keep their positions.

Brazil and Argentina both playing against much weaker opponents as well which means that there is a good chance we could end up seeing the top 4 winning their games and not having any sort of problem at all. Not really that shocking to see to be fair.
Your prediction makes total sense and that is what is most likely going to happen. I don't see high possible changes on this classification that could bring teams outside the top 4 to these positions. Uruguay and Ecuador look solid where they are, while Brazil and Argentina don't need comments...

On the other hand, Peru can still get lucky to manage a draw against Uruguay and then win their another game against Paraguay, expecting Uruguay is going to lose against Chile or draw at least. This way Peru can reach the fourth position. In a scenario like that, Peru would hit 25 points against 23 or 24 for Uruguay.
