4421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whale transfers 1000 BTC from Bitstamp exchange to External wallet on: October 14, 2019, 08:18:16 AM
@OP

How do you exactly know that the bitcoins are transferred from an exchange wallet to a personal wallet?

The link you have posted, has nothing to do with the content and context of this thread. Would you mind rechecking and updating the link to the correct one?
4422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question about Blockchain/Smart Contract/Decentralized Casino on: October 14, 2019, 06:23:17 AM
Hi everyone:

Good day. Need some guidance on my study now. I am currently studying blockchain/smart contract/decentralized casino, just wondering why that is no android/IOS app available on listed TOP 20 casino in DAPPRADAR. Is that anything related to technical limitation or any other specific reason. Appreciate if anyone can explain it to me. Thank you.

It's mainly due to the security reasons. Having an android or iOS app is not really a big deal. But the challenge is with the cheaters who use bots and multiple accounts to make money unethically. Having an app will only increase the number of such scammers without doing any good to the casino owners. That's the biggest reason for the casinos not having an app in appstore.
4423  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-28] Bitcoin And Cryptocurrencies Are A Hedge For Bad Government on: October 14, 2019, 03:49:58 AM
supposedly, people in Hong Kong are now using Bitcoin in greater numbers in case the Chinese government try shutting protestors' bank accounts. and to undermine government control of the HKD, perhaps

I was just about to say that! After the Hong Kong population started their protest against land-greedy Chinese government, the p2p volume have reached to a new height through localbitcoins. Read the reference below,

https://beincrypto.com/localbitcoin-trading-volume-in-hong-kong-spikes-to-highest-levels-ever-recorded/amp/

It seems like the people of Hong Kong are trying to safeguard their wealth where no government can intervene!
4424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The launch of BitOffer's options will be one step ahead of Bakkt on: October 13, 2019, 06:48:19 PM
BitOffer will launch a major financial derivative product “BTC Seer” in Oct., which is a digital option innovation product. Users can start with 1 US dollar to speculate whether the price of Bitcoin will increase or decrease in the next 1 minute, 2 minutes or even longer. Profit can be up to 1000 times. The risk is controllable and the users can withdraw at any time.

It is called Binary option trading and such kind of trading platforms are widely available in the market already. I don't know what extra Bitoffer is offering!

However, can you please explain how the profit will go up to 1000 times? Is it due to the leverage offered or any other calculation methodologies? Such kind of binary trading platform is no match with Bakkt for obvious reasons! Bakkt is mainly focusing on institutional investors where the traders can get physical delivery of the bitcoin if needed! Alsp binary options are mainly offered to the day trader class of people! Bakkt really doesn't have any competition with Bitoffer whatsoever!
4425  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat currencies on: October 13, 2019, 06:14:24 PM
Some say that dollar is weak and getting weaker.

But dollar is still strongest currency.

Look at the stable coins like : pax, usdc, usdt true usd and more...  They are pegged with usd.
But how many stable coins are for euro or other currencies?

As people spreading rumours that dollar will  collapse and losing dominance, i see different.

My main question is what makes usd so dominant?

And why the euro value is higher then usd but USA dollar is still dominant, do you think that usd will be replaced by euro?

What's Ur take on that?

Dollar is used as a foreign reserve currency by majority of the countries in the world. Also dollar is the main settlement currency is all major international trade. These two reasons make dollar as the most dominant currency in the world. I can suggest an informative article for you to read about this matter,

https://www.thebalance.com/world-currency-3305931

It will give you a macro level understanding why dollar is so strong and used as a world currency!

The reason EUR was developed is to make Europe more financially independent and to minimize the dominance of USD. The same article shows a graph which says, the EUR dominance is only 1/3rd of the USD dominance in the world market. I don't think USD will ever be replaced by EUR, but yes, can give some serious competition to it!
4426  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is it possible to create a funding company on: October 13, 2019, 05:48:26 PM
I would like to know if it's possible to create a company specialized in lending to trading platforms (funding on Binance, Bitfinex, Bitmex, etc) and if I would have problems reporting income knowing that interests may vary from 8 to 16% APR and that it depends entirely on the market situation.

You mean to say you want to start a venture capital company with main focus to crypto trading market. It is very much possible but be prepared with few millions at least! For tax, get professional help!

Of course, I'm talking about doing this in crypto-friendly jurisdictions, I'm interested in Estonia since everything can be done online thanks to their e-residency.

Also, do you have other jurisdictions to suggest?

How about Japan? They are most crypto and busines friendly nation in the world!
4427  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does trading fees really matter ? on: October 10, 2019, 05:41:50 PM
Most of the exchanges have a minimal trading fees of about 0.25%
I see many people discussing trading fees here and there and that how high the trading fees is.
Does 0.25% really make a huge difference if you are earning at least more than 2% ?

Yes it does matter! Usually traders don't always make huge profit.  So for such trades where profits percentage is minuscule, trading fee matters to maintain trading profitability! It applies to real world stock market as well especially in my country where the competition is really high! I have seen broking houses offering as low as 0.1% fees for both day and delivery trade!

Same thing also applies for gambling platform. People always look for gambling websites with lowest house edge! Fees is indeed one of the most important deciding factor for many traders/players!

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has rejected the latest attempt at creating a bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF).

The SEC announced Wednesday that the ETF proposal, filed by Bitwise Asset Management in conjunction with NYSE Arca, did not meet legal requirements to prevent market manipulation or other illicit activities. The SEC placed the burden on NYSE Arca, rather than Bitwise’s proposal itself.

To date, the SEC has rejected all bitcoin ETF proposals, citing market manipulation and fraudulent activity concerns.

It's now five years since the Winklevoss twins first tried to get an ETF off the ground. And the problem remains the same - as long as the bulk of the trading takes place on exchanges that allow manipulation, the SEC can't approve the ETF, because the dodgy exchanges set the price.

If bitcoiners really want to see an ETF happen, they need to move their trading away from Binance and co, and towards Gemini, Coinbase and the other regulated exchanges.

Rejection was well envisaged! No one of us really expected to see it otherwise! But what you are soliciting here, will bring doomsday to the crypto market! Moving the trading volume to centralized and regulated exchanges will actually kill the essence of cryptocurrency! ETF is not the necessity of the crypto market! Learn to prioritize!
4429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dictaorships & how cryptocurrencies can bypass their control on: October 10, 2019, 04:17:04 PM
It is one of the major benefits of cryptos, which runs on the free market. Probably that's the reason why we are seeing a great spike in bitcoin volume from Hong Kong where people are protesting against the Chinese dictatorship! See the below link for reference,

https://beincrypto.com/localbitcoin-trading-volume-in-hong-kong-spikes-to-highest-levels-ever-recorded/amp/

It seems like Hong Kong people are trying to safeguard their wealth from the Chinese government against their greed for land! One live example!
4430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The uses for Cryptocurrency in places where fiat currency cannot be used on: October 10, 2019, 04:07:20 PM
Cryptos can very well be used in the countries with troubled economies. But those  cryptos have to be bught from the free market and not the one created by their government. That will lead to even bigger failure. Take example of Venezuela and petro currency. Both The petro and Venezuela's economy are big failures. It will only make sense if those cryptos are directly bought from the market using strong currencies like USD, EUR etc. This way we can seclude the crypto market from the risk of their weak economy and the influences of their corrupt governments!
4431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to miners when Bitcoin limit supply completely mined? on: October 09, 2019, 04:53:03 PM
This topic has been discussed many times here. A simple Google sear h would have given the correct answer. Read the below article to know what will happen once all 21 million bitcoins are mined.

https://99bitcoins.com/what-will-happen-when-all-bitcoins-are-mined/

The last bitcoin is estimated to be mined in 2140. Our next to next generation is probably going to see this.
4432  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank Crisis Hits India, Many Accounts Wiped Out, People Left With Nothing on: October 09, 2019, 03:55:37 PM
I wouldn't term this particular incident as banking system failure. I am well aware of this case and I personally know many of the victims. The problem occurred because 86% of the total loan size  was given to only one company known as HDIL which went bankrupt. The loan amount was used for buying ultra luxury cars and homes by the directors of the company without using it in the business. The chairman of the bank is directly involved in this scam which lead to a bigger problem and the bank is now not capable of fulfilling their liabilities.

So it's a classic case of corruption in India and not really a banking system failure! Obviously big political influence played a big role in this which will never come to light because the rulling party is involved with it!
4433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Fiat currencies still exist or be replaced by Crypto Currencies? on: October 09, 2019, 06:17:13 AM
We are indeed moving to a new era of digital money and transactions but we haven't yet reached a stage where physical cash can be eradicated. See the stats below,

Internal access: it is estimated that around 3 billion people have access to internet today, which is roughly 42% of world population. No internet means no digital payments.

Ref: https://www.invespcro.com/blog/world-population-online/

So if I overlook the other factors like computer literacy rate etc. The infrastructure needed for complete eradication of physical cash is not present. Yes, people from urban areas are using digital payments in their daily life but that's not the case for everyone!

The positive is that the situation is changing slowly and surely! But more time is needed before we see a holistic change!
4434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF this time? on: October 08, 2019, 05:57:25 PM
Another hype train for nothing in the making, I guess? ETFs have proven to be the most hyped thing in the bitcoin ecosystem yet literally adds in no weight or positive impact whatsoever in the whole scene. It will not get approved no matter how huge the public interest is, nor how hard the lobbyists work in order to get it done. IMO we don't need ETFs in the ecosystem. We already have established platforms that does the normal trading and other spicy stuff ETFs could offer (though in a somewhat different approach).

I have a similar opinion about ETFs! It's just a hype and won't add any real value to the crypto ecosystem, unless the ETF is settled physically. Investing on the price of an asset without actually buying/selling the actual asset, won't really add any value to the asset ecosystem. What I know, that majority of the ETFs that are waiting for the SEC approval, are not physically settled ETFs. The only physically settled ETF was the Winklevoss one which is also stuck in the line of approval. If we really want to see the volume driving up in the market, we need to see that physically settled ETFs are approved! otherwise, it won't make any sense!
4435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling activies correlates with Bitcoin's price? on: October 08, 2019, 03:41:35 PM
I am little bit confused about this topic, especially in gambling websites that accept Bitcoins or any cryptocurrencies.

So, we can see more activities on gambling that uses Bitcoin when we are in bull market (price increasing)? And decreases the activities or gambling volumes when also the price of Bitcoin keeps dumping (bear season) ?

I don't know if (we) some normal gamblers would have idea about this or maybe some gambling sites would exactly know this based on their website traffic/bet activities.

I don't really think there is any correlation but even if there's anything, it should be other way around. People who are regular gambler, are not much bothered about the price of bitcoin. Only occasional gamblers are the one who is bothered by its price fluctuations. For them, the bet frequency should go up when the price goes down and vice versa!
4436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Motivate currency exchangers in big city centres to exchange bitcoin ? on: October 08, 2019, 02:53:59 PM
Since the idea of motivating local stores to accept bitcoin is IMHO pointless, i have another proposition which could work in the close future (1 year):

Motivating big currency exchangers in centres of major cities to accept internet currencies: Bitcoin, Liberty Reserve, Pecunix and such.
Because those companies are already into "currency buisness", they may be much easier to motivate to use electronic currencies, than local stores.

After people could exchange money for bitcoin on their street, perhaps it will be much much easier to motivate markets/supermarkets/shops to accept bitcoin.

That is a good proposition. But please make sure that bitcoin is a legal tender in your country before you start pitching them. Because currency exchange business is heavily regularized by the central bank and local authorities. So if bitcoin is not a legal tender in your country, all your efforts will go in vain! But if legal, then it will take much less effort for a currency exchanger to accept cryptos than any other types of businesses!

A perceived alteration of this system is what has generated fear among many Bitcoin users. Some people even believe that the reason behind this.

What kind of alteration? I don't think any kind of alterations are being discussed or planned! Miners are usually knowledgeable people in the community. The FUD may scare off the newbies but not the early adopters for sure!

Now coming to China. We all know that a major percentage of mining hashrate comes from China and the government may very well ban them or create some policies on heavy taxation which would lead them to stop mining. But that can't stop bitcoin in any way! There are other countries which can take over China because a loss of 70% hashrate would lead to reduced complexity and more profitability with less hashpower. So one deletion will get adjusted by more additions.

Bitcoin can't be stopped in any way! That's the beauty of decentralized network!
4438  Economy / Trading Discussion / Do you think AI enabled trading bot really exists? on: October 07, 2019, 04:52:26 PM
The question is as simple as the subject line,

Do you think AI enabled trading bot really exists?

We often see websites with such claims that they have developed a AI enabled trading bot which generates income for them in an automated manner and anyone who invest in their platform. I strongly believe that these kind of schemes are just cleverly disguised ponzi schemes and no such trading bot really exists.

What's your view on this? Have you ever experienced any such trading bots that generates automatic income for you?
4439  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Start Earning Bitcoin Directly inside your Everus Wallet! on: October 07, 2019, 03:54:20 PM
Since the launch of PSIGEN back in June, we have had a great response from the Everus Community as thousands of users now are actively trading and generating Bitcoin BTC profits daily.
Have you joined yet? If so, let us know your feedback.
For those new to PSIGEN, you can find out more about its benefits and key features in this article below:

https://media.everus.org/what-is-psigen-and-how-is-it-different-from-other-trading-bots/

Lol!! It seems like a very cleverly disguised ponzi scam! Like plus token! People actually believed that an AI based trading bot exists that can generate profits for the users. If AI based trading bot is a reality, they why don't you use it to eradicate poverty from the face of the earth?
4440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone have experience using Brave browser to earn BAT tokens? on: October 07, 2019, 12:07:52 PM
I've been seeing some ads lately advertising that you can earn around $50-100 USD in BAT tokens per month by simply using the Brave browser. Does anyone have any experience and is there any truth to this ad?

I tried looking at their website but couldn't find much info (other than referral bonuses) so i'm thinking it's too good to be true.

$50 - $100 is over estimation! You can easily earn around $15 worth of bat token every month. But yes, if you use browser for more than 8 hours a day, then it may be possible! But make sure you opt in for their reward program separately.  By default it is not enabled!

But Brave as a browser is really fast and great to use! Even if you don't get rewarded, it has other benefits!
